Ash Lodge

I have been here 3 times now and love it everytime, its such a quiet relaxing place in the middle of nowhere yet close enough to other amenities!

The all wood lodge and tall roof is so cosy and the bath in the bedroom is my favourite ever! My only downsides are the outside has started to show signs of wear and tear on the windows, the patio table was cracked and broken down the middle and the umbrella attached was broken. I also received 2 minor electric shocks while in the hot tub which I notified staff about and was told the owner would look into it but they already know..... which was slightly concerning.

Ash Lodge was lovely.

The garden furniture and hot tub seemed a bit 'tired', but inside was very comfortable and well-appointed. Plenty of kitchen stuff to keep us going and the staff were very friendly.

Have been here several times and it is a nice location, safe secure and helpful staff.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay.

We specifically booked this lodge because it advertised an on-site swimming pool, and we planned to use it daily during our six-night stay. Upon arrival, we were informed that the boiler had broken but had supposedly been fixed, and that it would take one day to return to the correct temperature. However, each time we enquired throughout our stay, we were told there was still an issue and to try again the following day. Unfortunately, it felt as though we were being fobbed off. When we raised our disappointment upon departure, we were then told that the boiler actually needed to be completely rebuilt and that they believed we had been aware of this, which was absolutely not the case. The swimming pool was one of the main reasons we chose this particular lodge and justified the significant cost of our booking. Also, there were no eggs available to purchase on departure, as they stated they were too busy and they hadn’t been brought to reception.

Nice accommodation in a great setting, the Lodge is situated in Rutland and gives easy access to the local places of interest.

Appreciated the comforts and facilities on offer all in working order. Thanks.

Love it here, although the restaurant/cafe was closed for refurbishment and the village shop has been closed down for some time.

Wasn't told about this when I booked. Apart from that, would definitely book again.

Everything we needed for a weeks stay.

Good base for visiting this area. Very comfortable and quiet and secure with the gated entrance. Hot tub brilliant used it every day. Would definitely come back if in the area.

Wonderful place to stay.

Central to most things, easy to get to and the Sauna and Hot Tub were really nice. We never felt that our privacy was compromised. The bed was nice, firm mattress and the kitchen was well stocked, although the text on the Oven was rubbed off and if the book ever went missing it would be a problem. Also the main switch to the Sauna isn't labelled as such and caused confusion at first. We arranged to leave early but when we got to the security gate we had to go back and ask for it to be opened. This added another 20 minutes to our journey onwards. The village shop was closed down unfortunately. Otherwise, we would love to live in one permanently. There was a huge amount of space in the lodge and the back garden was also large, although set to grass and not used. A washer/dryer was a welcome addition. The knives were predicably blunt though and the reason we always take our own. We would definitely visit again.

With such high temperatures outside.

Hot tub could have been turned down.

An excellent way to end our golden wedding celebrations and will definitely be returning.

The outdoor wooden furniture could do with a bit of a spruce up but the accommodation on the whole was awesome & we will return.

The food onsite was provided by The Rutland Kitchen. Their prices are very competitive & we used them for evening & breakfast take away meals as the quality is so good. The sauna & hot tub were so relaxing. We loved Ash Lodge.

Just back from our fantastic 4 night stay in Ash Lodge We were shown to our lodge by Steve who was very welcoming The lodge was faultless very clean and equipped with everything we needed and more The welcome pack was a lovely touch that we didn’t expect The hot tub and sauna were amazing and we made the most of them We had a fantastic Sunday lunch in the plough which was just 5 minuets away The pool looked lovely although we didn’t use it We will defiantly be recommending Rutland Luxury lodges to our friends and family and would 100% return

Our second visit within 7 months shows how much we like this property.

Warm, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and within lovely countryside. The hot tub and sauna make this property so appealing to us and are a real treat.

We stayed at Ash Lodge 8th-12th January 25 for my husbands birthday.

The Lodge was so cosy, just what we needed for a nice break after christmas. The Lodge had everything we needed. We had a welcome package of prosecco, chocolates and eggs. The bath tub in the bedroom was a lovely touch, and the sauna in the bathroom was very useful after being in hottub. The nearby village was very picturesque, especially with the frosty days. We visited The Plough which is about 10 minute walk. The pub was very friendly, we even joined in with the weekly quiz night. The food is also nice and well presented. We are looking to re-book later in the year.

Excellent property, facilities and comfort

We had a fantastic stay at Ash Lodge for three days , The hot tub was the reason for the stay but the steam room and large bath was a bonus and we will definitely return in the summer.

We had a lovely week in Ash Lodge, our 4th visit to the lodges.

We only had one issue which was sorted immediately by the great staff on site. Fantastic hot tub and sauna, we also took advantage of the swimming pool. It was a Little cool but enjoyed the swim. You get a free half hour when you book a stay. Then it's £16 half hour but the pool is all yours to use the only thing is you cannot swim as a single because there is no lifeguard. Greetham is a lovely village with 2 pubs both serve food but the wheatsheaf serves top class food that I would say is your Michelin star food not cheap but absolutely beautiful. There is a restaurant and cafe on site but we did not use. The site has a caravan and camping area at the back of the lodges, we were so impressed with the set up and cleanliness, I would say if you like caravanning and camping definitely give it a try. Rutland water is a lovely place to visit and to have a walk or hire a bike. All

As good as ever. We had a great week. Staff on sight so helpful. Found new places to visit. Highly recommend this place

Great lodge managed by great staff in a great area

The hot tub was too hot to use at 42-43 degrees despite taking the cover off and putting the bubbles on as instructed.

In addition the gates are locked from 11 pm to 7.30am which meant leaving the care in the village , a 10 minute walk as we had an early start. The lodge was warm and clean with chocolates, tea, coffee and Prosecco on arrival.

Very well equipped and comfortable lodge on a very nice site.

Large outdoor space, garden furniture and hot tub were well used during our stay. We’ve already booked to stay again, having enjoyed it so much.

Amazing place, loved every moment there, has everything you could need, would recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be going back.

I have only scored the accuracy of the listing slightly down , because the facilities are better than the listing , ie you don’t need tea towels , the kitchen utensils etc are superb , they provide robes which is a huge benefit with hot tub that I could not find on the listing .

One useful point , all the symbols are worn off the oven , requires real guess work , think you can get new stickers. We will certainly be back it was superb .

A perfect stay from arrival till departure.

Clean and comfortable. Lovely private garden for enjoying the hot tub which had the water checked on a daily basis by owner. Will definitely be back next year. Totally recommend.

We couldn’t fault anything and loved the Hot Tub and Sauna which we used every day. Didn’t want to leave and are already looking at future dates for our next visit and when we do if you can order the same weather that would be the icing on the cake. (Stayed the hottest week of the year).

Our second visit to Ash his year and we enjoyed it very much.

Ash Lodge is set in a very nicely laid out and maintained section of the Rutland caravan park.

The site has a swimming pool and restaurant cafe (we didn’t use either of these so can’t comment). The property itself was roomy, well equipped and maintained and we especially liked the private hot tub and sauna. Staff were friendly and approachable and check in and out was efficient and trouble free. Easy 5-10 minute walk from site to the village with its two pubs.

I had such an amazing time!

The cabin was beautiful and so spacious as well as the garden. The little welcome package was a lovely surprise and I will be recommending to everyone! I can't wait to come back :) The cleanliness was really good too, just abit dusty in the sauna, that would be my only negative.

Love the hot tub and sole use of the swimming pool {reasonable cost} and secluded garden. The on site cafe is very reasonable and excellent everyday food.

This was our third stay at this place .

It was so peaceful and relaxing. So many places around to visit. The on site cafe provided good quality meals which we ordered and picked up later. Ready and waiting for us exactly on time. The lodge was very clean with everything that we needed. The hot tub a real bonus. Hope to be back sometime.

Not my first visit, another fantastic stay, have come home and booked to come yet again!

Ash lodge is clean, spacious and has all the facilities you could want and more! Really lovely double shower and free standing bath and the hot tub and sauna make the place extra special! 5 minute walk to the local pubs and Rutland water for a nice walk is a short drive also. Excited to come back!

Excellent, 3rd time we have stayed here, twice in Ash Lodge and once in Maple Lodge.

Everything is always Spotless. Welcome pack of chocolates, eggs and prosecco was very welcome. Excellent food available from the on site Rutland Kitchen.

Tranquility me and my partner were upset to leave.

The facilities were spotlessly clean. The staff were warm welcoming helpful and professional. We was in heaven for a weekend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ash lodge.

We had previously stayed in sycamore lodge and expected this to be smaller but it wasn’t. Very spacious and everything we needed was there. Staff at reception were lovely and very helpful. The use of energy saving lighting is to be applauded, but it would have been good to have one side light which was as bright enough to read by in the evening. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank you (especially for arranging the good weather!!) It might be useful to have a book in each lodge where visitors could record places they had enjoyed a meal or nice day’s they had spent in the area. Just a thought ?

He had a great time in Ash Lodge, couldn't believe the space.

Because we had the one bedroom, it was huge, with a lovely big bath in the room. The bathroom was massive too, with a big double shower & a sauna! The kitchen was very well equipped, dish washer and washer-dryer, but a very complicated hob! The living area was large, plenty of seating with tv, DVD and cd/radio. Nice touch with the music going into the bathroom too. Outside, where do I start! Nice wooden garden furniture and brolly, and the hot tub. The tub was lovely, always nice and warm, we spent a few relaxing evenings in it. There were only 2 negatives, one was out of their control; flies! Spray was provided, but they seemed immune to it. The other small thing that made comfort a 3 not a 4, was the lumpy duvet!

A very lovely cabin very spacious we absolutely loved our stay i had never stayed at a cabin always used hotels but i have been converted and will definitely visit again the bedroom was very spacious with a bathtub and sauna in extremely large bathroom felt like a honeymoon location but in England the only disappointment was the check out time was very early so had a rushed morning on last day but otherwise 10*

Had the best stay! Staff were helpful and friendly. The lodge was very clean, even the new towels smelt amazing! Had the most relaxing stay and made use of the hot tub, sauna and restaurant on site. Can not praise enough. Will be returning! Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Lodge was just perfect apart from a couple of extras needed in the shower room.

A non slip mat is a must but we used the bath mat to feel safe, and a shower caddy would be helpful as shampoo etc had to be put on the floor which is not ideal for any age but especially not for older people. Super kitchen, bed and hot tub and the welcome pack was a delight. Would recomend Ash Lodge to everyone. Thank you very much.

Such a pleasant experience, very relaxed & everything you could ask for with the property & site. The local pub was very nice & the food both in the pub & on site cafe was great. The wife is already looking at dates to return. Pre book the pub food if required as they are very busy.

Great property, very clean and well presented.

Shower very slippery, could do with a mat or two - we took the one from the bath. Needs a shelf in bathroom near basin and shower for spectacles - nowhere to put them other than loo seat!. Also needs a light over washbasin to assist shaving, when standing at basin there is insufficient light to see face due to window being directly behind one. Wi-fi worked well, obviously has been fixed since reports of problems previously. All staff very friendly and helpful.

The property was lovely and warm and music was playing on arrival which made it very welcoming.

We had a lovely welcome pack which was really appreciated. The lodge had everything we needed and was kitted out to a high standard. The facilities were excellent only wish we had booked for longer to make full use of them. The staff were friendly and helpful. We really Can't fault the lodge it truly was luxurious.

It was our 4th visit and we would stay again. One staff member was a little abrupt, maybe had a bad day. But on the whole staff were friendly.

Lodge was incredible and made our new year amazing.

On arrival milk and eggs were complimentary.

Nice thought. We arrived on the 24th December. Milk had expired on 23.12.21 and was sour. As the milk was off we didn’t dare try the eggs as we had no idea how long they had sat on the table for This is our second visit to Ash Lodge and forth time to the site. The last time was Christmas 2019 and Feb 2020 where everything appeared new and perfect. This time our experience was not so good. In fact we both thought about leaving early. The hot tub was too hot for us so I tried to change the heat setting. I unfortunately pressed something that made the tub go into limp mode and stay at 35 degrees. I made contact with reception who sent someone out. On arrival the maintenance guy was very put out being called out and said we should not have touched the settings. He was very off hand with me even though I admitted my error. He re set the tub but unfortunately still set at 35 degrees. We waited over time for the tub to be heated back up to a comfortable setting with no joy. I attempted to increase the temperature and managed to sort it. On the last evening of our stay another maintenance guy came in and filled the tub up with hot water which then made it unusable due to the tub being far too hot at 42 degrees. Yes we could have waited for the tub to naturally cool down but by that time of night it was too late. There were no instruction for the tub in the lodge apart from who can use the tub etc. Maybe to save calling for assistance when there is an issue with the tub an instruction sheet should be produced ??!!!! The wooden flooring is starting to lift in places, wear and tear issues. The sauna door is warped and doesn’t close. Be aware the outside slabs are smooth from the entrance and around the tub. On wet days these become very slippy. On a positive note. The kitchen has everything you need. Lounge is clean and comfortable. Would we stay here again? No. It’s a shame as we were looking forward to going back after our visit in 2019 and 2020

Had to phone 48hrs prior to arrival to confirm what time we’ll be there.

Told them about 3 O’clock and still had to wait as lodge wasn’t ready! Sauna door didn’t close properly so took twice as long to heat up as it heated the whole bathroom. Hot tub was warm on the day of arrival but the next day was cold and the day after that was freezing but temperature showed it was 40 degrees. The kitchen tap leaks so your forever drying the worktop down. Then on the second night at 8pm we had a power cut for about 20mins which wasn’t to bad until it went again. Then between 8pm & 2am we totalled 9 power cuts. When we spoke to the warden he was very rude and clearly didn’t care and even said to us “What do you want me to do you booked to stay here” then on check out they basically tried saying the problems we had wasn’t anything to do with them as we booked through Sykes Cottages not them and you could tell they couldn’t care. Although we did manage to get the internet working! Would I go again? No Would I recommend going? No

The lodge was amazing.

Very comfortable. Loved the hot tub. The sauna was a nice touch although didnt really use it. Lots of room. The lodge was beautifully appointed. The swimming pool was lovely but it cost £16 for1/2 hour, which was a shame. We loved our holiday

Stayed August 2021 and had a great time, the lodge is even nicer than the photos, seems far larger than appears in the images.

Great sauna and hot tub, everything was spotlessly clean and kitchen well equipped for our stay. Swimming pool, shop and cafe on site. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting some relaxation in a quiet location

The holiday was great.

The facilities were good. The price of the pool was quite expensive just for a half hour swim. The wifi did not work at all and the password was incorrect and the carpet was dirty underneath. Apart from those things the rest of the stay was brilliant and we had the best time. Thank you again.

First time in a lodge extremely happy would definitely go again

No privacy, had to have curtained closed whole time.

No WiFi, first password would not work, given total of four vouchers, none of which worked. Warden attitude was to shrug ! Main issue was standard of cleanliness, every surface covered in a film of something? mirrors all smeary, glass surfaces all foggy, mop marks on all the floors. It had been cleaned, but probably all with the same cloth, just needed a little more attention. Frying pan and fish slice need replacing. Garden furniture old and extremely uncomfortable. Things need a bit of a spruce up, and updating. Booked because of the sauna and hot tub, which were lovely, however overall more 3 to 4 star, than 4 to 5 star. Rather disappointing!!

Heating was broken, absolutely NO INTERNET, caretaker clueless no privacy and customer service from Sykes was awful

Couldnt fault the holiday and the accomodation , it exceeded all expectations .

We had a great week at Ash Lodge.

Very clean and comfortable. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Bottle of wine, chocolates, eggs and milk. Used the hot tub and sauna every day. Also had private use of the pool for half hour in the morning, booked in advance. We would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Great lodge every thing you need is supplied it does need updating in places ie new floor in front room and wi fi is a joke not available as promised .

But apart from that really relaxing holiday .

We loved this holiday, we stayed 3 nights and wish it was longer.

This place was large and such nice quality. So clean ! It looks beautiful. The walk to the pub was so quick and there was a lovely little park on the public walk way. The staff was amazing and welcoming and a massive "care package" with wine, bread, fresh, eggs and milk in the fridge, never expected that. Would thousand percent recommend this!

Perfect little lodge for a break away.

The lodge itself was stunning. Nice big bath and hot tub and sauna. The little things the hosts add are just a nice such bottle of bubbly and chocolates on arrival and few essentials such as milk , sugar. Would highly recommend we will be definitely coming back.

These lodges are fantastic very clean every thing you need right down to putting milk in the fridge for you the staff and wardens could not do enough for you me and the wife will be booking again soon

..really had thought of everything. Very private gardens with hot tub. Only down for us was uncomfortable hard pillows but otherwise was amazing break away

The lodge was exceptional: large, tastefully and comfortably furnished.

Our plan was to stay here and relax without going for days out, solely using the sauna, hot tub and private garden. And this is exactly what we did - a great experience. We also unexpectedly had sole (private) use of the on-site swimming pool for half hour per day. Thank you for a lovely break.

Ash lodge was absolutely beautiful and really clean in side, couldn’t of asked for a better break or a nicer lodge to stop in, we will definitely be returning!
