Lodge 24

Absolutely fantastic place we stayed here for Christmas with all the family and some flying in from the UAE and what an amazing time we had.

The place was clean and tidy to a very high standard and it had everything you could possibly need. Already looking to book again thank you so much

Spent the weekend at lodge 24 for my nans 80th birthday!

Perfect for a family of 8 of us. Great for fishing, relaxed in the hot tub and spent some quality family time. I will be returning in the warmer weather. The lodge was cosy and warm, meet the maintenance guy Paul he was lovely and made sure everything was upto standards for our weekend away. We took a short drive to Doddington hall which was lovely! Also Took a uber into Lincoln for shopping and a few drinks. Would highly recommend this place.

But no cleaning stuff

Just had a great 7 nights at Lodge 24, on arrival everything was clean and tidy as expected.

The lodge is a lot bigger than you could expect, very well equiped. Hot tub was all ready to use and well looked after. The site was very well maintained and very quiet due to its location, the lake was right on your front porch. The lake contains coarse fish with plenty of Carp in the high singles, only fished couple of hours each evening and caught 21. Great location for seeing Lincolnshire, plenty of local garden centres doing fantanstic food. The windmill pub up the road does a great carvery everyday and the desserts are something else. All in all a great lodge on a lovely site with fishing thrown in, what more could you ask for.

What a lovely place, very quiet and tranquil.

Great views onto the lake on which you can fish if you would like to. Very roomy with comfy beds we all had a great a great couple of nights sleep. Hot tub a bonus - would highly recommend this place if in the area.

It was a lovely property and we really enjoyed our stay , beautiful setting , very peaceful and the lodge was well equipped with everything you need .

The one and only negative was the awful frying pan which we couldn’t use .. other than that we loved it , plenty of space for the children and dogs and the maintenance guy was very helpful.We hope to book again for next year .

Ive only put a happy face for comfort because of the beds but that's a personal preference.

We had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. The sofas were comfortable.

The upstairs bathroom situation is problematic.

There is a pointless space adjacent to the balcony bedroom (which could squeeze an en-suite shower) and a shared bathroom with only a bath. This means that all three bedrooms are forced to use the downstairs shower. The doors to the downstairs bathroom cannot be locked which presents obvious difficulties. Such a pity because everything else is excellent. Great fishing, lovely hot tub, super kitchen and living/dining space.

Amazing lodge in beautiful setting.

We are a family of 8 and we had more than enough room, loads and loads of storage! Fishing was good with plenty of Rudd, Carp,Roach and Perch caught. We throughly enjoyed our stay and loved the little touches ( thank you for the Prosecco) from the owners and friendly neighbours. We will return.

We’ve just got back from a lovely stay in lodge 24.

This was by far one of the nicest lodges we’ve stayed in so far and would definitely stay again. If I could recommend any changes to improve it they I would be a shower in the upstairs bathroom, a bigger bed in the balcony bedroom, a lock on the downstairs bathroom and a door installed to block off the living room to the downstairs bedrooms to keep the noise out.

Accommodation was absolutely fantastic.

Was as described in the listing, modern with all facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We only encountered a couple of minor issues: 1) Heating upstairs - Radiators depsperately need bleeding as only the very bottom gets warm. Not ideal when is cold and windy. 2) Plug got stuck in the bath upstairs and we were unable to drain the water, leaving us unable to use the bath/shower upstairs. We would not let this affect anything to do with our break as we still had a great time and would recommend this lodge to all our friends.

We would most definitely come again! Could improve again with covering the hot tub and putting in some bigger beds. But other than that our stay was faultless.

The lodge was everything we expected clean spacous, fab location and the hot tub was a lovely bonus.

The reason for low scoring on cleanliness was due to us finding dirty plates, mugs, cutlery and saucepans. The plates had food on them the mugs were stained and two had large cracks going down the side. The saucepans were black obviously been burnt whilst cooking and needed replacing. I feel from a health perspective this was not satisfactory and was not happy to have to put everything in the dishwasher before it could be used. This is not a good start to a holiday. I am assuming we pay for a cleaner within price of the holiday and this should be something they check! The helpline was a waste of time it took 4 days for someone to message back. Promised a number to call ....there was no number! Such a shame as the lodge, location/hot tub were fab. Would recommend just hope cleaning has been completed for you on your arrival.

The lodge was lovely.

Some damp issues around the upstairs bathroom. Some kitchen equipment needs replacing but the facilities were fabulous, lodge was perfect size and presented really well. Thank you.

Such a lovely Lodge.

It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Cupboards well stocked with crockery, pots and pans etc. Beds were very comfortable. Main living area was very spacious with plenty of seating. Hot tub was well maintained and temperature was perfect. We have booked again for next year.

The property was ideal, my complaint is the misleading location.

It isn't in South Hykeham with a shop and pub 0.3 miles away, it's in Thorpe on the Hill the other side of a busy A46 with no shop and pub a good 30 mins walk away!! Only little grumble is shower and baths were quite slippy but we didn't have bath mats.

Great property in an idyllic location, has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday.

Close to Whisby nature park ideal for nice walks.

Perhaps some more mugs and tumblers as there were 8 of us.

Very comfortable and we had a lovely stay, a beautiful lodge and great to have a utility room.

This was a really relaxing weekend for us, we took our mum who is 98 for a break away and she really enjoyed it, the outlook across the lake was lovely, and the place was lovely and clean, beds were comfortable and everything worked, would recommend

Lodge 24 was just perfect for me and my friends, we could not fault the cleanliness, the location, the peace and quiet, the hot tub and the size of the rooms.

The kitchen had all the facilities we would expect for 8 people and the welcome bottle of Prosecco was most unexpected, but greatly appreciated. Unfortunately the TV connection was a bit hit and miss, I’m not sure if that was down to the wi-fi but it was difficult to watch any films without it buffering. Plus only 1 shower for 8 of us was challenging, there was 2 bathrooms however the 2nd one only had a bath with a shower head on the wall, we found there was plenty of room in both bedrooms upstairs where a shower room could be converted in 1of the walk in wardrobes (just a suggestion) We all said we would definitely stay again, Amazing!

Lodge was lovely, had everything you need to enjoy a short stay.

Paul and Chris were on hand if we needed anything. Had a small issue with the heating and was solved within a few hours. Upstairs bathroom door hook needs to change, it’s to short, flooring in between bathroom and kitchen is lipping up and one of the spot lights in the downstairs bedroom is hanging out, all of which I’m sure both Paul and Chris can fix. This lodge is highly recommended to anyone looking to take their children, my children enjoyed it so much that they want to rebook for the summer.

Fabulous lodge!

Immaculate and comfortable! Love the under floor heating, beds very comfortable and hot tub amazing!!

This was a lovely clean comfortable lodge we couldn't fault it ,there was one thing it didn't have a freezer and the fridge was a little small but we managed and loved staying here ,it was also peaceful

the inside of the dishwasher was already broken (the attachment) the door handle was loose and snapped off, the door kept getting stuck.

the washing machine didn't run properly and there was a massive mark along the wall near the table. the lodge was lovely and i would stay again, few minor issues stated above, besides that we had an incredible stay.

Our lodge was really lovely.

We all had a great time. The facilities were great. Everything you needed and more was provided. I would definitely recommend it. The only criticism I would give is that the hot tub was a little scummy on the seats but the water was clean. The rug and sofa in the main room was a littledirty with dried grass and crumbs so we had to hoover them when we arrived, but I think this was an oversight as everything else was clean. Otherwise I would have marked this 5* instead of 4*, but it would not stop me returning as everything else was lovely.

We had an amazing stay.

It is a beautiful lodge that is very spacious. The hottub was great and almost ready when we arrived (they clean it after each stay, so had to wait for it to heat up). Waking up to looking over the small lake was just perfect, as was the ability to fish. It is well situated to access Lincon and Newark. However, there were a couple of niggles - the lodge sleeps 8 people but there is only enough sofa space for 4 people (6 if you want to be squashed!) So 4 of us ended up sitting on the bar stools or at the dining table, not very relaxing as we stayed for 6 days. The oven only had one shelf the pan set was small and there were only a couple of small baking trays, which made it difficult to cater for us all. (This is personal preference!) Overall, I would highly recommend this property - you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful lodge.

Beautiful setting. A balanced scoring. Usually when looking to book a break away, photos can make the accommodations look bigger than the actual size, but we were really pleased that this was the other way around, the lodge being bigger than anticipated. Great space for a family get together. Open lounge and kitchen diner is perfect when socialising when cooking. The table space for eating is again great! The position on the site was perfect. Having a morning cuppa sitting on the upstairs balcony watching the birds & ducks was a real treat. A heron even popped in to help himself to morning breakfast. The hot tub was similarly a hit with a glass( plastic wine ones are there) of Prosecco, a bottle was left as a welcome pack. All rooms have their own heating regulation which is a bonus to meet a number of people’s temperature preferences. As with any underfloor it’s tricky to regulate “instant heat” so I would suggest regulating the heating (and time) in each room when you arrive based on your usual order preferences, rather than what the previous occupier has set them as. when we arrived some rooms were set at 30*! - we turned them down but the clock setting was set incorrectly so went extremely cold later in the evening as it had turned itself off in night mode. Easily rectified for the rest of the stay. While the Lodge is minimally furnished, again perfect for a holiday letting, Sadly taking a closer look the cleanliness wasn’t the best. The fridge/ freezer hadn’t been cleaned properly, food crumbs & sticky residue left behind, the chopping boards in the kitchen cupboard were greasy as was some of the cutlery. Dust and fluff underneath the beds. The hoover was stored in the utility room cupboard & stunk of damp. No mop or other floor cleaner. The starter cleaning pack didn’t include any bacterial spray, only a 15ml washing up liquid, cloth & 3 dishwasher tablets, so wasn’t sufficient products for cleaning before unpacking. After phoning the management company to find out where the requested cot was kept, I was quite shocked to find out it was kept in the utility room under the sink, not in one of the 2x bedrooms that had significant walk in wardrobe space, despite the the call handler explaining the reason being limited space. Not what I would call appropriate infection control. If the cleanliness issues could be resolved. I would have given this lodge a straight 10 and 5 stars.

Very nice property,heating was bit of a challenge but otherwise enjoyable weeks stay ,hot tub was a big hit cleaned regularly would recommend this for a relaxing break and may consider returning even though we like to try different places ,definitely in our top 3

We absolutely loved our stay in Lincolnshire.

My elderly father loved the fishing, it was incredible. Just what we all needed. The cottage was super lovely. The only criticism I have is that the bed in the master bedroom was quite small and there was no ensuite. We also couldn't watch the rugby as the TV wasn't working properly. I did however report this and the ladies were super helpful. It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you, Nicola

Firstly i would have liked more info about the fishing ahead of arrival, however as this turned out it was fantastic.

Lodge 24 is amazing and was only let down in my opinion by not having an enclosed deck area so my dog (Cockapoo) could wander around when the doors were open without visiting adjacent lodges! (But the neighbor's were all ok with his visits, some even giving him treats), but this would not deter me from revisiting. On arrival we had a welcome pack and everything was relatively clean and tidy. The main downside i noticed was a lot of fruit flies and spiders in the downstairs bathroom and corner of the lounge where the floor lamp was. Also the microwave and oven were a nightmare to figure out how to operate. They were both great equipment, however operating even the basic functions was arduous. Aside from the above all i would ask is that the hot tub area have better privacy screening as the current lattice screens do not offer much privacy. I also thought it strange that an 8 person lodge only had one under counter fridge in the kitchen and was expecting to find a freezer somewhere. Despite checking all the units i figured they didn't have one as most visitors wouldn't need any frozen food. It was only on checking out i found a floor to ceiling fridge freezer in the utility room lol. I swear i looked there too.... Anyway, Lodge 24 is exceptional and very well appointed throughout and i will hopefully return soon.

We had a lovely stay, the lodge was very spacious and comfortable and have no complaints.

The only issue we had was with the hot tub which had tripped but after a quick call was very quickly fixed. We would happily stay here again. Thank you.

Lovely property, recently refurbished to a high standard.

One slight annoyance, after the maintenance man came to the hot tub and put in an extension lead, the hot tub didn't heat up enough for it to be used on our last night. Other than that it was fab.

Had an excellent stay, very comfortable and nice surroundings, quiet and tranquil, lodge was clean and tidy with all amenities that you would require for your stay.

Not too far from Lincoln high street, if you want to pop out. Asda very close by for shopping if required. Only wish had booked a longer stay.

Lodge was at a beautiful relaxing location which was very well maintained Lodge in general was spacious and clean My children did not want to leave Everything was available in the lodge and the hot tub was amazing and enjoyed fully The only thing we would have loved was to have had a bit more for the kids to enjoy on site but other then that it was a lovely holiday and I have recommended to many.
