We had a wonderful few days at Dragonfly Lodge, set on a working farm up a single track road.

As we arrived the view was breathtaking. We met the donkeys and goats. Very pleased with our accommodation choice. We spent our time between Welshpool, visiting family, and Shrewsbury. So the lodge was half way between the two. All bedrooms were so warm and inviting. Very comfortable, very peaceful and tranquil, despite the squeaking floor down the hall to the bedrooms, which we found hilarious. 2 bathrooms, one had a bath and one a wet room shower. We did have one incident, where we turned the sink cold tap in one of the bathrooms off and it came off in our hand, we were mortified, but we let Barry and Bev know and by the time we came back in the evening we had 2 new taps :). We were greeted to biscuits and fresh milk, so thank you for that. The lodge was like home from home, everything you needed. Although a couple of pizza trays would have been useful. Thank you.

The Lodge is at the end of a long lane from the village, that climbs high up into the hills to the farm.

The views from the decking stretch to the horizon and are perfect with a drink on a warm evening. The Lodge is well equipped, with three double/twin rooms and a single bedroom and two bathrooms (one shower / wet room and one bath only). The site would have got five stars, but for the very noisey corridor floor that runs between the bedrooms and bathrooms on either side. The smallest of movement in rooms or corridor ensures everyone is awake, whatever the time.

On arrival we were totally blown away with the views from the terrace, it was amazing and we enjoyed sitting outside with our cuppas looking at the views, We saw kites, buzzards.

Location is stunning, peaceful and perfect. Dragonfly lodge was lovely with comfortable sofas, 1 of our party struggled get up from the sofa but there was a lovely fireside armchair which was perfect. The beds and bedding was lovely and comfortable. The 1 and only negative was the hallway between the bedrooms and bathrooms was creaky you couldn't walk quietly on it, but saying that nobody heard anyone else at night time. The 3 donkeys were such a delight to see each day. We had some good days out, the lodge is a good base to explore from. Would highly recommend this property to anyone. Would definitely stay again if in the area again.

Location great with lovely views also the owner was very helpful.

Only comment is the lounge & dinning area not really adequate for 7 people. And the kitchen area lacks lighting there were 2 under cabinet strip lights but not charged and no cable to recharge them. The slow cooker was a nice item to have and was used for a few meals

A delightful, cosy lodge set within a working farm, with stunning views of the Stiperstones.

A lovely rural location, away from the local village giving you plenty of peace and quiet in a beautiful location. The garden was secure allowing our two dogs the freedom to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by, as they love to do.

We had a very nice stay at Dragonfly Lodge.

The prooperty was clean and well kitted out. The property owners who live in the farm next door were very friendy, and quick to answer questions or queries. They left all the essentials we needed like dishwater tabs and toilet rolls, and also tea and coffee and some biscuits, and this was appreciated. The best thing about the property is the view from the patio area, which is amazing. There is a real 'wow' factor, as you look across the valley towards the Stiperstones. The only thing that I would describe as a negative about the property are some creaky floorboards. The property is quiet and secluded, which is great. You feel as though you are right in the middle of a beautiful part of the English countryside. It was nice seeing the farm animals, like the donkeys in the paddock, who were very sweet, This location does mean you have to drive up a 1.5 mile farm road, which means avoiding bumps and potholes, and I think my little VW Up had to go into second and first geat to climb up to the property. Many thanks for a great weekend. We have some lovely memories of our stay.

Dragonfly Lodge is in a beautiful setting, overlooking the Shropshire hills.

We had a wonderfully relaxing week exploring the local area. The fully enclosed garden and terrace is perfect for dogs. The lodge is very clean and well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of space to relax, both inside and outside the lodge.Everyone we met on site were friendly and helpful, but not intrusive at all.

We were warmly greeted by Miriam who explained everything to us and offered to help with our luggage.

The property was well layed out and everything had been thought about. Very well equipped and quality fixtures and fittings. The views were breath taking and although the owners home was close by we were left to enjoy our time knowing from the write up in the lodge we could always call on them for anything should we need to.

A lovely cottage with stunning view.

We were really made to feel very welcome by everyone especially Miriam and Tom. The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable. As mentioned in other reviews lots of little extra touches such as torches in every room. The donkeys are very friendly. We spent a lot of time just relaxing and sitting out enjoying the view. There are plenty of places to visit and eat out at within a reasonable drive. Would highly recommend a trip to Kerry Vale vineyard for wine tasting and delicious food. Another really good week in a Sykes cottage.

A lovely lodge with stunning views over the Shropshire countryside.

We stayed with 5 adults and 3 dogs. Plenty of space, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Lodge was well furnished - beds exceptionally comfortable and it was warm and cosy. Really well thought out by the owners, small torches on keyrings and sensor lights in the hall. A very relaxing break - thank you.

Our stay was at Christmas time, the arrival was very seasonal with a beautiful Christmas tree plus decorations and a wonderful welcoming pack for ourselves and the dog.

We found the property very warm, comfortable and homely. A fantastic place to stay, with the owners very friendly, helpful and accommodating. An ideal place for dog owners with a secured garden and decked patio area. The setting and surrounding area was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing.

What a lovely lodge to stay.

Welcomed by Bev lovely and friendly. Very clean warm and comfortable. Amazing views from the balcony. Even at the end of Oct we were able to sit out and enjoy the sunrise. Nice little surprises on arrival to welcome us. Everything we needed was there plus more. We were a very mixed aged family of 7 from age 10 to 88. Loved the games provided that were in the unit. We enjoyed feeding the goats with our carved pumpkins and feeding the donkeys with left over carrots and apples. The dogs loved the secure garden at the side they could run happily without worrying about them been able to get out. Bev welcomed our Granddaughter trick or treating at Halloween. Everyone was so friendly. Ideal place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet with stunning views across the valley. Thank you to Bev and everyone else we met we had an amazing week. We would definitely recommend Dragonfly lodge to family and friends, as well as returning ourselves. Thank you.

We had a wonderful holiday at Dragonfly Lodge.

The lodge itself is situated in the most beautiful surroundings, with wildlife all around. Inside you have everything you could ever need and all the amenities are to the highest quality. The welcome basket was such a lovely touch. Bev has thought of everything and was such a welcoming host. Thank you again for such a fabulous stay!

Dragonfly lodge is the perfect escape for peace and relaxation. The lodge is beautifully presented and has everything you need for the perfect holiday.

A fantastic stay so relaxing and peaceful, the owner Bev came and introduced herself, who is lovely.

The place was very comfortable clean and dog friendly, we will definitely return with other family members. The information provided was very informative and helpful of the local area - one thing I wish we knew in advance was tha you can get shopping delivered but we couldn’t get a slot once there.

Lovely and quiet. Very spacious, had everything we needed in the lodge. Clean and comfortable throughout. Very friendly and welcoming owners and housekeeper, always checking that everything was OK. Lovely seeing the donkeys, goats and other farm animals around us. Worth exploring the hillside walks around the farm, incredible views of the Shropshire countryside. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thank you for the welcome pack, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was almost perfect but unfortunately not 1 the internet was unusable.

2 shower room floods, most irritating if you want to use the loo. 3 the dryer doesn’t work. 4 loo leaks when flushed - there is a cup for that , but most unpleasant. Everything else was perfect, but these issues need addressing.

Everything was very comfortable and it was very well equipped. The views are stunning and the kids enjoyed playing outside in such a beautiful spot.

Really comfortable. The first property that I had stayed at were I didn’t need to open up me bag of ‘just in case’ kitchen equipment. The owner has thought through and resourced the property so well. Only thing that would have made the holiday better was if the weather was such that we could have sat out on the veranda- but it was February! Thank you x

We loved dragonfly lodge.

It was clean, warm, comfortable and well furnished. We had lots of space inside and outside. The views were amazing. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay and being able to walk around the working farm everyday was a highlight. Thanks for a wonderful stay and helping us to make wonderful family memories.
