What guests are saying
Very clean lovely place to stay.
The welcome book needs updating all the menu are very old and the taxi number. Bed very uncomfortable. A welcome pack on arrival is a very good idea like milk tea coffee biscuits we arrived very late the shops was closed
Great little log cabin with hot tub for value for money.
Pleasantly surprised as had read some reviews saying it smells of pee etc but it didn’t Equipped with all the essentials needed. Some lovely views and visits from the lambs. Which our children loved. Did see a couple of Red kites from the cabin which was a bonus. However some maintenance required these were little niggles. Decking dated, mattresses could do with replacing kept falling into middle of it, shower thermostat definitely faulty hot to cold constantly not one temperature. However we still had a good time for two nights. Our last night was spoiled by a group of noisy neighbours very rude language and not respecting the noise curfew. Music until 12.45pm. Sadly this ruined it as we couldn’t sleep and our two children (2 and 4 years old) didn’t sleep either and a big drive home in the morning we were not impressed and very tired. However I would like to point out this experience doesn’t reflect the site and facilities. it’s just bad luck on our part as you can’t control who else is staying there.
We had a wonderful time at the lodge, however there were a few issues that we encountered that would have made the stay that much better.
The biggest issue was the smell of urine on the bedroom carpet on the window side. We understand it is a dog friendly cabin and accidents happen. The steps down to the garden felt very unsafe. On the first morning there was an audible crack. I am 16 stone so not a lightweight by any means but the lack of a handrail too made it feel more precarious. Maybe consider a fluorescent strip on each step too. There is a plank loose under the single bed nearest the window for future reference. The TV wouldn’t find the WiFi so we didn’t use it. We aren’t big TV watching people but may be a problem for a tele addict who visits in the future. Not a massive issue but a hair dryer would be a nice addition to the bedroom too. The freezer inside of the fridge will need defrosting as it was impossible to get anything bigger than an ice pack into it. That said, we did enjoy our stay and found the site itself very tidy and welcoming. We would happily come again on the assumption that general maintenance would have been finished on the issues mentioned.
