Holly Lodge

The lodge was spacious and well equipped in a peaceful location .

We loved the upstairs lounge and flexible lounge kitchen area which was also very comfortable . The shower toilet rooms were all spacious . The dining table and second outdoor table all perfect for our needs . Are only collective negative were the beds which were all too soft for us . The other thought which would have enhanced our stay would be two more chairs in the upstairs lounge which was large enough to accommodate as there was eight of us and the seating is for six , seat fights ensued ! . We all felt that the accommodation surpassed the on line pictures looking brighter and cleaner when we arrived and would recommend any family or group to stay there . Thankyou for a lovely holiday

Came here for a girly getaway, absolutely fantastic place, we all enjoyed it , immaculate, very large property to cater for larger groups, gorgeous surroundings and well looked after , owner very friendly and chatty , would definitely return and recommend to others

The hot tub was great after a busy day out and about. Our dogs loved the outside space too. The surroundings are so peaceful so a lovely relaxing holiday.

This was our 2nd visit to Holly Lodge and once again did not disappoint, lovely welcome pack, tea coffee eggs and beautiful flowers, we were very blessed with the weather, sitting with breakfast outside watching the little lambs running about playing, ideally located within a short drive to lots of things to do and explore then home for a relax in the hot tub.

We will most definitely be returning for another visit, the host Russel and his family are lovely and have catered for everything you could need.

Holly Lodge is beautiful, it is very clean and homely and guests are greeted with a lovely welcome basket.

The location in the Weish countryside is amazing, gorgeous views from the lodge with lambs running around in the fields. Lovely hot tub in the garden and an enclosed area for dogs. Would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Solid 10/10, lodge was very clean inside/out, highly maintained. Can’t Thank Russel (host) enough for his kindness and respect. Super fast replies and very fast to sort out anything. Really enjoyed and 100% recommend for a group or family! Furthermore, plenty of places around to visit, lovely view just up the field in the back yard!!

A brilliant property in a beautiful location.

There was everthing we needed for a relaxing break as a group of friends. Walks straight from the doorstep. A beautiful view up the hill from a huge window in the lounge. Loved the hot tub. Would love to return and explore the area.

Easy to find, lots of parking, views and countryside beautiful. The Lodge is stunning with everything you require, lots of space for everyone to find quiet spots when required. Three generations of our family spent a wonderful week at Holly Lodge and found it to be the perfect countryside retreat which is very easy to find.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed — with a thoughtful hamper, fresh flowers, and a handwritten card awaiting us on the kitchen island, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. The lodge is beautifully presented: spacious, comfortable, and surrounded by peaceful rural scenery. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped — I even baked fresh bread and made a quiche during our stay. We particularly enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub on the patio and strolling along Offa’s Dyke, which runs along the property boundary. Holly Lodge offers a wonderful blend of comfort, tranquillity, and thoughtful touches. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a restful and memorable escape.

Everything we could have hoped for.

Beautiful accommodation, set in beautiful countryside. Our two year old grand daughter loved the goats , sheep and chickens Our dogs loved the large, secure open field at the front of the property And for the adults - a hot tub, and log burner. Would highly recommend this property.

Holly Lodge is a wonderful property with stunning views.

The property was clean and well maintained. Russell was fab and on hand if we ever needed anything (we requested a food waste bag and he was there immediately). The welcome basket was a lovely touch and the fresh eggs were so delicious. You can see the chickens and they truly are free range. With Russell's permission we fed the chickens and goats every evening with appropriate food. It became a daily routine for us and we loved interacting with the animals! The garden is fully enclosed so no worries about our dog, who loved watching all the animals. The hot tub was great and allows you to absorb the wonderful views. Walk to the top of the field or into the second field behind and you can see even more. Upstairs is quite noisy when you're downstairs so I'd suggest maybe more carpet/rugs up there to help with the noise of people walking around. Fab area, plenty of walks and shops. A great stay and we would return.

This is an excellent property and well deserving of its 5 star rating.

It is very comfortable and spacious with everything you need for your stay. It is presented and furnished to a high standard and is spotlessly clean, even the recycling and refuse bins in the shed were spotless. Lovely views over the fields and the sheep and chickens were very entertaining. The location is good, with many walks from the door, and just a short drive away from supermarkets and places to eat. We could not fault this property and would definitely recommend it to others.

Holly Lodge is a wonderful tranquil place with amazing views.

The owners are always on hand to help and went out of there way to send information to me beforehand to help me settle my disabled son in quickly. My son loved the swings and the hot tub overlooking the view was amazing. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and the eggs are amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend for children with learning disabilities and autism who struggle with sensory issues. It is so quiet and calm it was the best holiday ever for my son who was calm the whole time. Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back

A lovely property and everything you need is provided especially in the kitchen .

A lovely welcome pack was such a nice touch . A larger TV downstairs is the only thing I think would improve the property . Our dogs had plenty of room to run and play and the farm animals were great entertainment .

Loved Holly Lodge!

We stayed in Holly Lodge as a family of 5 (4 adults & 1 child) & 3 dogs. Firstly when entering the property its was very clean, well presented & the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The property is lovely & spacious. We loved the hottub & the upstairs living room over looking the field of sheep. Great walks from the property so very easy for anyone who has dogs & also the enclosed garden is perfect for those warmer days when you want to keep the patio doors open. Great for all ages, my 3 year old lad had the time of his life & enjoyed going on the swings in the garden & going to see the goats. Overall we had a fantastic time & would highly recommend Holly Lodge to anyone. Owners very friendly & quick to respond if you need anything at all. Thanks for a great holiday.

Holly Lodge is the most wonderful place.

This was our second time here and we are already booked for another holiday this summer. We are aged 91 to 19 and loved by us all. We love being able to take our 3 dogs with us and they love it too!

Wonderful cottage in a surprisingly family friendly location.

House was wonderful with amazing indoor and outdoor spaces. It is a place to relax and enjoy the company of your guests. Hosts were extremely accommodating. Local walks were great and Montgomery with Castle ruins and charming town is wonderful place to visit. Lots of local amenities, supermarkets and places to eat. Would recommend to anybody.

We had an absolutely fabulous time.

Holly Lodge was absolutely beautiful. Owner Russell checked in on us without being intrusive and also helped us hide our car for a surprise for one of our guests celebrating a special 50th birthday! The welcome gifts had been an amazing touch that we had all been over the moon with. Facilities and cleanliness are amazing. Couldn't have asked to anything more. Hope we can return!

This was an absolutely beautiful property with everything you will need for a relaxed stay … even had a welcome basket with Prosecco and delicious fresh eggs as the owner has chickens.

The hot tub was maintained every morning and the views are stunning. If you venture out make sure you go to the Raven Inn, Welshpool .. food was stunning! Thanks so much for the hospitality we will definitely be booking again next year. A few things that would make it perfect would be a full length mirror somewhere, an EV charger and the hot tub to be covered so it can be used in all weathers :)

We had a fabulous stay over Christmas for 9 nights. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Stunning location with beautiful views. Facilities amazing with a well equipped kitchen. All the bedrooms/bathrooms are decorated to a high standard. Beds were incredibly comfortable. The hosts were very attentive and responded quickly to any queries.

It was clean, well equipped, comfortable and great communication from the owners. Welcome basket was a lovely touch. We were a group of 7 adults, a toddler and infant, plus 2 dogs. There was plenty of room for us. The kitchen, dining area was great for cooking and socialising and then the upstairs with the log burner great for relaxing in the evening. The washing machine and dryer were also an added bonus. And of course everyone made full use of the hot tub! We would certainly look at coming back again we enjoyed our time so much the group are making it an annual get together.

Perfect!

Holly Lodge, is adult, child and dog friendly. It is set in a beautiful part of Mid Wales, with stunning views. Spotlessly clean and very welcoming, Holly Lodge offered everything you could wish for a perfect holiday. The hot tub was an added bonus! Russell was a great host ( not intrusive but helpful if required) and the welcome gifts were much appreciated. We didn’t want to leave!

Completely clean, smelled fresh despite being a pet friendly lodge, communication was brilliant. Comfy beds and lovely furniture. It was a home from home and we loved our stay and would go back happily for another stay.

The oven did work but was VERY slow to reach temperature so most things took twice as long to cook as they should. In general the house could just do with a bit of touching up, painting etc but still a great place to stay

This property is absolutely outstanding - we went away as an extended family including our dogs and we had the most relaxing time.

The rooms are very comfortable and sizable and there are ample bathroom facilities. We all enjoyed relaxing in front of the log burner upstairs and made much use of the fantastic hottub! The kitchen is really well equipped and there was a lovely welcome message and package for our arrival. Russell is a wonderful host and very kindly even offered to take us to town in his pickup due to the floods whilst we were there! It is a peaceful location surrounded by green fields - the garden is very secure. We hope to be back for longer next time!

The lodge was spotlessly clean, the facilities were excellent.

Russell the host, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. It is in a wonderful location with local walks as well as being a good base to go further afield. There was good information in the lodge about things to do. Plenty of secure space outside for the dogs and great to unwind in the hot tub at the end of the day. The welcome pack was particularly good, by far the best we have received. We will definitely go back and recommend the property to anyone wishing to spend time with family and friends.

It’s a lovely venue. The host was attentive but not intrusive. The accommodation was perfect for us. Very very clean, great kitchen and bathrooms. Spacious bedrooms with comfy beds. The dogs were safe in the fenced area. Views are stunning. Very peaceful watching the sheep. Hot tub was very clean and warm - a highlight. Would definitely book another stay.

We had a wonder stay over a 3 night weekend, the lodge was accurately described and there was plenty of room for 8 people and one dog without it feeling cramped.

The owners were nearby if needed. It was lovely to have a bottle of fizz on arrival along with biscuits, coffee, milk and wonderful eggs. The logged burner was amazing as was the hot tub. The lodge would be a perfect place for a large family at Christmas

Russell the owner was very helpful advising us places to eat etc that were wheelchairs friendly for one of our guests and when a small item of minimum financial value but high emotional value was left behind he posted it out free of charge. Holly lodge was a fantastic property.

We were a family of 5 plus our dog the lodge was perfect for all of us. The garden was safe and secure for Teddy. Inside the property everything was immaculate. Very well decorated and tastefully furnished to extremely high standards. Everything you could ever need was provided. The welcome pack was beyond generous. Jessica’s eggs were beautiful and huge you could tell happy cared for hens had laid them. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub including its built in Bluetooth speakers. The area was good and easy to get to both Shropshire and of course Wales. With supermarkets only 10 minutes drive away in Welshpool. We would have no hesitation in recommending Holly lodge and would love to return . Thankyou to Russell and his family for a very enjoyable comfortable stay.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Holly Lodge.

The lodge was immaculate, with a very generous welcome pack including a bottle of prosecco and a dozen fresh eggs. The property is directly on the Offa's Dyke path and there are many other lovely walks in the immediate area. The host was really helpful and non-intrusive. We visited Montgomery and enjoyed fish and chips whilst exploring 'Monty'. We also visited Berriew, enjoying a lovely walk along the canal and river before enjoying lunch at The Horseshoes pub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to visit the area again.

The lodge is fantastic, finished in high specification. All the wood is pure solid wood. 100% spotlessly clean and very impressive. We stayed for 7 days from 20th to 27th may 2022 and we had a fantastic time. Russell and penny were amazing down to earth people. Hot tub was thoroughly checked, cleaned and sanitised daily. While we were there we spotted 36 different varieties of birds which was amazing. One of which was a very rare honey buzzard. Also red kites, buzzards, woodpeckers lots of jackdaws and carion crows, Swift's and swallows. Holly lodge is a must stay for bird watchers like us as we were amazed at what we were seeing. Also lots of wild rabbits at the top of the field to which we were only 4 feet away from them. Suggest a good pair of binoculars or high zoom camera to get the best pictures. Also Jessica's chicken's freshly laid chicken eggs were scrummy and lovely we loved them so much we purchased 2 and a half dozen before we left as we have never tasted eggs so good. The views from Holly lodge were brilliant, nice and silent throughout the day and night. Shops were not far away and Powys castle was 10 minutes away and is a must visit place it's breathtaking inside and out. We will definitely 100% be booking again as this lodge is truly amazing and spectacular. Thanks once again to the owners for a chance to stay at such a beautiful, well equipped, very high specification lodge......Simon Moreton...

The property is lovely.

Its really clean. The furniture is excellent quality. I like the fact that its really spacious and done up to a really high standard. I just wish that the weather would have been a bit better.

Lovely views, really clean and well fitted out accommodation. The owners are friendly but not intrusive, really friendly family who let our daughter feed the chickens, lambs and also see their litter of puppies. We didn’t realise there would be sheep and chickens in view, which was a bonus for us as the lambs were adorable to watch, also for our dog though so hope his barking wasn’t too annoying to the neighbours! Hot tub is really well maintained and clean. Thanks for a great stay, will recommend.

I have nothing at all to criticise, the experience was a pleasure form start to finish.

The listing was accurate, the booking process a breeze and very transparent. The lodge is really very lovely, spacious, very clean and well maintained, the accommodation was big enough to accommodate 4 adults, 2 children, an 11 month old and a lively dog with ease. Beautiful spaces to socialise and very close to a lovely country walk. The views are lovely creating a very relaxed atmosphere and the hot tub is a lovely facility. Would recommend to anyone.

Holly Lodge is beautiful!

We stayed for a family birthday and had he most relaxing time. The lodge is completed to such a high standard and has everything you could need. The Evans family made us feel very welcome with a welcome basket and fresh eggs for our breakfast. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and in front of the log burner with a glass of wine. There was plenty of room for my little one to explore and a lovely field to walk our dogs in. We can't wait to come back again next year!

The welcome basket was a nice touch and the lit Christmas tree when we arrived was lovely for the kids. The owner kindly went out of his way to make sure we had a high chair for our stay which was very kind. House was very clean and tidy and the beds were extremely comfy. We've just returned from a week at Holly Lodge and can honestly say that this was the most modern and clean property we have ever stayed at in the UK!

Holly Lodge is ideally located for exploring Mid-Wales, either by car or on foot and being recently finished to a very high quality, had everything we needed and then some. Everyone in our party of four was sad to leave - Highly recommended.
