Heaven on earth … not a bad word to say about our most beloved retreat .

It was an amazing location, we are highly likely to come back.

My only (personal) critique would be a blind on the front door. The tree out front is all lit up beautifully and it was lovely to look out in the evening, but it makes the room very light all night so using the sofa bed with my young son was quite difficult. I had to make a cushion wall to block the light to his face as not risk him being woken. That been said, Oscar loved his first holiday. We would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's perfect for an active couple/young family.

This place was magical quite, peaceful with beautiful views prefect for unwinding and recharging.

What an amazing place for a relaxing break.

Hosts very friendly and helpful. Venue is best suited for two. My late afternoons sat in the hot tub watch up to 15 Red Kites circling was some thing I will not forget. Thank you for a super week.

The valley is so beautiful and quiet. A few things need sorting but didn't bother us - the door to the bedroom wouldn't close properly and the clock was broken. The tv keeps disconnecting from the wifi when on netflix and needed to manually connect it again but we knew the wifi would be temperamental (maybe as it connected to the guest account and not the 'Hobbit House' password protected one). Thanks again for a wonderful stay

Had a lovely stay, beautiful location, loved the hobbit house feel, the hot tub was a real plus for us and we appreciated the covered patio area for sitting outside whatever the weather.

Small but perfect.

Very comfortable stay in a beautiful location. Isolated but also well placed to get to variety of locations. Much preferred to the crowds in other areas.

A beautiful stay and it looked just like the pictures.

So peaceful and the surroundings were incredible. Lots of lovely days out as well and the hosts were lovely helping with the Hot tub before we arrived. Would definitely recommend! The local pub was great, and there is a petrol station close by as well.

Lovely little hobbit hole, perfect for our honeymoon!

Really cosy and comfortable. Not much to do in the area and the pubs/restaurants are very expensive. But can drive out to attractions. Loved the hot tub. Definitely will be returning one day

Simply Beautiful…location, property, surroundings, wilderness, nature…perfect get away to switch off and unwind.

Attention to detail that others can only aspire to…from the welcome gifts to the extra blankets and little touches that make it feel like home, albeit only for a few days.

We really enjoyed our stay, the views were amazing and it was very quiet and peaceful.

The property was perfectly clean and we had everything we needed. The only negative we had was the tob tub, we couldn't get the temperature above just about warm even after hours of waiting and keeping the fire going but we expected that would be the case so didn't bother us too much. We would happily stay again

Beautiful week in the Welsh countryside in this lovely little hobbit hole.

The location is absolutely stunning, you get views of the mountains from every direction. The hob tub is great once it does get up to heat which we had a little trouble with the first couple of days but after speaking with the host they helped us out and by the time we had returned on Monday night, the tub was up to heat and was fantastic to get into after a long day of adventures. We were welcomed with prosecco, waffles and crisps when we arrived which is a lovely touch. The bed is extremely comfortable, we didn't sleep on the sofa bed but it was very comfy to sit on. The TV doesn't have any signal to pick up normal channels but if you have Netflix or YouTube you can sign in and watch that with no trouble at all. The USB/iPod Music dock didn't work for us which was a shame. The only downside was the endless amount of bluebottle flies which were constantly in the kitchen, this is not down the hosts, I think its the time of year and the location. Amazing stay and great base for adventures in mid wales.

The perfect property for a relaxing break.

Breath taking scenery and very remote without feeling isolated. The house was very clean and well kept. We did have a few flies the first evening but nothing that caused a problem. The hot tube took some work to heat up but once it did we never left it! We will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a relaxing and chilled out holiday, stop scrolling, book this!

We went for 4 nights (wanted longer but it was booked up) and from stepping out of the car I felt immediately relaxed. The accommodation is remote with some very steep windy roads. The mile road to the accommodation was challenging (single lane, very steep inclines) but once you have navigated this wow what a view! You don't need to take anything with you (tea coffee etc supplied and a full kitchen including bottle opener!) the only complaint was the TV didn't have work, we couldn't get any channels only YouTube. The hottub took a bit of time to heat up, but once it did we we're in it all the time. The views were spectacular and the cheeky sheep which kept escaping gave us endless laughs. To sum up. This was an amazing holiday with gorgeous accommodation and amazing views.

Stayed here for a week and it was the perfect base to explore and enjoy the wonderful scenery that North Wales has to offer.

This is my favourite place I've stayed in, in years!

They are so welcoming and had the hot tub started so on arrival we were able to get in after a long drive. It was so clean and just so peaceful and stunning here. I've told my friends about it and we're planning on booking next year both huts as a getaway super excited for this!

We absolutely loved our stay in south Snowdonia and this wonderful hobbit house!

This home truly has had so much love, attention and detail put into it. Despite its small size, you have a great living space, kitchen space and bedroom! The owners have thought out everything - from built in storage to the black out window blind for the circular window. The owners were also so warm and welcoming and very accommodating. We had a lovely welcome hamper and they were on standby for when we couldn’t get the outdoor hot tub fired up. They went the extra mile to setting it up, and checking on it whilst we were out! We fell in love with the area - the views from the cottage were breathtaking and you’re on the doorstop of the most incredible hikes in wales! We loved every minute of our stay - thank you! The only feedback we would provide is not having enough space to dry our wet hiking gear as there is only one small towel rail in the bathroom. It might also be a good idea to supply disposable slippers and/or robes for the outdoor hot tub! Other than that - we couldn’t fault it!

Overall an absolutely lovely place to stay.

Very clean. Beautiful views. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the smell of damp was quite evident as soon as we arrived. The owners had provided a dehumidifier but the damp still affected my husbands chest and sadly we had to go home a day early. The owners very kindly reimbursed us for this. If the damp could be sorted, then this place would be a perfect getaway

Great quirky cottage but if you have asthma or any respiratory issues there’s a dehumidifier in the property which needs to be left on all day!

I asked why? because damp or mould can cause problems. Had no response from Sykes or the owner about it, but I feel some people need to know this before booking. The hot tub took a minimum of three hours to heat, and still didn’t get hot enough for us. Never had an issue before but could have been because in cold weather it just doesn’t work as well. The cowl was missing off the chimney too. Very disappointed with the hot tub and won’t book a property with a wood fired tub again. The WiFi was off more than it was on during our stay and there is no phone signal so bear this in mind. Aside from the issues we had a lovely time, the area is absolutely beautiful

This was a fabulous property - the living accommodation was exceptional with everything available, clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished, The scenery around the property and the area in general was stunning.

The owner was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this property.

Had a lovely stay here, was so peaceful .

Beautiful views , perfect location , hot tub was amazing to relax in the evenings . Owners were very helpful . Came around with more logs when we ran out and Only £5 a bag . Place was beautiful inside with top quality furnishings , nothing was cheap in this property. My only thing I would say is be mindful of closing the bedroom door fully as my daughter got locked in . We climbed through the window to get her out. We let the owners know and it’s something they fix regularly and are aware of. Other than that I couldn’t fault it and would Definitely stay again.

In a beautiful peaceful setting. Three of us went to celebrate a 50th birthday. We totally relaxed on the outside decking by watching and listening to nature all around us - sheep, pheasants and even a couple of Red Kites! The hot tub was amazing, especially at night. And the hosts were very helpful with setting it up. Hobbit hole so quirky and immaculate with plush soft furnishings and quality appliances. A lovely gesture was the welcome basket of Prosecco, crisps, waffles and a pint of fresh organic milk. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to return with hubby next time. Perfect. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Such a brilliant place, felt very chilled out staying here.

Loved sitting out in the hot tub taking in the scenery and wildlife whilst enjoying the peace. The hobbit hole was perfect, had everything we required and was a cosy place to stay. There was a surprising amount of activities nearby too, so a brilliant place to base yourself and venture out for the day.

Total isolation, can't even see the people in the other lodge unless you go to one edge of the hot tub haha. We were honestly sooooo relaxed. So sad for our amazing week to end. Unfortunately gandalf didn't come for a visit but we were visited by many sheep and lamb

Fantastic property making full use of the available views.

Quiet and peaceful but near enough to several outdoor venues making it an ideal base for hill walking, but also plenty to do in the area for the less adventurous.

We loved our stay here, it was perfect.

It was the perfect location for all the adventuring we wanted to do around Snowdonia and the local walks were so scenic too. The owners were so kind and we’re on hand for anything we needed. The hot tub is a nice touch and makes the experience of staying there even better! Could not recommend this holiday property enough - would definitely stay again.

Our stay at Nant yr Esgair was absolutely magical, we had an incredibly pleasant stay during the coldest week of the year.

The facilities were excellent and provided a comfortable and romantic getaway in the heart of Wales.

The place is amazing, the setting, the sheep and the landscape makes it a really special place.

The hot tub is warmed with logs, which gives it character, but it does make heating it an ongoing endeavour in the winter. The local walks are lovely. The owners are very helpful and were always available to assist with anything we needed.

We had a truly magical and memorable stay in such beautiful surroundings.

The attention to detail and the customer service were second to none.

This property is truly unique and makes the most of the beautiful surroundings.

The owners couldn’t do enough for us and the welcome gifts were very much appreciated. The space was large enough for a family of 4 and had been really thoughtfully furnished. The hot tub was a real treat and as it was wood burning, it was something we had to do purposefully which added to the overall experience of relaxation and immersion in the surroundings.

Absolutely amazing stay - the photos of the property do not even do it justice it’s that great, loved the attention to detail of the design of the place, adding speakers into the roof was ideal!

Lovely to be welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and all the essentials we needed Thanks again for a great stay - will be recommending to friends!

Excellent luxury hobbit home!

Everything was spotlessly fresh and clean, kitchen is well-equipped, outdoor seating and hot tub is a great and the host was friendly and helpful. The immediate area is very beautiful and quiet, and Barmouth and Fairbourne nearby with trains to Harlech made for interesting days out. Two of us enjoyed a cosy and peaceful time away. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Honestly wish we could've stayed longer.

It was perfect and my heart hurts a little no longer being there. If you want an escape from all the stress going on in the World - this is the place for you. I can safely say that I will 100% be returning.
