From the door there are plenty of wonderful walks, including the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, a breath-taking location standing at 240 feet high, it's an impressive landmark and Britain’s tallest single drop waterfall.
Those keen to get their steps in can explore the famous Offa’s Dyke Path, a 177 miles walking trail which loosely follows the England/Wales border, you can hop on it near Welshpool, or head to Oswestry and while you’re there you can discover the British Ironwork Centre, Old Oswestry Hill Fort, and the Park Hall Countryside Experience.
If watersports are your passion, sailing and fishing can be enjoyed at Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, or hop on a steam train at the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and marvel at the countryside from a different perspective.
With all this, along with Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in easy reach, a holiday at The Sheep Shed ticks all the boxes.

Peaceful, surrounded by sheep, in the heart of a hiker’s paradise. Dan and Emily are very welcoming; they went out of their way to fulfil all our wishes and more. It was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the hot tub – after a long hike, it was pure relaxation. We can highly, highly recommend Dan and Emily’s Sheep Shed.
The Sheep Shed provides excellent accommodation in a lovely setting in a beautiful part of Wales.
It is remote, private and a total escape from everyday life. Should you need anything, however, the owners are always available to help and advise. We began to relax the moment we arrived and were sorry to leave at the end of our stay.

The sheep shed is a superb facility, with fantastic views. Very comfortable beds and sofas. It was really nice for the accommodation to be decorated for Christmas with our stay being over new year. Dan and Emily went above and beyond throughout our trip and would highly recommend a stay here as we already have done to friends and family.

The property is finished to a very high standard and is in a beautiful quiet setting with wonderful views. It is even better than described/shown in the listing. We felt instantly relaxed and comfortable! It is clear that the owners take real pride in ensuring their guests have the best holiday! We noticed the guest book was filled with overwhelmingly positive comments and there were multiple guests who had revisited year after year. We were not at all surprised by this and plan to stay here the same time of year next year ourselves. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

The Sheepshed has thoughtfully been designed and built, resulting in excellent accommodation: spacious, airy, comfortable and very relaxing.
The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming and very happy to help out with local knowledge of the area to ensure a memorable stay in this lovely part of Wales . We will be back :)
Amazing from start to finish.
Dan was an amazing host would recommend this place for a couples quiet get away or even for a small family holiday. We stayed for our honey money the place was well equipped and exactly what we needed.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Dan met us on arrival and showed us around the lodge, he also gave us information on local walks and places to eat. He was very attentive and was always happy to help with anything. The lodge was spacious, well equipped and very clean. There were many little touches which made our stay even better. The location is beautiful and very quiet, a perfect place to get away from it all. We will certainly be returning in the future.

When you visit The Sheep Shed - IT REALLY IS! From the minute we walked in we saw how Dan and Emily had worked hard to build something amazing. Little touches like Welsh Tea and Welshcakes left on the table. Dressing gowns for use in the Hot Tub. Super clean work surfaces and floors etc. We loved every minute of our stay. Dan checked the Hot Tub daily and we stood and chatted about what he would do that day. Emily popped up and we chatted about the family. A genuinely lovely couple and we will definitely be back for another stay.

Just had an amazing week at The Sheep Shed.
Dan and Emily were super hosts and we couldn’t fault anything. We were tucked away in a quiet location with the sound of a running river and lambs bleating, instant stress relief! The lodge itself had everything we needed and we were sad to leave! The hot tub was an added bonus. There is no light pollution so the stars were phenomenal from the tub. If you have stumbled upon this lodge, book it, you won’t regret it! Thanks Dan and Emily.

Wonderful views, great fun watching the antics of the spring lambs and tranquil. The property is very well appointed, clean and maintained. Dan and Emily are excellent hosts, Dan checking the hot tub water daily despite being peak lambing season!

Location was fantastic - beautiful views, great walks from the door and very private and quiet. The views from the bedroom were breaktaking to wake up to. Every little thing had been thought of to ensure a comfortable holiday. Dan and Emily were very helpful giving great recommendations but not intrusive. We think we have found the perfect holiday home in the Sheep Shed.
It is generously sized, warm and comfortable with quality furniture and fittings, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the most beautiful surroundings. Dan and Emily were brilliant hosts and we could not have wished for a better few days of rest and relaxation. We will return!
We stayed at the Sheep Shed for our 2 week honeymoon following our December 2024 wedding.
We have been home for 2 days and we have already started planning going back for next year's holiday! Dan and Emily are absolutely amazing, really friendly and always around if we needed anything. We loved the holiday and highly recommend it!
The Sheepshed is probably the nicest property we have ever stayed in and there have been many.
The views are stunning and the property itself is beautiful. There is so much space, so much comfort and even the bathrooms warranted some photos! The bedroom with the whole window view was stunning, the decking area and hot tub is lovely and Dan maintains the hot tub daily. This is not intrusive and was really lovely to be able to ask questions about the local area and get tips on where to go and the best butchers etc. The property has had so much thought put into it to make it perfect. Dan and Emily could not have been more helpful during our stay and we would 100% recommend the Sheepshed. You will not be disappointed!

The views are breathtaking from the balcony. The hot tub was gorgeous which we both especially loved. The whole place is done to a very high standard. Fantastic place to stay , what a location and view "stunning" everything you needed was provided all you need to take is food and drink.
The hot tub was used every day ,did a few local trips within an hour away (Waterfall walk and Shrewsbury Prison guided tour )well worth it. We had a great time and can't praise the owners enough, loved it thank you.

Just what we were looking for as a countryside relaxing retreat. Dan met us on arrival with the cutest farm puppy Fearne who would make anyone smile. Dan was more than happy to help with anything we needed. He gave us suggestions of things to do and places to go. The accommodation was immaculate and you can see that the hosts take pride in their property regarding upkeep, cleanliness and customer satisfaction. The hot tub is a welcome luxury after a day out walking and this is checked daily for any abnormalities. You can choose to use either a shower or bath with two separate bathrooms. Waking up to the beautiful views and seeing the sheep grazing was beautiful and if the weather is rainy then there’s board games to play and washing facilities so your clothes don’t stay damp. The smart TV also provides live TV and allows you to login to Netflix or Prime if you want to catch up on any programmes. The beds are comfortable and towels, robes, slippers and utensils are all provided. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. There are plenty of walks available and a list of things to do that Dan assists with. We’ll definitely be returning for much needed relaxation in the future.
What an absolute GEM of a find….
.The Sheep Shed is just an amazing place, we didn’t want to leave. Dan & Emily are fantastic hosts, they are just the best at what they do. The finish and cleanliness of the property is impeccable and the location is stunning…proper off grid for total relaxation, it was just what we needed. The facilities are fabulous and it has everything that you need. It has plenty storage for your clothes, a full fridge and freezer which is handy due to its remoteness. The gas bbq was easy to use and really well maintained. We also made use of the empty draw in the kitchen for all our consumables. The Sheep Shed had a ‘villa’ feel to it and on warmer days when you opened up the sliding doors to proper brought the outside in. The hot tub was beautiful and maintained every day, it was especially great at night if you like to watch the stars. We loved exploring farm too and we can’t wait to return to do it all again.

The Sheep Shed is a wonderful holiday location, set in the Welsh hills it is a peaceful gem, very comfortable with beautiful views.
The hot tub is a added bonus especially after a day out walking. Dan & Emily are fantastic hosts, always on hand, if needed, with info about the surrounding area's and where to go. The only downside about this holiday is that 7 nights were over far too quickly, we would love to go back again soon. Thankyou Dan & Emily for a great, relaxing week.

On arrival the property was spotlessly clean and welcoming with wonderful views. Dan and Emily at hand to assist if required. Lovely walks from the property or a short drive away. Plenty of options for days out, equally a wonderful place to relax and enjoy if you required a quiet day. The balcony and hot tub a great place to unwind.
The Sheep She’s is a tranquil place, kitted out with everything you’d need for a restful holiday.
The mountain walks locally are amazing too, so would highly recommend
Emily & Dan (the owners) are amazing.
Dan and Emily were absolutely amazing! We had the most wonderful time with lots of new experiences. The views were stunning (Windows XP desktop vibes) and we were incredibly fortunate with the weather (Early May Bank Holiday). The Sheep Shed had everything and more for supplies and stargazing in the hot tub was an added bonus - we totally recommend that everyone try this at least once! We didn't need to use the heated flooring, we definitely want to return and experience The Sheep Shed in a different season and make use of the wood burner and heated floor.
The owners were more than willing to help and making sure we have everything that we need during our stay .

Emily and Dan were exemplary hosts of their fabulous sheep shed in beautiful Llanrhaeadr - this is the place for gorgeous walks, relaxing hot tub times, warm log fires, comfy beds and neighbourly sheep.
We stayed for NYE in 2023/2024 and had an absolutely wonderful time. We can't wait to come back soon!

We have just enjoyed 7 wonderful days staying in The Sheep Shed, the reasons for which are many.
However there is one that outshines all others and that is the hosts, Dan and Emily. Helpful, friendly, supportive, informative and attentive in the most understated but effective way we have ever exprienced. Their presentation of the Sheep Shed was beyond 5 stars, clean, bright, welcoming, comfortable, well supported by the fact that everything you could possibly need, let alone want was provided with a cocktail of subtlety and style. It created the most relaxing but also inspiring break we have ever enjoyed. The stunning scenery and vistas of the surrounding locale wasn't scruffy either! Our time staying at The Sheep Shed was just lovely.
The cabin itself is just stunning and decorated to a very high standard. It has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Dan and Emily have done an amazing job creating this haven and were very helpful during our stay. It is situated in the most spectacular scenery and such peaceful countryside, the only sound you can hear are sheep and birds! Which we loved. The added touch was the hot tub which was just lovely to use and take in the views of the green fields, sheep and birds of prey. I think we used the hot tub everyday, even in the rain! We would highly recommend staying here as it's truly beautiful and it will not disappoint. Thank you Dan and Emily for our lovely time here.

The owners Dan and Emily have truly built a pice of heaven here ,that will remain our favourite family holiday destination for many years to come. My only complaint is that we didn't book longer.

We have just had an extremely relaxing and restorative week's stay.
The situation of the Sheep Shed in the surrounding countryside and the privacy and peace this brings is not often found. All home comforts were provided. Our hosts were the right balance of attentive, responsive and welcoming but good at leaving us to it unless they were needed. The surrounding area has much to offer for treats and for yet more stunning scenery. And, who knew sheep behaviour could be so fascinating...! A memorable trip for all the right reasons.

The Sheep Shed is well equipped with everything you could want or need. We were very lucky with the weather too. Found place to go everyday. Dan was a delightful host easy to get along with and Emily was great for contacting us when need (re Key). We had such a great time, so relaxing, friendly and a wonderful place to base yourself. Dan and Emily are wonderful and helpful hosts. The house is perfect fantastic views and very quiet location. The hot tub was a real bonus even in December and at this time of year watching the 1,000’s of starlings flying low overhead every afternoon at 4 pm was magical. My only comment a few more kitchen knives and garlic press for those who like to cook would be handy but not real issue. Will we back yes we will

The Sheep Shed was renovated to a very high standard, it was exceptionally clean with everything that we needed provided. The freindliness and attentiveness of the hosts ensured that we had a very comfortable and relaxed holiday. I would highly recommend this holiday accommodation to friends, family and other people.

We were met and welcomed by Dan who must be congratulated on the accommodation that is an exceptional high standard and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The peace and quite and the views from the panoramic windows is a delight and for any stargazers then take your telescope because the clarity of the night sky is 100%. If you are interested in gardens then National Trust Powis Castle is a place to visit. For the more adventurous then the National White Water rafting center near Bala, a great cafe here perched on the edge where you can watch if you're not into getting into the action.

Totaly immaculate everything you’d expect from a 5* accommodation. You will want for nothing. The accommodation can only be described as wonderful. The views from Bedroom and decking area ate stunning. Main bedroom has full glass doors opening onto decking, Beds are perfectly made for your arrival with house slippers and dressing gowns The shower areas are very modern Hot Tub meticulously maintained by Dan. An amazing Gas BBQ, seating on decking with cushions. All this set amongst a genuine working farm in the distance. A little piece of Heaven on Earth. Top all this off with the two most friendliest, helpful hosts Emily & Dan you could wish to meet Would return at the drop of a hat Eddie & Sally
My partner and I had the actual greatest time and are still talking about our weekend getaway a whole month later.
Dan and Emily thought of absolutely everything when putting The Sheep Shed together. It was comfy, well stocked, pristine, and had gorgeous views. It was the perfect place to spend our first anniversary together, and we hope to return.

We’ve stayed at our fair share of cottages and this is by far the best location and finest finished property. If you have a keen eye and appreciate attention to detail then this is the place for you. The views are stunning and the property itself is pure quality (views from every room and everything works).
