Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge

This is our second time of visiting Mynnyd Y Glyn Lodge.

We absolutely love it, so much so that we are going there again in September. Our favourite holiday cottage. The isolation, the views and the stunning property itself with an enclosed garden for our dog are perfect for our needs.

The location is stunning and accomodation kept to a very high standard. If your looking for a peaceful, luxury holiday stay with plenty of things to do and see nearby this is for you. Definately recommend.

WOW!

What an absolutely perfect time me and my family had at Mynydd Y Glyn.. From the start when we arrive, Carole greeted us at the gate with a warm refreshing smile, such a beautifull soul made us so welcome and explained the basics for us to get settled. Secondly the views, WOW! A whole 360 degree perfect view that I could never get bored off. Stunning views all round. The cottage itself was extremely clean and brilliantly equipped. Soon as you walk in and see the amazing view greeting you to a utterly stunning Viewpoint from the window. Beds and sofa were extremely cosy. Both showers were immaculate. Complete interior and exterior of the cottage was beautiful presented. Love the cherry tree. Was abit unsure of how good the Logburner hot tub would be as always used full electric ones prior, however over our 3night stay we only needed to light a very small fire to get it from 31degree to ideal temperature. Lit a small fire and within 20mins it reached upwards of 38degrees. The view from the hot tub was even more relaxing. Only stopped 3 nights at the cabin but managed to visit three different sites. Barmouth, a lovely clean beach only a hour and 20min drive away. And the stunning Lake Vyrnwy Dam (25min drive) and Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall (25min drive). Great sites to see with such a short distance away. Finally the hosts, Ian and Carole, 2 amazing people. Ian dropped off 2 fans on the second night as the temperatures were really high, had a nice conversation with him. Carole such a beautiful soul who was so nice to speak with. Ian advised us to watch the sunset at the top of the hill (5min walk from the cottage). This was such a beautiful site to top of a fantastic stay at Mynydd Y Gyln.. P.S. thank you both for the kind hearted birthday gift and birthday card you gave my son and not forgetting my daughter. Kept us entertained on the journey home. This is a 5* property.

First it has stunning views. Then it’s secluded with no noise or light pollution. Everything here was extremely first class. The inside is great with nothing left to question there are even spares for items in the house like batteries fire lighters matches etc it’s very good. The owners Carol and Ian are very friendly and go above and beyond in order to make your stay an enjoyable one. There is plenty to see locally and within a one hr drive you can see plenty of the best places in Wales. Our dogs loved it as well being able to wander the grounds without worrying if they may upset neighbours or passing people as there aren’t any. We will be returning again next year and will be recommending to our friends it’s an absolute gem!

Had a really brilliant few days at the lodge.

The views from the lodge are absolutely amazing and far better than the website showed.. The lodge itself had everything you could want to make your stay comfortable and lots of little extras too. Carole and Ian were very friendly hosts and gave us a lot of useful information about the local area and places to visit. It was our first experience of a hot tub and we really enjoyed it. We would not hesitate to recommend the property and would definitely like to return at some later date.

WOW!

! Everything about our stay at Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge was fabulous. The lodge, the setting, the local area, the neighbours (sheep) and the owners, Carole and Ian. They are such warm, and welcoming people, and so helpful with knowledge on things to do locally. I’ve stayed in many lodges and this is definitely my favourite by far. Both the interior and exterior are stunningly beautiful, spotlessly clean and the welcome pack on arrival, with milk in the fridge, is a lovely and very thoughtful welcome. The beds are very comfy and the power shower in the en-suite is amazing. This was a Mum and Daughter week away, to relax and have some quiet time, away from the usual every day stresses, and I can honestly say the stress left us as soon as we pulled in to the driveway….just breathtakingly beautiful, quiet and calm. We booked again for next year during our stay, and are counting down the days already! Thanks you Carole, Ian and Charlotte

We had a fantastic short break here with our border collie.

The lodge is perfect, finished to a high standard with all the usual home comforts plus the added bonus of a wood fired hot tub & an EV charger if you need one. It's in a beautiful picturesque setting, very tranquil with only the sheep next door for neighbours. The garden is dog secure & the road to the lodge doesn't see much traffic. Carole & Ian are very friendly & not far away if you need anything or suggestions on where to go. Can't recommend this highly enough, we've already booked our return visit.

Carole and Ian were lovely hosts and so friendly.

The Lodge itself was spacious - the showers were huge and everything was so clean and well maintained. Everything you could possibly need is provided including cling film and baking paper! The bedrooms could do with some storage though as only 1 hanging rail in each room meant we had to pretty much live out of our suitcases for the week but this but just a small bug bear. Ian came to check everything was ok the morning after we arrived and then Carole and Ian brought more wood for the hot tub later in the week and were so lovely to chat to giving lots of tips. The walk up to the trig point in the next field gives spectacular views. The Lodge is perfectly situated for days out. We visited welshpool and Llanfair railway, Chester zoo, powis castle, Llangollen, Lake Vyrnmy and Betws-y-coed (the Fforest coaster at zip world was brilliant). Would highly recommend this Lodge.

Its 'ace' when you arrive at your holiday destination and everything you read and wanted is spot-on - 'parfait'!

That's what Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge and Vista is! We had a wonderful week some great local places to visit and to return to relax in a comfy and well equipped Lodge with amazing views. Brilliant sunsets! The frolicking lambs were to funny to watch at this time of year. Thank you for the welcome pack - very kind of you. Carole and Ian you are great hosts and what a 'gem' you have created for us to enjoy!

Mynydd y Glyn is very spacious, cosy, very well equipped and maintained and simply exceeded our expectations.

The view form the living room and terrace is stunning even on misty or cloudy days. The surrounding countryside offers lots of walks, for example up to the trig point behind the property, a round trip to Bwlchyddar or even all the way down to Llanfyllin. In addtion to the immediate surroundings, Pistyll Rhaeadr and Llyn Efyrnwy are in easy driving distance and highly recommendable locations to visit. In short we had an absolute lovely time in Mynydd y Glyn and highly recommend the property. Thanks to Ian and Carole for offering this amazing place and coming by to say hello.

Well what can I say but amazing!

!! The grounds the log cabin is on has the most amazing views what ever way you look. The grounds is also enclosed so we didn’t have to worry about our dogs getting out. The cabin was spotless, was well equipped for everything we needed. We even had a lovely welcome basket full of goodies which was a lovely suprise. The cabin was spacious and decorated modern which felt homely. Bonus was the log burner hot tub, which was very clean. The town was a 5 min drive if you need any supplies. The owners Carole and Ian are so friendly and welcoming. They have so much knowledge of the area and places to visit while you stay. The place is that nice and peaceful we have booked again for next year before we left. If you book this cabin you will not be disappointed.

Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge is absolutely heaven.

Set in the amazing Welsh country side. The lodge is in a remote location that doesn't disappoint on views. You have breath taking views of the valleys below you. Carole and Ian have thought of everything you would need for a cozy getaway. If you are taking your dog, they have a dog bed, blankets and every accessory you could imagine for your four legged friend. The kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room are stocked with everything you need. So there is no need to bring your own. Carole and Ian have truly made the lodge a home away from home. We loved Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge that much we have booked again for next year, while we were staying there this week. If you are after a totally relaxing, quiet and cozy place to unwind, then Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge is hands down the place to go. There are a lot of amazing places to visit if you want to venture out thanks to Carole and Ian's recommendations. There is also a well stocked information booklet in the lodge. 10 out of 10 for everything. Thanks for an amazing week ❤️

What a find, the listing looked good and the reality was even better.

Our hosts had thought of everything and it really was a home from home. Super comfy beds with quality bedding. Spacious shower rooms (great showers) with big soft bath towels. Fully equipped kitchen and utility room. Perfect picture window in the living room giving a view across the valley and amazing sunsets; stylish and very comfortable sofas. There are great views from every window in the home. Fabulous wood burning hot tub. Very private with the only neighbours being the sheep in adjacent field and a great garden for the dog to run around in. Great decking area for alfresco dining/drinks. Our hosts were really lovely and gave us plenty of suggestions for days out.

A beautifully located very high quality lodge with all round panoramic views.

Only two years old it is worthy of the accolades it has received and thanks to the friendliness of Carole and Ian who were very helpful when we had a problem. Ideally situated for visits to Lake Vyrnwy, Bala and other tourist spots it is a welcoming place to return to at the end of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge. We have stayed at over 40 cottages over the years.

When we found this Lodge on Sykes website, it looked impressive and the reviews were excellent. When we arrived for our holiday, we can honestly say that we were bowled over by the high standard of accommodation, the spectacular views from every side, and the attention to detail that led us to the conclusion that this was by far the best place we have stayed. The wonderful late September sunshine enabled us to fully appreciate not only the wide verandah ,hot tub and wrap around garden but also the beautiful surrounding area. We quickly settled in, enjoying the relaxing comforts and benefitting greatly from the rest. The friendly owners, Carole and Ian kept in touch and were at hand to answer any queries and to offer advice if needed. As you will tell we loved our stay, so much so that we have booked again for next year.

This is the best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in.

If anyone is thinking of starting a cottage business needs to stay here to know how it is done. It was perfect, it had everything, home from home. The setting was so peaceful, relaxing and 360 views that are fabulous. The owners are lovely people, checking in to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend

What a wonderful lodge and a wonderful week we had in Wales.

The property was immaculate and everything you could wish for, and more, was provided within the property including a welcome basket of essentials and goodies. Fantastic location and scenery for a peaceful, relaxing break. Plenty to do in the area, we had many enjoyable days out (mountains, beach, waterfalls, walks) and restful evenings with unspoilt views, peace and quiet. We'll be back!

This Lodge is ideally situated to explore the Welsh countryside.

There was plenty to do within a few miles but also very relaxing staying in at the property. The Lodge has been well equipped to a high standard, plush furnishings and good quality appliances. The WiFi is exceptional and we had no problems streaming on several devices at the same time. There was also a good selection of usb sockets for phones etc. The hosts are wonderful and were so welcoming. Our dog Jasper loved the enclosed space outside and the hot tub was so relaxing. The Red Kite birds of prey who hunt in the adjacent field gave us a lot to watch during our stay and I was lucky enough to see a Hare one morning, it came so close to the bedroom window. All in all a great location to stay for a relaxing break. Thank you Carole and Ian.

The lodge is very well equipped with all the essentials and it is exceptionally clean. The washer/dryer is a bonus too! Ian and Carole are fantastic hosts and lovely people who are easy to contact if you need anything or want any local knowledge. Would highly recommend to friends and family and hope to return soon.

Beautiful lodge and views, quiet and peaceful, quick response when the kettle decided not to work and had replacement later in the day.

Milk and teabags and snacks etc very nice after a long journey. Dog beds and bowls a lovely touch, we also brought our own which meant that they had a choice of beds!!. My little Yorkshire terrier loved running free around the garden with our cockerpoo in hot pursuit when she wasn’t watching sheep. A lovely relaxing time had by all.

The accommodation is great in an exceptionally beautiful location. Ian and Carole are great hosts, the house is more than worth five stars. Highly recommended!

We spent 4 nights at myndd y Glyn lodge and it was every bit as stunning and tranquil as we’d hoped.

Beautifully furnished, and located at the top of a hill with nothing but the stunning natural beauty of the Welsh countryside surrounding you. The hot tub was perfect, the enclosed garden ideal to allow our dog to explore and the local town had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. Ian and Carole were the perfect hosts and checked we had everything we needed. We will be back!

An exceptional property in terms of location and layout.

The 360 degree views are sublime. By far the cleanest self catering lodge we have ever stayed in. Nice little touches with the welcome pack, tea, coffee, sugar and milk, along with the little extras for our furry baby. Good supply of cleaning items, kitchen roll, toilet rolls, poo bags, bin bags etc. The hosts, Carole and Ian were very nice - they introduced themselves to ensure that everything was to our requirements without being intrusive. A great deal of thought has been put into making the lodge a 'home from home' experience which, in my opinion, the hosts have achieved to a high standard.

We had the most incredible break at Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge.

We were looking for a secure place we could take our dog, who can't be let off the lead, which would also be a good break as we have a 3 month old. Whilst we couldn't have been luckier with the weather, the lodge was nothing short of perfect. The garden was well gated and the hot tub was glorious. I haven't used a woodfired hot tub before so I have to admit I was hessitant when booking but it had already been heated up for our arrival which was really helpful and then it was very easy to maintain. In fact it was useful as the weather was so hot that we were able to use it cooled down. Carole and Ian were great hosts and couldn't have been more accommodating. We would love to visit again one day.

Excellent Lodge in a great location for a chilled and relaxing holiday.

The lodge is exceptional the owners have gone the extra mile to think of everything to make your stay comfortable. The Lodge is in an amazing position, if like us you wanted to escape the hustle and bustle.

It is just so tranquil! Sheep for neighbours ... just perfect! The Lodge is so well equipped, and we have stayed in lots of places. The owners go above and beyond. No limit on essentials. The wood for the hot tub was endless, and they even offered us more. I know some owners charge you extra for more wood. We just loved the views from every window. We loved watched the sunset from inside and outside. We would often sit in the hot tub, which we quickly got the hang of to get the temp exactly where we liked it. Having the floating temp gauge was sooo useful! Sitting in the hot tub watching the stars ar night also ....AMAZING!! The owners are lovely and full of suggestions of places to visit. We visited the lake and the waterfall, which were beautiful, and called for more supplies on the way back. We will be back when we need to escape again x The Marriotts x

Lovely cottage with stunning views.

The cottage itself was spotless when we arrived and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Even down to a lovely welcome basket on our arrival. I would absolutely recommend this lodge and would definitely stay again.

If it’s peace and quiet in a luxury lodge you are looking for, then this is the place for you.

We cannot recommend highly enough. Every possible need is catered for. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by countryside with no neighbours was just perfect. If you are taking a furry family member, then you also have peace of mind knowing that the perimeter to the lodge is fenced off as much as can be expected. You will not be disappointed

This was an amazing holiday experience for our little group and 2 dogs.

The surrounding areas were stunning and offered an amazing view. The property was very clean and fully stocked with everything you could need, including kitchen ware, cleaning supplies, and as added extras both dog and human treats were provided. The owners were extremely accommodating and provided extra wood for the wood fire hot tub. There are lots of things to do in the surrounding areas, such as the local walks up by the nearby waterfall and travelling through snowdonia national park. We experienced sun, snow, cloud and clear skies during our holiday, each day was different with a beautiful sunrise/ sunset. Would definitely recommend for a chilled break away.

This place is just wow.

Awesome views, fantastic property, all the bits you need and it is incredibly clean. You won't even find dirt in the places you don't normally look. The hosts are really friendly and you can tell it's a passion for them. Some worthwhile mentions - it has an EV charger, which particularly in Wales is extremely helpful. The hot tub is lovely and very easy to fire up. I recommend doing it a few hours early, but it is as straight forward as loading up some logs at the back and putting some kindling at the front, lighting and leaving it. Great grounds, and perfect if you have a dog. Securely able to run around the property. Even has a gated entrance. The utility room is handy if you're off on walks. There is a washing machine to spruce up any muddy towels, sink etc. The kitchen is well equipped. And we really loved the fact they provided a welcome hamper. It was the personal touches that made this place. We've loved it so much, we are coming back!

This property went above and beyond what we expected.

The hot tub was pre heated and well stocked with wood for the week. Amazon fire stick in TV meant we didn't have to faff around with our own, so easy access to entertainment. All the extras in the kitchen you don't think about bringing were much appreciated, aswell as the tasty nibbles and fizz, thank you. One and only request, would be more hooks in bedroom and extra pillows.

We stayed here over the Christmas period and it was absolutely gorgeous.

The lodge had everything we could possibly need and the hosts were amazing. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas with our children. Will 100% recommend to others looking for a relaxing stay away from city life!

Our stay at Mynydd y Glyn Lodge was absolutely perfect.

Surrounded by the most beautiful views, this place was the perfect spot for a much needed peaceful week away. The lodge itself was immaculate and beautifully designed, with a very cosy feel. The fully equipped kitchen was ideal for preparing meals & the beds were very comfy! We enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar in the morning & looking out at the snowy landscape which we were so very lucky to experience. The hot tub is also a standout feature & very relaxing of an evening. The location was more than ideal for us & plenty of space to let our dog roam; it was nice to know she was safe and secure. Carole & Ian were incredibly welcoming, providing detailed instructions for the lodge and thoughtful touches like a basket of local goodies, including Welsh cakes, bread, milk & tea on arrival. There was also a welcome basket for our dog, which came very handy! It’s clear they take great pride in offering guests an unforgettable experience. We loved every minute of our stay & hope to return back some time in the future!

Well what can we say, this is an absolutely stunning holiday lodge, very clean, spacious and everything is catered for, it really is outstanding.

It is set in the most beautiful, quiet, rural location in an elevated position with fantastic views all around. It was great to relax in the hot tub of an evening with a glass of wine, just taking in the surroundings. Carole and Ian are great hosts, really friendly and courteous and even helped with the local Doctors details when my Mum needed some medical attention. We cannot recommend Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge enough and already looking forward to our next holiday there.

This is a fabulous lodge in a peaceful, remote location with only sheep for neighbours!

This has been one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in, everything from a lovely welcome pack on our arrival to the Hot Tub with views and the enclosed garden for our chocolate Lab.

Fantastic place to stay.

Wonderful location, only down side is the grass needed cutting and the bed wasn't comfortable, needs bigger quilts.

The lodge was beautiful and spotlessly clean, lovely rural location with fantastic views, The hot tub was a great asset for relaxing in the evening's after busy days out.

Our stay was wonderful!

The quiet and peaceful location was ideal to switch off from day to day life and take in the beautiful views and surroundings! The lodge and grounds are secure which meant that our dog could roam freely whilst we were on the veranda or in the hot tub and had plenty of room to run around or to watch her new sheep friends. The lodge is well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay and the little welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. We loved our stay and hope to be back in the future!

An absolute gem in the heart of the Welsh countryside!

On arrival we were met by Carole and Ian who went through everything we needed to help us make the most of our mini weekend break away. The hot tub was so good! Easy to use and clean. The kitchen had absolutely everything you would need and much more, a gorgeous little welcome hamper for us and our dog. The dog was very happy in the garden ,plenty of room to run around and play and no places to escape as very secure. I have to say this is probably the nicest lodge we have stayed in by far , the scenery is so peaceful and quiet apart from the sheep but that's the beauty of the countryside. Highly recommended. We have more than 30 years of experience in renting holiday homes in the UK and this house is certainly one of the top 3. Carole and Ian are fantastic hosts.

Such an amazing lodge, views are stunning, very picturesque & it’s extremely peaceful!

We loved hot tub which was the perfect little extra to make your stay that extra bit special! The lodge is immaculate and has all you need, a real home from home. Carole and Ian are the best hosts we’ve had, very helpful, great advice/recommendations and nothing is too much to ask. We would have loved to have stayed longer and we hope to stay again!

Mynydd Y Glyn Lodge, exceeded all of our expectations.

It was much bigger than expected and the garden was perfect for our Cockapoo to burn off some energy without worrying about him getting out of the enclosed garden. We have stayed in a lot of properties but never one so clean! You could tell that a lot of care has gone into creating such a beautiful property. The property is surrounded by sheep fields and very rural (we were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on the first night!) but only a short drive to civilisation if needed, so you get the best of both worlds. I would recommend visiting Lake Vyrnwy its a really easy drive and has stunning views. The owners were really friendly and were available if we needed them. If you are looking to relax then this is absolutely the property for you. We will defiantly be returning!

Lovely cottage with great views.

Very peaceful and remote

This property is an absolute gem.

Tranquil setting with amazing views and so many beautiful places to visit nearby. The gardens are fully enclosed, which kept our dogs safe and secure. The accommodation is first class (spacious and much larger than it looks on the photos). We loved the wood fired hot tub. Many thanks to the owners for touching base on arrival and being available if required.

Beautiful lodge!

! Immaculate and had everything we needed and more. Extra touches for both us and the dog were lovely. The hot tub and views were amazing. The secure garden was great for the dog, he loved running around out there. Really good utility room, perfect for drying and wiping down the dog and leaving our shoes. We would recommend visiting Pistyll Rhaeadr and Lake Vyrnwy whilst staying. Thank you for a fab stay at your beautiful lodge, we would 100% look at coming back.

Having read some of the other reviews before we commenced our stay, we had relatively high expectations.

We were not disappointed. The lodge is spacious, modern, clean and well appointed, having a utility room so useful when the dog needs cleaning down:) We had everything we needed, and on the occasion we needed some extra logs for the hot tub, they were delivered promptly by Carole and Ian, who are also incredibly approachable and genuinely care about making sure your stay is the best it can be. We loved our stay, the views are breathtaking, especially from the hot tub whilst enjoying a cheeky glass. thanks Chris, Claire, Kath, Sam and Enzo

We have returned home after a week in this beautiful lodge.

It was a fantastic stay and the hosts were very friendly and always available to help when needed! Would highly recommend this lodge!

We absolutely loved our stay.

The property was beautiful, exsactly as pictured! Mentained fantastically too. The kitchen is fully kitted out with absolutely everything you would need from simple cooking to baking! What topped it off for us was the fact that our dog was provided with treats,bowls and towels and even extra leads and collar if needed! We had our son with us and they provided a lovely high chair and travel crib and even cutlery and bowls for children! When we needed extra kindling for the hub tub ( which has absolutely fantastic views

What an amazing place this is.

It’s in the middle of nowhere making it perfect to get away from normal busy life. The lodge is stunning and very comfortable. The owners left welcome baskets for us and the dogs. The lodge is very well equipped so need to take anything apart from food and drink. Having the luxury of a hot tub made it even more special. It’s perfect to take dogs as the grounds are fully enclosed. We will definitely want to go back here.

Absolutely expeceptional!

We have just returned from spending a week over Christmas here and left with wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime. The Lodge itself is stunning and completely Immaculate with everything that you could possibly need for your stay. Carole and Ian are wonderful and attentive hosts and went out if their way to make sure we were OK throughout our stay. The location of this lodge is literally in the middle of nowhere and the 360 degree views are outstanding. I cannot recommend this place enough it's literally a little piece of heaven

This accommodation is just what we were after.

It's honestly one of the most well equipped places we've been too. Lovely little touches like the welcome hamper, the texts to check in if we were alright and if we needed any help with anything and also a little doggie hamper too! Its in a lovely secluded area (no one looking in on you) so quiet and the views were just outstanding. With posting pictures on Instagram we've already recommended to lot of our friends who find it hard to find a nice place whilst bringing a dog. We'd definitely come back in a heartbeat if we are looking for getaway from the noises of work and the city. Couldn't recommend this place and the hosts enough! Great value for money.

The property was well appointed and set in a lovely location.

The layout works really well especially with the mud/utility room when entering where we could get the dog and ourselves dry before going into the main rooms. Everything was provided and I needed not to have packed some items as these had already been provided. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Everything was top quality and very cosy for an October half term get away. The views were amazing from every room in the lodge and the outdoor space was perfect for a dog and a 1 year old to both run around freely outside. The owners were perfect hosts. We will definitely be coming back :)

Absolutely loved our stay with our two young children at the Mynydd Y Glyn lodge.

We were made to feel really welcome by the owners and the lodge was well kitted out to a high standard with a lovely welcome pack. Great lodge on a family farm with gorgeous views across the Welsh countryside. Thanks again for a lovely holiday!
