Hi, We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in our Lodge. We try to provide all you should need for your arrival and feel we do go above and beyond what we do provide for our guests. But the Lodge is 'self catering' and we provide sufficient toilet rolls in each toilet for the start of your stay, namely 2 rolls in each toilet Elaine and Matt

Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the Mattress, this was addressed and the mattress replaced in April. We appreciate that mattresses are a personal preference but this particular one was highly recommended. The Entrance to the Site is outwith our control and the responsibility of the Site Owner. They are in fact separate sites which is why there is a dividing fence. This division was done early this year but we will raise the issue with the Site Owner that it needs to be rectified on the site map. Your feedback is important to us. Elaine and Matr

Thank you for the feedback. So sorry you found the Mattress uncomfortable in the upstairs bedroom but in fact this is a brand new mattress and only a few weeks old. Mattresses are a personal preference and we appreciate that we can't suit everyone. Apologies that you had a problem with the lock, but if the key is entered directly into the keyhole it does turn quite easily but we will get this checked out. feedback is always important to us. Thank you for the 'feedback'. We will investigate the long term dust and spiders webs. The Lodge is thoroughly cleaned between guests by our housekeeping team so hopefully these were on the wooden rafters outside the property. There are sockets in the Master bedroom beside the chest of drawers where the mirror is and also sockets in the downstairs bedroom which has a very large mirror on the wall which is easliy reached for hair drying purposes. Perhaps we need to advise this in our Information booklet.

Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the Lodge Temperature - apologies for it being cold on arrival, we usually expect the Housekeepers to ensure the Lodge is warm for your arrival. However, there are clear, printed instructions beside each radiator with instructions to adjust the radiators as needed. Not sure which telephone numbers you were using as the lodge is 'managed' on our behalf with 'Sykes', when they are contacted they ALWAYS phone us directly with any issues and we are able to instruct our housekeepers to deal with anything promptly or when we can, we contact guests directly ourselves. Our sincere apologies that this didn't happen. The Mattress in the upstairs Master bedroom is brand new and was replaced at the beginning of May 2024! Your 'feedback' is important to us and we will definitely investigate why there was no response to the telephone numbers. There are no other telephone numbers provided by us at the Lodge.

So sorry to read some of your issues. We do give clear instructions for the WiFi in the information booklet and not sure why it wasnt working for you during your stay. It can be temperamental which is not within our control. We do advise you of this in our information booklet. if you had contacted Sykes about the Hot Water and Boiler issue then we could have arranged for one of our Housekeepers to check out the problem and get it resolved. We are prone to power cuts in the area which may have occured during your stay, we do advise this in our information booklet and give clear instructions for the Boiler. There are also instructions next to the boiler. But thank you for staying in our Lodge and all Feedback is important to us.

Thank you for the Feedback. We appreciate your comments and hope to make some alterations to the verandah in the future to be able to accommodate a bigger hot tub. Currently a bit restricted with what can be there hence the smaller tub.

We are sorry to learn that you had a disappointing stay recently. The check in time and check out time are clearly stated when you book the property via Sykes. However, we can at times honour an earlier check in time and laer check out time if we are made aware and no other guests are due on those days at the Lodge. Unfortunately, during busy periods, we have to stick to rigid timetable to allow for full cleaning as well as Hot tub cleaning and maintenance checks between guests. Also, sorry to learn you found the mattress uncomfortable, not sure which one you are referring to but they have all been replaced recently. Have taken on board your other comments too.

HI Emma, Thank you for taking the time to provide this 'feedback. We are very pleased you and your family enjoyed staying at our Lodge but would like to respond to some of your concerns. We took ownership of the Lodge less than 12 months ago along with the furniture, fittings and Hot tub. We are gradually replacing items as necessary which is why 'feedback' is so important to us. Firstly, the door handles, this is the first time there has been an issue raised and did cause some alarm that you felt you could be locked in one of the rooms! I have had all the door handles thoroughly checked and although they are all as old as the Lodge and in line with the style of the Lodge, please be assured that they are in good working order. Secondly, the Hot tub - we agree the cover is 'tired' but definitely not waterlogged and foul smelling. it is thorouhgly cleaned after each guest whether that being weekly or in some cases can be 2 - 3 times per week depending on length of stays. We have tried to get a replacement cover but this is prvong very difficult due to the age of the Hot tub. Regarding the upkeep and the cleanliness of the Hot tub, this is emptied, thoroughly cleaned, disenfected and refilled with the PH of the water checked and chlorinated between guests. We do not have a Maintenance Team on such a small site for daily checks and are not allowed to leave such equipment out for guests due to the dangers to small children and other health and safety reugulations. We do advise guests shower prior to using the Hot tub. Had we known that you had concerns during your stay, our Housekeeping Team could have assisted. Thirdly, the downstairs bedroom is advertised as having a 'double' bed and the mattress was replaced last year so we were surprised to learn that you felt the springs. The sofas were not replaced when we purchased the Lodge and we have had minimal complaints regardiing them but will be replacing them at some point in the future. Finally, the 'wifi' is 4g network reliant on the capacity available in that area and unfortunately at the mercy of the network provider which is beyond our control. We don't advertise having 'sky', currently provide 'freeview' channels only hence the reason we don't provide or have any need for a 'pin number'. However, we do provide a wide range of DVD's suitable for Adults and children. Hopefully, we have covered all your points raised and once again 'thank you' for choosing our lovely Lodge for a holiday. Best regards, Elaine and Matt.
