Owl's Hollow

Absolutely fabulous cabin, it felt spacious and cozy, the bed was unbelievably comfortable and the shower was 10/10.

This place has everything you could need, very well equipped kitchen, a log burner that heats up in no time and a good selection of books for rainy days. I absolutely love the large windows as the view of the sunrise in the morning is phenomenal. Truly couldn’t have had a more perfect stay, and I will be comping back again.

A welcome pack would have been a bonus especially as it is far away from shops. Very friendly owner was helpful with the TV.

We had 4 nights at Owl’s Hollow and very much enjoyed our stay in the peaceful countryside.

Our hosts were superb in their welcome, making sure we had everything we needed. Everything is very comfortable with the log burner topping it all off. You won’t be cold staying here if you choose a winter stay! The lodge is very clean, with a brilliant shower, lovely towels and comfortable bed. We could not fault our stay and may well return next year. Thank you Emma for making us so welcome. We did also get a little visit from Emma’s little dog who was super cute and friendly, and who enjoyed our fusses. We felt this stay was one of our best choices from our Sykes bookings

I very much enjoyed a comfortable stay of a week at Owl's Hollow.

The 'lodge' was well equipped and the rural location meant it felt like a real escape into the countryside. Plenty of wildlife in the local area and several interesting walks can be completed straight from the front doorstep. Immediate access to the property is via a series of single-track lanes with few passing places. I didn't have an issue with this but it took a bit of getting used to and is worth bearing in mind.

On the whole enjoyed this as much needed, very quiet break and would return. Accommodation was spacious and larger than expected. Bed was comfortable and shower was wonderful. Plenty of cupboard space. Would benefit from a larger, more comfortable settee and a microwave.

Owl’s Hollow?

Well, an absolute gem. I’m very lucky to have spotted this wonderful lodge whilst looking for a holiday destination/accommodation. The location is just ideal if you’re looking for something very quiet, a perfect place to fully appreciate the beautiful countryside and just chill. Even though it is very rural, you don’t have to drive far to shops, pubs and places to explore. The lodge is beautifully set up, immaculately clean, very tastefully decorated. Simple, but luxurious. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bathroom and shower is just superb, the bed very comfy, wifi is superb, the decking area is south facing, so full sunshine all day (I was lucky enough to enjoy the weather!). In addition, a BBQ area is fully set up as well. I booked a 5 night stay, but ended up extending it as I loved it so much. The hosts (Emma and Edward) were lovely, very helpful and prompt in responding to requests/questions. I’m very much hoping to return one day!

We have just had a wonderful weekend at Owls Hollow for our wedding anniversary.

What an absolute gem. It was just perfect for a romantic getaway. The kitchen was ideal with a full size hob and oven, and plenty of cupboard space. Very comfortable bed, with a huge picture window at the foot. We loved watching the Soay sheep roam the adjacent paddock, the kites soaring overhead, and the night skies here were just something else. We laid out on the deck to spot satellites every night. It was absolute heaven, we enjoyed a fire in the firepit outside one evening, and we are looking to come back in the winter to test out the log burner indoors. Be aware it is very remote with some narrow and at times, bumpy roads. Definitely brings lots of supplies to minimise trips out if you can. We visited nearby Clun which was a quaint little village, and had a very tasty Sunday lunch in The White Horse, which brew their own beer too. There is a well stocked spar in the village selling local beers as well, and a lovely cider but the name sadly escapes me. (Wine bottle size with a bottle cap, highly recommend) All in all, the most tranquil weekend I've had in a long time. Thank you to Emma and her husband for having us, we hope to be back.
