We had the loveliest day at the Kites Nest!

The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, even freshly baked bread on arrival. The setting is beautiful with stunning view and great walks nearby. Brilliant hosts, thank you so much!

Incredible beautiful stay will be back absolutely stunning

We have just returned from the Kites nest and were absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity of Laurence and Julie, they are the most genuinely lovely people who's obvious passion for the area and for making their guests feel totally at home and comfortable from the time you arrive to the time you leave.

We have never had such a welcome hamper or other goodies anywhere we have stayed and all very well thought out, the essentials in the fridge on arrival were brilliant as there is always something you forget, I had forgotten milk which was included with butter and fresh orange juice, eggs, fresh fruit, too many items to list. Laurences freshly baked bread was amazing on arrival, just another lovely touch. We absolutely loved the kites nest and the peacefulness of the area, the views were amazing and so much to do in the surrounding area or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. A massive thank you to Laurence,Julie and not forgetting little hero for making our break so special Jackie & Mark xx

They have truly made our week away extremely special, from before we’d even shown up. The welcome hampers for us and the dogs were a beautiful touch and I haven’t seen a more thought out welcome guide ever in my life! The walks, the information about the local area, the appliances in the kites nest itself, there truly is nothing that they have missed nor could improve on. Two of the loveliest people we have ever met and we very much hope to return. This is a stay that I would encourage you to do! You really won’t be disappointed. Thank you Laurence and Julie! The Kite's nest is lovely and surprisingly spacious.

The location is great for spectacular views and also for being able to see the Red Kites birds of prey. The owners had really thought of everything including leaving some ham, cheese & milk in the fridge and providing us with some freshly made bread, which was welcomed after travelling most of the day. We were also left a hamper which contained lots of treats including biscuits, chocolate & wine and our dog was delighted to receive her own hamper too! From a cleanliness aspect, this was great too and the Kite's Nest was also decorated and furnished to a high standard. Two very good ideas were the extending settee and the TV projector screen which doubled up as a window blind. We'd definitely recommend The Kite's Nest to anyone visiting the area.

The hosts were faultless - very friendly, helpful, whilst they were always on hand they were non intrusive.

The cosiness of the cabin cannot be faulted - comfortable bed and sofa. The cleanliness was ok, a few spots missed - dirty shower tray on arrival, cupboard fronts slightly grubby and crumbs in the microwave. Location faultless - beautiful scenery & wildlife nearby. Cabin private from the owner's house. Lovely walks nearby.

We had a wonderful stay.

We had everything that we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. The outside bath was a real treat. Laurence and Julie were lovely welcoming hosts who provided a generous welcome hamper which was very much appreciated. The area offers amazing views and activities. We had beautiful weather all week and so made the most of exploring this stunning location. We would love to return to this little gem.

What a lovely place to stay.

First the cottage itself was lovely. Clean and comfortable bed, good shower. Amazingly equipped with all you need to make a meal (this included a very generous amount of food and drink - enough to make at least 2 meals ). Their home made bread is not to be missed! The coffee and tea selections were for all tastes. Second the area is beautiful with fantastic hilly / gorge walks. And SO quiet . We hardly met anyone and this was August. The dogs loved it and were made very welcome. (With their own treat box)

The location is perfect, amazing views so peaceful.

We spent a week here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary.

We were completely blown away by the hospitality shown by Julie and Laurence. There were 2 welcome baskets on arrival, filled with wine, biscuits, crackers, jams and chutney. The other basket contained dog toys etc. The fridge was stocked with milk, cheese and ham. The hosts brought round freshly made bread and slices of homemade chocolate cake. There were also tea, herbal teas which I’m now a huge fan, coffee, sugar, cleaning products. There’s not much you need to bring from home. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The Kites nest is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The outside bath has hot water and not overlooked, it was so relaxing lying in a hot bubble bath looking out over the spectacular views with a glass of wine in the early evening. (It really is a little slice of paradise). Devils bridge is only a few miles away and there are lots of great walks around the Hafod Estate. We took our dogs and they loved it. A word of caution though when taking your dog to the forestry. Check them for ticks after every walk and take a tick removing tool with you. I had the most wonderful stay at the Kite's Nest.

It's a beautiful cosy cabin in the most magnificent of locations. I spent days/evenings sat outside on the decking just marvelling at the views and the kites flying above my head. The cabin has everything you need including a fantastic welcome pack which was a real treat. I loved watching TV on the big projector screen and the bed was really comfortable. I especially loved having a bath outside in the open air - I wore a costume but it's also very private. The owners are just wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait to go back. It was one of the most restful breaks I've ever had.

Amazing, Will be going back again

Laurence and Julie are a lovely couple and so welcoming.

Lovely little welcome pack in the kitchen with delicious cheese ham milk eggs bread cereal and preserves. Had a lovely restful break. Lovely walks in the surrounding beautiful Welsh countryside.

We had a fantastic stay in this absolutely beautiful cabin.

Everything was so thoughtfully designed and comfortable, it felt so luxurious. Our hosts Laurence and Julie were great, greeting us warmly and giving us all the information we needed, even providing us with a welcome basket (and one for our dog!) These little touches really made our stay special. The local area is outstanding and there's loads to do, but if you just want to nestle in and stay inside, The Kites Nest is absolutely perfect for this. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing!

! The owners were absolutely lovely and made sure you were comfortable with your stay. I've struggled to find a quite place that is dog friendly (most are a max of two and I have three). I couldn't have been happier with how my dogs were treated and welcomed, even got there own welcome hamper. Will definitely be booking here again!

I stayed here with my partner in July and can honestly say this was the most relaxing place we've ever stayed. The care and attention to detail was second to none. The hosts Laurence and Julie couldn't have been more welcoming, providing a welcome hamper upon arrival, and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We will definitely be back soon!

This was such a relaxing mini break in the most idyllic location.

Laurence and Julie were simply lovely hosts and were more than happy to speak to us about the local area and all the lovely walks in the neighbourhood. We were made to feel extremely welcome and our little dog was welcomed with open arms. The cabin itself is quirky, cosy and full of everything you could want for a short break away. We will definitely be returning!

Very clean and comfortable and Laurence and Julie are very welcoming and the hamper and freshly baked bread just makes this a very special stay. We would highly recommend this holiday nest you wont be disappointed and the view is amazing thankyou.

This is a wonderful place to stay the location is lovely and the views are amazing.

We received a wonderful welcome when we arrived and we were early but that wasn’t a problem to Laurence or Julie. The welcome hamper was lovely and this extended to our dogs with their own little hamper of dog treats and more. They also left us provisions in the fridge ! milk cheese ham tomatoes etc . They really do think of everything. Due to Ben ( our dog ) injuring his leg before our holiday we couldn’t visit the places we planned , however we both agreed that if we had to be confined to base we couldn’t think of anywhere nicer to be. We enjoyed our stay at the Kites Nest Laurence and Julie made us very welcome and we're on hand if the need arose without being intrusive.

The cabin has lovely views and is very private, aswell as being well equipped. Had everything we needed, including a bath with fantastic views, I'm certainly missing my morning coffee looking through the valley. It is also an idyllic spot with plenty of places to visit, many cities in the welcome pack. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. So yes I would highly recommend, made our dogs most welcome too

A delightful place, which was very nice and cosily situated.

Although quite close to the owners bungalow, it had complete privacy and was entirely undisturbed. It had all the facilities we wanted, including a delightful welcome pack. We had both rain and sun, and we're equally comfortable with both! We will certainty be returning......

’ A beautiful cosy cabin in ideal location with fabulous views. Very well presented, very clean and well stocked for a small place. Had the most restful time, enjoyed our treat basket and so did our dogs. Highly recommend Kites Nest, we will be back.

A wonderful property and excellent hosts!

A really beautiful location, perfect for us and our dog!

Lawrence and Julie are wonderful hosts who made us feel so at home and like family.

They had thought of every little detail without going overboard and were there for anything we needed. The cabin itself is stunning and the location is breathtaking and we quite frankly can’t fault a single thing and didn’t want to go home. The bath outside is so fun and very private, they offer the use of their own gardens as well as being clued up on local walks and amenities. What topped it off is that they are aware just how rural they are and provide you with enough quality produce to give you a good breakfast your first morning there and the welcome basket is so thoughtful and such a treat. Lawrence showed us around and handed us some warm, freshly baked bread and then on our second day, we arrived back from a long hike to find a local Bara Brith cake with a candle in it and a birthday card for my husbands birthday! This place is truly magical and Lawrence and Julie are absolute angels. We will be back as many times as we can.

Indi appreciated how dog friendly it was too! Every detail shows careful thought and all the items in the cabin are of really nice quality. The garden was lovely and I enjoyed the outdoor bath. We had some lovely sunshine but it's easy to see how cosy this place would be in winter. The owners were also lovely hosts and available if there were to be any issues or questions. As well as enjoying the view and the kites from the balcony there were some wonderful walks in the area, some so close it was easy to access them without needing to drive there.

I missed not having a table nor oven.

Bed exceptionally comfortable and lovely to have a warm bathroom. Outside space was delightful. Owners were very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely loved our stay!

! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and so homely, i could not say a bad word about The Kites Nest and hosts Laurence and Julie they made us feel so welcomed and were there if we needed them for anything!!

A lovely cute pod cabin, really well done and equiped, with great welcome hamper, even a welcome hamper for the dog.

Warm and snug even on the coldest Welsh morning (too cold for the outside bath tho!). Walks a short drive away, such as Hafod. Would stay again. Thanks

What an amazing place to stay, with a great view, peaceful and relaxing, a fantastic welcome pack including homemade bread warm from the oven, our hosts were brilliant and even let us leave late as their was no immediate booking after us.

There’s plenty to see and do in the area. We even braved the outdoor bath in November! Though wore our woolly hats, what a sight!

We had the pleasure of spending two nights at the enchanting Kite's Nest as a special birthday getaway, and it truly exceeded our expectations!

The cabin is impeccably designed and exudes a sense of luxury. The ambiance is incredibly tranquil and serene, making it the ideal haven for cocooning, watching movies, and simply unwinding. The outdoor bathtub was a major highlight, offering the ultimate escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Kite's Nest served as an excellent home base for exploring numerous local attractions. In fact, there were so many enticing places to visit that we could have easily extended our stay and still not had the chance to experience them all. We were warmly welcomed, and the hosts went out of their way to ensure that nothing was too much trouble for us.
