Description

Pontrhydfendigaid 4.4 miles.

The Kites Nest is an incredible wooden pod, with a curved roof, circular windows and patio doors.

It has been constructed to a very high specification by the award winning fim My Shire House, (as featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces), from FSC graded timber, using; oak, larch and red cedar and is built in a traditional building style, using no plastics or PVC, it is also very heavily insulated.

This unique lodge offers breath-taking views of the countryside from a tranquil spot in Pont-rhyd-y-groes near Pontrhydfendigaid, a simply idyllic base for a couple looking to explore Ceredigion.

Park on a private drive, off-road and make your way over to this fantastic property, past your host's bungalow entering a private living space with a studio-style layout.

Here, guests can find a kitchen space with a selection of amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and mealtimes can be enjoyed within the lounge area or outdoor dining space.

There is a sitting area where guests can relax, or alternatively head out onto the decking to take in the stunning views of the hills, valleys and woodlands beyond, an amazing backdrop for your evening spent with a glass of your favourite beverage or indulging in a dip in the opulent copper bath, in a hidden private garden.

When sleep calls, freshen up in the shower room, before cosying up in the double bed.

This truly amazing property boasts fantastic views of Ceredigion, with small shops and pubs resting in nearby villages.

For more amenities and attractions, head over to Aberystwyth, where there is a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and pubs.

Aberystwyth also has a wonderful beach, with water sports facilities, walks beside the marina and river and access to coastal walks.Trips to take you dolphin spotting are available.

Right on the doorstep of the property, at the end of the village, is the amazing National Trust site of Hafod Estate, world famous as a centre of the ‘picturesque’ movement in the 18th Century and is today still regarded as one of the finest examples of a Picturesque landscape in Europe.

The estate boasts many waterfalls, gorges, woodland trails, spectacular views over the Ystwyth river, a Gothic arch in a stunning setting and a cave that ends halfway up a powerful waterfall.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Kites Nest.

Due to family commitments it was only a mini break, which we decided wasn't long enough by far so we will definitely be going back! The lodge is beautiful, equipped with everything you could need & views are stunning.Whilst it is perfect if you want to be in the middle of nothing except peace & quiet,it is also close to some lovely walks or a short journey in the car to some great beaches. Laurence & Julie were perfect hosts & couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful.I don't usually go self catering so packed absolutely everything....except the kitchen sink....but this was unnecessary as everything you could need was already in the lodge for you, they had catered for everything & the added welcome basket including home made bread was an amazing bonus! We are already looking forward to our return visit

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at The Kite's Nest, Lawrence and Julie were fantastic hosts throughout our stay.

We've already recommended them to several of our friends, and look forward to when we can stay again ourselves.
