After a day of rambling the outdoors, kick off your walking boots and relax on the settee, accompanied by a charming woodburning stove which gently heats the space.
Move over to the kitchen and start preparing a home-favourite dish, making use of the electric oven and hob, before taking a seat at the dining table and toasting to a much-needed getaway.
The interior is uplifted by natural lighting; throw open the patio doors to bring the outside in, accessing the decked space where you can sit out on the furniture and take in the setting.
Freshen up in the shower room before heading to the double bed to catch your rest.
Awaken from a leisurely slumber and open the doors to the Juliette balcony; imagine lazing in bed whilst the birds chirp around you.
The surrounding area is a haven for walkers; head north to the Mitchell’s Fold Stone Circle, a 3000 year old monument nestled in grazing fields, or head south to the Bury Ditches and discover this British Iron Age hill fort.
Five miles away is the delightful village of Stiperstones, offering the essential amenities with the Stiperstones Inn providing a lovely spot for a drink and something to eat.
Explore into Bishop’s Castle where you will be greeted by historical wonder in the form of listed timber framed buildings, quaint shops and a “House on Crutches'' or head over the border into Wales and see the large Norman ruins of Montgomery Castle, the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden and the wonderful Welshpool & Llanfair Railway.
Escape to Mucklewick Hollow and enjoy a delightful retreat with your other half.

What guests are saying
My third visit and another great getaway for me and my dog.
The shepherds hut was spotlessly clean and comfortable. So easy to walk the dog along nearby lanes with good views of the surrounding hills. Not too far to drive to interesting towns and villages along with good hiking in the locality. Lovely hosts who are on hand if necessary. Cannot fault at all.
This was such a lovely little place to spend a week.
Spotlessly clean and with everything you need. The bed was super comfy and the host very friendly and helpful. Peaceful and private.
Delightful property within its own gated area.
Well decorated and very comfortable bed. Excellent shower.Has log burner but not required on our visit. Even had cupboard space for food( an annoyance of mine) even though the kitchen was well equipped inc a full oven.
