Woodland View

A small split in the settee had me half dreading that we could get the blame for, and getting into bed was a bit of a clamber.

I would suggest a couple of drop down ledges for either side of the bed, which could be brought down to put stuff on, and then flipped up when not in use. All in all it was a lovely place, with a cracking hot tub. Would definitely return in future.

An excellent place to stay and we will 100% be returning visitors.

Firstly, appreciate we arrived an hour early but the property was obviously ready for us arriving.

We asked the lady in the property if we could go inside as we needed the Wi-Fi for work. She called her ‘manager’ who stated we could go inside if we paid £20 to a link. We chose to sit in the car. Secondly, place wasn’t very clean. Food remnants down the cushions of the ‘sofa’ which tips forward when you sit on it, a tv that isn’t watchable due to where it’s situated, and a fridge that’s both marked and damaged and the freezer obviously hasn’t been defrosted in years - we couldn’t actually put anything in it without it falling out. Next, misleading information - ‘1 mile to the nearest pub’. It’s not. It’s 1.75-2 miles and the road doesn’t have a pavement and is unlit. And as for ‘put the lid back on the hot tub correctly or we’ll fine you £50’ - what on earth are you thinking?! First time using Sykes cottages and this property and will be the last. We came home 2 days early (which we notice hasn’t been acknowledged) as we were completely fed up. Either represent the property and area correctly or don’t do it at all. Such a shame as Wales is beautiful but when you learn you could have stayed in a two level property right in the centre of Rhayader for £10 less PER NIGHT, it doesn’t help. Won’t be back. And anyone who asks about Sykes cottages, won’t be getting a recommendation from us. You ruined our holiday. Thanks.

A beautiful pod for our little family get away in a stunning location!

Only a few minute drive to the small village and so many local walks for our pup! Will definitely come back!

Lodge was clean and cosy, hot tub was great. Would definitely stay again and will be recommending to family and friends!

The canbin was lovely with great view to wake up to an was in a nice area to be able to go for walks from.

But did get very hot in the cabin during sunny days so a fan is needed

A beautiful location, the views are amazing.

Great for a relaxing break just to unwind. We loved the jacuzzi and the lodge feels very homely which I really liked. It would be handy to have an oven and upon our arrival the door lock broke as it became loose, which meant we couldn’t lock the door. We tried to make contact with the owner with the number given but it was quite difficult, when we eventually did we were told she had received no missed calls but we did send over a picture of our call log to show we attempted to make contact. We pretty much couldn’t lock our front door throughout our whole stay which wasn’t ideal, but our belongings were fine- this was the only downside.

It was mine and my missus very first time staying in Wales, the woodland view lodge provided everything and more than we expected, very clean, it had everything needed to make a tea, coffee, breakfast, dinner, the appearance of everything inside very stylish too.

We absolutely loved the hot tub, very relaxing provided good fun and relaxation, Was cleaned out everyday in the morning by staff. The fire pit was a nice touch, we used that a couple times, it was nice to sit outside at the little table in the morning, parking also very spaceous and easily accessible. About 4 minutes by car away from the lovely town of Rhayader, Overall would rate a solid 10/10 nothing more needed loved the stay and Thank You.

The lodge was nice and clean with great facilities. Would definitely stay here again really impressed with the whole stay.

Amazing break with husband and dog, really peaceful and relaxing.

Views from the hut are gorgeous, hot tub was lovely. Went for a walk to the elan Valley waterfalls which was also great. Only thing I would change really would be to have an oven in the hut but other than that was a great stay.

It was very cosy and a nice getaway. Unfortunately the weather was awful so we couldn’t enjoy the hot tub as much as we hoped to but overall it was a lovely weekend away :)

I gave this trip as a gift to my aunt and uncle for her birthday.

Not the owners fault but it rained the whole time. Hot tub was unusable as did not have a cover on it. I tried to change the date which was refused due to being short notice. Unfortunately they only stayed the one night instead of the three I had paid for. My aunt did say the property was beautifully clean though. I'd say the best time to book would be in the summer.

The property was really nice and in a beautiful location.

We were also really impressed with the amount of land around the property for the dogs to explore securely. Also, the hot tub was amazing!!! Suggestions to improve the stay would be having an oven instead of the dishwasher, instructions for the appliances and better range of self catering utensils (such as better pans). All in all though it was clean, cosy and I highly recommend staying there.

Beautiful dog walking locations near by and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings was such a bonus.

The pod had everything we needed for a 3 night stay.

The views were perfect. The hot tub was amazing. The location was great. We’ll 100% be back! The only minor negative was that other pods had sun loungers or picnic benches. We had an uncomfortable old bench and a little table and chairs, which served a purpose, but seeing the others made us wish we had the same! But as I say, only a minor negative. Thank you so much!

Very clean and everything you need it’s very cosy! Two years ago we stayed here and there was a wonderful virtual fire it’s a wonderful feature shame not there now. Could maybe do with extra storage space and hooks. But an excellent place to stay. Elan valley is beautiful!

Hot tub was lovely. Only thing that was missing was an oven. Only a electric hob and microwave available.

Fantastic location great accommodation friendly staff exactly what a holiday should be.

This was our 3rd visit here and once again we couldn’t have asked for any more.

This is the second time we have stayed and couldn't wait to go back.

. Everything perfect and a tray of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk were provided which was a lovely suprise.hot tub yet again was amazing. Hand sanitiser outside the door for us to use. Can't wait to try the new Hobbits when they are finished.

Holiday was perfect couldn’t fault it.

We stayed for a week and loved everyday that we was there.

It sits on a small site with a few other pods around. I felt that this one was the best placed for privicy. Small issues with flies but with it being middle of summer understandable. It didn't ruin our stay. We took our little dog and she had a whale of a time. Lit the fire pit on a night and sat round it with a drink. Loved everythimg about this lovely little pod. Will return definitely. Thankyou for a relaxing enjoyable stay.

Lovely little town centre with enough to do. The pod was spotless and great to chill out and relax, and this is what we did!! The owners Gemma and Ben people, hot tub is great, we will visit again.

Nice little cosy pod perfect for relaxing especially in the hot tub, the hot tube did take little longer than expected to warm but the staff were extremely helpful and give us a bag of fire wood free of charge for the inconvenience.

The bed was lovely and comfortable and the pod was very well equipped will definitely be staying here again. The days away were perfect although the pods could use a oven

We had a lovely time at Woodland View, beautiful surroundings, cosy pod, large garden for the dog and a hot tub with beautiful views.

All you could want from a peaceful get away. Many places to visit nearby. Will definitely return.

We booked this little lodge for a mini break in the new year to give us a few days to wind down and relax, the lodge was lovely, very small but was perfect for the few days away, the views from this place were absolutely breathtaking i couldnt wait to wake up in the morning to see the views, incredible!

A couple of negatives the fire on the wall let out no heat what so ever so all we have to heat the lodge up was a portable heater which at times just wasnt powerful enough to keep the place warm, however we didnt contact the owners about this as we dont like to bother people maybe if we did it could have been fixed, secondly no cooker which was abit of a pain with only a microwave and 2 hobs to cook on made mealtimes somtimes challenging but we made do and it was fine, we would have liked a washing machine instead of a dishwasher being on fields and having dogs it would have really helped having a washing machine to wash towels as we didnt feel enough were left for our stay, luckily we took some of our own. And lastly directions to this place were not helpful, we put the postcode in which we were given and we ended up lost and had to ask for directions. I feel it could have been made clearer. However the negatives i listed were not really negatives as they didnt impact our stay in the slightest and we had a wonderful time especially relaxing in the hot tub which at any time of day is perfect! If you are looking for a get away for a few days thats dog friendly, beautiful views & hot tub i would recommend this place we had a brilliant time

Lovely location and a well equipped accommodation with everything we needed for a great vacation.

Really enjoyed our stay, it was the first time we had booked a holiday like this and we had high hopes for our stay!

The holiday did not disappoint, the log cabin was absolutely spotless, cozy and lovely and warm. The hot tub was luxurious and private too. We took our little dog with us and he loved his long walks in the nearby Gilfach Nature reserve, only an 8 minute drive from the cabin. Can't wait to come back!

The pod itself was immaculate, we had a comfortable couple of nights here and enjoyed a relaxing weekend together in a beautiful scenic space, watching the sunset from the comfort of our hot tub was an amazing experience

We love Mid Wales and the location is superb.

The view is magnificent and even better when viewed from the hot tub. We had a blissful time, sat in the hot tub looking at the stars and watching bats swoop over our heads.

Accommodation was exactly like the picture, and was surprised just how big the grounds was, loved the privacy of woodland view as well.

This is brilliant place to go and relax.

Very peaceful few days. The local town had good pubs, lots of good walks and cycling in the surrounding areas. The accommodation itself was great. Very Clean, good amenities, added extras of good wifi and the hot tub were brilliant too. I would definitely recommend for couples looking for a few quiet days away.

the holiday was grate the dogs we took had a grate time .

Buddy and Dixie... the only thing we need instructions for the tv or a better remote and the hob . and we find that the couch was to low to sit on and no space to get in and out of bed as we both had bad knees it not good for the less mobile we manage it ok , the enclose fence for the dogs was grate they wore safe that was the best .. I cant fine any pods holiday that have that ….. I will go back if there more room to go in and out of the bed and the couch higher to sit on there should be one pod for the less mobile the views was amazing I will recommend your pace to any one and if you every get a disable pod we will be back we had this holiday for our dogs more than us as it the fist time to took them on holiday they had a grate time . the best also we had text back from the owner if we need any thing that was a good idea I must say for our age 64 and 69 don't mater the age I will go in a pod again and the hot tub was the best I was very surprise how warm they are as well we hope to be back thank Cilla and Alan

The views were stunning, pod was cosy and clean with a variety of lovely walks within a 10-30 minute drive, while the hot tub was exactly what we needed at the end of the day!

Really enjoyed nice and quiet, was able to have some quality time with my boyfriend and dog as my boyfriend works in the army and hadn’t seen him for 4 months.

Easy to access no drawn out check in, good instruction. Would definitely consider returning and recommending.

We were a little concerned about the big gap under the gate so though it was quite a secure garden we did feel it can improved upon by adding a little wire fencing to the underside of the gate.

Not only we felt this but the people alongside us also too felt a little uneasy - saying that we loved the garden so thank you so much.

We thought the cabin and especially being enclosed was lovely also the amazing wall fire!

We loved the views and was so peaceful. It was very cosy, clean and warm in the cabin. We want to come back one day. My daughter and our dog had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Our stay was extremely relaxed, and a much needed break from normal working life.

Apart from a couple of small issues (WiFi and TV not working) we couldnt complain at all, and will definitely be returning.

Everything was perfect apart from the weather, but the place, the facility(s) the views, the village everything was perfect!

Had such a great weekend and would certainly go back and use Skye’s cottages again

The log cabin was in a beautiful, tranquil location with stunning views.

It was modern, cute and cosy to stay in. The views from the hot tub were our favourite part of our break and were outstanding. We had a fantastic relaxing time and wished we could have stayed for longer. Will definitely be returning!

Booked to stay here for my boyfriend's birthday surprise and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We're already thinking of when we can book to come back. The pod was really lovely, clean and cosy and the hot tub was amazing. Unfortunately on the second night of our stay the weather was too bad to use the hot tub. But a cosy night in the pod was just as good as we had everything there we could need!

We really enjoyed our four day stay in Woodland View, and we intend to return!

All in all, the cabin was a lovely & cosy place to convalesce after a stressful few weeks of real life. While the weather was quite cold during our stay, the virtual fireplace always kept the cabin nice and toasty when we returned from our excursions. We loved the hot tub, which we used at least a couple of times every day, and roasted over the fire pit each night (charcoal & lighter fluid available from the hardware shop in Rhyader!). On the day we were due to check-in, the owners sent us a text to check on when we were planning to arrive and whether everything was OK when we eventually turned up. When it turned out that one of the cleaners had forgotten to leave toilet roll, the owners happily supplied some within a couple of hours (thanks again!). We cooked for each night of our stay except one, and the cabin had all of the pots / pans / utensils we needed for the each meal. We would recommend walking boots to make the most of the valleys & reservoirs in the near vicinity.

Loved this peaceful pod.

Amazing setting and really great for family - couples and pets. Felt so relaxed and would highly recommend. Rhayader is lovely but we also enjoyed our trips out to Aberystwyth and the Brecon Beacons. Welsh were fab and the drive is picturesque. Everything you should expect when your away. Well done to the family it’s really good xx

Beautiful scenery quiet and idyllic.

Great pod lovely and quirky with everything you need for a enjoyable stay. Owners lovely greeted us on arrival. Hot tub a great bonus. Lovely relaxing in hot tub in evening listening to all natures sounds. Great location to view mid Wales. We had fantastic weather. Went to Elan valley visited all the reservoirs beautiful scenery. Will return

Perfect for dogs as they can run around in a safe and secure garden area. Icing on the cake is the ready to go into hot tub.
