Stanley's Lodge, Foxburrow Hang

Booked this lodge for a family holiday for 7 nights.

Following instructions, rang the owners 48 hours before arrival to get key collection info. No reply on either number provided and no responses to answer phone messages I left. I then texted and got a very brief response just stating the key code. We noticed the lodge was very dusty/dirty in a lot of areas, so texted the owners informing them on Sunday morning assuming they had paid cleaners and that I thought it wasn't to the standard I would have expected and I offered to send photos. It took over 3 hours to receive a response and we were informed that the lodge is cleaned by the owners to 'a very high standard' and asked what the problem is, and said they would call round the day after. We had booked a boat trip for this day so asked them to call on Tuesday but they said they could only do Monday and that they would come in and clean whilst we were out. I wasn't comfortable with this so asked them not to and said again that I could send photos but then got no further response at all. Basically all the vents were full of old dust, the bedroom light fittings hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, as well as many other areas. I felt very let down after paying the best part of £1000 for this holiday. I would have expected it to be dust and cobweb free. Also there is a construction site at the front side of the lodge. There was no one working there all week, however it would have been nice to have been informed before arrival as this prevented our kids from playing ball outside. There was also an intermittent sewage smell which made it so the veranda couldn't be used as much as liked. It also lists his/her bikes which were nowhere to be found and I didn't feel we could ask the owners after having no response previously. The park that the lodge is in, is lovely quiet area and we enjoyed the location.

Situated on a quiet site with easy access to the golf club where for a few pounds you could use their pool, steam room and jacuzzi, all of which were wonderfully warm.

A life saver with 2 active boys and not very good weather. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, WiFi reception was good and lounge area leading to the veranda was spacious enough for us. The units were a bit dusty and the lounge carpet could benefit from a clean as there were a few stains. If we came back to this area I would be quite happy to stay here again.

Excellent accommodation.

The caravan was extremely clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The site and position of the caravan was so peaceful and quiet.

Lovely comfortable lodge with everything you could need, had a problem with the cooker the igniter didn't work but not too much of a problem did report to owner.

There was a sewage problem when we were there, which wasn't pleasant, but was the parks fault not the owner, but she did compensate us which was very good of her. Quiet park geared for the golfer but a nice swimming pool and good food in the bar. Not far from Gorleston if you want a nice beach, also next to the park is red wings horse santuary and an owl sanctuary is just up the road. All in all we had a nice week and can recommend this lodge

We really liked the seating and dining areas, comfy and spacious. Everything you need is in the kitchen and clean. Nice shower. Summer sun drops behind the trees for shade in the evening. Thanks again.

Stanley’s lodge is in a lovely quiet site with access to a golf clubhouse for food and drink aswell as an indoor swimming pool which our grandchildren loved.

The living accommodation in the lodge was very nice and well equipped . We made use of both the slow cooker and the air fryer. The bedrooms are snug as is usual in a lodge I suppose. We also played the 9 hole par 3 golf course and the football golf . The owners were in the lodge next door and were quick to respond to any queries. It would be handy to have either a washing line or larger airer/dryer for hanging out swimwear as the tiny one provided was pretty inadequate . We had a lovely week. Thank you.

Everything was easy from handover of keys to leaving at the end. The owners were very nice, happy to help if needed. The lodge was comfortable and clean and very well presented. We would happily recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a lovely peaceful and relaxing site. Thankyou.

The Lodge was very clean and comfortable.

Plenty of space for our needs. The owner was there to meet us and hand over the keys, very helpful in providing us with information on places to eat etc. Few leaflets in the Lodge also with ideas of places to visit. The site was very quiet and relaxing but still handy for visiting the coast (Great Yarmouth/Gorleston only about 5 miles away). Would definitely recommend staying at this property.

The Owners were very friendly, they were there to welcome us and show us round Stanley's Lodge, it was very clean and tidy.

The bedrooms and bedding were lovely, it was very homely and comfortable, thank you so much, we would live to stay there again. The site was very quiet and not many lodges on it, there was horses and a stable close by with a a couple of little cafes with a shop on site, a pool and a small lake. It is ideal location to visiting Great Yarmouth anc surrounding areas. Would like to thank the owners for a lovely relaxing stay.

Wonderfully peaceful week at Stanley Lodge on a very well kept site.

Could not fault the accommodation. Fabulous location with golf club pub restaurant a couple of minutes walk away. Added bonus was having the Redwings horse sanctuary on site to visit. An ideal bolt hole. Many thanks to Pat and Jeff

Lovely Caravan in a great location.

We had a lovely few days at Stanley's Lodge.

Clean, welcoming and the bed linen was amazing!! Will be getting myself some of those!!! Thank you for your patience and help with our key collection too!! There is the fabulous free Redwings Horse Sanctuary on site with cafe and play area too, plus an Owl sanctuary just a few mins away and Hillside Animal Sanctuary too which is also free and well worth a visit!

Lovely lodge and lovely host too, beds and bedding were all very comfortable and as advertised.

She made sure we were happy with the lodge when we arrived for our two night stay. We also enjoyed the spa swimming pool on site for a small fee. Really lovely quiet getaway, near to all the attractions too. Thank you

Spacious lodge in a lovely quiet location, and pleasant friendly owner who was there to meet us.

Felt like it was in the middle of nowhere but really only down the road from great yarmouth and Gorleston. Unfortunately we did find that the lodge was not very clean, despite being new, a few stains on the carpets and a little dirty in places, mainly the kitchen and toilet.
