Description

Catfield 2.4 miles.

Tucked away in the beautiful centre of the Norfolk Broads in Hickling near Catfield, is this delightful, single storey property, The Lodge.

Set in a fantastic location with 3-acres of grounds of the former Heath Priory, with easy access to the glorious coast, The Lodge welcomes couples looking to stay in this part of Norfolk.

The open-plan living space offers a homely feeling, with a woodburning stove nestled in a brick fireplace, with a TV and sitting area for down time.

Move over to the kitchen, well-equipped for preparing home-cooked dishes with an electric oven and hob, microwave (on request) and fridge, before gathering at the centre dining table for a feast.

Whisk away to the super-king-size bedroom, dressed in a nautical theme with ample storage, along with a gleaming en-suite shower room.

When you’re ready to explore, visit Hickling Broad and treat your loved ones to a delicious meal at the Pleasure Boat Inn or the Greyhound Inn, embark on a hike through the Hickling Broad AONB, where you can spot the local wildlife across a variety of terrain, including marshlands, wetlands, and waterways, as well as enjoy boating and kayaking within the Hickling Broad Nature Reserve.

The nearby village of Catfield has a wider selection of amenities, including a Post Office with convenience store, The Crown II and Sarah’s kitchen.

If it’s a day on the coast you fancy, there are a number of beaches within a short drive; take your pick from Eccles, Sea Palling and Happisburgh.

The Lodge, set in the Norfolk Broads, is perfect for a holiday in any season.

Excellent location for watching the wildlife, kingfisher's, deer, heron, rabbits, squirrel's, woodpecker, moorhens, duck's all viewed during our stay.

Large lounge window giving lovely views of the grounds and wildlife. Large bedroom with super comfortable king-size bed and ample storage space. Only a few of minor issues were, a lack of crockery, only 2 mugs and plates, meaning you had to wash up immediately before you could have another drink etc. a loose socket behind the bed, where I needed to charge my phone overnight and the bathroom sink plug wouldn't hold water, so I had to keep topping it up whilst having a shave. Support and maintenance on the site was excellent and everyone were really friendly and helpful.
