Guests will have the pleasure of watching lambs in the springtime in adjacent meadows and discovering the abundance of wildlife including dormice, birds of prey and badgers.
If you can tear yourself away, begin your day with a stroll into the centre of Ruthin, ready to explore Nantclwyd y Dre Historic House and Gardens, Ruthin Gaol or the Ruthin Craft Centre, before treating your loved ones to a hearty meal and cold beverage at one of several inviting pubs or restaurants.
In the immediate area are the Clwydian Way walk (of which Lady Bagot's Drive is part of) and Offa's Dyke walk along the Clwydian Range to take in the stunning summits of Moel Famau, Fenlli and Arthur with their Iron age settlements, hill-top fortresses and ancient beacons waiting to be discovered.

What a beautiful place to stay! If you want to escape life and switch off, this is the place! We had a wonderful week with family and our dog. The owners Jaine and Richard are amazing hosts and made our holiday perfect, nothing was too much trouble for them. They really made our holiday, thank you. There are lovely walks, great pubs - our favourite was The Brookhouse Mill, great food and dog friendly (10 mins drive away), Denbigh has supermarkets and a lovely park for dogs to have a run. So if you want to escape life and recharge your batteries, scroll no further and book it!

Richard and Jaine are the perfect hosts and the accommodation and location are absolutely stunning!
The lodge is secluded and equipped with everything you need and beautifully presented. There is plenty of space outside with a lovely porch to relax on whilst watching the abundance of wildlife and it was secure for our dogs. The wildlife is amazing and there are lots of lovely places to visit nearby and a lovely walk on your doorstep. This is our second visit, and won't be our last!

We received a lovely friendly warm welcome from the owners Jaine and Richard.
The cabin was spotless, comfortable and the beds and bedding was lush, just nice to be away in the quite just watcing and listening to all the different birds also the squirrels put on a show. The hot tub is an added bonus and the amenities were a short drive away. We would have no hesitation in booking the cabin again.

The cabin is fantastic, and the grounds are even better.
The cabin is isolated, a perfect retreat with a reactive dog. The surroundings are very peaceful. There is a lovely trail on the property and the public path into town is beautiful as well. The owners are really nice and responsive (although I wasn't able to get in touch with them through Sykes before the visit, but that isn't the owner's fault). I'll be booking the cabin again next spring.

We had the most perfect stay here.
You are getting 5* when you book this cabin - it is finished to a high standard, and there are so many extra little details that make it pure luxury. The hot tub is a decent quality large one with fairy lights, just magical. The cabin was immaculate - I have OCD and get a bit funny staying away at other places as I never find them quite clean enough, but this one was absolutely spotless. The underfloor heating was so cosy (again, stayed at several places where I have always been a bit chilly) but not this one! There are books, games, information on walks - even head torches! I even googled where their hand soap was from because it smelt so amazing. The bed was also comfy, again not something you usually get when you stay away, but it obviously wasn't a cheap mattress here, I slept great. If you want to book something a bit special, this is it. We can't wait to come back!

The cabin is stunning and very much a home from home. The location is amazing, so peaceful with a lovely river walk on the doorstep and just a short drive to supermarkets. The hosts are very helpful and resolved a minor issue in super quick time. We would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return.

Fantastic property lovely and quiet, owners kindly put a freezer in for us for all our dog food, great hot tub, lovely walk right on your doorstep next to the river.

We stayed at Lady Bagot’s for a long weekend on a Girls weekend with one dog.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful, the beds were so comfy, and it had every single facility you could have needed. We were lucky enough to meet both host’s who were very accommodating. When I advised the dog was nervous around new people they messaged ahead of time when they were coming to check the hot tub so we could ensure the dog was inside. The hot tub was such a lovely area. All ready for when we arrived. The surrounding area was stunning! We have been on a few weekends like this as a group and we all said this was my far the best one, and that we would all happily return here. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and see you again soon!

Had a terrific two week stay here.
It was very peaceful, and we loved listening to the owls at night. Everything is well maintained and it was nice being hidden away behind the gates. Both the kids loved it also especially being in the woods. They are both autistic and to have the peace and quiet was great for them. They were both able to be themselves without worrying about disturbing anyone. For a week stay, it would have been absolutely perfect, but being there a fortnight, we did miss having a washing machine and only having a relatively small fridge. These are small gripes though and the place is amazing. We would love to come back and stay again. We also had two dogs with us and again, they were very well catered for and they could roam free which was great. Our only slight negative re the dogs was that the gravel is pretty sharp under foot (even for barefoot humans) , and they didn't like walking on it too much. There is a path to the outdoor bench though and we put down some picnic blankets to help.

Yes, we have had one or two guests saying the cabin would benefit from a bigger fridge and it is something we have planned at some point. We do offer a wash service if guests stay for longer periods but again, a separate launderette building is part of a longer term plan. We'll bear in mind the comfort of gravel under paws when we come to resurface at some ppoint. From the moment we opened the gates it was everything we expected.
The layout of the cabin and the facilities second to none. Relaxing in the hot tub seeing the moon and stars was amazing. We base our holidays around our dawgs so the privacy and being totally fenced in with a private area to walk them what’s not to love. Richard and Jaine lovely people and nothing too much trouble. This is our second time coming back to Lady Baggots and it was as beautiful as ever x Stunning lodge and scenery.
It is secure for our little Pomeranian who loves it here x my mum is 85 and my brother is disabled and as everything is on one floor with easy access it is the perfect location for a retreat get away x We will be back next year. The hot tub and beautiful woods are an added bonus

This was by far the best accommodation we have stayed in.
It was booked to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary as a real treat. It lived up to all our expectations and more. The moment we opened the gate to the property it took our breath away! The owners Richard and Jaine were both lovely, not intrusive, but there if you needed anything, or even just to chat. The area is beautiful. We will absolutely be returning next year. 10/10 perfect

Really clear instructions on how to get there, Richard and Jaime are so lovely and helpful. It was in such a beautiful and peaceful area, the cabin was completely spotless but still felt cosy and home like and they provided everything you could possibly think of. One of, if not the best places we’ve stayed! We will definitely be coming back and be recommending to friends!

What a stunning property in an amazing location. The property is clean and cosy with every detail thought out to make guests feel at home and so well equipped with everything you would possibly need. The location was very private and set in beautiful wooded area, plenty of parking. The owners Richard and Jaine were lovely and communicated with us so were available if we needed them too. I will definitely return to Lady Bagots and would recommend this to friends and family.

We have just had a wonderful weekend at Lady Bagots cabin.
A very cosy property with a rustic charm all of its own. This place nestles you safely in its tranquil surroundings, far away from the busy pace of the modern world. Very well equipped cabin with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Log burner was a lovely treat, as was hearing the tawny Owls hooting in the trees outside after dark. Hot tub is amazing. Gated property with ample parking for 3/4 cars, completely private as not overlooked by any other properties. Owners Richard and Jane popped over to say hello and were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a place.
We found Lady Bagots Cabin in the most scenic and peaceful setting, with really helpful and friendly hosts.
Super comfortable beds and the supplied toiletries (which was a surprise, as self catering places don't usually provide) were the nicest I have ever come across! The cabin is very well appointed and comfortable. We had a such a lovely time, we would have stayed for the whole summer if we could. The only drawback we could mention, is that there is only a small fridge with a freezer box, for a family of six adults, who like to eat, this wasn't big enough. However, this was not a dealbreaker and would not stop us from returning.

Perfect location with a stunning cabin.
Highly recommended! Just had a lovely relaxing break at Lady Bagots Cabin. The cabin is beautifully clean and welcoming. The owners Richard and Jaine have thought of everything that you need for a peaceful relaxing break. Lots of extras provided. We loved just sitting out watching the wildlife or having a soak in the hot tub. It made such a difference knowing that our dog was in a secure environment, and even had his own private woodland area to explore. Brilliant place for getting away from it all.

Where do I start.
......what a stunning location and lodge! The owners (Richard & Jaine) were very welcoming and helpful whilst respecting our privacy. The scenery is outstanding with an abundance of wildlife and it was completely secure for our dogs, with the added bonus of a wooded area to explore behind the lodge. I would encourage everyone who visits to take the time to sit and watch the wildlife as it's amazing (woodpeckers, squirrels, bats, and owls) and the birds singing is so lovely. This place is the definition of peace, relaxation, and tranquility. There are several lovely walks on your doorstep, and you can reach the coast within 30-40 minutes. We can't wait to visit again next year!

The cabin and locality certainly lives up to it's 5 star rating!
Extremely comfortable and well equipped with the most comfortable beds we had all ever slept in while on holiday. We have an anxious rescue dog and we really appreciated the accommodations made for her by Jaine as she is not great with people she doesn't know. Lucy the cocker had a great time and is still sleeping off her holiday. In all other respects too Jaine was really welcoming and helpful. Hot tub was of course fantastic and we really enjoyed watching the birds on the fat balls especially the woodpecker family. At night the owls and bats were amazing. We loved the walk by the river and saw a heron. We have already booked again for next year. Highly recommended. Thank you!

What a beautiful, peaceful spot.
We spent the week here with our 3 & 1 year old children, they thought it was as magical as we did, exploring outside, watching the squirrels and birds. The cabin is all one on one level and open plan which was perfect to let the kids enjoy the space while always being in our view. Thanks again!

Lady bagots cabin has everything you need for a relaxing quiet stay.
Facilities are superb and top class. Lovely walks in the area, lady bagots drive is a lovely walk along the river. The walk through the owners wood is good but is a bit over grown and comes to dead end at the top the hill. We will definitely be back. Richard and Jaine can be proud of the oasis they made, and are extremely great hosts.
Hi John, we're really glad you enjoyed the cabin and thank you for your very kind feedback. Thanks for bringing the overgrown path to my attention, I shall cut it back. At the end of the path at the top, you can turn back on yourself to the right, up the steep hill and this leads to a private flat area where you can access a rarely used public footpath. These are not well trodden though. In due course I do intend to make the paths easier. The public footpath leads to an ancient earthworks which is quite interesting. Absolutely fantastic holiday.
The cabin is perfect, built to a very high standard, in a stunning area of Wales. The kitchen and bathrooms are so beautiful .The bed was incredibly comfortable. We could not fault the cleanliness . Everything we needed was provided.The hot tub was a delight to use. The outside area was secure and perfect for our dogs Pluto and Archie. Lovely to have a welcome basket left with even treats for the dogs. Finally the hosts Jaine and Richard were absolutely brilliant.Keeping in touch beforehand ,checking the hot tub levels daily. Not intrusive but very genuine, kind people. Jaine gave us so much useful information on where to go in the area , enhancing our holiday . She is a lovely lady . A great couple who both made myself, my husband Tony and our dogs feel very welcome. We did not want to leave and will definitely be returning.

Everyone loved the cabin.
It was a beautiful location, quiet, picturesque but well located for local amenities. We liked the communal layout, kitchen was well equipped as were bedrooms and bathroom. We really enjoyed the hot tub. Being dog friendly was a big plus as were the local walks. The cabin was warm, the log burner added ambience as well as additional warmth. Richard was on hand and very helpful, communication was excellent. We appreciated the very tasty welcome pack on arrival. All in all everything was excellent.

. This cabin is in a dream location, I don’t think you could find better, woods, wildlife, peacefulness and quality retreat. Very clean, and the interior sets the vibe equal to the outside quality. I’m going to say 5star quality … Richard and Jaine are the most amazing owners, they have created and managed everyone’s perfect dream. We would definitely come again and fully recommend to all. What an amazing place, nestled away in the woodland and complete with everything you need for a relaxing few days.
Marked as 4* as the listing says enclosed gravelled area which we thought would be great for our dog but unfortunately the back of the cabin is not enclosed so she had to stay on a lead.

Very peaceful, quiet. It's the 1st time we have used a hot tube which was great. Dogs loved it with walks and 2-3 beaches within 20-30 miles.

We had a wonderful week long stay at Lady Bagots.
Loved it! The Cabin is great. Clean, comfortable and everything is to a very high standard inside and out. After a long day of exploring we couldn’t wait to get home to relax and enjoy our meals outside besides a lite fire followed by a soak in the hot tub… Pure bliss! If it’s comfort, privacy, peace and quiet that you want then this place is perfect. Hosts were amazing, extremely attentive and couldn’t have made us more welcome. 10/10. Cannot recommend enough. I look forward to staying at Lady Bagots Cabin again.

Hi, we had a lovely week at lady bagots cabin, the area the amenities were all excellent the only complaint we had was the weather such a shame.
The cabin was lovely and quiet in a perfect place as we took dogs and they loved it, lady bagots walk was nice but be aware you can only get to the stream in a few places and our dogs were constantly trying to get down the banks and some were very steep and high, there were plenty more river walls in the area so it didn't really matter. Great cabin great area thanks.

Are some words we associated to our recent stay at Lady Bagots cabin. From opening the gates on arrival, we knew we had made a good booking. Other than the lodge itself and the welcome pack. The hot tub, wildlife and secure access for our dog within the grounds was a just perfect. Would certainly recommend, thank you to Richard for a wonderful stay. Local tip. Take a leisurely 2mile walk along Lady Bagots Drive to Rewhl and visit Sugar Plumb Tea rooms.

The cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous in a really nice area with plenty of room for the 6 of us and our big Labrador! Richard and Jaine were also amazing hosts leaving us some treats, coffee and a bottle of wine + lots of other essentials. Everything from the hot tub to the amazingly comfortable beds were top notch. We had a lovely weekend break away, cabin is in a peaceful location but not too far away from local amenities.

We stayed Christmas week and wow what a week.
We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Lady Bagots Cabin was like a home from home, with everything needed to make for a perfect Christmas break. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas including a real Christmas tree and reindeer's on each bed (Kids loved these). We would love to return in the summer to fully appreciate the surroundings. We would like to thank Richard and Jaine for being on hand especially on Christmas eve when we needed matches (I had just returned from the super market and hadn't realised ) To the lovely welcome pack including Christmas crackers and chocolates for the kids. From the moment we pulled up to the moment we left we just loved how private and peaceful it was, even with the terrible storms. Thank you so much for making Christmas 2023 perfect

Outstanding property, the best we’ve ever stayed in.
Location is great, we took our dog and the grounds around the property are very secure for them to be let off. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need and very clean. The bathrooms even had toiletries in and we received a welcome pack on arrival. We had such a relaxing, enjoyable stay and will definitely return.

Absolutely loved lady bagots cabin, wowed from the time you opened the gate, it is very private, and they have thought of everything for hiking walks even bird watching, the owner’s were so lovely, if you needed anything they was there, the welcome tray with homemade cake great touch, and they even decorated it for Christmas with a lovely tree, if your looking for quiet tranquil and walks this is a must, thank you Richard and Jaine for a wonderful week

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the cabin.
It was decorated for Xmas, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Perfectly clean and attention to detail making it feel like we were the first ever guests. The location is great, very private, but with walks on your doorstep and a short drive from town. We'll be back.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic.
We took our two dogs with us and they loved it too. The cabin was stunning in every way. The cabin was incredible.
Beautiful area in the middle of nowhere, but with fabulous walks and lots of nature. Beautifully presented inside and out and the amenities inside the cabin were so thoughtful. There was everything you could possibly need for your stay. So many games and books the hot tub was amazing too. The towels and bedding were luxurious, we usually take our own pillows but we certainly didnt need them there. Thanks so much. We will definitely be back x

! Lady Bagots Cabin is worth every single penny. It is the most wonderful lodge in the most stunning surroundings. Everything about it was perfect, from the cleanliness to the finishing touches. The amount of toys and books left for my boy was amazing he loved everything. The hot tub was a fabulous addition especially on a cold and wet autumn night. Leaving was hard as we made so many wonderful memories. We will be back that is for sure. Cannot recommend enough!

The ‘wow’ moments start as soon as you open the gates to this property.
From the setting of the cabin and the birdsong to the finish of the beautiful interior. From the private trail and bridge to the barbecue and chimnea. From the log burner and cosy blankets to the fabulous hot tub. This place definitely doesn’t disappoint. Having the Lady Bagot’s Drive walk on your doorstep is just the icing on the cake. We all loved our stay here (especially our dog, who was rather sad to leave).

A peaceful, beautiful forest is the backdrop for quiet evenings in the hot tub or drinks in the grounds. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the cabin was spotless and well catered for the 5 of us. A walk down Lady Bagots drive to the Drivers Arms is a must, delicious food and friendly staff. We visited Ruthin, Llangollen and Conwy Bay and took our paddle boards to Lake Bala. A wonderful week in Welsh paradise. Thank you

Love the cabin, love the area it's sooo quiet and peaceful, the walks down lady bagots drive are fantastic and the photo opportunities for wildlife are many if you are patient. Never used a hot tub before which was fantastic although it takes a little time to heat using a wood fire, you have everything in the kitchen you could possibly need and in virtually every room there are some games to play for the family, underfloor heating is lovely, Netflix and amazon on the TV if you have an account, the TV was on for about an hour first day then left off who needs it. The beds are so comfortable you won't want to get up. The Welcome food pack was very much appreciated, and eating outside on the picnic table during the nicer morning was a real pleasure We have mobiles on GIFFGAFF, ID Mobile, and Vodaphone and all the networks had little to no signal so ringing via skype, facebook etc.. on the cottage wifi is the best plan. Word of warning most of the takeaways in Ruthin run on a cash-only basis, not sure why just be warned. All in all a brilliant place with fantastic owners, if I could suggest anything I would add maybe some comfortable outside seating (gravity chairs etc..), there are some seats but they are not that relaxing. EV charging is always a help especially when so rural although I think the local power supply is limiting for this idea. We will be back ....

The cabin was very modern and clean, folded towels on the beds, tea, coffee, biscuits (human and doggy) and local milk when we arrived. Lots of flyers on different things to do, places to visit and walks etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone, it was just myself, my partner and our dog staying and we found it very relaxing and romantic but it would also be just as good for a family or friends. One of the best places we have stayed.

Lady Bagots Cabin is simply fantastic!
Exactly as we hoped and more. The location is just perfect for a completely relaxing break, just us and the birds and squirrels! We loved the tin of bird seed provided and made it part of our morning ritual to feed the birds. The nesting boxes and live stream is a great touch too! The cabin is superb, with everything you need in the kitchen ( and we cook a lot so really put this to the test!), plenty of room for our group of six and Freddie the sausage dog. We all agreed the beds were so comfy and towels super fluffy. We had superb weather and took full advantage of the barbecue and hot tub. We hadn’t used a wood fired one before but it was so very easy. There is so much to do in the area, we enjoyed Bala lake where some of the family hired kayaks. The beaches are a little drive but absolutely fantastic. This is 5+ star accommodation. We loved it and would highly recommend to anyone.

What a wonderful place.
So peaceful and relaxing. The cabin itself is beautiful. I think the owners have exceeded every expectation. It's a little like the advert for The Range...if they don't have it, then you don't need it. The hot tub was heated to a perfect temperature on our arrival, the husband had driven us there so this was very welcome. It was a Spring Spaniel paradise for anyone taking a pooch. Ours is constantly on the move, however I have to say she spent many an hour with a blanket on the step (yes, very spoilt) and watched the birds and squirrels playing on the fence. She actually looked at us in horror when it was time to leave and go out. There are plenty of walks close to the property and we did go to Colwyn Bay for a bit of beech time a couple of days, its only about 40 minutes away. We've had many UK holidays now since having the pooch but this holiday has been one to remember. We are usually out exploring but this time we did stay 'home' more than usual. The cabin and surrounding area are simply stunning. We would definitely recommend and we will look to book again.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, we had tea, coffee, sugar and milk all ready for us on our arrival.
Dog friendly as well, they had everything supplied for the dogs including dog beds, bowls toys and even treats, and the dogs enjoyed laying by the fire after a busy day walking.The hot tub was all ready for us when we arrived and really enjoyed it , we highly recommend such a beautiful place to stay.

... Absolutely amazing getaway! We (a young couple with a pooch) decided to go away last minute for Xmas and wanted somewhere very isolated, peaceful and with a nice view to wake up to. This place definitely didn't disappoint! The description of the cabin and surroundings are spot on. We have been to a lot of cottages, air bnb's etc and I can honestly say this is by far the best. I took a lot of kitchen items with me as we've been to a lot of places with bare minimum, however, I only needed a couple of them which I have listed as it was fully equipped with pretty much everything, even cocktail making stuff. Kitchen Items to take - Scales, Tongs, Potato masher, whisk, Kitchen Roll and big bin bags (they only provide very small ones which you end up emptying 3 times a day (especially at Xmas) As it was Xmas I took baking stuff such as a Rolling pin, electric mixer, cake tins, pastry brush, cooling rack.. so if you want to bake I do suggest taking your own things for this just incase. They decorated the cabin for Xmas and had a real Xmas tree so that was a really nice touch. Plenty of games available to play for all the family and Netflix and Amazon Prime to watch on the Smart TV. Wifi was good. The log burner was great (not dual fuel) Our pooch loved it and the wood fried hot tub was lovely! We took a lot of our own wood as we've found some starter packs can be quite small, however the starter pack here was great and would see you out till the next day! We took 4x 30 litre bags with us and some chopped wood from a friend. This lasted us with nothing to spare at the end. The outside area for the pooch was a great size, however if your pooch does like to explore then be careful as the top fence is not fully secure as its long strips of wood with a big gap at the bottom, however there is a wired fenced at the bottom of the hill by the stream which by the way was lovely to listen to whilst sitting in the hot tub which had plenty of jets and nice lights. There is a quiet footpath down the hill as you walk out the cabin gates which runs along the river and eventually comes out to a little village with a nice pub called the Drovers Arms. We then took the longer route back along the top of the woods and caught some lovely scenery. We tried to book it again for next Xmas but seems its already been booked! Gutted but we will certainly return at some point.
