Y Caban

Absolutely stunning place- the cosiness, isolation and feel of the place was perfect for us.

Host were so lovely and helped us out late at night (sorry again if you read this!!). Literally everything you could need at the property- personal favourite being the radio. Will absolutely be returning again

This was our second visit to Y Caban.

We just love this place and it suits us perfectly. It is well furnished and very comfortable. The ideal place to chill out and relax. Lots of places to visit in surrounding areas. We especially liked the Conway Marina Mulberry Hotel -good food and ambient atmosphere. The road up to Y Caban is quite steep and narrow but we didn’t have a problem with it.

Lovely place, all the facilities you could need.

A well equipped kitchen, nice and clean, ideal for families. If you have someone with mobility issues, not the best walking up to the cabin, some of the paving stones are uneven but absolutely fine inside as all on one level. A great base close to lots of things to do. Only downside is its up a steep, winding road mainly 1 car wide. Found some locals a bit speedy on this road, and it takes a while to get down to the main road if exercising caution! A lovely break, in a secluded quiet area, really enjoyed!

he Cabin is excellent with everything appearing to be new except the television which is superfluous as the is no television signal except for Liverpool TV Although we had a very good holiday there are features that caused problems.

The cabin is situated at the end of a 2 mile single track lane with limited passing places, much reversing. It would upset some drivers. Although the parking area seems sufficient it is very difficult to enter from the very narrow road. Once in the gate it is difficult to turn around for the exit. The distance from the car parking area to the cabin is not a short walk, it is around 40 yards up an inclined uneven path with steps up to the cabin. My wife is disabled but can walk a short distance, this was too much for her. Fortunately she has a powered buggy which managed the distance with a bit of help. As I said previously we had a really good holiday, the cabin is ideal but I think you should put a warning on your website. I hope I have not seemed too critical but I am trying to help future occupants.

So enjoyed my stay in Y Caban so peaceful and well equipped.

A little bit tricky on the lane up if you met another car.

The cabin had everything you could possibly need.

It was very warm and cozy. The continuous sound of the stream and birdsong was magical, felt like a real little haven. The final approach and parking could be a bit tricky if you weren’t a confident driver but I managed ok. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re after peace and tranquillity.

The owner, Jayne is a wonderful person.

She helped us to carry our luggage to the cabin as we are disabled. When we had strong winds, it blew over a tree and she sent her son up straightaway to sort it out. Things are never too much trouble. I would go back again

The property owners have gone above & beyond to make there cabin a fantastic stay, they have thought of every home comfort, we didn't need a thing!

! I took extra blankets/jumpers because I feel the cold, but never needed them! The cabin is fitted with a top heating system, very warm cosy bedding & the best comfy mattresses... The best night's sleep! With a stunning waterfall just to the side of the property it was so tranquil with a morning cuppa & the autumn leaves falling from the trees. Other reviews have slated the drive up the mountain with parts of the road being a no through road, im a woman driver and can honestly say its not that bad at all, And I'm already planning another stay there! A wonderful cabin in a lovely location!

Well resourced with everything needed. Peaceful with little stream outside!

Lovely Caban in beautiful surroundings warm and cosy.

The waterfall and stream very relaxing enjoyed every minute of our visit.

Only drawback was the distance 2 1/2 miles out of Conwy up very narrow and twisty lanes/tracks, difficulty in access to parking space through large heavy and sagging gate where sprung shot bolt did not align, and upward path plus steps into property.

This was a chore in and out every day!!! Not ideal for elderly persons. The accomodation was very good and every thing was available.

Our stay at the lodge was a very nice experience.

Comfortable, clean and wonderfully located for our needs. Its is quite and ideally placed to be able to explore north Wales and Snowdonia. The hosts were available on request but left us to our own devices so privacy was not an issue even though they live less than 100 yards away. Overall a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend and intend to go again soon.

A fantastic place really enjoyed our stay only thing shower was a bit small and water could have done with being hotter but could not fault anything else wanted for nothing

Such a special place!

Very private & tucked away, the stream gives an amazing sound. The cabin is warm, spacious, water hot, everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Definitely going back when I need to get away from it all! Having said that it’s only 10minutes from plenty of places so you could use it as a base if you wanted to explore north wales

!!! The cabin was spotlessly clean and very spacious for 3 of us. Loved the open plan layout so all the family could be together. The cabin was even better in real life than the pictures on the website. Heating in every room, was so toastie. All utensils provided and if you needed anything else all you had to do was to ask the wonderful Jayne, who was so helpful. From the moment I got out the car on arrival, I found it magical! Surrounded by trees, the walk to the front door of the cabin, through the garden followed the most beautiful stream. To hear the constant running water brought a sense of peace, calm and tranquility, just beautiful! We were there to climb Snowdon, which was only 30-40 minute drive. Conwy Castle in the town centre was approximately 10 minute drive, Chester one hour drive and Aber Falls 30 minute drive. If you love walking and hiking in the countryside, this is for you, if you enjoy peace, reading, relaxing or sightseeing this is for you. Just a magical little hideaway. Miss it already! Absolutely amazing stay this cabin is beautiful, the little stream next had a waterfall too (might be the time of year with all the rain).

I’ve genuinely never stayed anywhere so clean I’m so impressed and the owners were lovely and quick to respond when needed. Will definitely look for availability if we’re visiting the area again, 100% recommend.

1 slight opinion is the bed could do with new mattress. We seemed to roll to the middle

Y Caban is a beautiful lodge everything you require is available it is a credit to the owners an ideal place to relax & chill with nice surroundings would definaatly highly recommend this property

This place is absolutely wonderful, nestled in a quiet area just outside Conwy.

The cabin was spotless, and had everything we needed and more. The kitchen is fully stocked and the owners were on hand to help if needed. Plenty of walking routes from the cabin too, look forward to visiting again!

Outstanding rural location, combining scenic walks with the added option of Conway a short drive away.

A very good base for exploring the area. Accommodation very clean and facilities provided excellent. Recommend a walk to the local historic church with its breath taking scenery. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Martin and Kerry

This place is a gem hidden away in the hillside, just perfect for nature and watching all the little birds feeding and the sound from your own waterfalls.

Some great walks from your doorstep offering amazing views and don't forget to visit the little church steeped with history that's just above the property. The property it's self is spotless warm and cosy and has everything you need and great owners on hand if needed, this was my second visit and will definitely be back

A very beautiful cottage, exactly as described when we booked it.

We all really enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing. The cottage was delightful, cosy & very clean. It was also in a perfect and very peaceful location. We would definitely book a future stay here & would recommend it to family & friends.

What a beautiful place and area.

Jane was amazingly helpful. The caban was clean, everything was available from cooking to bedding/bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay. Jane even left us a map on where to get what etc. Wonderful. The price was cheap and we will definitely go again. I recommend this holiday home to everyone.

Brilliant!

The owner was super helpful with any questions, very knowledgable about the area and easy to get hold off. The property was even better in person tbh, we really felt like we had our own country hideaway, in a gorgeous spot for the week. Y Caban was well furnished and easy to get to. There’s a lovely walk up the hill that’s a must do.

Y Caban was in an ideal situation for us as we prefer quiet accommodation in the countryside close to walking country.

The cabin was spotless and everything we needed was to hand. For anyone requiring a similar holiday to us I can highly recommend Y Caban.

A very beautiful well kept area and cabin.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet listening to the birds singing and the stream and waterfalls were just magical. It was just a lovely break.

A very comfortable, warm cottage, with a very well-equipped kitchen.

Loads of birds in the garden and lovely stream etc. although we would have felt a bit closed in if the trees had been in leaf. The area would be idyllic for walkers etc. (sadly we're no longer able to do hill walking). The layout has been changed since the photos, meaning that the only coat pegs are now alongside the TV, which is not ideal. We also found the lighting challenging for reading, both in the living area and the bedrooms and missed not having a mirror in the twin room. I would not like to try to park 2 cars (unless both were small) in the parking area, because of its cliff sides, and had to drive up the road to a wider turning to be able to turn round every time we went out (and I am an IAM driver).

The cabin is quiet cosy and is well equipped and private with lovely mountain walks a short distance away. .

A very relaxing and cosy retreat in the foot hills of Conwy about 10 mins drive from the town centre.

The stream and waterfall right next to the cabin was magical, our children loved making dams and playing in it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a quiet and peaceful retreat.

It was such beautiful relaxing place would highly recommend to people who love nature and want to experience it at its best.

The cabin was lovely and had everything you needed. I only wished the short distance to the cabin instead of single lane it was double lane as i personally was not confident driving it.

Such lovely surroundings the cabin was in can not fault it,it did worry us a little the single country lane leading to the cabin we did know it was a single track but not for at least 2 miles which was busy and the reversing a bit of a worry when not a lot of passing spaces,the cabin itself was spotless but we found the water was yellow and it did smell which made us wary to drink,this maybe to do with the filter system ?

The beds were not very comfy as the sofa and chair,well stocked with books,films and games if needed for children,we don't think we will visit again but such a lovely area to place a cabin and the streams and wildlife were outstanding.

Fantastic place in a great location and it's a walkers paradise

Property far exceeded our expectations, so well fitted out-it was a real home from home.

Our grandchildren loved seeing the stream and resident sheep.a big thank you to the owners for making us so welcome and comfortable.

Exactly what we needed a peaceful place with a beautiful scenery.

The town is not far away from the cabin. Waterfalls close by. I highly recommend this place my kids was very happy.

This is our second time we stayed at this property.

Previously at Christmas in 2018 and now in early summer 2022. Both visits were unique and outstanding at different times of the year. The host is perfect providing a very clean and very well equipped accommodation. The area is extremely beautiful and very rural which adds to the charm. If you desire peace and tranquilly in a rural unspoilt area then look no further. Perfect getaway, thanks again.

Excellent place, we enjoyed all our time what we spend there.

There is so many games and books and CD’s for kids , our son didn’t feel bored at all. 100% recommended to peoples who would like to relax from busy town’s.

Beautiful location.

Very well equipped. Warm and cosy. Friendly and informative telephone service. Reasonably priced. Would wholeheartedly recommend again.

We loved our short break at Y Cabin.

It was superbly maintained and ideally placed for walking. The climbs are steep but you can find complete silence up the mountain. There is a lovely and remote church to visit. The heating was more than adequate, the water was always warm and we liked the owners' philosophy about recycling and providing heating and water in an eco friendly manner. The approach road is challenging and the turning into the parking area is tight. I found the gate heavy to lift. Take stout walking boots and enjoy the sound of the babbling brook nearby.

We had a really lovely 4 nights in the idyllic wooden y cabin we could've fault it cosy ,clean warm.

and so peaceful in a tranquil setting we highly reccomend it and definitely will return!

Plenty of pans, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, Nice setting, surrounded by trees with stream running beside it.

The Cabin was amazing.

The road upto it was dreadful very narrow and to actually parking your vehicle was very bad. Narrow gate off narrow road. Getting in and out very difficult. Could do with WiFi but plenty of books DVDs in the cabin. Only complaint for inside the cabin. Oven was very dirty.

The pictures really do not do this lovely cabin justice.

Nestled in woodland surrounded by bubbling streams and waterfalls, it felt like we had arrived in a fairy glen. The cabin is very comfortable and one of the nicest we have stayed in. We loved sitting on the stones and paddling our feet in the stream after a day out. Well placed to visit Conwy and surrounding area. We walked up the hill from the cabin, it is very steep but there are some amazing views. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

WIFI would be a great addition to the cabin but other than that nothing else to add .

Wonderful peaceful log cabin away from it all.

Comfortable and clean with all facilities required. Loved being able to listen to the stream with no other noise pollution. An excellent stay and definitely recommend.

The road to the cabin could be a challenge for drivers not used to single track roads.

Wi-Fi could be useful for some guests but I didn't miss it. We enjoyed the peaceful location and waking to the sound of the stream next to the cabin.

Great experience with the quirky location this is a holiday back to nature sit in the garden and listen to the waterfall a peaceful location all you can hear is birds and the flow of stream water won’t give to much away as the Y Barn will leave you feeling refreshed

The cabin was amazing.

Clean, tidy and so cosy. It was lovely and warm all the time. So peaceful listening to the screams each morning. The owner was very helpful , left a bottle of buck fuzz on arrival , toilet rolls, washing up liquid , towels and bedding. The kids loved it, dvds to watch, board games. I will be going back. Lovely 5 day break..

The cabin is a beautiful idyll set in a peaceful hillside with running streams close by to lull you to a peaceful rest.

The facilities are exceptional and you want for nothing. The photos do nothing to reflect the beauty of the surroundings and The Cabin is exactly as in the pictures. The concerns for the current climate are addressed and I felt safe in the environment. There are welcome essentials with long life milk and a lovely bottle of Prosecco left by the hosts who are near enough to help if needed but leave you to make yourself at home. The location is great for a base to visit local sites and there is plenty to do. I had a wonderful break with my daughter and will definitely be returning. Thank you

I had high expectations for the cottage.

They were fully met. The directions to get to the cottage were a little confusing: a "yellow grit container" is mentioned, but there are 2 along the road (the second one being the mentioned one), could be worth saying this to help guests find the location.

Lovely accomadation in the perfect location the owner Lynn was lovely too!

Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cabin - warm, clean & cosy.

Pretty gardens with tumbling streams and easy access to miles of mountain pathways.

The only thing we could say that would be an advantage at y caban is a log burner in the living room area.

As winter approaches, maybe it would benefit people to have some heating in the living area. But other than that, I can't fault the place, the owners were quick to assist and help with the problem we had with the electric heater we had. It was a wonderful place and we will definitely be going back... V. Ainsworth.

Everything about our holiday was amazing.

The lodge we stayed in was extremely warm and welcoming and far beyond our expectations.

Lovely cottage, all was there what was needed, very complete.

Clean and cosy. The North of Wales is beautiful and there is a lot to explore.

Y Caban is practically perfect.

It's spacious but still cosy with all of the facilities you could possibly need and is located in stunning surroundings. We can't wait to book again and return!

Nice cabin up at the top of a valley nice and peaceful all facilities catered for nice owners very helpful however not easily found as satnav only takes you so far and instructions a bit basic and not much information is given about the roads Wich are single track a lot of the way with not many passing points so if you meet traffic it is a nightmare however other than that we enjoyed the holiday.

Y Caban is a lovely cabin surrounded by trees with a stream flowing by.

It is very comfortable although a bit out of the way, accessible by very narrow and steep country lanes. There are walks from the cabin but all are steep although the views make the effort worthwhile. The local lanes are like a maze and we would have been lost without our vehicles good mapping system. The coast and woodland walks are within easy reach by car though so the cabin is a reasonable base although it did lack WiFi and a distant view from the cabin which is blocked by trees. Good holiday though in a great area.

We spent three nights at Y Caban with our two children aged 5 and 7.

It was wonderful, Jayne was really welcoming and the cottage was clean and cosy. The little stream and grounds were perfect. The children played outside and especially loved Yammy the sheep and her new lamb. The location too was fantastic peaceful hills yet close enough to all the many delights of North Wales. We’ll be returning!

A lovely lodge nestled high in the hills.

It had everything we needed to have a very comfortable holiday. A particular highlight for our children was being able to explore the garden and the streams in it - such fun. The lodge is ideally situated for easy access to Snowdonia, the coast, Anglesey etc. Would definitely recommend and we hope to return.

The peace and quiet and location was amazing Extremely comfortable and cosy after a day out exploring Lovely walks and nearby places to visit Conwy was a great place to spend a good few hours, we all enjoyed it there Can't wait to stay again

The most Beautiful Christmas getaway ever.

On arrival we were greeted with wine and fudge sweets left for us on the table. Made to feel very welcome. The Y Caban (the cabin) was warm, cosy, clean and very well equipped. Our wonderful host Mrs Moore had decorated the cabin with a Christmas tree and lights inside and outside. The location is beautiful with water falls and stream on three sides, idyllic. There are many very picturesque attractions only 10-15 minutes’ drive away even in winter. The road leading to the cabin is tight and winding, that you get used to, just adds to the attraction. If you enjoy peace and quite and love country life then this place is very highly recommended. Will certainly be returning.

Y Caban is bigger than it looks on the pictures and occupies an elevated position at the rear of the owners land.

We had a wonderful week there. Not only is the location idyllic but the living space is perfect for a family break. It's rare you go on holiday and feel so at home. We had everything we needed including a lovely host. Conwy itself is just brimming with things to do and the beach, which is 15 minutes away is fab. We spent a lot of time in the lovely town too. We didn't manage to do everything, which is good because it means we get to go back. Loved it!

Holiday was great.

We visited everywhere we wanted to visit. Accommodation itself was fine, and in a beautiful spot. Only saw the owners once, who were very friendly and let our children play on their daughter's swing and in their garden. Lodge had everything we wanted. Beds were comfy, shower was hot. All good!

We really enjoy our week at the cabin , but it is the first time in 10 years of taking holidays in cabins/holiday cottages that the owners didn't meet us on arrival or at some point during the stay we really found it strange.

Apart from that the cabin was lovely, inviting, well equipped and in a quite area which we love and the stream was an amazing bonus.

This is a beautiful cabin, we loved staying here.

It's a lovely quiet setting with the sound of the stream passing by. The cabin is very well equipped indeed, with everything you could need. We were particularly impressed with ecological aspects, and attention to detail. We did find the narrow and hilly roads, whilst very picturesque, a bit scary in case of meeting the occasional vehicle coming in the opposite direction, but we didn't actually experience any problems. Sadly the lanes were a bit too hilly for walking for our elderly knees, although one of us did walk some way up after turning left out of the cabin drive and was rewarded with fantastic views and scenery. We had a lovely welcome package so could get a cup of tea on arrival and were treated to a delightful floral posy which lasted the whole week. We tried approaching it initially from the south trying to avoid Conwy, but that was a mistake and we'd recommend head for Conwy first and then follow the instructions, apart from the final sign for the Old Church, (and the recent absence of the phone box didn't help) where you need to turn right instead of left. The heatwave and constant sunshine was a real bonus, if a bit of a trial at times, but if we'd had rain and not wanted to go out there was plenty to do "at home". We'd recommend this heartily. as a great place to explore the area, which has much to offer.

!! Beautiful place so relaxing and peaceful loved every min we were so chilled out. The owner has thought of everything its a home from home! She is a lovely friendly lady very helpful but gives u privacy. Its 3 miles from conwy we visited lots lovely place lovely ppl! George & dragon pub lovely! Conwy castle is beaut! Absolutely amazing.

The cabin is gorgeous surround by streams and waterfalls. Hosts were great had one day of bad snow and they messaged to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be booking to stay there again.

Fantastic place to stay highly recommended, can be a difficult road to drive to, but once there it is very scenic and close to the mountains and walking paths.

We visited in winter and still had a great time but I could imagine in the summer it would be beautiful!

Owner has put a lot of thought into furnishings and equipment. Lane up to the lodge was very narrow and lots of bends. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

! Beautiful beaches to stroll along and plenty to do within a 5 mile radius. The cabin was idyllic.... beautiful sunrises and sunsets and lulled to sleep by the sound of the stream which covers three sides of the cabins setting. Would definitely book again and strongly recommend it to our friends
