Meadow Lodge

Property was jot cleaned the bed sheets were not changed me and my partner found so many hairs.

The drive they did not take care of it snowed and we got stuck. Absolute disaster.

This is the third time that I have stayed here and I love it.

There have been a few improvements that were great. A couple of issues that were sorted out very quickly. Thank for the lovely welcome gift. I can still recommend this lodge and location and I will be returning in March 2026.

The good.

.. Lovely setting and property. Amazing hot tub. Comfy bed. Large and spacious outside terrace. High pressure shower. The bad... Wasp, fly and flying ant infestation. Car park too far away from property. Cheap toilet roll (not enough for our stay). Cheap and not enough wash liquid. Bi- fold doors would not slide open. Radiators wouldn't work so wet towels for our 5 day stay. 60 mile round trip to nearest large supermarket.

Lovely location Very peaceful Nice scenery Nice walks around the local area and cafes Hot tub great addition and private not overlooking other cabins / very private Comfortable bed Nice bathroom Easy to use kitchen hob / cooker Plates cutlery pots pans basic kitchen cooking utensils provided / take own binbags and 2 towels provided would suggest taking more **buy extra logs if staying in winter** Took 3 baskets of logs and 1 of kindling to get the hot tub up to temp, took about 3 hours to get it hot enough to get in so factor that in to your arrival time

This was my 2nd visit this year.

I love this place so tranquil and relaxing. I go on my own with my dog. The hot tub was lit in advanced and I was greeted by a friendly gentleman. The first visit I struggled with the hot tub lid as it was too heavy for one person. I'm pleased to say that it has been replaced by a new lighter one and I was able to use it more often. The lodge itself is comfortable and warm, with everything that you need. The bed is comfortable and the views amazing. I ate alfresco all week. As you can tell I love this place and will be booking again for next year.

I was not planning on leaving a review.

However upon our checkout, we got confronted by one of the owners, who instead of even offering any form of apology for the poor conditions that we had reported, he instead ambushed us and was very confrontational about the fact that we had decided to raise some concerns for the cleanliness of the property. It left a very sour taste in our mouths as we were leaving and frankly it was the main reason why we are leaving a negative review. Aside from this, upon entering the property on the first day, we were greeted with an infestation of flies (including one in the kettle), and we had to spend hours trying to get rid of them. The pans were dirty and we weren’t provided with sufficient cleaning products (i.e cleaning spray etc) to clean dishes adequately and to even maintain hygiene and cleanliness in general. Furthermore, the host(s) were generally unresponsive to calls whenever we needed assistance, for example we ordered and paid for some extra wood from them and upon payment we received no response from them about receipt of the wood until the last minute.

Our stay from start to finish was perfect!

It absolutely blew us away. The lodge was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. Appliances easy to use. Hot tub once heated was fabulous and did stay warm into the next day so hardly took any time at all to re-heat. We called to order more logs and they were with us super fast. We all left feeling re charged and happy, and will definitely be coming back. Thank you so so much.

Beautiful area, secluded and very quiet.

Just what we needed. Lodge set up was great, however cleanliness not so much. On our arrival we found a cigarette butt on the bathroom floor. Hand wash dispenser above the bathroom sink was empty. Cutlery and crockery were dirty and no washing up liquid was provided. Also pillows were very firm and not comfortable at all, but I guess that’s a personal preference. Overall lovely place, but cleanliness must improve.

Trolley to get bits from car to lodge is a good idea.

Really is 2 adults & 2 kids accommodation , only 2 of us so it’s fine . Extra comfortable seating for outside would have been nice as opposed to camping chairs. All in all though a nice stay in a beautiful area.

Very nice cottage and beautiful location.

WiFi unfortunately didn't work and sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, but the view was stunning and hot tube very relaxing. I would only add some nice deck chairs for lying down. Cottage was equipped enough for our short stay, for a longer stay I would definitely choose accommodation with washing machine and dishwasher, also a bit bigger fridge freezer. It was nice and clean apart from a few dog's hair on the sofa

Heavenly Lodge so quiet and peaceful, we both enjoyed it very much as did the dog if I had one suggestion for the meadow Lodge would be to have one of those garden trolleys to cart the luggage down and back up

On arrival the gentlemen who greeted us were very helpful and pleasant.

The accommodation was as described and the surroundings peaceful

We loved it here.

We had the relaxing weekend we wanted. There was a welcome pack to tel us how to use everything and how to start the hot tub which was great and really handy. We had privacy away from the other lodges which was nice. The scenery was beautiful. The lodge itself was lovely and we could not fault it. Instructions to the lodge were easy to follow. We will definitely be making a return trip

Lovely weekend stay at Meadow Lodge.

Such a remote and peaceful setting. My only suggestion would be to maybe have a store onsite with essentials like coffee/tea/sugar available to purchase just because the nearest supermarket is a good half an hour drive. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back and maybe trying out the other accommodation options.

We had a lovely honeymoon stay in Meadow Lodge.

The location is superb in the middle of nowhere up a hill and the lodge itself is of a good spec. We found that the place was lacking the human touches we’ve become accustomed to on all other self catering stays that would have made the stay excellent. We were left just less than half of 1 toilet roll which became a problem due to my partners medical condition. We were told someone would bring these up for 9:30am on our first morning but arrived just shy of 11am with no apology. There was only 1 wine glass and the only Prosecco style glass was cracked in the cupboard. There was no hand soap provided which was a surprise. There were no tools provided to clean the BBQ which had elements fixed together and required an appropriate cleaning tool. This was a concern as rules state a fine if no cleaned. There was also no complimentary items ie tea/coffee however I accept these shouldn’t necessarily expected. Despite all of this we would return due to the lodge itself and the location it’s set in.

I stayed at Meadow Lodge with my sister and our two dogs, the lodge was immaculately clean and was very comfortable.

The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed a couple of home cooked meals sat on the terrace. My dog Gracie is a German Shepherd and she had a great time with there being so much open space, she constantly had her ball in her mouth wanting to go out and play. There is also a lovely wooded walk at the top of the meadow which was ideal for walks with the dogs, we will definitely be revisiting

Upon arrival we found the following issues No hand soap in bathroom Insufficient glasses provided Bathroom sink hard to use with my arthritis The hot tub cover is extremely heavy and was leaking out polystyrene balls into the hot tub.

A very lovely place to stay, cannot fault the location.

Bathroom could have done with mould remover cushion on settee not clean felt as it should have had a good clean plus said towels provided only 2 could job I took some it was lovely place so quiet great for the dogs but I think could have had good clean apart from all this had lovely time

I spent 4 nights here and was extremely lucky to be the only person staying .

I thought it was going to be cold, but its a warm a cozy place to stay with just enough facilities. The gentleman that greeted me was very nice and gave clear instructions on how to heat the hot tub. Unfortunately as it was just me staying I only got to use it once as the lid needs 2 people to remove and replace. It's a beautiful location definitely a hidden gem and I look forward to returning.

Lovely lodge in a fantastic setting.

Great 2 night stay as a family of 5(2 adults, 2 children and a puppy). Read the directions before setting off. The lanes are a little narrow and steep on the approach.

Lovely property in beautiful location Only negative is that after we'd booked and paid, we realised we'd been charged an extra fee for logs for heating the hot tub which we had no intention of using and didn't use.

So think this really should be refunded.

What an absolute dream.

This place was everything we dreamt of and more, idyllic infact! We wanted a little bit of peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings and our dreams really did come true. The cabin is perfect, cosy and warm and had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect and easy to heat. The fire pit was lovely for our final night. Lots of wildlife around, binoculars definitely came in handy and I am so glad I packed them. All booked again for November and we are counting down the days already, thanks for a perfect holiday.

Property perfect, absolutely no issues with it and would definitely stay again.

We had a fab break amazing view from the cabin.

We arrived late on our first night and the tv didn’t work, the next day a lovely gentleman came to fix it so all was good. The hot tub is amazing once warm stays warm and didn’t take too long to heat up. The cabin could do with a bit of TLC some new curtains, a new kettle as that one has seen better days a few other minor things but the stay was just what the doctor ordered.

! Beautiful view of the mountains from the lodge great waking places right on your door step too. Also had a very useful guide book that had all the information you needed.

We had a lovely stay, was everything we asked and looked for.

Very peaceful. We have no complaints, it was an easy process from booking to going, absolutely no hassles.

second time stay - wonderful- we love the remote location- the view is stunning

Stunning views, brilliant hot tub and the owner was so friendly and helpful.

Close enough to drive to places for days out, but so far off the beaten track that it offered the idyllic peaceful relaxing break with the dogs we needed. The only suggestion would be an extra couple of tea towels and bin bags, as well as bed linen for the sofa bed.

Absolutely woild recommend staying here.

The bed is so comfortable. There's plenty of room inside and has everything you need for your stay. The hot tub is lovely even if you do have to make a fire and heat it your self witch can take a good few hours to get right. The staff where all lovely and always at hand if you need them. The lodge we stayed had views to die for and the dogs absolutely loved every minute of it we stayed here for 9 nights and didnt want to come home . Can not wait to return.

My wife and I had an amazing week in North Wales, Meadow lodge was a great place to stay and the views from the lodge were incredible.

Had an amazing Monday to Friday stay here as two adults and two dogs.

The views are amazing, the lodge has everything you need, the hottub was lovely and the team were happy to help. Location was great for what we wanted, secluded but close to some lovely walks and close enough to town to pick up a takeaway one evening. Would stay again.

Just had a fantastic stay at the lodge!

Location was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The lodge was perfect- on the small size for a family of 4 and a dog, but it was manageable and had everything we needed. Only small negative was that I tried to contact the 3 ‘contacts’ provided in the file on the first night to enquire about where the fire pit was, but there was no answer to any of my calls and no call back. It didn’t matter though and certainly didn’t spoil our wonderful week. Thoroughly recommend! Thank you!

Our second time staying at hidden meadows.

We love this place. Peaceful and stunning views. We received a lovely surprise from the staff. We arrived back to the lodge to find bottle wine,card, and chocolates to celebrate our anniversary. Speedy response when we asked for additional logs, thank you. There are a few little areas inside that would benefit from repair / replacement. But it was very clean. Looking forward to returning

Lovely lodge however no contact with the owner- no checking in process or greeting which was odd.

when we arrived the electric was off and hot tub was not filled, as stated. extremely remote, nearest town doesn’t have a supermarket and anything suitable is approx 15miles away. with that being said the lodge itself is beautiful and as advertised. we had one encounter with presumably the owner on our leaving day. we were running 15mins over our checkout time due to an injury that occurred that morning and owner came storming over with her dog, who was off lead and intimidating ours. she very rudely told us to hurry, yes we were running slightly late but there was no introduction no manners and certainly no understandment.

The lodge and surrounding area was beautiful, it was peaceful, quiet and well maintained.

It is slightly of the beaten path but that is perfect. We had an excellent stay and would recommend anyone to book.

Everywhere was spotless, they had everything we needed including hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and washing up liquid. Hot tub only took an hour to heat which was amazing! The cottage was so cozy I will 100% return and recommend to anyone.

We were looking for a lazy, relaxing break for our family of 4 and this did not disappoint!

The view was amazing to wake up to every morning, even the kids loved it. The hot tub was lovely on the fresh autumn evenings too. The pull out sofa bed was very easy to use and the shower facilities was lovely. The manual was very detailed in explaining everything you needed to know without having to call anyone and ask for help. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and family! Thank you for a lovely weekend

Dirty plates and cutlery that we had to wash up upon arrival.

It didn't feel like a clean place to stay, which is especially important as it's a pet-friendly lodge. The curtains did not cover the windows (with the door having no curtain at all), meaning anyone can look straight into the whole of the lodge with no privacy. We had to use three bobby pins to pull the curtains across so that they would connect, as they were simply too small for the windows. The lodge clearly needed to be aired out as it was quite smelly when we arrived. The hot tub was amazing though, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We loved the location and facilities, slightly disappointed by no cafetiere.

It's not the sort of thing you would take with you. I would recommend that the owner provides one. Other than that it's fabulous.

Your listing needs to be clearer.

We expexcted 1 bedroom and a sofa bed in the main room. Im not familiar with the term 'studio' which turns out means there wasnt a separate bedroom at all. Your listing indcated there was a bedroom, I cant beleive this hasnt been raised before from previous customers? However other than the disappointment of not having a separate bedroom, the lodge was great, in a great location, we would return again as a couple but not with teenage son as we did this time. Some small observations/improvements - The shower head needs attentiion as it leaked, the tap in the bathroom was in a curious postion at the front of the glass sink, we kept banging arms against it when washing/brushing teeth, perhaps the owner needs to consider moving it to the back of the sink where taps usually go? Washing machine would have been helpful, the lodge accepted dogs so lots of our wet dirty towels after a days walking....Lastly WIFI was very slow and poor connection, we took our Chromecast so we could stream stuff to the TV on trhe odd evening when not going out - which didnt work due to poor network connection.

Views beautiful. Facilities very good. Very dog friendly. Very good communication with Sykes representative when any issues. One suggestion - to consider hot tub being with small roofing so when raining still can enjoy hot tub with hot water. However hot tub nicly done,secluded and private. Generally speakimg amazing holoday for people who seeking quiet and dog friendly retreat from busy and noisy daily life.

Lovely stay at meadow lodge, spending the evening on the terrace and hot tub was fantastic.

I’m not sure that this can be classed as luxury though. To our surprise there was no tea/coffee/ sugar. The bedding was fairly old and worn with horrible stains visible when we stripped it before departure. The bottom of the curtains were moldy. We were very surprised that the expensive “luxury” cabin also had a tiny little travel kettle and toaster, along with a tiny foldable hairdryer that didn’t really do much. Overall a really enjoyable stay, however for the price paid and advised as “luxury” we would have expected much more than the extreme basics provided. Tea, coffee and sugar and provided in budget type hotels, so I feel they should be here.

Pro's: Great Location/ Not overlooked/ Good heating system/ Wonderful Views/ Great for the dogs/ Great placefor peace and quiet.

Cons: No welcome pack with nearest shop 8 miles away/ No tourist information on local walks or places of interest/ Advertisedas "Luxury" there was no soap, shampoo etc. provided/ The bedding, although clean was not very nice and the duvet cover was well worn and not ironed.

We just wish we booked for longer.

I think providing trolleys from the car park would be helpful.

The lodge is adequate but a lot of basic info & amenities are missing; pillow & mattress protectors, there are stains on the mattress and the pillows. There is mold up the curtains and along the window frames. The sofa is unclean, previously had dogs on it, (Dog hair is still on it / within the fibres and on the bedding.) The lodge smelt dirty - doggy just not clean. The cleaning staff maybe just aren't thorough enough. It has massive potential but we would not return as however beautiful the views are, the lodge/cleanliness needs more attention.

If you are looking for a total peaceful holiday, this is the place.

The cabins are beautiful, cozy and clean.

Was spotless when we arrived but only thing was the hot tub did take a good 7 hours for it to properly heat up so you would have to be there all day constantly checking and only enough wood to heat up once! Other than that was a lovely stay.

Beautiful clean and relaxing place to stay, really good kitchen facilities and wonderful hot tub!

Very practical place - no frills.

Very disappointed that although it had a hot tub during the winter ie Valentines Day -; it actually took 7 hours to heat up with logs we had to pay extra in advance - not good! We were there for a week but never attempted a hot tub again! Just a little less than expected. We won’t come back or recommend.

Overall, the property was great and we had a lovely stay.

The location is perfect and nice and peaceful. Plenty to do in the area, or equally a nice place to chill out (would be brilliant in nicer weather) on the large decking area. A couple of negatives for me were: oven needed a really good clean, shower tray filled with water (plug/drain probably just needs unclogging), there seemed to be some kind of toilet leak as when I went into the bathroom the morning after our first night there was water on the floor behind the toilet. Also the door could be hard for some people to open/shut - it did need a bit of force. We were already aware of how long wood-fired hot tubs take to heat up but for people who aren't, they should be made more aware of the fact it takes around 4 hours to heat up.

The area is perfect with shops and a small village only 7mins away!

The lodge has beautiful views and is very pretty. The lodge was clean but not up to current standards and no cleaning products were provided apart from washing up liquid. We did not manage to use the hot tub as it took hours (4) and was then only slightly warm - i wouldn’t book a place with a log burner hot tub again as it is a lot of work when you are supposed to be relaxing on holiday.

This was a beautiful place with stunning views.

Absolutely perfect. However, the cleanliness when we got there slightly let it down. The log burner hot tub uses a lot of logs but was amazing once we managed to heat it up. Could not have asked for a better location.

Had an amazing week staying at Meadow lodge, perfect size for me and my boyfriend.

Facilities were excellent and the hot tub was lovely. The views you get from the lodge was amazing to wake up to. Would highly recommend Meadow Lodge, will be back again.

Fabulous location to use as a base to explore north Wales.

Cabin fantastic everything you need in it. Far enough away from the main stream to relax in your own part of the Welsh valleys. Hot tub was amazing for the views.

Beautiful place and views, would without a doubt stay again.

Helpful hosts. Minor niggles were make up or blood stains on duvet cover. Could have done with more kitchen ware. A welcome basket would add that extra star.

Very nice clean place to stay will be going again

This was our favourite holiday to date, we had everything we needed.

It was perfect. Our dog absolutely loved pottering around and watching the pheasants and cows. It was truest a great place. Quiet and relaxing, the scenery was fantastic.

The standard of cleaning in the room was well below an acceptable standard.

The welcome pack stated the room had been cleaned to a high standard due to COVID 19. This was not the case the bed and the couch had not been cleaned underneath and was absolutely filthy,the cupboards were visibly dirty and the freezer had food in from the previous people. The scenery was lovely but my weekend was ruined as I had to clean up when I arrived. Also I don’t recommend a wood fired hot tub was a lot of hard work to keep the water warm.

The loveliest lodge, the comfiest bed and the most amazing views!

Me, my partner and our 18 month old daughter stayed for a week and would definitely return.

The location and lodge was amazing only issue we had was that we spend 3-4 hours trying to get the hot tub to heat up and by the end it was luke warm.
