We had a wonderful stay at Y Dderwen in Bontuchel near Ruthin.

The accommodation was really lovely and felt warm, comfortable and well cared for, even with snowy and icy conditions during our visit. Despite the winter weather outside, it was cosy and welcoming inside and made a perfect place to relax. The extra touches from the host made the stay feel very personal and thoughtful. There was lots of useful local information provided and we especially appreciated the details about nearby walking routes. It was great to be able to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside, even in winter, knowing where to go. The setting is peaceful and scenic and the accommodation is an excellent base for exploring the area. We would happily recommend Y Dderwen to anyone looking for a comfortable and well looked after place to stay and would love to return in the future.

What a lovely pod!

Really beautiful views of the sheep and fields (along with a couple of gorgeous cows). We really enjoyed our stay. The pod is very cosy and comfortable. The hot tub was incredible - amazing evenings of star watching. Definitely recommend

What a fantastic place!

We wanted a few days away from it all and couldn’t have picked anywhere better. It was really clean and tidy and good quality. The robes and slippers and welcome pack featuring lots of Welsh products are a really nice touch. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this property.

The pod is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views.

It is fully equipped with everything you need, the robes & slippers was a lovely touch. Elen is so friendly and welcoming, she was there to meet us on arrival and show us around. I would highly recommend the pod for a relaxing break

Amazing Stay!

60th Birthday Celebration Beautiful pod with stunning views. It had everything we needed and was super clean. The jacuzzi was perfect – hot, spotless, and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing week at the pod.

hot tub was great watching the sheep and lambs also the great views.The pod has everything you need shower microwave and hob the bed was most comfortable I have ever slept in on a holiday. Would recommend to friends and family.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the pod.

On arrival there was a lovely little surprise of a bottle of Prosecco and some caramel waffles which we thought was a lovely touch. Elen came to us and explained how the hot tub worked and answered any questions that we had. The pod is beautiful, exactly as described and exceptionally clean. lovely little touches made it more special such as bath robes and slippers and even blankets incase it got a little chilly outside. The hot tub was amazing and we went in each night, it was so relaxing with an amazing view. We visited for a relaxing weekend and we loved it, the facilities were great and we will be recommending to friends and family. We will definitely return again. Thank you

Amazing Pod and Hot tub, Great location, the owner made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

The little touches made it even better. Truly relaxed and recharged after our weekend here.

This was our second visit, and it didn't disappoint.

It was exceptionally clean and the welcome gifts are a lovely gesture. The hosts have thought of everything and were very accommodating. It is in a beautiful location and so peaceful.

Y Dderwen was perfect for my boyfriend & I for our 3 night stay.

The pod was clean & spacious and had everything we needed. The little touches such as a bottle of Prosecco on arrival, toiletries, hot water bottle and blankets that was provided was a bonus. The view of sheep was fabulous. We loved the hot tub & the BBQ. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Could not fault the place.

The bath robes an slippers were a lovely touch and the basket of goodies was also much appreciated. Owner came over and gave us a run down on how to use jacuzzi which was good. Told me any problems just give her a call, no problems what so ever. Would recommend this place to anyone as once here you forget about what’s happening in the rest of the world. The old saying happy wife happy life fits perfectly for this place.

It was a well presented and accurate to the way it was advertised.

For a first time experience in a pod it has certainly set the mark to do it again. The experience of relaxation was well felt with the hot tub and the sheeps, watching nature and embracing the calmness. Would recommend to experience.

Incredible stay!

My partner and I stayed August 24 and adored this lovely lodge and its neighbouring sweet little sheep. The hot tub was fantastic, super clean, with amazing views in the daytime surrounded by fairy lights at night, making it a really romantic spot. We appreciated the in-person greeting and little welcome hamper from Elen - not often you see a host go the extra mile like she does! The secludedness is a selling feature with hardly any sound other than the sheep and the birds. There is a second lodge which initially I was unsure whether this would impact our quiet stay, but with the well placed privacy screens (which are in keeping with the country environment) we it really felt as though there was no-one else around (we never saw and only heard the other couple when they first arrived in the parking lot). Would love to come back soon and will be highly recommending to friends and family.

We had such a lovely relaxing stay at Y Dderwen from 12-14th August!

The pod was just what we wanted, it was lovely and clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the views! We arrived to find a just married banner and decor and a bottle of Prosecco after we recently got married which was the most lovely touch! We didn’t venture out too much as we went just to relax in the hot tub in peace! but the location of the pod is great. We will definitely be returning and have recommended to family and friends! Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation.

Great to use as a base then travel to different parts of Wales but fabulous to come back and relax in a quiet and tranquil space, the hot tub being a great added bonus. We would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at the pods in Bontuchel near Ruthin,North wales.

The site was stunning , amazing views of the countryside, very quiet area. Very relaxing and tranquil place. The pods themselves were immaculately clean and modern, had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Welcomed by the lovely hosts when we arrived Also the treats they had for us was a lovely touch. Everything about our stay was perfect, from relaxing in the hot tub to our lovely scenic walks around the beautiful area. We will be back next year and we will definitely be recommending the pods to our friends and family

Fantastic accommodation, perfect for a relaxing time away .

We had a excellent holiday in the pod, it was very comfortable and exceptionally clean and it had plenty of room for two people, it was also great to be able to use the hot tub after a long day.

The location was very quiet and peaceful and there were great views over the countryside. The owner Elen was very friendly and called round to see us to ensure that everything was fine. We enjoyed our stay in the pod and we definitely intend to return in the near future. Highly recommended.

WOW Where do I start?

As soon as we arrived we knew this was going to be something special when we saw the views from the patio, then we went inside what a wonderful little pod everything you need for a short stay, it was warm, comfortable and so quiet. Elen was the perfect host she came to explain how everything worked especially the hot tub which was really good I can strongly reccomend this place and we shall be returning

Lovely quiet location, owners welcomed us shortly after arrival and made themselves available for any enquiries over the weekend.

The Wife didn't want to return to reality! Highly recommend, and will be visiting again in the future! The baby lambs in the field opposite were also very friendly! Always a bonus!

The hot tub is great too. This was our second time at the Pods, we were in the one next to Y Derwent last year. The owner has though of everything guest could need and supplied them. Definitely 10/10.

The Pod was really comfortable and very well equipped!

The owner left us some Procecco and nibbles and also Tea bags/Coffee and Sugar which was a nice touch!! It was lovely to have the Hot tub as well! The view from the front door was amazing, the amount if birds, squirrels and grouse and of course the sheep it was so relaxing! Elen the owner was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was a problem! Pete and I are definitely coming back next year! We highly recommend the Pod and can't wait to go back! Excellent property in idyllic surroundings.

Owner was very welcoming and accommodating. One of the best pods we have stayed in and would not hesitate to go back.

Have had a weekend here previously.

So decided on another stay this time for a week . Again a lovely stay ,only downside was no oven ( one there last time ) just a microwave and hob . So unable to do some food . Not into ping meals . Apart from that no complaints.

Was an absolutely lovely stay, Elen was very attentive and informative.

The pod was crystal clean and came with everything we needed for the week. The BBQ and hot tub were amazing and we struggled to leave the pod even to have a walk around. Honestly the best break we've had in a while including going abroad. Romantic, secluded, and quiet. Cannot recommend enough!!

Brilliant value for money, everything was clean and fresh.

The attention to detail was great, with the local treats and the bottle of Prosecco down to the booklet with recommendations on things to do, places to see, restaurants to visit. Have recommended this to friends since our visit and hope you get some business from it, we really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing location, not far from the local town. Welcome pack was a nice touch had a lot of information in, with some nice sweet treats. Hot tub was really nice, being able to chill and sit and watch the sun set. The pod itself was luxurious, very clean and tidy when we arrived and the decor matched the area. I extremally enjoyed my stay here, would defiantly stay again.

Absolutely beautiful.

I can’t remember the last time I was so relaxed. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Gorgeous setting with a stunning view. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going there again soon.

This was by far the best staycation we have been on.

The pod is situated in the loveliest of settings with the most amazing views surrounded by the sound of nature. Amazing hosts, lovely welcome gift on arrival which was unexpected and the added bonus of a bbq. We loved this so much we have already booked again for later in the year. I highly recommend the stay at the pods.

It was a perfect weekend getaway and so relaxing. As we arrived we were amazed by the view from the pod. There was a welcome pack on the table which consisted of Prosecco, and snacky bits which were a lovely touch. The pod was squeaky clean and the hot tub was already set up when we arrived. By the door of the pods is a box which contains pillows and blankets for when it gets colder at night and you still want to sit out on chairs and table. It’s a short drive into the town of Ruthin and is a great location! We will be returning in the future to these pods!

What a perfect stay!

It was everything we could have wanted and more. The welcome package was a lovely touch (prosecco, chocolates and waffles) and there was everything you needed for a fabulous time away. The pod was extremely clean and the views were devine. The bed was really comfy and the pod was just the right temperature. The only thing I’d suggest is having outdoor towels (although there was robes) or bring your own towel for the hot tub as we ended up using the bathroom towels to dry ourselves.

Fantastically put together and provides enough room to move around comfortably but with no compromise of comfort or styling.

Property very clean and nice and quiet which is nice and relaxing. Owner very polite and friendly which made us feel very comfortable and she reassured us if we needed anything she would come and help us. The animals were outside were also very nice company

We really enjoyed our stay here and would 100% come back the place was really clean the owner was lovely and the little touches like the gown, slippers and welcome basket really go a long way this was one of the best pods we have stayed in.
