Woodland Pod

Just returned from a long weekend at Hidden Meadow.

We stayed in the Woodland Pod. Myself, my wife and 14 year old son. Its the smallest out of the pods/cabins on site, tucked away in the corner with absolutely stunning views. Very beautiful, very peaceful. The place is in need of a deep clean. Lots of dead flies and cobwebs in kitchen area. There were pistachio nuts and shells on the floor under the beds so clearly not been brushed and mopped prior to our arrival. There was no parasol for the outside dining table even though theres a slot for one, so there was no shade at all. Hot tub was amazing but took a while to heat up as its wood fired. Some coffee sachets and sugar ect would of been appreciated. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return but to a different pod as a bit too small. Thank you to Dave for all your help.

And the perfect sized pod for myself, husband and toddler. The location and views were absolutely stunning. We’d love to come back to The Hidden Meadow - and maybe try one of the lodges next time!

It was a lovely stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it .

It was slightly cramped for 4 of us, and we had to live out of our bags as no space to unpack, which we didn't mind as it was only 3 nights. The amenities are all there what you need, though the kitchen was rather chilly in the morning/evening. Absolutely stunning views from the decking and hot tub, it was lovely to sit in the tub and look across the valley to the mountains, if you go slightly up the path you can see the sunrise and the mist in the valley. Highly recommend for a long weekend away.

Our only issue was the kitchen area.

It was difficult to maintain a clean area due to a lack of cleaning supplies in the pod. We felt that a deeper clean could have been done prior to our arrival. As it's open and insects can get in, we expected some cobwebs, etc, but it seemed like there hadn't been a deep clean for a while, and these had started to pile up. It wasn't the biggest issue, and we definitely enjoyed our stay, just something to bear in mind. The hot tub definitely took our mind off this, and the views from the pod were outstanding. We appreciated the welcome pack and thought it included everything we needed to know. We requested some extra logs and supplies during our stay, and these were promptly dropped off, no hassle. We would definitely stay again, just in a different pod.

This place is a little gem.

Hot tub and fire pit are a winner.

We asked a member of staff for some extra wood one morning, it saved me a phone call with a variable signal but unfortunately it didn't appear.

I phoned an out of hours number and the Sykes person explained that she couldn't do anything about it, but didn't seem at all sympathetic or concerned about us not enjoying our holiday. I have stayed in places previously where there has always been someone around, or they can let you know where the wood is stored to pick it up yourself. It meant we all missed out on a hot tub experience after walking up a mountain, which was the reason we choose the place. I also found the wood fired hot tub really hard to manage the temperature, and perhaps a little more information on this, keeping the lid off once it was hot enough, or even how to put the fire out or cool it down etc would be helpful as I don't have experience in this and it got too hot the second time we heated it... A proper fire glove would be useful for the tub too. This slightly ruined an otherwise lovely stay, was really impressed with the hot water and shower/toilet facilities for such a small place. It was a shame one of the drawers the was broken and the oven shelf dodgy

We had a wonderful stay.

Property is beautiful and in such a stunning location. Directions were so easy to follow and made getting there easy. Plenty of hot water available and property was very cosy. Only downside was the process to follow to get the hot tub lit was frustrating. My husband rang a few times and kept getting told he would get a call back but that never happened. When we got there the hot tub was cold and we were hoping to use it that night. There were also hardly any logs available. After a few phone calls it was rectified which we were grateful about - maybe something to consider in this process.

Lovely place.

Definitely felt our privacy, silence, peace and nature. Nothing was missing from appliances, specially in kitchen everything was there what was needed to prepare food and to cook. Very good oven. Little radiator in bedroom saved us, gave us warmth. Definitely place to stay in warmer months only: Will be too cold in winter time. But everything as described and definitely place where to get away specially if you want privacy and spend special time with your loved ones❤️

Lovely scenery, good lighting, sleep pod is very well insulated so it’s cosy inside no matter the weather, comfortable beds, good WiFi too.

Would of been nice as it’s classed as a luxury pod that you have a welcome pack with a few sachets coffee tea uht milks ect as alot don’t do a good shop till they get to the place. Also a dish cloth to wash up with was lacking as do want us to keep it clean as in booklet. Remote control back was missing off one remote and two cracks in glass inside the inner door were noted on arrival in case we where to blame for these, I did a walk through video on arrival for this reason in all properties we stay in. Also a walk through video of how we left it too. Cobwebs all on wall where cooking area is wasn’t great. The big bin outside was ok but when we went to put our rubbish bag onto main bins on leaving you have all recycling areas, maybe put a recycling area out side each pod and we could do that as we went along, as I wasn’t now on leaving going to go through the dirty bin and sort everything! We Loved the hot tub and good instructions, was nice and peaceful and precise thorough instruction on getting to hidden meadow. Would reccomned this place.

Felt a little insecure as the outside door to the kitchen area didn’t lock.

Apart from that the kitchen area was very cold and there were dead flies and things all over the window area, and the hot tub took 4 hours to heat enough to get into. On the plus side, single track road in was fun and with different way out meant no oncoming traffic. Nothing around for miles and gated area with key code entry made us feel safe. Overall nice place and would stay again. If seclusion is your thing then this place is a must, not too far from town of Betws-Y-Coed which we absolutely loved.

Just got back after a lovely relaxing break, it was our first time staying in a pod and also our first break with our dog.

Excellent location, stunning scenery, hot tub was great aswell. Great first experience all round and we will be returning soon. Joe was very helpful and quick to respond to messages. Would highly recommend if your looking for somewhere to escape the hustle of everyday life.

Absolutely love it. Fab location for walking Snowdon and then back to chill in the hot tub. I haven't given 5* for cleanliness because it's in the woods it's never going to be sparkling, what would you expect, all the right areas are clean, bedding, kitchen, bathroom,but it's still great. Wow what a beautiful location!

The woodland pod is like a little bubble that takes you away from the world and you're surrounded by nature. It's so lovely to be surrounded by wildflowers, trees and livestock. We loved creating a wood fire for the hottub and my dog loved having so much space to run and sniff! The only thing not making it 5 stars was because of the black mould in the bathroom. I could smell it from the bed and it made me a little nervous. The wooden door and other wooden parts just need cleaning properly. Also, it would be good to be given more than one roll of toilet paper for a cabin that sleeps 4 for 2 days. Another great thing was that the handbook was sent via pdf in advance so we could know about the time taken to heat the hot tub water and the best routes for driving to the location, etc. We would love to come back as a larger group of friends and stay at some of the other properties on the same meadow.

Had a lovely 3 days at woodland pod had everything we needed was comfortable and clean loved the hot tub which we had lit prior to arrival which was great… amazing views and walks up the hills behind would recommend and already have done and will be returning!

Couldn’t recommended here enough. Perfect for a romantic couple weekend. Lovely place for pets.

We had such a lovely time at the lodge and will probably be back at some point in the future.

A couple of things that we absolutely loved about the lodge was the cleanliness and appearance as this is really important to us especially as our baby travels with us. The pictures absolutely do it justice especially on a clear day, the view is mind blowing, and the privacy is amazing. A couple of things that we would take note of is that we arrived in the snow and very cold weather, we got stuck a couple of times coming up the very long hill and I wish this was maybe mentioned in the description of the directions as had we been in a smaller non 4 wheel drive car I don’t think we would have made it to the top and potentially crashed the car. Another thing that we struggled with (although you do state this) the kitchen area is very very cold and this was an issue when we needed to pass through or nip into the kitchen it immediately took all the heat from the main pod. I can see that this isn’t an issue in the warmer months however it was a downfall for our stay. All in all we absolutely loved the lodge, the hot tub, the staff, the area as a whole. We had such a lovely time.

Would be better in spring or autumn time, only because it was so cold in the kitchen area but we made good use of the hot tub to combat the cold. Will definitely be returning.

Great place to visit for a quick getaway, amazing views out in the country!

Amazing stay and we was struggling to get the hot tub going on our 2nd day and Joe was so helpful he made a call to one of the men on site and they sorted it out whilst we was out having food Really great customer service had the best time would highly recommend to stay here

Booked 5nights but have to come back after 2 nights, mattresses was extremely uncomfortable, so bad that we could feel the springs.

There was black mold on the walls at the side of the beds, the bathroom window was sooo dirty as well, again covered in black mold al around the frame. Cobwebs everywhere. Really a shame as the surroundings and views was incredible.

We had a wonderful stay here at the Woodland Pod on the Hidden Meadow.

It was the perfect place to escape to. Facilities were great with everything we needed available for our stay.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay.

Situated in a lovely private location, gorgeous wood fired hot tub, fire pit & seperate barbecue. Fully fitted & functional kitchen. Working wifi (ideal if you have kids who need their internet) Will be coming back 100% Ignore negative reviews, it’s in the woods, you get flies & insects. Same for any smells. This type of place is clearly not for you, go to a Hotel! Also mind ya head in the doorframe! 5 stars

Arrived to find pod not very clean.

Flys in the window, cobwebs and a smell in the bathroom. I heated the jacuzzy took off the lid and found the jacuzzy was dirty had not been cleaned. I could not use the Jacuzzy Very disapointed as the location and views were amasing. I will not be rrturning or recomending this property

The Pod was first class at the top of a meadow with stunning views.

All facilities were catered for and it has got a good shower. This is the first Pod we have been on holiday in and I must say we are hooked. A nice touch would be to have more info about the surrounding area and some stickers on the sliding doors as both my wife and dog walked into them. That said I can not fault our time here and would highly recommend a stay for as long as possible as we didn't want to leave.

Property was better than expected.

Very clean and even when i had an issue with the hob, there was someone at the end of the phone to ask. The hot tub was wonderful and at perfect temperature when I arrived, even though I was two hours later than expected. The property is very dog friendly and I felt safe letting my dogs explore whilst I watched.

We took our 3 & 5 year old there with us for a week for a little " Familymoon" the day after our wedding.

We all really enjoyed our stay, the views from the hottub were amazing with lots of privacy. So many beautiful places to see close by like mount snowdan and Conwy falls. We are planning on another stay with all our family and booking the other accomodations on site too. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would highly recommend

We stayed at woodland pod (2 adults and 2 children and 1 dog) for 2 nights and we had an absolutly amazing time.

The pod is beautiful and just perfect. The cleaners did a fab job as everywhere was clean and lovely- the fridge looked brand new it was that clean. The heater was enough to make it warm and we all had a great time. The hottub was perfect. I phoned to ask if it vould be heated before we arrived and David did this and when we arrived he was topping up the wood. A lovely friendy guy. This made a great start to our much needed break.After seeing some reviews about the kitcehn being partcially opened we were a bit nerous but it has all been filled in with wood so it was closed, which i think made a difference.We bought food with us and cooked in the pod- the oven was easy to work all other facilities were perfect!!. Im already looking at dates we can return next year!!

Hot tub was and is not fit for purpose.

The amount of time and wood required to heat the water is insane

we stayed for 3 days and really enjoyed the whole experience, a couple of issues were the smell from the toilet and the bedding which looked to be ready to be replaced with new.

Hot tub was amazing and the views waking up each day were spectacular definitely stay again thanks.

Me and my family stayed in the woodland pod.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely experience. It may of been one of the smaller pods but set back and high up the views were amazing especially when you're sat in the hot tub. I was a little concerned with other reviews stating there was mould on the pillows but i didn't spot any on pillows, just may be a little on the outdoor seat cushions which wasn't a bother. David was very attentive and helped us in any way he could. It was a brilliant and peaceful stay, we would go back again

I really enjoyed the location of the pod and the view, but unfortunately the pod wasn’t clean specially the bed sheets and pillows.

Lovely and comfortable stay with a young family.

Well sign posted and easy to find. Hot tub was easy to use and kept heat well, was great temperature by morning for the little one to have a dip too. Lovely open space, safe and lovely little woodland walk. Essentials were provided too which was a nice little touch. Overall couldn’t have asked for a better little break with my family. We had a great time at the pod.

Really clean which was a pleasant surprise as some reviews said otherwise, it was decorated really well. We had everything we needed in the pod. The views of this property are incredible and the wood fired hot tub was a great touch. Will certainly look at booking the bigger lodge with some friends.

Overall disappointed however hot tub and pod location/scenery were excellent.

2 days before arrival, had to come out of work to be on the phone for over 30 minutes to request hot tub to be lit on arrival (as instructed to do on booking information) - this was not done before we arrived. Therefore took hours to heat up. Was also really Disappointed with what is provided for the cost. Had to go out and buy all cleaning products to clean dishes and general tidying etc whilst we were there. Considering there were 4 girls staying there, we were only provided 2 toilet rolls for the entire stay; one small bar of opened soap on sink (unhygienic); 3 extremely miniature shampoo/shower gel bottles provided and nothing else whatsoever. Kitchen area was full of flies which is understandable and it is semi open however obvious that there hadn’t even been an attempt to remove them before we arrived as there were lots of dead ones too; lamp shade in the kitchen area were absolutely filthy full of webs, dust etc; really off putting and didn’t want to put any of our food on the side. Outdoor area was clean - enjoyed the scenic views and the hot tub. For the money paid, think there should be nicer touches and basic cleaning equipment provided - or if not - should clearly be stated with booking information.

Absolutely loved staying here.

Beautiful location. Loved the kitchen being open, clean, tidy, comfy as described. Hot tub was amazing used apx one bag per day. Great location for a base to visit other places in the day time. Wasn't overlooked by anyone, really private. Lovely to wake up to the sounds of sheep and cows and baby rabbits outside in the morning. Really was a magical break 5* Dog loved it too We felt we struck lucky as we booked a late deal too

I stayed alone in this lodge and have come home early.

There is a big mold / damp issue. The pillows had black spots of mold all over them. There are FULL damp traps under the bed. It didn’t make a comfortable or enjoyable stay. It is a beautiful area, but also having no privacy glass made me uncomfortable when other guests kept looking in my patio door.

We really enjoyed our stay, the pod was beautiful and had everything we needed, the setting was idyllic and the perfect base for lots of great days out with the dogs.

Hot tub was a wonderful thing to enjoy in the evenings after days of long walks to sooth our aching muscles. In short we loved it and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lovely peaceful holiday!

Absolutely fabulous accommodation, can't wait stay again.

Beautiful views, equipped with everything you would need, the only thing I would say is there are limited plug sockets, so if you are bringing a few devices you may want to bring an extension lead.

Overall was a beautiful stay, will definitely be returning at some point.

Views in the morning were amazing. The pod itself is a great design with all your needed necessities. If I was forced to find one negative it would only be that the kitchen area at the rear has no cover so it lets cold in so could do with that being closed off or some Form of heating fitted in the kitchen area for spring breaks

Lovely setting of where it is and beautiful looking pod, but this has to be the dirtiest place we’ve ever stayed in, dust in every crevice, floors we’re dirty, pillows had some sort of mould on (we have pictures too) the place was freezing it had one little storage heater on the wall, there was a constant draft coming in from the doors and the back bathroom window.

The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable, it just felt so cheap, not luxury as stated in the ad. for the money we paid we are so disappointed. Won’t be coming back or recommending this to anyone unfortunately. It was that shoddy we left after just one night.

Really enjoyed our stay, it was so lovely and peaceful.

Will definitely be looking to book here again on our next get away. Only thing I would like to say, is drinking the tap water straight isn't a good idea, my tounge was fuzzy for a while after it. Besides that, great place to stay, thank you!!

On the website it says Wifi is available.

But there is no wifi internet connection at all.

We had an amazing weekend, the hot-tub was the star of the weekend helping to ease those achy muscles after our mountain hike.

The only thing I would say which would make the pod an even better experience is to cover up those open areas in the kitchen/diner area where the woodland pod is attached to the kitchen. The wind howled through those large openings so sitting at the breakfast bar to enjoy the impressive views was pretty cold to say the least.

This place is perfect.

So peaceful and relaxing. Kitchen is stocked with anything you'd need,plenty towels and blankets provided, clean comfy bedding. Hot tub is wood fired so does take a good few hours to heat up but once it has it retains heat quite well, does use a good bit of wood to get to temperature though. Fire pit is perfect for cosy nights outside. The single track road leading up is quite bumpy but everything is so worth it once you're there. Will definitely be booking again.

The overall holiday was brilliant, beautiful views and the weather was perfect.

The only let down is that the hot tub took over 24 hours to get to a temperature which you were actually able to sit in, this meant therefore that we only got to use the hot tub on the final night for around an hour and half which was a massive shame as the reason we picked to stay at this lodge was due to the hot tub facilities.

Exactly what we wanted relatively isolated with only two other pods on the site which were far enough away to be unobtrusive, stunning views of a gorgeous area ,not many nicer places to sit with a glass of wine

My 3 kids loved it here and going for a morning walk was fantastic and straight into the hot tub, we are definitely coming back.

Great pod. We enjoyed every minute. The hot tub was excellent. Some gazebo or roofed cover outside wouldn't go a miss. Excellent place for my dogs also . Very peaceful

Such a relaxing week away at the Woodland Pod.

Everything was amazing and the pod was perfectly thought out and the bed was very comfortable. Being so far from the main road made it so peaceful and the views were superb. Make sure to take firelighters with you to help start the fire pit or hot tub. Would definitely recommend and a perfect base for North Wales.

Lovely glamping pod and kitchen area.

Wonderful location. Very comfortable and well equiped. The wood fired hot tub was really nice, although we did over-heat it on the first night while we got used to the wood-burner. We were more careful after that and used less wood, though you can still expect to get thru quite a lot, especially if you are using the fire pit as well. The hot tub retains quite a lot of heat from one evening to the next so it doesn't take too long to heat up except on the first night. The covered kitchen area is very good, especially if you are unlucky with the weather - our's was quite mixed but you always have somewhere warm(ish) and dry to sit. There is plently of parking space and you are well away from the other glamping pods, so no issues with noise. The views across the valley are amazing. Just what we needed. Very highly recommended.

We had an amazing time at the Woodland Pod.

On arrival we started up the hot tub fire. The pod was very clean and tidy and had a good selection of kitchen utensils etc. The shower was great, and beds very comfy. The nights were so cozy, the location is very secluded and so quiet and peaceful. the view from the pod is immense. So many nice places to visit nearby, I would recommend a drive to Llanberis via Llanberis pass, the sights are so beautiful. Thankyou to The Hidden Meadow x

We had a wonderful time.

It was relaxing, peaceful and the views at night were as incredible as during the day(clear skies). The hottub can be challenging, we got ours too hot for a few hours :) but we all enjoyed a relaxing time and a total disconnection with every day life.

Overall it was great .

.. there really are no negatives ! The only thing I would say is start the fire up for the hot tub atleast 3/4 hours before you want to dip

This little woodland pod is AMAZING.

Even though you can see the other pods each one has its own space and it feels nice and secluded. The pictures do not do the pod justice especially on how spacious the pod actually is. The kitchen is behind sliding patio doors but the back is open to the elements so it's not as warm in that section as you might expect but the facilities are great. Oven, hob, microwave, fridge and sink. The bin had a bin bag in and they provide a miniature washing up liquid, second bin bag and washing up cloths too as well as tea towels. Bedroom/lounge is lovely and warm, the beds are very comfortable and the duvets were nice and thick. It is so quiet and peaceful, bar the odd pheasant squark and so we slept like a logs. The hot tub is clean and spacious. I didn't think we would get the hot tub to heat up enough given the other review, however we lit it as soon as we arrived at 5pm and by 930pm it was too hot to get into! So providing you keep on top of the fire, getting into your hot tub on the first night is definitely achievable, just be careful to not over heat it pile we did. Over a two night stay we went through 5.5 bags of logs and 2 bags of kindling which was used for the hot tub and the fire pitt. We had brought logs with us but ran out after using the free bag that comes with the price of the cabin. So the next day we went to Corwen and found a DIY shop to buy some more. We paid £13 for 3 bags of logs and a bag of kindling so this is cheaper than buying more from the cabin. Beautiful setting and lots of walks. Doggy wash on site is a huge plus too. My puppy didn't want to leave he loved it so much, as did we. Will definitely be returning.

We thought on arrival the hot tub would be burning already so it was ready to get in as you can only check in from 4pm it took a few hours for the hot tub to warm up and we used 2 bags of logs and it wasnt hot enough when we got in so we had to get out the first night.

And we were only left with one toilet roll wich we though there might of been more in the bathroom so resulted in us travelling to find a shop. Other than that we enjoyed out stay.
