    “Mixed review!”

Booked to stay with 2 friends and 2 dogs. Lodge in good position to explore the coastline between Rhyl and Llandudno, luckily we had very good weather and made the most of our stay. Met owner and his Nan who was lovely and made us a banana cake in return for watering the plants. James' recommended we had Sunday lunch at the Black Lion at Llanfair Talhaiarn which was so good we went there twice! As for Summertime Lodge, we found it very dated and I'm afraid not very clean. There was old table legs and cobwebs behind tv and under sofa's. The bathroom smelled strongly of damp and the window blind was mouldy as was grouting over bath/shower. One of the dining chairs was broken and dangerous to sit on and the patio furniture likewise was not in the best condition with broken umbrella and ripped cushions. There was very little in the way of instructions and outside bins don't get emptied unless taken to top near road. There is a freezer outside in shed at back of property to be shared by all 3 lodges. Getting out of lane was extremely dangerous as narrow road with cars passing at speed. A mirror positioned opposite the entrance would be a godsend! We made the best of our stay but would not return unless substantial changes made.
