We have stayed in many Sykes properties and this is the best one yet.

The accommodation was perfect and the area itself is stunning. We did luck out with the weather. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking to escape and relax

.. in every sense of the word ... by a far margin the best lodge me and my now fiance have ever stayed in and we go on these types of holidays regularly .... i will always remember this place as during our stay here me and my girlfriend got engaged ... we definitely hope to return in the future. The place is amazing and a must stay!

We had a beautiful Christmas away at foxes den.

It felt home from home. Both dogs settled well into the lodge and enjoyed sitting in front of the log burner. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars an added bonus .

Return guests and would visit again.

Love this place. Great location and the lodge is beautiful. There is everything you need. Love the hot tub and the chickens, although no eggs this time. Love the new addition of the air fryer. My one piece of constructive criticism is please clean the huge hanging light. It is so gorgeous but those cobwebs need to go. Also visit food 2 remember in malton butchers its amazing! We will be back and cant wait to see what you were building.

lovely modern spacious accommodation which was fully equipped.

very warm reception with a very generous welcome pack. would have liked more comfortable chairs or sofas in the lounge. the situation of the property is quiet and has very attractive surroundings. the photo on the website does not do justice to its aspect. limited headroom in the upstairs bedroom.

We loved our stay at the hideaway, nestled on the edge of a beautiful village.

Plenty of things to do and lots of stunning places to visit.

Fantastic stay at Foxes Den.

Beautiful accommodation, the owners have thought of everything when designing. Comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom & hot tub a real treat! Great location with pub 2 min walk (though disappointing they do not allow dogs even in bar which was a real shame otherwise would have liked to eaten there), pretty villages of Thornton le dale & pickering within 10 mins & coast 25 mins. Hope to return!

Absolutely loved staying at Foxes Den.

My wife and I had a lovely week here. The Lodge has everything you need and is in a stunning part of the country. 10/10. We will be returning.

Great lodge in a fantastic location on edge of Danby Forest.

One observation, lots of sunshine last week, deck area could do with having a sun umbrella for shade purposes, otherwise 5 star luxury stay, thanks

We loved our stay at foxes den as a family of 4 with a dog, facilities provided were perfect and we will be looking to return in the future

The accommodation and wider facilities are excellent quality.

The owners clearly have a great passion for what they do. We have stayed here on three different occasions and would highly recommend to others, whether it be for a family get away or a couples retreat.

I never thought we would find somewhere as nice as this with a dog in tow.

Absolutely stunning lodge and a welcome hamper was such a lovely touch as were the dog treats. As a family we loved it, my son was devastated to leave his new friends Hettie and Betty. Everywhere is within 20-30 mins drive so location is perfect, we will 100% be back. The only negative I had and it's a small one, was there was no big outdoor dining table I seen one of the other lodges had a big outdoor table so maybe they are in process of putting these in. But let me be clear this lodge is amazing and we will definitely be back we loved it so much, like a home away from home.

Wonderful lodge in beautiful surroundings and ideally located for places to visit.

Loved feeding animals and my dog loved the field above and we liked taking in the view.

We have stayed in a few dog friendly cottages over the last 5/6 years, these cottages and the facilities are excellent, it seems like they have thought though what guests would like and what they would expect and provided exactly that, even down to an air fryer in the kitchen which i have never come across, there really Is too may excellent things to note here, all i can say is this couple have an amazing business model and experiencing them for ourselves i can say they are worth every penny.

Fabulous property Great Location.

Fantastic place to chill out for a week Loved being there, relaxing in the hot tub. It was nice having the hens ducks and sheep near the property.

We had a fabulous week and a lovely lodge, the facilities were great and the hot tub was absolutely amazing. The surrounding area is breathtaking with so much to do within a very short drive. We enjoyed our break so much that we are already planning a return visit.

Absolutely stunning property would 100%recommend, the villagers were also so very welcoming, every morning seeing the two sheep and chickens on sight was amazing, we visited the mobile fish and chip van in the village they are amazing Nothing had been spared in the welcoming products we received when we arrived ,and every detail for your comfortable stay had been thought about 100% will be back

We have stayed in lots of lodges around North Yorkshire and this is by far the best.

This was our second visit and we will be returning soon. The lodge is very well maintained, the facilities are excellent, there is nothing the owners havnt thought of. It's clear to see how much care and hard work goes into these lodges. The surroundings with the field for the dog to run in and the animals to see are a great touch. There's nothing like fresh eggs from the chickens you can feed for breakfast.

Incredible location and scenery, great stay and very modern.

Only downside for us was cleanliness, completely appreciate that beds/bedding was clean and fresh towels provided but unfortunately the rest of the place could do with a good clean, huge amount of dead bugs in/around, taps had thick green mould/limescale and unfortunately this was the same for the kettle and coffee machine. Luckily was pans and pots so we boiled water on the hob for a hot drink. Hoover and a mop is also provided in the property so I managed to have a good clean around before my toddler played and relaxed, people should absolutely respect the owners request of taking throws if they would like pets to cuddle as the sete was mud stained and did have dog hair all over. Again hoovered over this wasn’t an issue but people should have respect for owners wishes.

We had a wonderful stay at fox’s Den.

What I would say is that the main bedroom with such a great view, which was the deciding factor for us choosing the lodge was lacking a little in storage space I.e bedside cabinets and any draws for small items, yes we could have used the 2 nd room downstairs but we wanted to use the feature room, watching the sun rise in the morning through the amazing large window was spectacular. The lodge was very clean and well cared for, beautiful place and yes we would recommend it highly.

Our second visit to Foxes Den, this time to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary,it's still as clean and tidy as ever,the bottle of Prosecco and the hamper was much appreciated.

The added robes were a bonus after being in the hot tub. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our little one loved seeing the chickens every morning and doggies loved the run on the field. The views were amazing. We’ll definitely come back again!

Absolutely fantastic place.

Exactly what I needed. The accommodation was stunning. I enjoyed it that much, I've booked to go again in April for 3 nights.

We had a lovely stay and was very impressed with the lodge, we loved all the little extras that you got on arrival and also loved the idea of the logs and the eggs ( which were very nice) in the hut on site which we made use of.

We had the most wonderful short break at Foxes Den.

The property is beautifully presented with thoughtful touches throughout and is located perfectly for exploring North Yorkshire. The owners have put so much thought into the property and the set up of The Hideout. We’d highly recommend Foxes Den to others and hope to return ourselves soon.

Fantastic lodge.

Very well equipped and very modern. Love all the extra touches, hamper, champagne, jigsaws and games. Such a wonderful setting and very peaceful. Would definitely return.

Wonderful lodges and brilliant location.

Luxury is a word banded about a lot today but the Foxes Den definitely is. This is our second visit and we were glad to see the same little touches hadn't be forgotten. We would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a peaceful slice of luxury but maybe not to too many people we still want to be able to get booked in ourselves !!!!

Fantastic property in a great location

What a beautiful place to stay, everything as described, lots of lovely touches and needed nothing more than what was there.

Very clean and comfortable, Hot Tub was a welcome addition after long daily walks in the countryside. Lots of little leaflets and a super little book to pick walks from. Fresh Hens eggs were delicious for breakfast each morning, Nicole the owner is looking to get more to keep up with demand lol. The Dogs loved the little meadow above the lodges, perfect for a little stroll before going out for the day. Very secure as gated. really could not fault this place, the owners have thought of everything and were very accommodating when asking questions etc. we are definitely going back.

Absolutely beautiful lodge in amazing surroundings but in a great location to visit lots of places.

The owners couldn’t have been nicer and we also got to meet their extended family. Fresh eggs from their chickens were amazing. Lodge very tastefully done with lots of attention to detail. Comfy beds and beautifully decorated and furnished. Hot tub was an extra treat.

We all had a really great time at Foxes Den and we'd love to go back again in the future.

Everything you need and more

We had a fantastic time at this wonderful lodge.

The owners have thought of everything you could need from a welcome hamper, Prosecco, milk and orange juice, bath robes, a wine cooler fridge and gorgeous toiletries to a bed, towel and bowl for furry friends. We loved watching the horses and chickens and eating their fresh eggs. The beds are extremely comfortable, the walk in shower is fabulous, the roll top bath just luxurious and the enormous hot-tub is the icing on the cake! Fabulous places to visit within half an hour - Thornton Le Dale and Pickering are local and lovely, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough are approximately 35 minutes drive away. We had two lovely lunches at the Fox and Rabbit pub which is highly recommended as is this superb lodge.

Fantastic holiday home, beautiful and comfortable!

Everything we needed was there, from the porchway for shoes and coats to scissors and matches! We all loved it, would go back and fully recommend to anyone! Fab location too

We stayed 4 nights in the Foxes Den, and from the moment we entered the lodge we were so impressed.

The lodge is very spacious open plan. Has a kitchen with all you need. The main bedroom has a huge comfy bed then on the top floor there is another bedroom with unsuite and amazing views. It was so amazing to come to the lodge after walking all day in the North York National Park and relax in the hot tub and then light the wood burner and Chill watching TV. Nicole and Scott were always in communication making sure everything was alright. Also the touches of a bottle of bubbles once we arrived was really nice and also having fresh eggs for breakfast from the hens next to the lodge. The lodge is in good distance to all sight seeing places. I would recommend to anyone to stay in the Foxes Den and enjoy an amazing experience.

Great place to stay.

Very modern. Felt very welcoming with orange wine and milk provided and a personal welcome message on the little blackboard. hot tub was brilliant. Loads of space in main bedroom for luggage. So glad dogs allowed.

This holiday was a dream come true. The lodge was beautiful, the area breathtaking. We had everything we needed for a truly luxury holiday, from the welcome goodies to the high quality accessories. The lodge was warm and inviting. The log fire was so cosy and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. We will certainly be heading back in the new year! Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Beautiful Lodge situated in a small village with easy access to the Moors and Coastal towns.

The Hot Tub was great and relaxing after a busy day touring. The Cleanliness and Facilities were spot on and the little touches were appreciated. The field at the back was great to exercise our dog. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Foxes Den is a wonderful place to stay, beautiful furnishings and extremely clean!

Super kingsize bed is sooo comfortable, also a great bath and shower. The welcome pack is a lovely touch and the bottle of bubbly was great in the fabulous hot tub. We also had fresh eggs for breakfast. Nicole and Scott should be very proud of the homes that they have created, we will definitely be returning!

We had an Outstanding time at the Hideaway.

The accommodation was better then we expected and extremely clean. The lodges are extremely well equip and very comfortable. We had such a relaxing time, we didn't want to leave. There are some lovely pubs in the surrounding area and great dog walks. We only spoke to Nicole and scott by text but they were lovely and accommodating. A special mention to Scott (I think it was Scott) who pointed out my flat tire and provided a pump to help us get on our way. 5 star luxury and we will be back next year.

Brilliant lodge.

We had a great time. Everything high quality, great hot tub, the bed was very comfortable. The extras put in by the hosts were really nice, milk, fresh orange, eggs, bottle of bubbly all added to make this a special place. The biggest disappointment was that we had to leave!! We will be booking again if you could leave us a space!!

What an amazing place and location.

Had everything we need for our trip away with the child and dog. Beautifully finished and equipped and internally and externally. If we are back in the area again we will defiantly come back.

Gorgeous place and it’s attention to detail is amazing !

Everything you need is catered for! BBQ, indoor and outdoor sound system, all amenities in a beautiful place. Great for dogs with the forest walk just a few steps away with a field also to exercise your dog . Even has dog bed , treats , poo bags etc . The owners were lovely but not intrusive and left you to enjoy your holiday but we’re there and introduce themselves and asked if everything ok and if we need anything let them know , very nice personal touch . Flies were a problem in the lodge but then again we were there in the heatwave so not sure if that is normal and would hate to make that comment to put people off as the place is soo good and would highly recommend ! Hot tub is fab and local pub is literally next door. Would highly recommend going to the hide out and can’t wait to go back !

The lodges are beautiful and are in a lovely setting.

We recieved a warm welcome from the hosts and enjoyed our week in Yorkshire. The lodges are great for dogs and the hot tub is a perfect way to end the day.

Fox’s Lodge was an amazing find for us very tastefully furnished with everything you need to enjoy a break, The lodge brings you away from the busyness of life and offers a peaceful setting that we felt truly relaxed from when we arrived home .

The family who own the lodge really appear to care that you have everything you need and have a fabulous time. We will definitely return soon x
