Stags Mount

This lodge is absolutely amazing!

! We would definitely stay here again and recommend. All the lovely extras made it feel very special, treats for our teenage boys left on their pillows, and an hamper full of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits and also a lovely Victoria sponge cake and prosecco. There were dressing gowns and slippers for us all and even our dog wasn't left out. The dog exercise field was lovely with the most wonderful views for miles. It was very central for visiting many places that were quite close by. The hot tub was a big hit with us all, it was very clean. We stayed for a full week when we had a heat wave, the only thing we would recommend is an air-conditioning unit, it was very warm inside the lodge with only one of the two fans being beneficial.

A wonderful place to stay, very restful and comfortable, especially the beds!

Lots of thoughtful extras, from cake and wine to dog treats, spare poo bags and a dog bed, although we brought our own. The stair gate was great for keeping dog downstairs. The dog field for exercising morning and evening was very much appreciated by our mutt. The ducks, hens, sheep and horses were fun to watch, would love to come back with the grandchildren! A great location for visiting the area. We had a wonderful time, wish we could have stayed for longer.

We had an excellent week, the lodge was immaculate, hot tub was great.

Everything you need is there, plenty of local information. Some lovely extras touches like the slippers and dressing gown as well as the welcome pack. Fabulous location for walking and visiting attractions. Hosts were available if needed. Would stay her again if in that area.

Loved everything about the property.

The accommodation, the surrounding area around the property, the level of presentation everything. Anyone with a pet I would recommend this for a good stay away. Space for the pets and plenty in the near villages and towns for a good few full days. Will definitely look to book again in the future.

The lodge was perfect in every way, loved the welcome message and treats.

The slippers and robes are a great touch for the hot tub, hot tub was fab. Lovely to have speakers inside and out. Spotlessly clean throughout. Loved seeing the animals. One of the best lodges we have stayed in, we will definitely be back. The dog loved it too. Great location for getting out and about in Yorkshire. Dalby forest was lovely.

A lovely property that was booked for a special occasion but sadly I have been left feeling incredibly let down and considerably out of pocket as a result.

On arrival there was noisy construction work taking place a stone’s throw from the property and this continued every single day of my stay (including the weekend). The property was cold with no instructions available on how to work the heating and on the Saturday I woke up to no hot water at all. I was informed by the owner that nobody else had complained about the noise, so I am assuming they are inferring that makes it acceptable. I was also told the work had to happen sometime and they aim to do it when people leave for the day. So if you are looking for a relaxing break to read and enjoy the hot tub you would have been very disappointed. The owner also told me it was colder due to it being winter time. What should have been a memorable experience and a lovely break has been an expensive mistake. Never assume you are going to receive customer service that matches the property listing.

Outstanding!

The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and sited in a great location. The owners have done a fantastic job and should be very proud. Will definitely recommend and would visit again. Mark.

The accommodation is first class.

They really have thought of everything! It is the only place with a hot tub we have experienced where the tub is permanently on and cleaned every three days! The wifi and smart tvs are first class. Again the only rental property where we could view Sky Sports! The site is excellent, the layout, the security, the animals, the recycling, the dog’s field, the supply of both chicken & duck eggs and wood for the burner which is so convenient and great value, the parking spaces and most importantly the owners are so friendly and helpful. How could it be improved? It would be handy to have a hose pipe to swill the decking. A couple of trays for tv dinners! (note to self - don’t wear socks when descending the stairs!) We will definitely be back!

Above and beyond what we had expected.

This is the best hot tub/lodge get away we have been to. Everything was absolutely spotless and beautiful. The beds super comfy and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Loved the little personal touches such as welcome message on the board, little cakes, bubbly in the fridge and the bed/treats etc for the dog. Great location as well, can be as quiet and chilled or be out and about - whatever you want from your stay. Will absolutely be back here again!

Absolutely wonderful place with everything you could need and more besides

Lovely and well equipped property.

Great welcome pack and also a doggie welcome pack. Fantastic dog exercise field, and also loved the little animals on the site... very cute. Fabulous hot tub, and decking, not overlooked. Great location for a walk, or car journey into villages or the beach. A great stay in a lovely property.

A holiday lodge that delivered everything it promised.

Such a relaxing place to stay with every amenity you would wish for. Toddler grandson loved all the animals and the play equipment too! Hot tub was so relaxing as was the countryside outlook. Scarborough , Dalby Forest and Cayton Playdale farm not far to drive and easy to park . Would definitely visit again.

Great lodge, very clean and well equipped.

We would have liked a cupboard in the kitchen to put our groceries in. We would have liked the shower and toilet upstairs to have had doors for privacy, also not enough drawers or wardrobe space.

Beautiful lodge, clean ,quiet and very comfortable five stars from us both.

It’s my second time stopping at these lodges since January, and it will not be my last.

You have loads to do within an hrs drive, or sit in the hottub with music on and enjoy.. I’ll be looking to go around July time, if there’s a lodge available..

This is our third visit to these lodges.

They are well equipped it's like being home from home. The hot tub is brilliant and well maintained. The welcoming pack, robes and slippers are a great touch that makes you feel special when you arrive. Nicole and Scott are attentive to anything you need and happy to help. We always come away with a heavy heart that we have to return home.

We booked Stags Mount specifically for the large enclosed grass area (for 2 dogs) accessed directly from the decking, as shown in the photos.

This had been changed and the path removed, so we didn't have anywhere to allow the dogs to roam! The lodge was lovely, well maintained, but much smaller than the photos suggested - I should have realised the use of a wide angled lens!

A fantastic week spent at Stags Mount with our family.

The lodge was very clean, comfortable well thought out. The cakes and bottle of bubbly were nice touches on arrival. The location of the lodge is peaceful in beautiful surrounding areas to visit. Our children loved feeding the animals, the hot tub and sitting on the bench in the field nearly by watching the world go by. The hard work and dedication Scott and Nicole shines throughout with what they have achieved. We have had some lovely holiday in the UK and this one certainly leaves a special place in our hearts. Book it and enjoy!

We wanted to find something special and memorable for our short break and that's exactly what we found with Stags Mount.

The location is lovely, just a short distance from the beautiful Thornton Le Dale and Dalby Forest, the coast is also easily accessible. The accommodation is perfect, all comforts and amenities are so well considered, not just for us but for our puppy too who also felt right at home while enjoying his first holiday. The hosts are so friendly and thoughtful, they have a genuine desire to make their guest comfortable. We all look forward to making another booking here in the future.

This is a fantastic holiday cottage, you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.

Every detail has been catered for. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Clearly, a great deal of thought has gone into making a holiday at Stags Mount memorable. The hot tub was well maintained throughout our stay. This holiday home is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the local pub is just a short walk away. We had a great holiday and when we are next visiting Yorkshire we will be staying at Stags Mount again.

Amazing properties, the best we’ve stayed in!

We stayed in Foxes Den last February so couldn’t wait to return. We have also booked Eagles Peak for Christmas. Scott and Nicole have done a fantastic job with these properties, such high spec and comfort, everything has been thought of and catered for. They have horses on site so are always around checking if everything is ok. We loved feeding the chickens and their eggs are the best website tasted. There is a pub at the bottom of the driveway and Thorton-Le-Dale and Pickering are a short drive or bus away. Whitby and Scarborough are a also good day trips. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return!

Met every expectation of a lovely stay

From start to finish we got the wow factor.

Pulling into the property we thought it was stunning then all the wee touches inside were truly heartwarming. Nicole and Scott have truly thought of everything and clearly put the work in. My pooch Petal gave this a 5 paw out of 5 rating with all the dog friendly touches including a wee bed, dog treats and a note of dog friendly places nearby. Anybody thinking of booking absolutely go for it and try the fresh eggs from the hideout hens who come and greet you at the fence when you go walking by. All in all our week at this beautiful property gave us the tranquility we needed, I'm already trying to plan our return again.

Absolutely amazing place, we were so looked after and could not fault the place at all.

Little gifts on arrival and the owners were so friendly. It was a dream get away and we could not thank them enough. A truly wonderful hideout.

Stags Mount is a beautiful Lodge.

Nicole and Scott have equipped the lodge in such a way that it feels like home. The extras make it extra special, even the dog and a 7 month old were catered for. We had a great week and we enjoyed exploring the area. Definitely will be back for a third visit.

Beautiful lodge. Would suggest adding protection under the stairs as I banged my head retrieving a box next to microwave.

Could not have spent our mini moon in a better location, the lodges are amazing and built to such a high standard whilst keeping that home like feeling, we will most definitely be staying again.

Stags Mount was beautiful - we had a lovely long weekend here in April 2023.

The place itself is amazing, wonderful surroundings and the owners have thought of everything - so many nice extra touches. Great location to get to nearby towns and the coast. Couldn’t fault it, would definitely recommend! Thank you!

A truly beautiful cottage, the best we have ever stayed in

Fabulous place exceptionally clean & tidy 10 out of 10.

The only thing we could find that was missing was maybe a log basket to keep the place looking nice.

By far the best cabin we have stayed at.

Absolutely everything you need they have literally thought of everything! And added some lovely little touches to make the stay more special. Very dog friendly. We felt so relaxed after our weekend stay. We will be booking again for sure.

Stayed here with my wife, son (4), son (5 months) and one dog….

This place is amazing! Provides all the comfort of a big hitting holiday park or hotel but is remote and small enough so your stay is very personable and private. The welcome pack and ‘rules of the house’ make you feel that you’re staying with family providing you with a make yourself at home vibe. The attention to detail is subtle but when you see it you can only but appreciate the work that has gone into these family built lodges. Fresh free range eggs everyday from the hens and Thornton le dale village a 5min drive away for any other bits you may need. Pickering is another 5-10min beyond that. Plenty of local farm shops as well if you truly want to buy and support local industry. Unless you’re aiming for a complete break from the outside world which these could truly give you then there is also plenty of things to do with you not requiring to drive for anymore than 40-60 min. The one and only point I do have but it truly makes no odds to me but might for future guests is, there was no electric BBQ but was on the listing as a feature. Unless there was one but I failed to see it then my bad. I will 100% be staying here again.
