Otters Holt

We had a lovely time.

The cabin was perfect, and the log fired hot tub was lovely. The views across the field were lovely, we enjoyed watching a Kestrel out over the field. We didnt manage to see the Otters down and the river but we only wandered down there once. There is a cute little owl that sits on the cabins at times. We spotted it once, we named it Alwyn the Owl! There was everything we needed in the cabin. The information file was great. Mary and Steven were lovely, Mary came and explained some bits about the cabin and hot tub when we arrived which was helpful, we then had her number in case we needed anything else. Considering it is a working farm, it was peaceful will very little noise from the farm animals, and no offensive smells. It is a walk into Staindrop, or a 20 minute bus ride into Bernard Castle. The bus stop is right out side the farm, but be careful as it isnt sign posted - we just found this by searching online. We absolutely couldnt fault our stay. 5* plus for cabin, surrounding and owners.

What a great place!

Nestled into the field, it was peaceful, secluded and just what we needed. Stephen, the owner, was extremely helpful, lighting the hot tub prior to our arrival. There was a quiet walk down by the beck, past a disused mill race, to the mill and ford. The chalet was small but perfectly formed with everything you needed, anywhere bigger would have seemed extravagant for the two of us. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Otters Holt between Christmas and NY, with our dog.

We had the best time. Steven had the hot tub ready for our arrival. Everything we needed for bringing our dog, and some fizz and biscuits for us! The cabins are amazing, they still look brand new. Mary and Steven are the best hosts! We can't wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Otter's Holt, it was truly beautiful and magical, as my partner, me and our dog stayed for Christmas.

Wonderful, the accomodation was perfect, so clean, warm and inviting.

We had everything we needed for a great weekend. The attention to detail was grand, the place is set out to offer so much space and comfort. The hot tub was perfect and so relaxing, it was great to relax and enjoy the utter peace and quiet. Steven was lovely, so helpful and very generous, started the hot tub off before we arrived which is always a nice gesture. Really happy with how our weekend went and would recommend this place 100%

We booked all 3 lodges. Each one to a high standard as always. Steve and Mary are so wonderful and helpful. It’s tranquil and so relaxing. A good place to be for many places to visit without all the hustle and bustle. It’s not my first time here and it won’t be my last. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is perfect - attentive and kind hosts, quiet location and nearby (by car) to lots of great things to explore. I brought my dog with me and he had a fantastic time. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to returning!

Our 3rd visit to these fabulous lodges.

There are 3 lodges set in a very private, peaceful location. The lodges are really well equipped, lovely shower room, large bed, wood fired hot tub. The hosts Steven and Mary are extremely helpful and such a nice couple, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

Otters Holt is the most wonderful place to stay, it is on the grounds of a working farm, but set out so well, the owners Mary and Steve were so welcoming, there is everything you need for your stay, it is a must to stay I am recommending it to all my friends and we will definitely be back.

Great cabin for the New Year.

A lovely location and good area to have a break, lots of local sites to see and then of course relax. Hot Tub lovely.

My wife and I arrived on time as instructed and was given a warm friendly greeting by Stephen the owner.

The lodge was cosy and warm and our little puppy dog had a wonderful time, as did we. We know County Durham quite well and enjoyed all the local places recommended by the owner and known to us from previous visits. It was my birthday during our stay and I received a surprise present from Stephen and Mary. We would consider revisiting in the summer when we could avail ourselves of the hot tub. We didn't feel hardy enough for a winter time dip. Thank you Geoffrey and Patricia

Absolutely amazing, this is our second time at Otters holt and each visit has been brilliant.

The cabin is always clean and presentable when we arrive and smells amazing might I add. Being in the countryside is just wonderful, the views are brilliant and so captivating. The owners are so lovely and welcoming, they always greet you with a smile (you hardly see that anymore) There’s plenty of walks if you like walking or lovely countryside pubs where, again. The people are lovely from the moment you step inside. I highly recommend you staying here, you will not regret it.

This was our second stay at Otters Holt and we loved it just as much as the first time.

It was our intention to just stay put and chill and that’s exactly what we did. The lodge was lovely and cosy and the hot tub just added to the complete relaxation we were looking for. We had a lovely welcome and farewell from the owners too.

Everything was as promised, complimentary goodies were a nice touch, so quiet and peaceful and special thanks from EVA the dog for the comfy blankets.

Great place to stay!

Quite, private and all out relaxing. We've stayed in a lot of different types of cabins and locations and think this one was probably the best! Great host - welcoming, with a fantastic hot tub set up ready when we arrived. We've already said we'll be back.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay, the cabin had everything you would need, was spotless and extremely comfortable … the hosts were fab , seriously the most relaxing fabulous break we’ve had … cannot rate it high enough , we will be returning for sure x

We absolutely loved every moment.

The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, the freebies and welcome treats were really thoughtful. The hot tub was new to us, but the host took the time to show us how to best use and was always available for any questions. The cabin was so clean and cosy, the wood burner was in use almost every night and really makes the whole thing a wonderful and private experience to relax and enjoy the space and quiet. Our dog loved it too! We will definitly be back!

Seconding the other reviews that this is a lovely spot and well hosted.

We chose it for the location and the treat of the hot tub. With mixed weather for the week we did a mix of walking and visiting the sights. There is lots to do within a 10 minute drive and we took a longer drive out to Cumbria for a day. The lack of oven means that cooking facilities are limited for a longer stay, but there are lots of options for eating out nearby and pasta and rice dishes are easy to cook on the hobs. We have an anxious dog and she didn't bark from within the lodge, it was so quiet, even with other people staying and it being a working farm. Outside the lodge was also very quiet. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing break.

We had a lovely holiday, upon arrival we were greeted by Stephen, and he showed us around, it was peaceful and relaxing, would definitely stay thier again.

Just stayed 4 nights at otters holt and it was better than we expected hot tub was ready on arrival the owners steven and Mary had called us before our arrival to tell us it would be and what to do before getting in it , log cabin was clean and well set out with everything you need for your stay bed was comfortable shower and toilet were lovely and clean , the way the cabins are situated means you've got maximum privacy the owners were there if you needed anything or info and were very pleasant lovely walks around the farm and plenty to see and do within a half hour drive views from the cabin were lovely no road noise at all day or night all in all very relaxing break will be booking again .

Breath-Taking views.

Immaculately clean lodge. Facilities are wonderful. Our daughter books each year for us and we never tire of the views. The hosts Steve and Mary are very friendly and make you feel welcome on arrival. Loved walking around the farm.

On arrival we was greeted by the lovely Mary who showed us round the lodge which was impeccable and the hot tub which Steven had already contacted us to see if we would like it fired up and ready for arrival.

(Great customer service even before arrival). The lodge was warm and cosyand fully equipped with everything we needed for the weekend. As well as some welcome bubbles and biscuits for us to enjoy. Even Bowser had a welcome bag which made his tail wag! The farm has great walks for the dog as well as the enclosed field so he could have off lead time. If your looking for a relaxing, quite, romantic place to stay then this is the perfect place to stay. It also has some great places to visit locally if your looking for days out to. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

! We were so lucky with the weather you would have thought we were abroad! Steven met us an arrival , very helpful and friendly...Mary also lovely...Nice to meet you Both! All the little touches were thought of, Fizz, milk and biscuits on arrival. We couldn't believe how quiet and peaceful it was and so sheltered from any wind. We all had a lovely time , especially our little dachshund he LOVED it ...his favourite thing was just sitting on the decking. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would highly recommend it!

We had the most amazing time, enjoying the countryside, and relaxing. The lodge location is perfect, and has privacy from the other lodges. Inside every detail has been thought through, and we loved the otter touches!!! So nice arriving to a bottle of fizz, milk and biscuits, and even the dog had a goody bag!! Highly recommend a trip into Barnard castle. We went on the bus, and enjoyed a few drinks! Thanks Steven, and see you soon

Me, my Husband & our dog had an amazing weekend here!

We would 100% recommend and would love to go back! It is such a lovely place, totally peaceful & relaxing. Not too far a drive away from the local villages, about a 9 minutes drive to Raby Castle which was well worth the visit! The lodge/cabin was great, comfy bed and the hot tub was fab! The hosts were also lovely, they went out of their way to put birthday banners and a balloon in the lodge/cabin for my Husbands birthday which was really nice of them to do! (I did ask prior if this was something they did, but they did go above and beyond what I was expecting). Thank you again!

Cracking getaway.

Very peaceful with great surroundings. Not a huge issue but a softer mattress would push a score of 9.5 to a 10 out of 10. Me and wife definitely would book this property again and recommend to everybody.

Beautiful place and wonderful hosts

Once again we had the most amazing stay.

Everything was as it should be and Steven and Mary were so helpful. A lovely welcome pack, much appreciated and the hot tub was bliss. Wonderful to watch the sun go down with a glass of bubbly in the tub, hearing nothing but birds and sheep. Even our dog, Max was chilled out. Fantastic location, plenty to see and do within a short drive or walk.

Amenities were immaculate, even Jack the lab had his own welcome basket. The owners were very attentive and a wonderful 3 days were had, would definitely recommend anyone to stay.

Beautiful, solid cabins cleverly designed & sited to maximise privacy.

Immaculate throughout with everything you need for your stay. Kitchen has a 2 ring hob, microwave and electric grill with all necessary cooking utensils, crockery & pans. Plenty of electric sockets, placed exactly where you need them. Bathroom is spotless, shower pressure and heat great. Sofa and bed are super comfy! Heating in cabin, easy thermostat control with a separate gas fire Dog blanket, towel, bowls and poop bags provided. Wood fired hottub with plenty of logs & kindling for our 3 night stay. Stunning countryside location….glorious! Food for the soul. Thankyou to Mary and Stephen for your recommendations of things to do/see and for creating such a perfect idyll for you guests. We will be back.

Everything with our stay (2 nights) at Otters Holt was spot on.

Mary & Stephen are so accommodating, always thinking of us from complimentary milk, biscuits (top tier biscuit choice!), bottle of Prosecco and keeping the hot tub warm & ready each night. Everything in the cabin is so clean, kitchen lovely, bed comfy, bathroom clean/modern, & the gas fire is amazing. Lastly, a great touch is the binder full of info on nearby need-to-know things & details about local wildlife! 100% recommend a stay here :)

This property was absolutely amazing.

We brought our two small dogs along with us and I didn't expect two blankets and bowls for them. Also we were spoilt with complimentary Prosecco, milk and biscuits. The getaway was just what we needed and we were welcomed. The hot tub was ready and warm to use and the sky was clear with stars in abundance. We've booked again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Absolutely perfect!

A great little bolt hole for a wonderful relaxing break. Well appointed, comfortable and an ideal base for our first trip exploring the North East. The hot tub was a real treat and the perfect way to enjoy the clear dark skies.

Enjoyed the hot tub and the honey from the honesty box! Plenty of places to visit nearby - Raby Castle deer park a particular favourite with the dog. Owners very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

The location was beautiful, really easy to find with the sat nav.

Log cabin was spotless and the welcome milk, biscuits and bottle of fizz was a nice touch. The owners are lovely nothing is too much trouble. Hot tub super easy to light and stays warm. Bed really comfy, shower amazing and the gas flame effect fire is nice. Try the Brownlow Arms the food is amazing and recommended by the owners. We will be back soon. Not having an oven we thought we would struggle but there is a hot plate grill machine and we cooked pizza on it the first night and the hubbie cooked steak and all the trimmings for our anniversary

The owners went out of their way to make us welcome and were very pleasant and friendly. We went to chill out and relax and did exactly that because the lodge, hot tub and surroundings were just what we wanted them to be.

I have to say, this is the nicest lodge we have ever stayed at. Stephen and Marty are just lovely. We arrived late but Stephen was still there to greet us and show us what was what. Milk and a bottle of wine were awaiting our arrival. The cabins have been very carefully thought out, down to place mats and are very private. We didn't hear a peep from the other 2 cabins! The views are amazing and it is so peaceful. Lots of literature provided for what to do round and about. Stephen was kind enough to get the hot tub ready for us each day. We were supposed to take our dog but she had to have an op beforehand. She would have loved it and we will definitely be back so that she can enjoy what we did! Would recommend Sunday lunch at The Fox Hole. Thanks again to you both, the cabin really is a credit to you both, thanks again Lisa & Rob :)

Stephen the owner met us upon arrival to show us about and explain everything to us, he gave us some useful info on the local area and facilities. The cabin was spotlessly clean, could not fault a single thing. Would defiantly come back here. Thanks

Lovely cottage with wood fired hot tub

We were recommended Otters Holt by a neighbour.

The lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful and private setting that instantly lets you unwind...and the hot tub was all ready for us on arrival complete with complimentary fizz! Surrounded by countryside and bird song we watched swallows feed their chicks and heard curlew fly overhead. Our hosts were on hand for anything we had forgotten or needed. Our elderly dog even had his own bag with bowls and snuggly blankets in case he was chilly. A great place to bring dogs with local walks and many others a short drive away. The cabin is cozy and fitted out to a standard much higher than we expected and nothing had been forgotten. A wonderful place in mid summer...it never seemed to get dark. With a flame fire and central heating a visit in the winter would be delightfully cozy. We highly recommend this cottage or the other two on site. Thank you for a fabulous week of peace and rest.

The property and the area was idyllic. A perfect get away for a break with picturesque scenery. We would highly recommend this holiday home. Enjoy an evening meal at the local pub with a £5 voucher off supplied by Steve and Mary. Amazing log burning hot tub for us to enjoy and unwind. We will return again in the future.

Absolutely Incredible!

We stayed beginning of April for 3 nights including our puppy :) The whole experience was incredible, we have never been so relaxed! You can very clearly see the love and pride that Steven and his wife have put into the cabins, the cabin felt cosy yet open it was light and had everything you needed for your stay including some very appreciated extras such as a little pack for the pup ( blankets, bowls and

It was so brilliant to be able to relax and unwind with no distractions from the outside world.

The hosts are so lovely and very responsive. We had no issues during our stay and both ourselves and our pets enjoyed the calm atmosphere, plentiful walks, and beautiful scenery. I will definitely be looking to head here again!

When we arrived Steven met us at the cabin and ran through everything we needed to know, he let us know we could contact him if we needed anything but also left us to relax and enjoy out break, which was a great balance.

On arrival there was milk and wine in the fridge and some biscuits, which was a lovely touch. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you could need, the kitchen is well stocked to be able to prepare simple meals. The gas fire is a little tricky to start with but heats the whole cabin and it is very cosy. Sofa and bed were both incredibly comfortable. It is very clear that a lot of love goes in to getting the cabins ready and ours was absolutely spotless. Steven called us before we arrived to see if we wanted the hot tub pre heating so we were able to get in pretty much from arrival :) there is plenty of wood available to be able to use the hot tub every day. We visited with our dog, there is lots to do locally and most places we visited are dog friendly. There are some secured fields/wooded area next to the cabins that you are able to use for dog walking, which has a beautiful beck at the bottom. All three cabins had a dog staying while we were there, because of how the cabins are arranged we didn't see the other dogs or guests unless walking in the field. There is a very handy welcome file in the cabin which has lots of information in. The week we visited was valentines day (we had some cute cupcakes left by our door!) and my 40th Birthday and I honestly could not think of a better place to have celebrated! Thank you for a lovey stay and we will definitely be returning.

A great deal of thought has gone into these lodges.

Steve and his wife were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. But at the same time we were left alone to our own privacy. Exactly the right balance. The lodge was clean and well maintained. Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful about local places and getting the hot tub prepped for our arrival was a really nice touch. I would highly recommend these lodges to anyone who wants to get away from it all and have a really peaceful time with dough facilities nearby should you want them. Thank you.

We recently had a 2 night stay in the Otters Holt lodge.

Upon arrival, we were met by the owners who went through everything with us. The lodge had been set up with birthday banners and we were kindly left a few treats. This was an amazing gesture as my wife had no idea of where we were going. The lodge was beautiful - had everything mentioned and was very clean and tidy. The owners definitely take pride and this was very reflective of all the details of our stay. They were very kind, knowledgeable about the area and made some great recommendations about where to visit and to eat. The hot tub was great, was secluded from other lodges and very peaceful. The lodge is on a working farm and in a quiet location, it was perfect for a chill out few days. We used the opportunity to visit nearby low / high force, raby and barnard castle. We would definitely come back and recommend to others. A real gem!! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Had a lovely few days break at Otters Holt.

The cabin and facilities were just what we needed and the added bonus of the hot tub all ready for our arrival was brilliant! In a lovely location with plenty to do around and even with being on a working farm we never seen a soul and felt private and covered. Its difficult to find places that allow 2 dogs to come along but I would definitely recommend Otters Holt and their brilliant hosts and thankyou for making it a lovely stay.

Spent 3 nights at Otters Holt and it was absolutely amazing, the owners were excellent, they rang us the night before to ask what time we were expecting to arrive so the hot tub could be on and at the right temperature ready to start our mini break.

The little touches that were left like prosecco, tea and coffee and some biscuits were a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend anyone who just wants to just get away and relax this is the place, we will definitely be returning on our next short break.

We had a brilliant time staying at otters we chose this because its dog friendly and it does not dissapoint the field next to the cabin is massive and perfect for excersizing the dogs and the cabin is lovely very modern will definitely be booking again.

Owner was responsive and friendly whenever we needed anything or had questions. The cabin has everything you need for a short stay and the surroundings are perfect for walking and exploring. We'll be back again for sure.

WOW !

What a beautiful place. My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in this perfect lodge, extremely high standard of accommodation in a picture perfect setting. The owners were very welcoming and very attentive in ensuring we had a lovely stay, they went over and above anything I have experienced before by leaving little extras in the lodge on arrival such as biscuits and sweets for my daughter and lighting the hot tub for our arrival. I cannot recommend highly enough, just absolutely perfect and I would definitely stay again.

The holiday property exceeded our expectations with room for our dogs to have a good run; the property was very comfortable and very private to enjoy the hot tub and much appreciated the property owner having it all ready for us to use on arrival.

Lovely area with lots of interesting places nearby - Raby Castle, High Force and Low Force waterfalls and plenty more. We will definitely book again soon.

Felt very seculded and private which is not common. The location was beautiful plenty of walks for the dogs. Hot tub was amazing perfect relaxing getaway to unplug and reduce stress.

We had a warm welcome by friendly Steve on our arrival, we were shown around, the hot tub was ready for us to use too.

We were shown where we could take the dogs for walks during our stay, there were ewes & lamb in the fields next to our cottage which Steve made available very next day for us to walk the dogs freely. The Otters Halt was so peaceful, we enjoyed watching the birds, the village have a wonderful tearoom Which I would highly recommend. Have already recommended our families & friends the cottage and places we visited, the walks in Raby Castle, High Force Falls, Egglestone Nursery, Bernard Castle & the walks around, visited Seaham beach, Durham City the magnificent cathedral, and the lively Riverside walk not to forget the lovely picturesque drive through the North Penines. We were well looked after throughout our stay and whenever Steve met us also asked if everything was ok & if there was anything he could do for us . We will definitely make another trip in near future, well done and keep the good hospitality going

Just finished a fantastic week at Otters Holt.

The Cabin was spotless and Steve and Mary made us very welcome. There was a lovely welcome pack awaiting us and our Spaniel Newton had his own doggie Bag with Blanket,Towels and doggie bowls etc. The King size bed was lovely and there was a lovely log effect gas burner.The hot tub yes the hot tub was fantastic, and I have been suffering for a while with a fractured shoulder, what a relief to get into the log heated hot tub with our complimentary bubbly. The farmland was great for walking Newton especially by the river. Our only regret is we did not see the Kingfishers and the Barn owl but my husband has promised a return journey to remedy my bird watching. Thanks again for a lovely holiday

Me and my partner came here for a relaxing break and we couldn’t have been any happier with our experience!

! The owner went above and beyond and even rang to ask if we wanted our hot tub putting on before we arrived! He was extremely helpful but also left you to completely do your own thing! It is the most beautiful area with lots of nice walks and a beautiful outlook. The lodge itself was spacious, cozy and clean! We definitely will be returning it was amazing. Thank you!

Just spent a wonderful weekend in the fabulous Otters Holt.

The cabin was immaculate on our arrival and the site owner greeted us warmly, with a ready hot tub, and an introduction to our home for a few days. The cabin itself was delightful, with those extra touches that make all the difference, it’s clear that the owners have both impeccable taste, and fantastic attention to detail. Relaxing in the hot tub after a long day walking in the beautiful local countryside, was just so peaceful. All 3 cabins at the site have been so well thought out, they are secluded, private and set in a stunning location, with everything you need. There’s no oven, but there is a hob and a microwave. We thoroughly recommend a visit to Barnard Castle, very quaint with some lovely cafes. Aside from the Castle itself, we followed the Teesdale path to the Abby, a lovely 3 mile meander alongside the river Tees. We also visit High Force and Low Force waterfalls: We opted for a long walk from Middleton in Teesdale, but you can also dive to Bowlees and take a much shorter route. The cafe in Bowlees had some scrumptious cakes and sausage rolls. All in all we had an amazing time and feel thoroughly refreshed after our visit. We will definitely be back. Thank you to our fabulous hosts for creating such a special place.

Beautiful cabin!

Perfect setting, very peaceful and quiet. Owner was amazing, there to welcome us in and heated up the hot tub for our arrival. Will be revisiting again very soon!

Place is exactly as you can see in the photos. We enjoyed our stay. Place is quiet and relaxing. Hot tub was amazing. Facilities were great. Kitchen well equipped. Pot and pans provided. As well as plates and other basic things needed to cook your own meals. Cabin is well insulated. We did not feel the cold at all. Wifi has good reception. There is a television as well if you want to watch. Definitely recommend.

I could not recommend them enough our stay was absolutely wonderful from start to finish, such a a cozy little cabin with everything you need and done to a high standard.

They were so helpful and accommodating especially with our dog who can be reactive to other dogs. The privacy from the other cabins was spot on. Oh and the Hot Tub is just a 'Yes', i don't think I could go away without one now. So much to see locally and they gave us tips on walks and where to eat. We are looking to book again at the end of the year. Absolutely loved it. Thank you Abby, Pete & Pig

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Otters Holt - after a few stressful weeks at work it was very much needed!

Everything was perfect - the lodge was just as beautiful as the pictures, the farm surrounding the lodge was idyllic, Steven was very helpful and friendly and even provided some biscuits/Prosecco and a goody bag for our four legged baby. The lodge had a very helpful information book of local walks and pubs/takeaway pizza. We had a lovely few days out at High Force waterfall and Raby Castle. I couldn’t recommend this lodge enough. Thank you for hosting us.

Beautiful Cabin on a working farm, close enough to amenities and days out but secluded enough to think you are miles away from anyone.

Steve and his wife were very welcoming and always on hand if we needed anything and was kind enough to get our hot tub up to temperature while we went out for a couple of hours. Amazing place if you just want to get away from it all and relax for a few days. Dogs enjoyed it as well. We will definitely be back :)

Had a lovely week at the lodge the hosts were great Steven gave lots of information about wildlife and local walks it’s a wonderful place to unwind and look at the stars at night from the hot tub .

My daughter and I had a lovely short break at Otters Holt.

Steven and Mary are very helpful, welcoming and friendly hosts. Steven was kind enough to let my daughter visit the lambs that had been born that morning (she was over the moon), quickly returned an item we had left there and also, bought us a drink at the Brownlow Arms. Above and beyond service! The lodge is in a good location with countryside view. It, and surrounding space, are very well designed. The lodge is very well insulated (ideal for winter breaks), has everything you need (kitchen area is fully equipped, WIFI, Smart TV, lots of sockets) and is very comfortable. The deck area is nice and the wood fired tub is a fab extra. It's an excellent base to visit the area. Bowes museum is well worth a visit.

Otters Holt was absolutely perfect for our weekend away.

The property was beyond expectation, as it has only been open a few months everything is brand new. Really great levels of comfort are provided and there is good attention to detail in what has been achieved here. As it was February we anticipated the cabin might be on the chilly side; fortunately the gas fire and central heating system kept us really warm and toasty. Hot Tub was super and the outside space has been created to feel really private; there are 2 other cabins on the same plot but you have the perception of total seclusion. The star visibility on an evening was like nothing we have ever experienced and added a different dimension. Hospitality from the owner was fantastic! Some treats has been left for us which was kind and unexpected, and Steven even took some time out of his day to give us a tour of his farm and meet the new baby lambs. We took our little dog with us for the weekend and he was provided a literal doggy bag with everything needed; he loved the open space and walks available in the local area. Location wise the cabin is perfectly positioned for Raby Castle & Deer Park (which we visited twice), Barnard Castle & High Force Water Fall. We generally don’t leave reviews but on this occasion the property and experience was to such a level that we had to.... all in all a proper gem and we will revisit as soon as we the chance.

Really enjoyed out break away at Otters Holt.

Lodge cabin was immaculately clean on arrival, Also had milk, cookies and hot chocolate. Also some prosseco. Hot tub had been lit before we arrived which was great. Some nice walks by river and some interesting local wildlife. We were even given chocolates on Valentine's day!

Just returned home from a 4 night chill out break in Otters Holt and wasn't disappointed Otter holt is a warm ,cosy , well equipped lodge with a fantastic hot tub The owners were very welcoming and helpful but just left you alone to chill but they would have been there if you needed anything no doubt This is defiantly another lodge to add to our must return list and the only problem we had was the time went to fast

The cabin was lovely and warm when we arrived and the hot tub had been set going so it was ready for our arrival. Little finishing touches to welcome us were amazing, there was milk, 2 mini bottles of prosecco and some lovely cookies. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable short break. The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful and was a joy to wake up to in the morning! We didn't want to come home. Thank you for the warm welcome and for making our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be coming back.

Relaxed atmosphere.Everthing in the property including the Property was High Spec . The Owner was so friendly and was very knowledgeable about the area giving information that might inhance the holiday during our stay

We had a fantastic time at Otters Holt! The cabin and farm were beautiful! Everything had been thought of and the cabin facilities were brilliant. The hosts were great and couldn’t do enough to welcome us. The local area offered lots of nice scenic walks and wildlife. We had a wonderful long weekend and hope to book again soon.
