Description

Foxglove is a wonderful one-bedroom barn conversion perched in the tranquil village of Goathland in North Yorkshire.

Enjoying a superb rural location within the North York Moors National Park with stunning views across the valley, Foxglove is an ideal retreat for couples looking to embark on their next adventure in North Yorkshire.

Park up outside of the property where you may be greeted by the resident lambs and chickens before making your way towards your new home-from-home.

Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to relaxing on the plush sofa in front of the large Smart TV as you warm your toes near the woodburning stove.

When dinner calls, head to the well-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up a tasty meal ready to enjoy at the intimate dining table for two over a bottle of fizz.

Retreat inside to catch your rest in the sumptuous double bedroom with en-suite shower room.

Wake up tired eyes with a refreshing rinse in the shower, before savouring a steaming cup of coffee out on the rear patio, where you can watch the sun rise or the steam trains chugging past.

Explore your local surroundings, where you will find the welcoming Birch Hall Inn nearby, offering traditional pub lunches and local ales.

It is the perfect excuse for taking a night off from the kitchen.

After a hearty lunch, why not enjoy a romantic walk along the Eller Beck, where you will find the picturesque Beck Hole Waterfall?

In the village centre, you will find three more welcoming pubs, as well as two well-stocked convenience stores.

Harry Potter fans will want to pay a visit to the Goathland Station, which became famous after it appeared as Hogsmeade Station in the first film.

Here, you can hop aboard a vintage steam train and venture further into the expansive North York Moors.

If you’re looking to explore on foot, the Rail Trail is a must, leading from Goathland to Grosmont along an old railway line for three and a half miles.

For a taste of the coast, head to Whitby, where you can spend a day on the glorious sands, exploring the Gothic Whitby Abbey, fishing on the West Pier, learning to surf, or climbing the 199 steps for incredible views at their top.

For a getaway to North Yorkshire like no other, choose Foxglove.

Stayed four nights in late August.

Property was comfortable and well cared for. Ideally situated for access to many local attractions, whilst still retaining a nice secluded feeling. Access is down a rough farm track, but easily negotiated if you just take your time. The local wildlife will likely prove more of an obstruction than the road. Hosts were friendly and attentive to our needs throughout. The two dogs Oscar and Casper were a particular highlight. Always on the lookout for the next opportunity for a game of catch. Oscar was a regular visitor at the back door most mornings. Special mention also for the hot tub. Well maintained and with expansive views across the valley. Easy to spend too long in there. If active days followed by cosy evenings are your thing then this place will sit very well with you.

The host, Denise was very warm and welcoming and asked if we needed anything, which we didn't as the accommodation had all that we expected.

The accommodation was to a high quality finish, with all the facilities you would need to self cater. The place is very relaxing with stunning views which can be admired from the windows, garden and hot tub and great access to country walks. The courtyard offered plenty of parking too. Denise was very helpful about local knowledge and places to visit. Would highly recommend and likely to revisit.
