This lovely mid-terrace property is situated in a contemporary holiday development, The Bay, three miles from the traditional seaside town of Filey.
With excellent on-site facilities, it provides a wonderful base for an enjoyable family holiday, with easy access to the beach and many nearby attractions.
There is a spacious L-shaped open plan living area, with comfortable seating and a weloming woodburning stove to toast your toes on cooler evenings.
The well-equipped kitchen has a dining area to one end and French doors opening onto a small rear patio, whilst upstairs are two light and airy bedrooms, the twin having zip/link beds, which can be a sumptuous super king-size double on request.
With quality Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets, guests are assured of a good nights sleep.
This bright and cheerful property, is just a short walk from the holiday village pub, café and pharmacist and is surrounded by extensive communal grounds, with picnic areas and two lakes.
There is a host of outdoor activities to partake in, including fishing, tennis and bike hire.
Guests are able to book scuba diving, archery and fencing lessons, whilst the indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room is sure to be a big hit with everyone.
A pleasant walk brings you to a long, sandy and safe beach, ideal for building sand castles, paddling and relaxing in the summer sunshine.
The quaint seaside resort of Filey has fine promenades, lovely ornamental gardens and a good variety of cafes, restaurants and shops.
Why not explore Filey Brigg with its rock pools, or take an invigorating clifftop walk with panoramic views along the coastline?
Nearby Bempton RSPB reserve is well worth a visit - especially in the summer months, to see the puffins, kittiwakes and gannets, whilst culture lovers will enjoy the surrounding stately homes, such as Sledmere House, Sewerby Hall and Burton Agnes Hall.
Along with the beautiful rolling countryside of the nearby Yorkshire Wolds to explore, Lantern House offers something for everybody.

Perfect two bedroom property close to Filey beach.
Very well maintained and equipped. The property not only had a fridge/freezer but also an additional fridge. That would be very handy for stays longer than the two days we stayed. Also located near the pub, shop and pizza house.

Lovely property, great location with just a short walk and you are directly on the beach.
Property has plenty of space with everything you need, clean and tidy. Nice touch having some of the streaming channels available to watch without having to log in. Comfortable chairs and a table to sit outside on Nice location, able to walk to Filey in an hour along the beach, and a short drive to other resorts. Site was clean and tidy Would highly recommend and would return to the same property and site.

Lantern house is a really lovely property, well decorated and spotless, there was everything you need for your holiday The location is good not too far to get to the amenities also not too far from Filey.

A great stay with the family.
The house had everything we needed to make us comfortable, great beaches near by and a swimming pool on hand for those rainy days. Gave us a really comfortable and happy stay.

Thanks for your 100% feedback . Thank you for your comment on the heating.It’s difficult to balance as some people like the house really warm and some cooler. We are always happy to adjust the pre set temp for when it comes on in the morning if people want it changing, / we are always happy for guests to reach out on our contact number we share. Hopefully you managed to adjust the temperature as needed during the day with the NEST control in the hall . Thank you for staying at Lantern House and taking the time to share your feedback

Fantastic holiday home, everything almost perfect, great having the Christmas decorations up, all furniture and beds were very comfortable.
Great kitchen for cooking, lovely bathroom, property was really cosy and warm. Bay Area was well maintained, great access to beach via a small walk. The only negatives were, the duvet didn’t fit the cover, also was too small for the king size bed, and some small dogs hairs were around the downstairs areas, probably the cleaning company needs more attention to detail. We will hopefully be back

Cottage is really nice and well placed for the surrounding area.
It has also been renovated compared to other cottages on the site and would definitely recommend. Welcome pack was a nice touch.

It was clean, warm and very comfortable, it is very well equipped to a high standard. We would happily return.

The Bay is a lovely place to stay.
Lovely maintained surroundings. Peaceful and relaxing. Lantern house is a beautiful house with everything you could need for your holiday. Very comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay. Our 10 year old granddaughter has already said that she wants to return to Lantern House next year.

Just recently returned from a lovely few days staying at Lantern House.
I can highly recommend this property which has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Well equipped kitchen,smart TV with Netflix and amazon prime,fabulous shower and super comfy beds. The property is in a superb location for exploring the beautiful north yorkshire coastline. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture we enjoyed bottles of beer ,chocolate an biscuits. There was even a leisure pass so you can use the facilities including swimming pool. There is even an online information pack available for the property explaining how everything works,heating etc and info about the local area. Really lovely property there are lots of lovely pictures of the area on the walls going up the stairs and also lovely quotes such as "if you can be anything be kind which made me smile." We’ve stayed at The Bay three times and have found this to be the best equipped house so far.
The welcome pack was thoughtfully supplied with treats for humans and dogs as well as handy kitchen supplies. Everything was spotlessly clean and the rooms were comfortable and inviting. We will certainly have Lantern House at the top of our list if we decide to return to The Bay.

Lantern cottage is a great holiday home at The Bay, Filey.
We’ve stayed in a few houses on The Bay complex and this one is the best we’ve stayed at. Very comfortable, everything you need in the cottage. Good position with parking behind, not far to the gym, pub, swimming pool and shop. And 10 mins walk to the lovely dog friendly beach, we walked along that into Filey every day. The treat basket left for us in the house was nice. And I accidentally left a cardigan there and the owner kindly posted it to me, going above and beyond, which was a lovely thing to do and greatly appreciated. Overall a fab place to stay and lots to go visit around the area.

I had a lovely week at lantern cottage.
The house is beautiful and has lots of lovely personal touches to make your stay home from home. The owner messaged to check everything was ok when I arrived and also part way through the week. The site is beautifully kept and spotlessly clean, the beach is a lovely walk about 10mins away down a path that is quite steep in places, I’m not the fittest person by any means but I walked down there with my dog every day. The only tiny drawback I found was the lack of a secure garden so I had to be up and dressed to take the dog out early in the morning but I was aware of this before I went, just something to bear in mind when booking. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and enjoy this beautiful part of the world

We've stayed in The Bay twice before, it's a great location for accessing the beach, which is really beautiful, and for visiting surrounding areas.
We found Lantern House particularly comfortable as a couple. It's a lovely property, which has been attractively set up and is being well looked after. We would happily stay here again.

Nice house, well equipped and clean.
suite ok but not the most comfortable for me with permanent back ache . Welcome pack was very welcome. The site facilities were ok , swimming pool has a minimum depth of 1.4 mtrs which was just too deep for my 7 yr old. Tennis was good (£5) per hour for the tennis court. Archery at £15 per person was ridiculously priced . It was going to be £60 for the four of us to fire a few arrows

Very clean and comfortable accommodation with everything and more that we needed, including a generous welcome pack…Very impressive.
Also enjoyed the free use of the facilities- swimming pool/sauna/gym. (Only downside of the site is the silly prices charged at the pub!

Beautiful house, in a perfect location.
The house it self was the best holiday home we have stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot) it was very clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The welcome basket was extremely thoughtful and had something for everyone. We will definitely be booking again. Cottage perfect with everything u need , lovely welcome box with dog treat and prosecco , slight issue with boiler and heating but sorted quickly, owner kept in contact to check all was OK, perfect break even with the rain

We have stayed in a number of properties at the Bay and whilst they are all of a high standard, Lantern House is just that bit better than the rest.
The owner (Rachel) has gone to a lot of trouble to m make the property a home from home and she has succeeded and then some. Highly recommended

We all enjoyed every minute there. The property was exceptional, everything you could need, clean, well furnished and equipped. Ideally situated for exploring the beach and meadows and further afield. Sam my dog loved it.

A lovely comfy house with every need catered for.
We enjoyed every minute and will return. Our mini dachshund Bertie loved it too but was a big step down from the back doors for him and us to be honest( we're both 70+).

Once we are unloaded we use the front door quite a lot which is nice and flat. Glad Bertie enjoyed their stay, we have sausage dogs and they love it at The Bay!

A real home from home. Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses, pans, bakeware etc. which it made it very easy to self cater. We would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed at Lantern House early March 2023 and we absolutely loved it.
Ticked all the boxes for us. The owner contacted us to make sure we had everything we needed at the start of our holiday, great customer service, even when we lost the keys on our dog walk(oops). The place was clean and tidy.There was a little welcome pack from the owner with some chocolate, wine and dog treats which was a nice personal touch. We had a lovely time here and will definitely recommend and stay again.

We received a lovely/ generous welcome gift on arrival, and a welcome text from the owner Rachel to inform us of the central heating settings to ensure we were comfortable.
The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. Very modern and spacious in a great location. Lovely big modern tv with Netflix, we will definitely book this cottage again . (Donna and Ian, stayed 30 January 2023 for 5 nights).

We’ve stayed in a few properties at the bay Filey but lantern house was by far the best so far, warm and cosy, such a beautiful cottage and well situated, with everything you could wish for, the log burner was lovely during the very cold snap we experienced.
Please keep the bath, it was lovely to relax in and was greatly missed in the last property we stayed in ( I do realise it’s not easy for older people to get in/out of ) but it was really appreciated by both of us ! The welcome basket is a lovely touch and cheers to you ( for the drink

The property was excellent.
Everything that we could possibly have wanted/needed was there. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and cosy. A real home from home. (One thing we needed that wasn't there - a rubber mat to stand on in the bath whilst we were showering. As we are in our 70s, we could so easily slip and fall. We bought one and brought it home with us). We loved the Bay village and would definitely go again.
Fantastic cottage,nicely decorated and modern.
Would stay again, pillows a bit hard but that’s because there were two in the pillowslip so easily rectified and hot water tap very hot so be careful, that’s the only things to point out as otherwise a great place to stay and not the owners fault x
