Ryedale Country Lodges - Willow Lodge

The lodge was immaculate in every way.

Very clean and had everything needed for a stay away from home. The views were spectacular and the lodge was quite cool despite the heatwave possibly due to the bank of trees at the back of the lodge. There was also respite under trees in the large front garden on the loungers provided. It was very private. Another nice touch was the welcome pack provided by the owners. Can thoroughly recommend this lodge to others lucky enough to book it.

Willow Lodge exceeded all our expectations.

The setting is beautiful- surrounded by trees with plenty of wildlife- we fell asleep to the hooting of the owls. The lodge itself is modern, spacious & very clean with a lovely outside space as well for al fresco dining. Everything is provided for home cooking but also plenty of local places to eat. It’s an easy stroll into Kirby & perfectly situated for visiting the North Yorkshire moors. Steve & Tracy were wonderful hosts - very friendly & helpful. We will definitely return & highly recommend.

The lodge is located in a lovely area.

It is a great place from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire coast as well as the county in general. It is very private and peaceful and you can watch the wildlife around you. The accommodation is very comfortable and has everything you need for a family break. I would highly recommend it for a stay in North Yorkshire.

The lodge has everything you need it has a lovely kitchen with a dishwasher which is well laid out,very peaceful if you want a quiet holiday, yet centrally placed if you want to visit the North York moors and surrounding areas.

The weather was not good but there are still plenty of places to go.The owners are very helpful this is our 2nd visit and would consider going back again.

Couple of minor points which others staying mentioned in house log eg need for more comfortable seating in lounge area but overall we loved the situation and area.

Just returned from a nice weekend away, location of the property is spot on for exploring the local area we particularly liked Helmsley .

Accommodation was spotless and cleaned to a high standard and our dog spent hours wildlife watching through the window.The only issue we really experienced was the same as the previous reviewer who stayed here, the sofa in the lodge needs replacing its very uncomfortable and moves about and isn't the easiest to get off and on to .One recommendation we'd make is some lighting on the drive up to lodges it really is pitch black but on the upside incredibly quiet.All in all a lovely break and we'd stay again.

The lodge was very clean and very well equipped.

The heating was easy to control and the lodge was very warm. The bathrooms were modern and roomy, water pressure in the showers was good. The location was excellent and it was lovely and quiet, the grass outside the lodge was great for the dogs. The outside areas were beautifully kept. However we found a few negatives:- The hot water was so hot to the point that I burnt my arm on the exposed hot pipe in the shower of the en suite. The matresses in the twin room were extremly uncomfortable being very lumpy and the springs could be felt when lying on them but the double mattress was comfortable as was the mattress in the single room. We found the seat cushions on the sofa lacked support to the point were it was very difficult to sit comfortably and to get up from the sofa. We had to use the cushions from the back of the sofa as additional seat cushions to make it work for us (both of us are fully able bodied). I think these are easy fixes and I do hope that the owners find our comments to be constructive.

Great lodges in a fantastic setting, meticulous kept gardens.. Ideal for visting the coast and the moors. Just cannot fault it in any way.

Willow Lodge is absolutely lovely.

It is spotlessly clean, warm and so well maintained by the owners. We loved the peaceful situation too and the easy walk into the town.

We booked this lodge for our extended family whilst we stayed in the other.

The lodge is very comfortable and well equipped. Kirkbymoorside is a great base to explore the surrounding areas.

Absolutely amazing so so beautiful and other people we met there at the other lodge were lovely.

Willow lodge was lovely everything you could ever need so peaceful and tranquil the wild life from rabbits squirrels deer and pheasant were lovely to watch I would highly recommend this lodge and hope to be back next year Jean Cox

This is a great lodge !

Our second visit and booked again for next year . The lodge is in a marvellous location , within walking distance to Kirkbymoorside but surrounded by wildlife with superb views. The coast is easily reached by car or public transport . The standard of cleanliness and attention to detail is second to none . Would definitely recommend for a peaceful break !

We absolutely loved everything about this lodge, it was spotlessly clean and everything was of a very high standard, nice little welcome pack too, only problem was that we couldn't stay longer

Beautiful area and so peaceful.

Nicely furnished and feels like home from home. There is a grassed area in front of the lodge where the dogs can play/chill and there are some scenic walks to enjoy with your dogs. Owners are welcoming/friendly. Wish we could've stayed longer. This lodge and area gets a 10/10 from us.

Another excellent week at Rydale Country Lodges.

Tracy and Steve are so welcoming, the lodges are spotless, very comfortable, very generous plots and the little welcome gifts such a lovely thought. The lodges are well positioned to be close to the North Yorkshire Moors, Pickering, Helmsley and plenty of other places and attractions. We love staying there and will certainly book again.

We had an amazing time,the lodge was outstanding also the welcome package was well received, I have never been to a lodge that was so immaculate like this.

I call this a posh summer house in a lovely garden with a wonderful outlook.

It is is in fact a lodge with all the bits and pieces that you could want with good fittings and finish. Good car parking with easy access, fully equipped kitchen, good TV, most important first class wifi and easy to link to. Phone can be a bit iffy but in reality I never had a problem. Easy to get into and all on the level and walk in showers! so easy to use and not over bath which is a no no for many, like me. This is an oasis of calm, listen to the silence and become sight and sound sensitive to the environment and all it contains so much can be observed. The lodge is ideally situated for access to the Moors & walking trails, Coast and Wolds, and other tourist attractions. Pickering for shopping close by and local pubs with good food menus. Would have liked a socket with USB ports (I take my own), found bath towel a bit small, prefer bath sheets but this is what I am used to, and a lighter weight quilt but weather is fickle and who knows and perhaps TV in main bedroom. Minor items just my own thinking. Good owner being close by, always available and also attentive to the landscape and its development. This a superb lodge, no hesitation to stay at again, it has a calming ambience to recharge the worn out batteries we all get from time to time.

What a fabulous place.

Although only 10 minutes walk into Kirkbymoorside the lodge was really peaceful. The lodge had everything we needed, was really clean, a lovely welcome pack and Steve and Tracy were a great help and we really enjoyed chatting to them. Will definitely return.

Comfortable and immaculately clean. Non-intrusive owners who left a lovely welcome pack for us. Close enough to be contacted if needed. Great outdoor space too. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

A lovely property in a stunning location.

Willow lodge was absolutely perfect and literally had everything you could ever need for a staycation.

There was a plethora of utensils, cleaning products and equipment. Bedding and towels were clean and fresh, the whole lodge was immaculate. Location was spot on for visiting local areas or for taking a local walk. Very peaceful place, surrounded by beautiful views. Pictures do not do this place justice, the space inside was alot larger than pictures showed. We had a great stay and will return in the near future.

It was clean, comfortable, warm, and in a delightful setting. It was a lovely base to return to after a day out exploring the area. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, and the ‘goodies’ were appreciated. We will definitely return and will highly recommend to friends and family.

The accomodation is ideal for a family group with the ability to reserve a cot and highchair very beneficial. The area is wonderful and with the gorgeous weather we had we got out and about a lot!

We spent 5 nights at Willow lodge and had a great time.

The lodge is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a home away from home. The lodge is set in pretty manicured grounds and we loved watching the wildlife each day. The owners were on hand if we needed anything and were very welcoming and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this property to anyone looking for a getaway and would definitely book again. We had a dog with us and it was secure for him to be outside and enjoyed walks around the countryside with him.

Beautiful setting & cottage, the owners are lovely people & made us feel very welcome. The kids & dog absolutely loved the open areas to explore, the cottage was very clean & well stocked. It’s just a great place to stay & explore Yorkshire, We will definitely be back.

Willow is spacious and warm.

It has everything you might need, including an outdoor area for drying, storing bikes etc. It is really well spaced from its neighbours, which was only one lodge but will soon be two, in a beautiful setting. We love it for a relaxed break in a picturesque area.

The location of the lodge was perfect ,very peaceful lovely view.

The Lodge was very well equipped with everything and more that we needed .Very comfortable beds ,didn't want to get out in a morning. Excellent location for visiting nearby places .Spotlessly clean and very homely with lovely furnishings, would highly recommend.

Me, my wife and our dog stayed for a lovely long weekend in ‘Willow Lodge’ (one of 2, soon to be 3 block built/wood clad lodges) in the fortnight leading up to Christmas, and it was perfect. The hosts have thought of everything for a perfect stay with lots of welcome extras (including a lovely Christmas tree) and spotless warm and very cozy accommodation. It is perfectly located on the edge of the Moors and in our short stay we visited Castle Howard, Malton, Helmsley, Hutton-Le-Hole, Whitby and York, but lots of other picturesque little market towns we’d still love to visit. Our dog loved the walk into the village and the countryside surrounding the lodge. We’ll have to make it a longer visit next time!

Absolutely fabulous lodge, a credit to the owners, everything inside of the highest standard, beautiful furniture and decor throughout all top quality, lodge was immaculate and the bathroom was amazing!

The extra touches, fresh flowers and the treats which were waiting for us were gratefully received, as we were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday. It’s the nicest lodge we have stayed in and will definitely be back, hopefully the weather will be more kind next time!. We would of wished for an earlier check in time, feel 5pm is a bit late especially as we had a 15 month old ready for her tea!! But this won’t stop us returning, A fantastic place

The presence of hares and deer behind Willow Cottage was a delight to the children.

Willow Lodge is a perfect holiday lodge, immaculately clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped.

The friendly welcome and welcome pack from the owners is much appreciated. The lodge is very well located for exploring all the North York Moors and Coast have to offer and our dogs also enjoyed many long walks in the area. A fab holiday, thanks!

Thoughtful touches such as Wine, Milk, Cake on arrival. Not so keen on a fabric sofa in a property that allows dogs.

This gorgeous lodge is a lovely place to stay, it is so cosy and quiet.

It had everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. Unfortunately we had to leave 1/2 way through our stay because of a family emergency. But I would recommend this stay to anyone.

Shops and pub not . The accommodation was clean and very comfortable, with quiet patio seating to sit and have breakfast or wind down in an evening. The owners are fantastic and there to help with anything if needed.

The Lodge was absolutely perfect, immaculately clean, the facilities and decor were more than we hoped for.

It is a perfect setting, peaceful and we had a perfect view of the beautiful area from the patio which was nicely furnished with a picnic table, umbrella & Loungers. The Lodge was within walking distance of the Village of Kirkbymoorside which has a number of pubs/restaurants. It is perfectly situated for venturing into the North York Moors or the Coast. Some of the surrounding villages are well worth driving too, especially Helmsley. Would highly recommend, and would definitely return. The dogs loved it too.

We enjoyed our stay at Willow Lodge.

As a family of 4 adults, with two lively dogs it was perfect for us. Walking distance to pubs and shops, which was handy as we wanted to leave the car some of the time. The grounds around the lodges were not completely enclosed, but safe enough for our dogs who like a run about under supervision. Fortunately the neighbours also had friendly dogs and didn't mind the odd 'visit'. The lodge itself was comfortable, with a small well-equipped kitched. We enjoyed doing a bit of cooking, so long as there was only one chef in the kitchen. The welcome pack was also very welcome! Overall, we had a great break and will definitely consider returning next year.

Had a fantastic stay in Willow Lodge.

In fact we booked both Lodges together for all our family. Owner Steve was around to greet us on arrival and was very helpful. The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable and there was a welcome pack waiting for us with cake, crisps, milk and a bottle of fizz, even fresh flowers in the window. A secluded gem with lots of wildlife and beautiful surroundings to relax in. A great base to explore the area with pubs and shops in Kirkbymoorside only a short walk away. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely lodge park beautiful landscape and lots of privacy, Tracey and Steve were very welcoming leaving a super welcome pack which was very much appreciated.

Excellent location for exploring Yorkshire. It was brilliant to be able to have our dog with us and the dogs need were also catered for.

Absolutely immaculate and a lovely surprise welcome gift of prosecco, cake and crisps . Perfect location only a ten minute walk to the village and plenty of bars, shops , cafes and takeaways if needed . Surrounding areas are also lovely plenty of great locations to visit. Myself, Mark and Molly our labradoodle had a wonderful week thank you !

Great views from our lodge surrounded by wildlife. Peaceful and quiet. Only 10 mins stroll into kirbymoorside centre. Dogs loved the freedom to roam around the lodge. 5 star Spotlessly clean, great accommodation, well equipped kitchen, beds really comfortable, good size of communal area.

Great hosts, friendly, great sense of humour, don’t make a drama out of a crisis. Helpful with advice on places to visit and recommendations on where to eat well, We followed advice and had some great meals. There is no washing machine or tumble drier but if you’re desperate ask. Can’t recommend highly enough, we loved the accommodation and the hosts. Thank you again Steve and Tracy , love to your gorgeous girl Betty. (Friendly staffy dog)

Newish cabin with all the mod cons. The double with en-suite and extra family shower room a great advantage for four adults. Great surrounding garden will be brilliant in summer too . We would love to return as it’s in an ideal place to walk the North York’s Moors. Everything you need. Would like a washer if stayed two weeks as we are outdoor types

The Lodge is set in expansive, bush filled lawned gardens with lots of space not only for our enjoyment but also that of our pet who roamed about very safely.

We did, of course act responsibly by cleaning up after her but the freedom was very important for her. The Lodge itself is superbly laid out and decorated to a very high standard and en-suite facilities are high class. We could not fault the Lodge and the owner(Steve) made us very welcome. We enjoyed meeting the friendly and helpful owners. We enjoyed local walks, drives on the Moors, the beautiful villages and the local produce- Yorkshire Curd tarts were yummy! We would definitely recommend this property & hope to return.

We've stayed in many lodges and cottages in the past few years but none come even close to Willow Lodge in Kirkbymoorside!

Comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in such a peaceful setting too, and the grounds are completely fenced in so it was great for our GSP Otis, he could wander round without us worrying. Steve and Tracy made us feel extremely welcome and we had many a long chat when they came by and Otis made great friends with Betty, their gorgeous Staffie! If anyone is looking to visit this part of Yorkshire then this property is where you need to stay, you won't find anything better for sure! Martin and Sharon Dobson with Otis

One of the best places in which we have stayed.

Designed, fitted out and equipped to a very high standard. Quiet and peaceful, central for touring. Owners friendly but not intrusive. Highly recommended. PS need to take a hairdryer!

The lodge was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.

Comfy beds, fabulous bathrooms and quality kitchen equipment. Willow lodge was situated in a quiet location and was surrounded by a large wooded area with plenty of room for the dog to roam safely. The lovely sunny patio was the perfect place to relax in the evenings , an extra couple of sun loungers would be a welcome addition. We will definitely return and perhaps book both lodges for the same week next time.

Perfect lodge in a perfect location spoke to the friendly owners Steve and Tracy several times in passing lots of local walks ie Hutton le hole and kirbymoorside, also visited Whitby, Dalby Forrest and goathland the lodge is situated in quiet woodland with fields all around our dog dodger loved it.

Rabbits,squirrels,hares,pheasant and partridge in abundance Would definately have this property on the top of my list and will be paying Steve and Tracy another visit

A spotlessly clean and very well presented holiday lodge in a perfect position for exploring North Yorkshire.

We were particularly impressed with the two shower rooms with the best showers we have ever had in a holiday property. The provision of a good internet connection was very much appreciated due to some rainy weather. The kitchen was well equipped and there was even a thoughtful welcome pack including wine and cake. We had a lovely stay and would recommend Willow Lodge to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We thought the lodge perfect: spacious yet cosy, everything we needed - and more.

We didn't use the bike/barbecue store but what a bonus if needed, also the undercover drying space. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

the location was ideal right near the shops and pubs but far enough away not to hear a peep - even from the road. we were left a lovely welcome package too which was a nice touch.

Willow Lodge was well equipped with everything we needed, plus more. Th e lodge was very clean. The beds and seating areas were very comfortable. The surroundings were fascinating to watch. We saw rabbits, deer and pheasants. We also heard an owl in the nearby trees. We hope to revisit in a few years time.

We had a short let but enjoyed our holiday, despite the awful weather.the cottage is in a beautiful location with deer in the woods behind, and plenty of space to exercise our dogs. The standard of finish in the cottage was excellent,the beds very comfortable and we appreciated the added touches of cleaning materials, and welcome pack. We would defiantly stay again, but if it was to be a longer stay, a washer/ dryer rather than a dish washer would be more practical.

The lodge was beyond our expectations extremely well equipped and well presented.

What a fantastic place, the property was immaculate inside and out, warm and comfortable and set in secluded woods.

One benefit for us was the dogs were allowed all over the extensive grounds which is fenced all the way round. Kirkbymoorside is in a great position to explore the North York Moors. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and would definitely consider coming back.

Willow Lodge was a comfortable base, ideally suited for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors.

It very pleasant to be greeted by a welcome bottle of prosecco, lemon drizzle cake and crisps. Thank you for this thoughtful touch.

Very comfortable and excellent facilities

Cabin was beautiful.

Spotlessly clean had all that was necessary for a relaxed break and a lovely private setting. We laughed and played cricket with no one around to bother. The dog happily chased her ball and watched the rabbits. Some great walks from the cabin and near enough to pubs shops and cafes to allow the car to rest too.
