Description

The Sequoia is a well-equipped ground floor lodge resting in the sleepy village of Cloughton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Appealing to a small family or couple, this welcoming lodge offers a delightful base for those wishing to explore the wonderful North-East coastline, with the vibrant town of Scarborough just 4 miles away.

The tastefully furnished open-plan living room is uplifted by natural light, providing a pleasant space for everyone to gather to discuss the day’s events or settle down with a good movie.

The kitchen is well-appointed with numerous integrated appliances, allowing the chef among the group to easily prepare home-cooked meals which can be enjoyed around the dining table.

Walk on through to discover the bedrooms, including a king-size double and a twin, served by the bathroom with Jack-and-Jill access.

Accessed by the French doors from the living room, the decked veranda is a delightful spot to enjoy your morning cuppa, providing wonderful country and coastal views over the surrounding fields.

To the side of this lovely lodge is an astro-turfed section with further seating, along with an enclosed corner with private hot tub – a most welcome addition!

The village of Cloughton has two pubs, the Blacksmiths Arms and the Red Lion, which both serve food.

Keen walkers will enjoy traversing the 23 mile Cinder Track and the clifftop Cleveland Way trail which are both within easy reach of the cottage.

The seaside town of Scarborough is just four miles away and has plenty to offer, with its sandy beaches, castle ruins, pretty gardens and seafront cafes and restaurants.

With the wonderful North East Coast on your doorstep, The Sequoia has everything needed for a desirable holiday.

Positives:The area is lovely and a lovely surprise to be greeted by two horses.

The garden area is nice. The owner was polite and made a effort to chat Negatives: the hot tub area needs work. Not great you have to pay extra for the hot tub . The lodge is ok but needs work the bathroom floor is about to go through, black mould around bath, stains on the bedding and ants in the bed And all needed a good clean as loads of cobwebs and dust on carpet edges

We absolutely loved this accomodation.

The garden area which is private, was very welcome in the lovely weather and also the hot tub which was also very private. The caravan is very spacious, beautiful decor and very comfortable. It is in a very peaceful location with lovely scenery and a Country Inn just across the road with excellent food. The owners of the property Alison and Martin were excellent, very helpful and came straight away if needed but also didn't impose when not needed. The stables with 2 ponies next to the garden gave us an added interest. Thank-you Alison and Martin.

The accommodation and surrounding area were a little tired, Areas within the accommodation require attention -spongey floor to bathroom potential water leak issue ?

Smells of dampness, needs checking before someone goes through it A more thorough clean to accommodation would have helped, fridge, cooker, mirror to lounge Externally - walls and fencing, decking, would benefit from a lick of paint as a minimum and generally tidying up to the plot On the positives it’s located in a lovely quiet area Hot tub was lovely and warm clean but surroundings a little shabby to say the least I keep telling myself that I’m not going to book anymore breaks away in England as I’m always ‘disappointed’ and there never up to my expectations - overall it was OK - it was a much needed break for us Craig n Linda
