Lovely comfortable cabin, in perfect quiet setting, no surrounding noise, so peaceful, well equipped cosy and inviting, perfect friendly host, made sure we had everything we needed, would highly recommend, and will return

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay in Hawthorne Lodge.

The lodge is in a very relaxing location with a lovely view from the balcony. It was very clean and generally had everything we needed. We had a large dog (who thoroughly enjoyed it too), who unfortunately was shedding hair, and a vacuum cleaner, perhaps could be stored near the standard lamp, would have been appreciated so we could keep the floors clean. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Amazing lodge - one of the cleanest and tidiest places we've ever stayed in.

We spent 7 nights here with our two children and had a fantastic, relaxing break. The lodge is in a wonderfully quiet location between Liverton and Loftus, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There's also an amazing beach just 2 miles away, only a 5-minute drive from the lodge. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They checked in with us a few times during our stay to make sure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything, which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely return in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lodge to others!

Overall a nice lodge and well situated in a great location near to both coast and countryside with plenty of interesting places to visit .

Would be happy to book again .

Had a lovely stay here over new year, the cabin was clean and cozy, had a lovely time exploring the area, would definitely book again.

A very relaxing holiday Lovely area to explore.

We had good weather so was pleased for the lovely veranda sitting out area this could be improved by having a gate across rather than a piece of wire fence to make it more secure for dogs. The double bed was very comfortable.

We had a lovely stay here for a week.

Hawthorn is a lovely lodge, with a homely feel, which is exactly what we were looking for. The small site is beautiful, amazing views, peaceful, and our blind collie loved the enclosed field. The only thing I would recommend would be for a bigger fridge freezer, it didn't hold very much at all. Other than that, we loved our stay

We were pleasantly surprised and really impressed with Hawthorn Lodge; clean, well stocked, great use of space, good quality and tasteful soft furnishings AND really comfy mattresses.

The location of the lodge is outstanding with so many things to do nearby. We were spoilt for choice with places to see and things to do so we will return. Enormous thanks to Steve and Christine.

Very clean and cosy., lovely place to relax and chill out. Good for parking next to the lodge. Would highly recommend to stay and would love to go back. Had a very enjoyable week weather very good.

We enjoyed staying here, and it was a good base from which to explore this part of Yorkshire.

We have been here a lot of time and we are looking forward in going again.

This is are first time staying in this holiday cabin, but we are very happy with the stay we had.

We did leave a note in the visitors book - no welcome pack which is unusual for a Sykes Cottage, even if it is basics, milk, tea bags, etc.

Also no information pack on appliances within the accommodation. Other than that our stay was lovely, despite the weather

The property was warm and welcoming, everything we needed was there, being situated where it is views of the sea and surroundings.

Convenient for visiting the area , with some nice places to eat out. As for the owner and Christine nothing was too much trouble. Will return. Kevin

Wonderful cosy , home from home log cabin, which didn't feel like a "holiday home with the bare minimum of stuff in it" This cabin has everything you will need and is very warm and comfy with Wide open views .

Very enjoyable break despite not brilliant weather.

Good location for visiting all the surrounding coastal resorts. Stayed here with our 2 grand daughters & they thoroughly enjoyed it too. Comfortable bed & well equipped property

This an ideal location for peace and quiet, or touring to Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay etc.

Skinningrove is perfect with the pub about two miles along the road. Thoroughly enjoyed and could have stayed longer than two weeks.

Thoroughly enjoyed it,very comfortable and spotless,beautiful surroundings and close to many coastal beaches,would highly recommend this cottage.

We had a great holiday and the lodge was lovely.

Very clean and a whole range of cooking implements, towels, bedding etc. Little fridge freezer was brilliant. Made to feel so homely and cosy. Pictures and accessories around the lodge were well thought out and went with the whole feel of the lodge. We had never stayed in a lodge before but it won’t be our last time that’s for sure. The feel of the place was so nice. There was everything provided to make your stay perfect and it was just that . The site manager Christine was so helpful and friendly .Thank you.

We had a lovely week at hawthorn lodge, perfect autumn weather, we only had one day of rain out of seven but the lodge was so comfortable it didn’t matter.

There is everything that you need in there. The only thing I would say is you need a car if you want to travel. The lodge is set in lovely surroundings , there is even a sea view. It’s our second time there .

The overall was nice but the single beds let it down as the springs were protruding through so we had to buy bed fleece to lay on the bathroom door was warped so unable to close it the view was nice a little bit of tweaking would make it a lot better it would be very helpful for a bar to be fitted on the bathroom wall to help you get in and out of the shower all in all we enjoyed our stay and the site

Had a enjoyable stay

I was staying for work so didn't see the place in daylight until last day when I was packing up.

Lovely comfortable bed. Heating was ok but radiator in main bedroom covered by door when it is open. Electric fire/heater in living room was needed due to cold weather. Takes a short while to warm the place up. Hot water is very hot! Could do with a temperature regulator. Bin store could do with a light. Cosy little place which suited me well.

Fantastic lodge, very cosy and the beds were so comfortable.

This is a great base to explore from - Staithes 10 min and Saltburn 10 mins. Huge Asda 10 min away to stock up. Lodge was well equipped, including kids plates etc. The children loved the games cupboard. We had a great break and will be recommending and hope to return once we no longer need to push pushchairs or carry children up steep hills haha!

Just what we needed for our long awaited delayed honeymoonThe accommodation was perfect, clean comfortable and with everything we needed for our stay.

The views perfect. Location peaceful and within a car drive of local beaches and giving us plenty to do. We never managed to fit all in. A return trip is planned. Christine and Ste are great host and are very accommodating. Very knowledgable about the area. Definitely highly recommend and will be returning.

The majority of aspects of our stay were wonderful.

The sea view was a bonus, the field at the side for our dog to play and chase his ball, bonus, the peace and quiet bonus, and the thoughtful gate guard on the decking to keep the dog in bonus. All of which were appreciated. However, the double bed did not have a proper mattress I was stunned to find it was just a deep piece of foam!!! It was so uncomfortable my partner tried to slept on the 2 seater sofa and he's 6'2" Not ideal. I tried to sleep in the other twin room but it was like sleeping on a moving jelly. So the twin room mattress' were very uncomfortable too. Not what you want on holiday, when trying to relax and enjoy our first ever trip to Yorkshire, and decided to return home 3 days earlier than planned. :( :( Also as a family of 3 the fridge was way too small, there was room for a normal size fridge. However, on saying this, if these things were changed we would consider returning and hiring the lodge again.

Lovely rural, quiet, small lodges set in well maintained grounds.

Lodge was very clean with full ammentites for cooking or pub just up the road. Small beach nearby and also good base for exploring walks, Saltburn ,Robin Hoods Bay etc.

because of lockdown circ's the people there were very good and we were left alone.

Hawthorne is a beautiful log cabin with every aminety situated in a fabulous quite location ideal for dog walkers .

Lodge was spotless everything you needed.

Very peaceful great location for touring surrounding areas. The only problem was the WiFi it was ok on the mobile phone but my iPAd I had to keep logging in every time I had to use it but it didnt spoil my stay. Plenty to do

Very nice area, the site was very quite, my only problem, not having internet on my phone I rely on my I pad and although advert says WiFi it was non existent.

Otherwise a enjoyable week.

The cabin comes in at No 1 in are cottages and cabins list of holidays places to visit it was the best location very quite and the view was great will try and visit again in the future

We were very pleased with the lodge,it was spacious and clean the cupboard space was very good too.

We had a really fantastic time !

The accommodation was cosy, spotless and very relaxing. Centrally located for lots of outings. A fantastic beach a short car journey away. Lovely fish and chip shop nearby. Beautiful walks. There are plenty of information leaflets of things to do with the kids or for adults in the accommodation. Our 6-year-old granddaughter did not want to leave! . Would definitely stay at Hawthotrth Cottage again. The Rhodes Family

The situation of the lodge.

Beautiful scenery. The cleanliness and facilities the lodge had to offer. The friendliness of the owner and the willingness to sort out the door lock when we had problems with this. We will definitely be back here to stay. The layout of the small site was excellent and the fact you had privacy . It was beautifully laid out and very tidy. It was quiet and peaceful. The area is well equipped for visiting the likes of Beamish, middlesoborough, Redcar and Saltburn, all of which were excellent. We also visited the North York Moors Railway and Whitby, which was about 30 minutes or less to travel. Excellent views from the accommodation. Couldn't find fault with anything. Many thanks to the owner, see you again soon we hope.

We were very pleased that we booked this lodge, it was spotlessly clean, well equipped & very comfortable.

The owner was helpful & welcoming. Mobility issues meant it was too far for us to walk to Loftus, but we were able to drive there in order to park up & catch the bus to the coast, we enjoyed the moors too, but by car. We'd not stayed in this area previously but we will be back. We also liked being able to see the sea in the distance on better days. We were both glad we picked this lodge.

Lovely trip away for me and my family - close to a number of great locations in Sth Yorkshire.

Owner said we could stay a few more days as know one was booked in, unfortunately we had plans back home!
