    Lovely peaceful lodge, very cosy and clean, the lodge has everything you need for a stress free break, only a few minutes drive from the beautiful Skinningrove beach and local amenities, I would recommend a stay here if you want somewhere quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby seaside towns

Sycamore Lodge is a charming timber retreat set on a small site at the edge of Liverton village, within the North York Moors National Park.

Enjoying an elevated position, it offers sweeping views across open countryside and is ideally located for exploring the nearby Heritage Coast and the surrounding moorland.

The open-plan living space is traditionally styled, with a compact modern kitchen and a comfortable sitting area featuring a log-effect electric fire.

French doors lead out to a decked veranda—perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while taking in the stunning scenery.

With two inviting bedrooms and a shared bathroom, the lodge is well suited to families.

Outside, communal lawned areas provide ample space for children to play.

The local area is a haven for walkers, with a network of footpaths and trails to discover.

The historic fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay are just a short drive away, where you can wander through narrow lanes, visit quaint harbours, or enjoy a cream tea in a characterful café.

Children and adults alike will love exploring rock pools and building sandcastles on the beach.

The Danby Moors Centre is nearby, offering exhibitions, guided walks, and a lovely tea room.

The elegant Victorian town of Saltburn is also close, with ornamental gardens, a historic pier, and a unique cliff lift connecting the promenade to the beach.

With independent shops, cafés, and restaurants, it’s ideal for a leisurely afternoon.

A little further south lies the vibrant seaside town of Whitby, famous for its dramatic Abbey, reached via 199 stone steps, and its long sandy beaches.

Whether you’re enjoying fish and chips by the harbour or sipping a cocktail with sea views, there’s something for everyone.

Sycamore Lodge is a welcoming base for a varied and memorable holiday.

Staithes 10 miles; Whitby 15 miles; Guisborough 10 miles.

The village of Danby is nestled in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley in the heart of The North York Moors. The village has two pubs (both serving food), a bakery, a tea room and a health food shop. There is also an excellent National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge – an historic building set in 13 acres of riverside pasture, with facilities which include exhibitions, nature trails and tea rooms. Danby also boasts the ruins of a 14th century castle and the only remaining working water mill on the River Esk. The scenic Esk Valley Railway line runs through the village on its way to Whitby. The quaint moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, the market town of Pickering, the city of York and the Yorkshire Coast villages of Staithes, Saltburn and Robin Hood’s Bay are all within easy touring distance.
