Daffodil Lodge

We have stayed here a few times before and never fail to enjoy our time.

The surroundings are perfect and the wildlife is varied. A great base for a lovely holiday.

The area is so peaceful and the wildlife is stunning. A great base for visits along the coast and inland. We're coming back in April.

Beautiful lodge for a couples break away with pooch!

. Spacious for two, lovely and quiet area, nestled in woodland. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Just a short drive or lovely walk into Saltburn by sea and half an hour drive to the beautiful coastal town Whitby. The lodge has everything you need, spacious walk in shower, separate dinning area, lovely large bedroom with ample storage. Great private enclosed outdoor patio area and the benefit of a separate laundry room. Througly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely lodge situated in beautiful grounds behind Rushpool Hall.

Handy for the beach at Saltburn but you will need a car. The lodge has everything you need, the rooms are spacious and well decorated. We particularly enjoyed the shower and found the bed really comfortable. We found the sofa and chair in the living room a little uncomfortable but adequate, it would have been nice if the recliner was working. Only negative was the internet kept dropping out.

Lovely accommodation, that is why we came back again.

So peaceful and good walks with the dog.

This is the second time we have used daffodil lodge.

It’s a perfect base to explore nearby attractions Whitby. Scarborough etc. Set in beautiful surroundings a perfect place to relax. This is the third time we have been here, and look forward to visiting again soon

We really enjoyed our stay at Daffodil lodge.

This is our second visit to these lodges, and we can highly recommend them. Have everything we needed and very comfortable. Could just do with another little shelf in bathroom, and a long mirror somewhere perhaps. Probably need to check tumbler glasses, were 3 there and the smallest had a slight chip around the rim.

I have previously given positive feedback for our other week of this stay.

We have booked again for later this year, so this shows that we were very happy with our stay.

We had a great stay at Daffodil Lodge.

We have been here before and are never disappointed. The lodge is comfortable and homely, with tranquil surroundings and wonderful wildlife. The wedding venue nearby is a busy place but there is no intrusion into the lodge area either physically nor noise wise. We will be back later this year.

Fantastic property.

Was perfect for us. Great location too. Loved the welcome pack. Will definitely be back. Peacocks outside every day too. There was a few weddings whilst we were there but nothing that disturbed us. Was nice to hear the cheering and clapping

Daffodil Lodge is adequately furnished and equipped.

Would benefit from a dishwasher for stays longer than a couple of days. However, the position of the lodge in close proximity to Rushpool Hall, a wedding venue, means it is very noisy. When we visited for a long weekend, the music was extremely loud and continued till 1.30am. Sleep was impossible. When the lodge is described as being in the grounds, it should also state its closeness to the Hall. Definitely not suitable for a quiet, peaceful holiday.

Lovely log cabin just right for a short stay.

Beautiful surroundings with some nice walks with our dog. We even met some fairly tame peacocks outside our cabin one afternoon. We did hear the celebrations from a couple of weddings at the Hall but we knew about that possibility when we booked. Having just got married ourselves it didn’t bother us in the slightest. Staithes is definitely worth a visit as is Saltburn. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay there.

The place was great and the grounds fantastic. Some have complained about the wedding venue at the back, we loved listening to the performers they had each afternoon. The lodge is in easy reach of Saltburn . Also only a 40 min car journey to Whitby. The place was clean tidy and catered for all your needs. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Dog loved her treats too. Many Thanks for a great week.

If I knew there was a fully booked and very noisy wedding venue directly behind the cottage I would not have booked thi and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone does.

When I book anywhere the first thing I look for is quiet and tranquil. We both have busy lives and I have health problems so this is our first priority when booking anywhere. This property promised both. What you fail to tell people is there is a fully booked wedding venue directly behind the cottage which has weddings running everyday. The music starts at 2pm and finishes somewhere around midnight, every day. The bedroom backs onto this and so while in bed you can hear droning music and people talking/shouting all night. Also when the weather is nice the guest sit out directly behind the cottage talking and shouting until whatever time they want. The venue isnt linked to the cottages and no one can tell a wedding to be quiet so this basically ruined our entire stay, the cottage is lovely but the noise from the venue makes it horrendous to stay there, if it wasnt for the fact we were going further for the second week we would have gone home, it was that bad. I think its disgraceful that its not mentioned anywhere on the listing. With this in mind it is also nigh on impossible to walk safely into Saltburn, without the car and crazy parking costs we would have been sat listening to weddings all week. I would like to speak to someone about the experience as I think it was mis sold.

The accommodation was excellent.

Really enjoyed the walks in the woods, such a tranquil place to stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet break. Many thanks

This is our first time in a lodge.

The setting is beautiful.The place was spotless with enough of everything you could possibly require in utensils and pots and pans.etc.Tea bags coffee paper towel .Beautiful bathroom and laundry room was a bonus.We would like to come back next year .Parking for the car next to the lodge was really handy.

Very nice property in Nice setting, only problem, was weddings at Hall very loud music from 8 o'clock Saturday night till 2 30 am Sunday morning,also toaster tripping electric out and tin opener no good

Had a really pleasant stay in a well appointed lodge in a lovely location.

Nothing really to fault but must mention for anyone else interested in staying here, the site is situated above Rushpool Hall wedding venue. On the Friday night of our three night stay a wedding reception was in full swing outside, directly behind and below our lodge which by its very nature was quite noisy and intrusive which would have gone on into the small hours had it not been for a thunderstorm which drove the party-goers back inside, when, I have to say, the noise did subside. All this aside, a very enjoyable stay.

What a lovely lodge.

We walked in and had a lovely basket off goodies. The lodge was very well equipped. It was very clean and cosy. It felt like home right away. The folder left with information was so professional. We had a great sleep in the comfortable bed and the shower wow amazing. The grounds are just beautiful. My dog enjoyed the walk in the forest in the grounds. My partner and I will definitely book again at the lodge. We had a great stay. Thank you so much beautiful lodge.

A great weekend and Daffodil lodge had everything we needed, wish we could have stayed longer would definitely recommend

Lodge its self fine,patio round the back loose pavers as previous reviewer had stated.

The guttering could also need cleaning, neither stopped us from enjoying our holiday.

Patio furniture uncomfortable.

Patio had very uneven flags some of which were loose. Kitchen was tired some of kitchen cabinet doors did not close without being held in position for a little while. Pasta dishes would be a useful addition.

Lovely, peaceful location.

Especially loved the company of the peacocks! Very cosy cabin, had a really relaxing holiday with lots of walking in beautiful surroundings. Cabin is fully equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for the treats on arrival and I would definitely stay again.

The lodge was beautiful.

..no complaints just a bit too far from amenities..unfortunately we had to leave in a rush due to a bereavement... x

Clean and comfortable accommodation in beautiful location, it’s a disappointment dogs had to be kept on a lead but plenty of places nearby where they can run free.

A wonderful relaxing holiday.

The cabin was excellent in all ways,no complaints whatsoever.

Very comfortable stay in well kept grounds, ideal location for exploring the north east coast, nice woodlands walk.

Very much lived up to are expectations lovely surrounding and very relaxing just what we needed

Everything was spot on, instruction, keys, surprise welcome pack, comfortable and warm when needed, WiFi was intermittent (no fault of the owners, IT company had issues they were unable to fix) very nice break would recommend to anyone.

The location of the property

Functions held in nearby Rushpool Hall can spoil tranquility of this site due to loud music and shouting by some people attending venues.

A safe walking path to Saltburn on sea would be advantageous.

Chalet was ideal , lovely view from patio, grounds of estate stunning.

Enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable and clean. Loved the wildlife on site. Shops, pubs etc.a bit further away than we thought but we really enjoyed it anyway.

Daffodil lodge was an ideal base for exploring the area.

The setting in the grounds of the Rushpool estate are both beautiful and peaceful. However there are a few things I feel I must comment on: the woodland path that leads to the seafront is extremely steep and very slippery in places, especially when the ground is wet. It should be made clear that it is unsuitable for anyone but the fittest and most able-bodied! My husband took the dog along the path for a short distance and came back as it was too slippy to go any further. In the description of the lodges it states that each one has a private patio and whilst, to an extent, this is true, they are not completely enclosed, meaning that if you have a dog with you, it cannot be let out of the lodge unless taken out on the lead. It may sound like laziness on the owner's part but it would be much better if the patio was completely enclosed so that a pet can go outside without having to be taken out all the time, especially first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The lodge itself was clean and comfortable with a fantastic shower and a good heating system. The utility room was very handy but would benefit from having a sink. The kitchen was equipped with the essential crockery and utensils but that was all and the hob and oven were very slow to warm up making cooking a very slow process, even for a bacon sandwich! I'm sure that in "normal" times this wouldn't be such an issue but as eating out isn't really an option at the moment it was a bit frustrating that cooking took such a long time and with very little equipment to utilise. Overall we enjoyed our break in this lovely area and would return but not necessarily to these lodges, unless some changes were made to them. There are cottages in the area with more facilities that can be rented for a similar price.

The Lodge is in the most beautiful location overlooking Rushpool Hall!

Perfect for couples looking for a break, being so close to shops and the seaside. The only feedback is, the bed could be more comfortable, maybe ready for a new mattress. We will definitely be returning and recommend to our friends and family! Thank you for our stay.

A beautiful place to just kick back and relax, stunning grounds and surrounding area.

The property was clean and so cozy and it was lovely to just sit and watch so much wildlife but wasn't too impressed with the screeching of the peacocks in the early hours lol. Perhaps a signed footpath down to the river, that will take you into Saltburn without having to walk along the very narrow road would of just of been the finishing touch? We will be back!

You list a dedicated woodland path into Saltburn.

This no longer exists as the path and the bridge were washed away a few years ago according to the staff at Rushpool Hall.

Although the accommodation was very well equipped I think it could do with a dishwasher but that’s only a minor negative as we will certainly go back next year

Daffodil Lodge was in many respects above our expectations and was excellently equipped however, there are a few points I would like to make which, did not detract from our enjoyment.

[1] the vacuum cleaner was full of dog hairs and had not been emptied since last use. [2] there was significant fluff and dust under the bed. [3] the floor around the toilet was filthy and had not been hygienically cleaned for some time since there was a smell of male urine all over the floor around the sides and back of the unit. [4] the windows had not been recently cleaned. These points did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay but the standard of cleanliness was slip shod at best. To thoroughly clean and make ready should take not less than 2 hours. Another comment which was a pain for my wife was the lack of dressing table facilities. This feature should be in the centre of the main bedroom wardrobe and would not detract from that facility. The other bedroom - used as a dining room - the fitted wardrobe centre section should have had a hanging rail fitted and the lack of which made the unit half useless. Our stay in the lodge was better than expected even after all the above complaints which did not detract from the overall facility. Reception was quick and better than expected. Our stay was over what might be the hottest part of the year but that did not detract from our enjoyment of the lodge. Because of the temperatures we had to have most windows and doors open. It might be an idea to provide simple rubber door stops to hold doors open. We had enough shoes to do this. Overall an excellent week for us and a great place to stay and my 'whinges' above did not detract from our enjoyment at all. To be 100% fair I doubt better value for what we paid could be found anywhere else. I will definitely use again.

From being met at reception to leaving for home the whole thing was fantastic.

The peace and tranquility of the surroundings and friendliness of the other people I met.

The Lodge and surroundings amazing one small problem the bed was very low my wife has bad legs and struggled to get off bed but did manage Told lady in office but otherwise ok

Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings with a daily visit from the resident peacock .

Near to the beach and country park will be returning hopefully soon.

We felt that the list being in North Yorkshire was a bit off the mark it was more like Cleveland.

I do realise that the boundary would say North Yorkshire but it was at the very top end of Yorkshire. I have to say that the lodge and its immediate surroundings were very nice indeed

We stayed in a log cabin , and had everything we needed , including a welcoming gift , the surroundings were magnificent, with lovely views with peace and tranquillity for a lovely break

This was a brilliant place to stay the accommodation was very good and very clean would definitely recommend it and would have no problem booking it again

The cabin was in a lovely spot.

Although think the website explaining facilities of the hall needs updating .Could not get in cabin till 4pm on the website it was 3 PM
