    “The Lodge was superb and I enjoyed the accommodation very much.”

    My only disappointment was that I wasn’t informed about the fact that a vehicle was needed in order to get anywhere. I was there for 10 nights with my Rough Collie and overall it cost me over £200 in taxi fees, to go out and return each day. Perhaps this situation could be made clear to people who don’t have their own transport.

Orchid Lodge is a beautifully appointed, detached single-storey lodge set within peaceful woodland surroundings near Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire.

With serene views, a private patio, and tasteful interiors, this pet-friendly hideaway is ideal for couples in search of a restful countryside retreat.

Inside, the open-plan living area is light and welcoming, thoughtfully arranged for comfort and practicality.

The sitting area includes plush seating and a Freeview TV, perfect for relaxing after a day out.

The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, and freezer, while the breakfast bar offers a laid-back spot for morning meals.

A separate dining room provides a more formal space for evening dinners or games, seating two with ease.

The double bedroom is attractively furnished, offering a peaceful place to unwind, and is served by a sleek shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC.

Outside, the private gated patio is ideal for enjoying a morning brew or evening tipple while listening to birdsong or spotting the occasional peacock.

The Victorian seaside resort of Saltburn-by-the-Sea is well named owing to the sweeping sandy beaches and spectacular coastline of glacial boulder clays. Located at the northern tip of the North York Moors, this small town has an elegant charm about it with a dramatic steep curving roadway which leads from the town centre to the beach. With its long pier and unique cliff lift, this pretty seaside resort appeals to people of all ages wishing to combine the coast with the moors. The refurbished town centre has excellent amenities with a variety of independent shops, tea rooms and restaurants.
