The Cabin

This property has so much potential if it was given some tlc and the correct maintenance.

Firstly the water is undrinkable from the taps, it smells like sewer water and is discoloured. A bottle of water was left by the owner so the problem is clearly known about but not mentioned in the listing. The 'summer house' for 'alfresco dining' (as advertised) was so dirty i wouldnt of let a dog eat from in there. The hottub lights dont work and it wasnt to temperature when we arrived at 3pm, and still wasnt to temperature by 6pm. The hottub itself is dated and shows signs of needing maintenance, the waterfall feature doesnt work properly. The hottub pergola has missing screws and had cable ties keeping it together. The overall cleanliness of the cabin was satisfactory however clearly areas of neglect e.g between the sinks in the bathroom was disgusting with fake eyelashes and dust/dirt/limescale. Limsecale build up in the shower area with stained shower matt. Stains on living room carpet. Beds comfortable and bedding clean. Clean towels provided. Overall disappointed. This property just needs some love and attention

The accommodation was excellent and we were very happy with the cleanliness our only problem was that the large TV in the living room was faulty and we could not get it to work properly.

We called the agent who said that someone would call to fix it, that didn't happen and this was disappointing. The hot tub was not hot and there was no way of raising the temperature, this was also disappointing. However, despite those two problems it was an excellent place to stay and we would stay again no problem, thank you.

It's a shame with this place, It's a nice setting the cabin looks impressive, plenty of parking, great hot tub, but that's where it ends as there are alot of issues.

Firstly with the water being from a bore hole it STINKS! this is not acceptable! the 4 of us all suffered with upset stomachs. Then when you look you notice a few probs with quality etc. The lights in the Hot Tub didn't work The canopy over the Hot Tub is broken (snapped) The Locks on the Cabin Doors are awkward to lock, badly fitted. The Bathroom toilet needs a new seat this one it twisted. The lights set into the plinth under the bath are dropping out. not to mention the light switch seems dodgy (the left rocker switch is coming away you can see a gap. The Shower doesn't have a shelf in it to put your shampoo and shower Gel, there's also no hook to hang your towel, and the smell and the force of water from the sinks is pathetic. The TV in the main room has an issue with the screen, white dots which look like dead LED Cells. As someone mentioned the curtains are a nightmare to pull up and down. The rug is a trip hazard in the living room its dog eared right next to the glass doors to the kitchen. ( accident waiting to happen) No lamp or light switch on the right hand side of the main bed so had to feel around in the dark when going to the bathroom. Although the bed was comfy its not very big, the base seems to be larger than the mattress. Outside has nice lights on the cabin and wall near the hot tub but no working light either in the summerhouse or on the front of it? Have to be honest....... my conclusion is the Cabin in this setting is ideal but over the winter period the owner needs to shut it down for a few weeks and address the issues I have raised, then it would be hard to beat and I would consider coming again.

The accommodation is beautiful and in a lovely location.

We had a lovely relaxed stay there and would go again but there were a couple of issues with items not quite working as they should. The Roman blinds in the lounge operating mechanism was unreliable at best. The dishwasher top tray isn’t seated correctly so doesn’t glide in and out - it judders and can be reluctant to allow the door to close if you haven’t really pushed it in hard enough. The bedrooms were all lovely but the single rooms could use a bedside light so that you don’t have to blind yourself with full room lighting. Fans in the heat would also have been welcome but I understand the weather during our stay was exceptional. Everything was very clean and we did enjoy our stay, just a couple of little niggles but we would stay here again.

Stay was ruined due to foul smelling water from all taps and the shower making the bathtub and shower unable to be used for entire stay.

Had to use bottled water for brushing teeth etc. Decor within the home nice and lots of kitchen utensils and equipment to use. Hot tub was hot on arrival.

The cabin is located in Lovely quiet setting.

First impressions where very good. On the surface Cleanliness was fairly good but could be improved in places. The microwave was not clean inside, behind the sofa was very dusty with dead flies. The fence around the cabin wasnt secure for a small dog, maybe a netting could be fitted around the bottom. The water pressure was very poor, couldn't wash our hair because it kept going to a trickle and cold. Other than these problems mentioned it was a lovely place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation.

Plenty of space for our dog to roam, which he loved. Close to lots of lovely walks, and fun places for children. Cannot wait to return

The cabin is stunning! The cabin is spacious, clean and modern! Everything you need in the cabin is there. A spacious court yard area for our beagle. The hot tub was great too! The cabin is based in a lovely quiet area on the site, plus the site is a short drive away from local shops etc. Also around the site, there are plenty of scenic walks we enjoyed. As well as a 30-40 minute drive to Whitby and Scarborough. The perfect getaway, we would come again!

Few issues with water pressure and the boiler being under pressure when we arrived but I soon sorted that.

Water out of a borehole not filtered. But other than that 10/10 would highly recommend

We loved the property but on arriving their was no heating on and it was freezing cold it would have been better to have put the heating on a few hours before we got there, kitchen was so cold.

The hot tub first night was OK but for 2 days was too cold til someone came and checked it.we had no use of tvs for the whole weekend just wouldn't work told to change batteries but their was only one and no one came to check so we gave up. I want to say it's a lovely cabin and we did have a nice relaxing time but it's a good job I had my ipad with us to watch a bit of TV with my sky go and apps, really think it should be looked into as kids love TV. Also the bedding on the big bed was was too small and kept popping off very annoying. Please look into these points as I said it was lovely but just frustrating and doubt we'd go back because of these points.

The place was lovely.

Rang up first day but no reply water was just a trickle no pressure.bath was a no go.tv kept going black no picture remote in room .was useless.hit miss.dishwasher worked once then wouldn’t go again.hot tub was ace but thought should be checked n filled up daily or at least looked at in 4 days not sure.

We cannot fault the cabin, our stay was fabulous, definitely recommend staying x

The cottage was very well cleaned when we got there.

The location was excellent for exploring North Yorkshire and there was ample parking. The host was also quick to respond when communicated. As other reviews state, the water pressure was extremely poor which made washing up and showering quite difficult. The cottage would benefit from some additional items to aid guests such as a drying rack for inside drying of clothing, some kitchen scissors, some larger style pint glasses, coat-hangers for hanging clothing. We feel it would be useful to mention in the property description that the water supply is from a borehole to allow guests ample preparation of drinking water. We also agree with other reviews about the garden not being very well enclosed and the hot tub maintenance. We did not feel comfortable allowing our dog out in the garden without a lead.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Cabin.

It was a spacious, comfortable, warm accommodation with comfy beds and a lovely bathroom. We felt it lacked a few kitchen items for a week's stay, which we ended up purchasing ourselves; kitchen scissors, a corkscrew, a cafetiere and some plastic glasses. It has loads of wardrobe space but unusually no hangers in any of the rooms. The hot tub was nice and hot but unfortunately we felt could be maintained better in our opinion. Also, it was unusable for our last night as for some reason the water temperature dropped too low. Someone had coincidentally come on the site that day looking for a fuse box outside? We didn't experience a particular lack of water pressure as previous reviewers but the whole supply was unexpectedly cut off for about an hour at one point by workers without giving us notice. Still a nice, comfortable place to stay.

We have just got back from a long weekend at this lovely place.

The accommodation is so comfortable and homely and so well equipped. If I was to pick any downside it would be that the garden isn’t secure for small dogs, particularly a Yorkshire Terrier! Other than that, it’s in a great location with easy access to lots of locations. We’d be happy to go again

Absolutely stunning cabin, my partner and I fell in love with it.

Very clean on arrival. Comfortable & peaceful. The hottub was amazing and easy to use. We didnt have any problems till the last day, the shower and bath didnt work due to not much water coming out. But friday and saturday they worked so it wasnt a major issue. Dalby forrest is just 20 mims away from the cabin, that was the most beautiful forrest we've ever been too, also the village was only 5 mins away by car. That is lovely and people are so welcoming. We are most definitely going to stay at the cabin again next year.

Lovely cabin, shame about water problems, but owner was very helpful, biggest problem was the over hanging oak tree and all the acorns falling onto the tin roof night and day!

We were impressed by the neat layout of the site and the quality of the accommodation.

Each property having it's own private area. The jacuzzi was amazing. The water pressure was sometimes too low. The location was very good for visits to Whitby, Scarborough and York.

Start off by saying it’s a beautiful cabin.

.the bad bit there was very low water pressure the first day second day no water at all for most of the day.none of us could shower all weekend had a 15 minute drive Sunday morning to buy water so we could have a drink

Overall a very lovely place to stay.

The host was lovely and tried very hard to redeem the issues we had. 1. The postcode is not correct on the website, it would have been easier if the name of the camp site was mentioned. 2. The water comes from a borehole so it smells of sulphur. I only used bottled water. However even with these things that were not good. We had a fantastic stay and the place was top notch.

The cabin was just amazing .

.it was spotlessly clean and everything you could need was there ..the hot tub was fantastic and easy to use ..it was an ideal location to flamingo land zoo and we will definitely be returning .
