“Well this is ok for the owner to visit but not to rent out.”

In some areas of the cabin mainly the main bedroom and especially the ensuite. Stains on the bed cannot be missed with an unexpected sponge mattress. The shower door hanging off, and mould all around the framework. The TV was old we had to sort the coaxial to get a reception. Could not get Netflix or connect a firestick to get our Netflix etc. We had a message to say there was a welcoming pack (as we paid nearly double the normal price for 3 nights) we expected more than 4 tea bags, 2 pints of ...

We had a message to say there was a welcoming pack (as we paid nearly double the normal price for 3 nights) we expected more than 4 tea bags, 2 pints of milk and a small box of biscuits. Also 3 toilet rolls for 4 adults for 3 nights 1 bin bag. The hot tub was ok but needs servicing as only a few jets worked at the same time. No towels also for the hot tub.

Hi Kevin Thank you for your feedback, it’s always good to receive in order to improve Please allow me to respond to your many points The TV does have the capability to get Netflix and also has Sky TV. When you messaged me I tried to explain how to get on it. The welcome pack included Tea bags, milk, biscuits, as well as providing you with coffee from the stand alone coffee machine - this is designed to welcome you but, may I remind you that this is self catering and not to last the entire stay. I would think that 3 toilet rolls were adequate for 3 nights and 4 adults. The hot tub was fully operational on the check and clean before you arrive and has since received it’s regular service this week where it was confirmed that it was 100% operational, maybe some of the jets were simply turned off? We supply face towels and bath towels -usually this is sufficient for our guests needs. Again, many thanks for your comments, they really do help us improve Regards Tony Property Owner

About the location

RICHMOND

Barnard Castle 10 miles; Leyburn 12 miles.

Situated at the entrance to Swaledale, the ancient market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. Its cobbled streets and narrow alleys or 'wynds' enshrine over nine centuries of busy history and unique character. The town grew up around its castle, a Norman fortress dating back to 1071, famously situated high above the river - indeed the name Richmond is derived from 'Riche-mont' meaning 'strong hill'. Today there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed such as the Castle Walk - a dramatic terrace walk beneath the castle walls - or alternatively walk alongside the River Swale where there are parks, safe paddling areas and small waterfalls to enjoy. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The town flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries and the resulting elegant Georgian architecture lines many of the old streets. The Georgian Theatre is one of the oldest surviving theatres in the country with visitors enjoying its regular productions all year round.
