Finnbars Lodge

We loved our short break to Finnbars Lodge.

The lodge itself was beautiful and the contact and communication with the owner was brilliant. Our weekend was everything we wanted it to be. I would highly recommend staying here and will be booking again.

It was a truly lovely and relaxing break.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful, set in such a peaceful and gorgeous part of the countryside. It was just what we needed — a chance to slow down and unwind. Our dog loved it too, and it was wonderful to be able to bring him along. ❤️

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at finnbars lodge.

everything was spot on..it was decorated and furnished to very high standard..They even supplied little extras like towels ,tea towels, clothes , washing up liquid etc..also nice little welcome basket of teas, coffee and snacks and pint of milk in fridge and doggy treats and bowls..nice little touch.. It is situated higher up overlooking the park with lovely views..very peaceful and tranquil... Perfect for a relaxing quiet break ...

Excellent clean comfortable

We're so glad we chose to stay at Finnbars Lodge for our trip to the Yorkshire Dales.

Everything about the lodge was spot on! It was so well equipped with everything we could have needed for a very comfortable stay. It was very spacious, bright and airy and so very nicely furnished and decorated. We very much appreciated and enjoyed having the wraparound balcony to sit out on....it was a bit of a godsend in the heatwave! The holiday park where the lodge is situated( Badgers Retreat) was very peaceful and tranquil and almost feels remote but Tesco and Aldi are in fact only a few mins drive away. The lodge itself is positioned on an elevated position looking down through the trees to the lower part of the holiday park...it's quite scenic. The lodge was well located for us as it was close to the places we planned on visiting in the area. We would certainly highly recommend Finnbars Lodge and there's a good chance we'll return some time in the future.

We had a wonderful weekend at Finnbars lodge.

It was clean, tidy and extremely comfortable. We had a relaxed stay with lots of home comforts. The owners have thought of everything including treats and bowls for dogs.

Finnbars Lodge was 5* in all aspects, We would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Everything we could have needed was catered for including milk in the fridge and a small hamper with tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and crisps. The large combined lounge, dining and kitchen was beautifully laid out with doors to a balcony. It was so immaculate. There was a vase of fresh flowers on the dining table, and several vases of artificial flowers around the room. Definitely felt home from home. Books to read, information leaflets, good Internet reception. Very quiet, beautiful views and central for lots of places to visit. We could not fault it. Thank you for making our stay so comforatable.

Lovely lodge in great location.

Very clean and comfortable and everything we needed. Thanks.

Beautiful lodge in an excellent location.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Smashing Hit the spot !

!

Finnbars lodge is excellently furnished to a high standard & and spotlessly clean.

My reason for not giving it 5 stars is because there was only 4 cups in the cupboard & no small bowl to use in the microwave. Despite this I would definitely recommend this property.

Yes

Finnbars Lodge was a superb lodge to stay it was beautiful inside and out I will certainly tell all my friends and family what a fantastic stay we had.

5* accommodation and everything about our stay was fantastic. We will definitely stay again can’t fault Finnbars Lodge at all. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay xx

Having spent a week in late July at Finnibars lodge ( 3 adults and 1 dog) I have to say if you’re looking for a peaceful setting in the countryside with easy access to Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales this is the place for you.

The lodge is beautifully presented, clean and as all the facilities you need for a perfect home from home holiday. We would definitely recommend this stay…..

We have just had a lovely four night stay at Finnbars Lodge and we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely and clean and very stylish, it is a lovely lodge, and the owner was very helpful too. We hope to return soon.

The lodge was extremely comfortable and to a very high standard we really enjoyed our stay, would definitely go back again, very relaxing .

Richmond was a lovely place to stay with lots of great walks and historical facts. Great shops and restaurants.

The lodge was in an excellent position with a lovely view.

It was very comfortable and convenient to get to lots of interesting places. We did find that the central heating took time to kick in. Particularly in the early morning and early evening. The heating is on a set timer so can not be increased. However we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would visit again.

The lodge is very nice in a great location for the Dales and surrounding areas but there where a few things that has made us feel we would never want to go back.

When we first walked into the lodge, we were met with a very strong smell that I can only describe as sick. There where stains on the sofa which I think the smell may have been c

Finnbars lodge was wonderful.

,We booked for 4 nights. The booking with sykes was safe and secure and check in details with the owner Sally was great. Keys waiting for us and heating on. The site was easy to find. Clean and tidy with a seperate area for bins and pet waste. There was a reception area open mon-fri should you have needed anything. There were Lodges for sale advertised here too and local information. The site had a few residents but mainly lodges for rental. Each lodge was well separated from each other. Some with small gardens and hot tubs. pretty much all with balconies and felt very private. We were in Lodge 46 high up, was perfect. So, plenty to choose from if you wish to return and re book same or another lodge. As a self catering lodge we were impressed with the little extras like cloths. Tea towels. Wash up liquid. Hairdryer. Loo roll , soap in the bathrooms etc.. Large fridge and oven easy to use. The smart tv was a bonus too. It was frosty when we were there so take care on the steps down to the lodge. The views from the balcony were lovely through the day and at night the stars and resident barn owl was amazing. The heating came on and off through the day but we're were able to slightly adjust the temperate if needed. The blinds and blackout curtains were perfect for a good night's sleep. Showers good too with high water pressure. Richmond. Thirsk. Bedale and Ripon all close by. Lovely little market towns. We can recommend the Farmers arms pub nearby. Huge portions and a fab menu. We had an absolutely fabulous stay here and will def be booking again. Our dogs loved it too

Our stay at this lodge was lovely, the lodge itself was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay.

Some towels where provided however we did take our own, plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery provided, hairdryer, hoover, and a lovely touch was the hamper of tea, coffee shortbread biscuits and milk in the fridge helped settle us in after a long journey. We rated cleanliness a 3 purely because there was a lot of dust that had settled on the slatted blind's throughout the lodge and the shelving in the en-suite which I had to clean before putting my belongings on it as it was quite thick. Beds were fairly comfortable however nowhere is quite like your own bed and we all slept through. Accessibility to the lodge itself could cause issues with those less mobile, it is high up and from your parking space to the lodge you have to walk up and down deep steps and is not wheelchair accessible. The lodge has a very handy enclosed entrance hall which has a sink and washing machine, this area came in very handy for cleaning muddy paws and removing our shoes prior to entering the main living area. The lodge has a vast amount of storage for your belongings. The lodge is warm and cosy, has beautiful views and a great dog walk, the lodge does not have an enclosed garden and as dogs must be kept on a lead it was a bit of a chore having to put our dog on a lead to let him out to do his business. The owner kindly messaged us upon our arrival to welcome us and to reiterate that if we had any concerns we could contact her any time. Overall we had a lovely stay and we would be happy to stay here again.

I had a lovely stay at Finnbars Lodge between Christmas and New Year with my husband and 2 teenage children.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful, lovely, spacious and very clean, with everything we needed. It's in a great location, extremely peaceful and only a short drive away from many cafes, pubs, shops etc. We would 100% recommend booking Finnbars lodge and hope to go back again during the summer months.

Finnbars Lodge was 5* in all aspects, We would definetely recomend it to friends and family.

Everything we could have needed was catered for including milk in the fridge and a small hamper with tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and crisps. The large combined lounge, dining and kitchen was beautifully laid out with doors to a balcony. It was so immaculate. There was a vase of fresh flowers on the dining table, and several vases of arteficial flowers around the room. Definietely felt home from home. Books to read, information leaflets, good Internet reception. Very quiet, beautiful views and central for lots of places to visit. We could not fault it. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.
