We had a wonderful relaxing long weekend at Skylark - it had everything we wanted.

It was comfortable and very well maintained. The welcome pack was a lovely touch - especially the milk as I had left ours in the fridge at home!!! I’m not sure if the WiFi was only available for a certain length of time but none of us could get on to it from Sunday tea time ?? One very minor criticism was that there was only a very small wardrobe in the twin room with nowhere to hang anything longer than a very short top. Fine for children’s clothes but no good for adults. Maybe a hook on the back of the bedroom door would have solved this. We would definitely recommend a stay here and would probably book it again ourselves.

..all you need for a relaxing break...welcome pack and milk in fridge a nice addition. Only reason for giving four stars is water from shower in double bed bathroom didn't drain away properly...water spread into bedroom...easily mopped up of course but think it needs looking at. Otherwise we had a great time and would definitely stay there again....

Very comfortable as a base to visit friends and attend a wedding. Good meal out at nearby Fridaythorpe. Suggestions for minor additions of more jigsaws, local books, bedside rugs and handles by toilets/showers for the infirm.

Our host Rob was very helpful from providing directions before arrival to asking us if we would like the hot tub ready for our first night. He also brought us over some teabags Sunday evening when we ran out as my Mum is a bit of a tea hag

Lovely accommodation with a luxury finish and feel throughout.

Really thoughtful welcome package including everything from tea and coffee to biscuits, milk in the fridge and shower gel. Loved the wood fired log burner with plenty of wood provided and heated ready for our arrival on the first evening. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back again.

Absolutely catered for all our needs.

Set on a peaceful farm in beautiful Yorkshire, just a short drive from the East coast. Would highly recommend this lodge, and we have done quite a few!! Only downside might be the hot-tub, as it’s wood burner as stated. Takes a good hour and a half to heat up, hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. But that’s it, would definitely come back again.

We were blighted to arrive at this beautiful property for our 10 day summer holiday.

It was fully equipped with everything we needed for our family stay. It was most peaceful and quiet, with little road and farm noise. The property was located to the east of York, where there plenty of things to see and do. Lots of good places to eat and drink locally as well. We most enjoyed our family holiday. The hot tub was an extra bonus. Rob was only a message alway, if we had any issues, which was a comfort.

Skylark was in a lovely rural, peaceful location.

The lodge was very well presented, well equipped and comfortably furnished..Deserving of its 5 star rating, we felt it was a special venue for a relaxed mini break with friends. We appreciated the contact from the owner to check our arrival time to ensure the hot tub was ready to use. We would certainly book again.

Lovely modern property which was nice and warm inside (which was essential considering how cold it was outside).

Excellent location. Great layout and excellent facilities. We were asked the day before arriving if we wanted the hot tub warm for when we arrived and if so what time we were planning on getting there. When we arrived the hot tub was hot which was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

Was a brilliant touch having the hot tub already warm when we arrived which we all loved. The property is located in an ideal location to head to york or the coast. Will definitely be back

We had a fantastic stay this weekend gone (25th-27th oct).

The property was so clean and welcoming. The owner took the time to heat the wood fired hot tub up for us on the day of our arrival so that we didn't have to wait for it to heat up. The little things like the tea and coffee basket with a few biscuit and savory treats was such a lovely touch and made us smile when we first arrived. Everything was thoroughly thought out and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. The only negative was...we just weren't there long enough! Next time, we will definitely be booking for longer!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

This lodge had everything we needed hence my ratings.

The entrance was absolutely ideal for charging my daughter’s electric wheelchair (she didn’t need to use it inside) although I’m sure there was plenty of room. However there is just one thing that would have been more beneficial and that is hand rails in the shower/wetroom. We hope to visit again.

Ourselves and two friends enjoyed our week in this new property which was in a pleasant countryside location and within reasonable distance of places to visit in East Yorkshire.

We did manage to find the lodge, despite the directions referring to a right turn when it should have been left. We understand that others may have been going to the wrong farms. The standard of the property was as expected from the images and the price we paid. That said, we had a problem with the shower room flooding and that was very disappointing and inconvenient when we were there for a whole week. The friendly owner was concerned and was to speak to his builder. There was no quick fix for us and we think shower doors are needed for both showers. The description failed to mention the dishwasher and so that was a pleasant surprise. Be aware that the ‘double room’ is a double and not a king size bed as we would have hoped for in a property of this standard. We made the booking knowing that there was not a washing machine and drier. This was less than we would normally expect when staying for a week, even just for the purpose of freshening towels and especially with the flooding shower room. We wonder if the owner has had poor advice on this.

We didn't get time to notify the owners before we left, but one of the showers floods the adjoining bedroom because the floor slopes in the wrong direction.

But in general this is an amazing cottage, with excellent facilities.

We enjoyed the hot tub, as an extra treat and found the accommodation to be comfortable and a place we could relax. Welcome pack was much appreciated and owner was very helpful. One thing we think could be improved was the water from the shower, especially off of the twin room as it wanted to escape into the bedroom, however we angled the shower head. We highly recommend this property, set in a lovely location.

Myself my wide and our two grandchildren enjoyed out stay at Skylark.

Where I would say it is a high end extremely well speced lodge. Everything you would need for your stay. Located in a rural position and located within easy commutable distance to York, Scarborough, Flamingo land and a host of other locations. We will be back.

We looked at many properties during our search for somewhere to stay and we are so glad we found this one.

The lodge is immaculate with everything you could want during your stay. The hot tub was a bonus, so easy to use and a joy to relax in after a long day out on the bike. The location is perfect if you want peace and quiet but close enough to amenities when you need them and if you want to eat out we had a fab meal at The Wolds Inn in nearby Huggate. We have already recommended this place to others and will definitely book again in the future.

The lodge was exceptionally clean and very well presented to a high standard.

Personally we prefer a non wood fired hot tub so we can use it whenever we feel like it without the hassle and waiting for it to heat. Having said that the hot tub itself was very clean.

We had a wonderful few days in Skylark.

The lodge was extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable. We had all we needed for a very enjoyable stay. We cooked all our evening meals at the lodge and found everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The showers were luxurious, and the wood fired hot tubs were a highlight for us all. For constructive feedback, perhaps adding blackout lining to the bedroom curtains would help for lengthier sleeping as the huge windows are wonderful but let a lot of light in! Also, more information about bins, recycling etc may have been useful. The amount of suggestions for places to go was brilliant! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. To have the hot tub ready to go when we arrived was wonderful, and such a nice touch. A very generous hamper on arrival was amazing. A fantastic lodge, thank you.
