About the location

SEAMER, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Scarborough 5.1 miles; Whitby 22.4 miles.

Seamer is a pretty village near the coast in North Yorkshire, with a charming blend of old and new buildings adding character to the area, while the main street boasts a collection of old stone houses. You have three traditional pubs serving tasty food, a supermarket, a general store with a Post Office and a church. Spend a day being entertained by all the seaside amenities of Scarborough, which can be easily accessed by car, where you will find parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle overlooking the town. Head to either the North Bay or South Bay for an afternoo stroll of sandcastle building on the beach and later you can grab a bite to eat at one of the pubs or restaurants. You also have the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Coastal walks can be enjoyed along the Cleveland Way and you also have the cycle route taking you on the old railway to Whitby, where you can climb its famous 199 steps to the ruins of the abbey. You are in a wonderful position for exploring Heritage coast and the moors, a superb base for a holiday in Yorkshire.
