Loved the place.

Clean, peaceful, everthing to a high standard with everthing you could need, great location and the welcome pack was awesome. Its dog friendly and the pub is a couple of minutes walk and serves great food. Would recommend this beautiful lodge.

Great accommodation in every respect

Had a very relaxing stay at rockpool retreat.

Not the best start as we found the kitchen window blind on the sink unit, but we hooked it back on as best we could and left it alone. However the welcome pack was fantastic as was the rest of the accommodation. Perfectly placed for visiting the north Yorkshire coastal towns and a very quiet and secure site. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and great for our needs. Runswick is a lovely town.

Absolutely amazing lodge.

We stayed here for 4 nights from 31st till the 4th and didn’t want to leave. The lodge was immaculate, the main bed was extremely comfortable. The provisions of cleaning supplies, fully equipped kitchen and mini complimentary toiletries was fabulous, especially as we were holidaying with a child, having little things like anti bacterial wipes and dishwasher tablets supplied was great. The welcome basket was also a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated! I fully recommend this lodge and will be returning, it was peaceful, relaxing and everything we wanted.

Lovely property good location had one minor issue which was sorted very quickly with a phone call.

Easy access to local bus service to explore the area. Will certainly consider staying here again.

Loved the property, particularly the privacy.

Some things do not work, extractor fan for cooker as an example, access to the deck from the road also does not work, the gate is rigged incorrectly, not great to keep wet dogs out of the property. The local hotel/ pub is a star and we will be back.

All good - some of the lads stayed there as we on a golf few days - we have a lodge 5 doors away so know it

Noted a few repairs needed attention since last holiday in same place only 2 months earlier.

Reported shower problem via Watsapp message whilst there but no action taken. Left a note re other issues. Otherwise everything very good and hospitality gifts appreciated. Friends thought place amazing.

A lovely small development which would work well for those with children due to low traffic cul de sac & v near coastal path and pubs serving food and cafe.

The lodge was pristine and the scented bed linen lovely. A well equipped kitchen and great layout with a utility entrance allows you to dump shoes, dog stuff etc . Large lounge and dining table leading onto decking with another large table and clean bbq gives dining options. Good to have both bath and shower rooms. Comfy beds. Tiny niggles a shower head that slides down the pole and won’t direct into mid shower and a dishwasher that doesn’t score 10/10. I would rebook despite knowing the above!

Lovely, comfortable and clean property.

Situated in a quiet, gated area. Conveniently situated for the beach and several beaches in the area. There are shops and eating places within a short drive. Whitby is not too far for some serious shopping. My only whinge is that the property needs a quick visit by a plumber to fix some dripping taps. Other than that, we all had a wonderful time and the welcome pack was the crowning glory.

Lovely accommodation, clean and comfortable.

The kitchen is well equipped. BBQ on decking is probably past its best but logs provided, we took disposable ones and used the BBQ as a stand to avoid cleaning. Decking as table chairs and umbrella and is a lovely sun trap. Property is in a great location which is very peaceful, a few minutes walk to the pub, the beach and village are walkable. Rockpool is probably one of the cosiest lodges that we have stayed in we very much enjoyed it.

Excellent stay and very pleasant surroundings .

We had a lovely stay at Rockpool Retreat.

The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was the best we've ever had, with essentials and lots of treats, including treats for our dog! The small complex is very peaceful, well maintained and secure, the perfect place if you are wanting to relax. Runswick Bay is a delightful beach with a cafe and pub for food and drink. With the Costal Path right on the doorstep, there's lots of walking opportunities without moving the car.

The property was up to expectations we had a great week there the place was spotless and there was everything there you could need The site is very tidy we will definitely look to come again

2nd time we've been will be coming again

Spectacular accommodation, beautifully furnished with everything you need for your holiday stay.

Set in a lovely quiet and secure location. Great base for exploring the local area, Runswick Bay a short walk away and further afield. Will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous time.

Cabin was very nice. Area was quiet and beautiful. There was lots of goodies left for us, coffee, cake, biscuits and chocolate my favourites. On a plus point the weather was gorgeous and lots of places to visit. Whitby, Saltburn and Runswick bay beach with in walking distance. Loved it. Thank you

The property is well situated and exceeded all our expectations.

There was a lovely welcome basket which was a really nice touch. There was an abundance of games for the children that were also appreciated and not expected. The instructions to the site were accurate as were the gate and key codes. We had a fantastic trip and will definitely be returning and will re come d to our friends. Janine and Garry

BEAUTIFUL PLACE QUIET AREA .

BUT ONE OR TWO ISSUES WITH CLEANLINESS VACUUM CLEANER WAS SO FULL WE COULD NOT USE IT TILL WE EMPTIED IT MAINLY DOG HAIRS SMALL DOG BISCUITS ON KITCHEN FLOOR .2 GLASSES IN CUPBOARD WITH DRIED MILK IN BOTTOM OF THE GLASS.BUT ITS WORTH ANOTHER VISIT.

Hi just a few suggestions the condiments like tea & coffee but no sugar, IN the bathroom the shower needs looking at u think u have turned it off then after a while it starts dripping good job the doors were closed,the water would have gone on the bathroom floor.

A very well presented lodge with all the essentials supplied.

The welcome pack(treats) were welcome well. The overall presentation of the lodge was superb. The bedrooms were very nice and comfy. We were amazed at how good the wifi was also when we needed it. Everything you need and don’t think you did need was supplied absolutely outstanding. As a family the lodge and its location was outstanding! would highly recommend this lodge. There are lots of places around to visit. but when you come back after a busy day to such a lovely lodge makes it feel like home from home.

Lovely lodge enjoyed our stay only nibble was the tv over the bath does not work the wife was looking forward to bathing in front of the tv and was disappointed it was not working.

The keycode given for the pedestrian gate does not work we had to reach round and press the button to open it. Overall great lodge and definitely will stay again

Great property

On Thursday 9th November 2023 at approximately 10.

15pm there was a power cut, which lasted until 11.15am on Friday 10th November 2023. During those 12 hours, apart from obviously having no lighting, we had no heating, no hot water and no means with which to make a hot drink. There was a torch in the lodge but the batteries were flat. As it was November, the lodge was freezing. We went up to the Reception area on Friday morning to speak to someone and there was no one there. We didn’t hear anything at all from the site owners/staff regarding what was happening and when the electricity was likely to be switched back on. We had to ring the energy provider, Northern Powergrid to find out what the situation was. I’m afraid this is totally unacceptable. We should have been kept informed. I am now looking to you for compensation for the time we were without electricity, as you did not provide basic amenities, as specified in your holiday details, for 12 hours.

We had a lovely, relaxing week staying in Rockpool Retreat - a warm, welcoming, comfortable, spacious & light lodge, with everything we needed for a home from home.

The site was wonderfully peaceful & a great base from which to explore the many beaches of the North Yorkshire coast with our cocker spaniel. Thank you for having us!

Rockpool Retreat is a beautiful lodge with absolutely everything you could possibly need during your stay.

Very spacious and lovely finishing touches make it a homely place to be. The welcome pack was so generous with essentials like bread and milk and then lots of yummy treats. Thank you so much, we really enjoyed our break, just wish we could have stayed longer!

The chalet was stunning we loved it.

Lovely location and what a lovely touch being provided with a hamper of goodies when we arrived. Would highly recommend the property you won’t be disappointed and we would definitely stay again.

Cottage had everything that was needed.

Very clean and airy as only the two of us. Thank you for lovely gift for the start of our holiday. It was very much appreciated. Lovely location we felt very safe with having the gate entry and good to be able to park next to cottage that’s a big thing these days. Had some lovely meals out in the area. Great for walking along coastal path. All in all a very pleasant holiday and would definitely return.

Outstanding lodge everything about it is fantastic.

Location is perfect for walks down to Runswick Bay. The welcome hamper was fantastic and all the extra touches around the lodge for us to use so we can begin our holiday straight away. The only thing we could have used was an extra key as our family at times wanted to go separate places but couldn’t if the other went out earlier and had the key. The parking permit is a lovely thing but wasn’t sure where or how to use this, it would be very useful if instructions were added to the information folder and much appreciated for those who don’t understand how they work. The lodge was so clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated throughout. Please don’t take the two things above as a negative it would just have been even better for our stay. Anyone considering this beautiful lodge won’t be disappointed. Didn’t want to come home it was that relaxing. Lots of thoughtful touches from the owners throughout the lodge. Just love it all.

Could not be better absolutely fantastic stay Décor very nice although I did get earache from the wife about the length of the curtains as she couldn’t hang them properly.

Amazing place to stay.

Really clean.Had a lovely welcome pack with treats for us and our dog.It had all the facilities you needed.Just as good as a five star hotel.Quiet area.Easily accessible to all the nearby seaside towns.Some nice walks nearby for the dog.Thank you to the owners for providing a place to chill and enjoy a great break.

Every convenience included . We had a lovely four nights . Secluded spot in beautifully planned small site . Lovely and clean, some treats left. Thank you so much . I would definitely book again.

Had a wonderful stay.

So much so we have booked again in same. Park. Lodge was spotless and very well equiped. Everything catered for. My only concern is that the furniture has a "doggy" odour. It did not stop us from thoroughly enjoying our stay. Thankyou to your housekeeper for maintaining a very high standard. Please pass that on. Thankyou

This was our first time here,and it was so peaceful and quiet, the lodge was one of the best we have stayed in, it had everything you could ask for and more.

The welcome pack was lovely even treats for our fur babies.we even had our bedding and towels changed as we were there for 2 weeks which was lovely. Bed was really comfy Lodge was spotless could not fault it will be back for sure thank you very much.

The lodge was excellent, having stayed on the park before we knew what to expect.

I was nervous with the cream carpet with a dog in Feb but weather was excellent and I think all was good. Maybe better instructions on how to find the lodge, it was dark when we arrived and didn't know if it was the 1st or 2nd gate apologies if its something we missed in the correspondence. Overall brilliant lodge, excellent area and I'm sure not long before we are back again.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable few days at Rockpool Retreat.

The site is easy to find and first impressions are excellent. Being low season we were only one of two occupied lodges so it was wonderfully quiet. The lodge itself is well equipped and comfortable and there was a nice welcome basket provided on arrival with the basics. Our first impression was actually, this actually looks better than the pictures! Our only criticism is that the master en-suite bedroom has a full height window and ridiculously thin curtains, they may as well have not been there for how useful they are. A black out blind or a thick thermal curtain would make a huge difference. The local area is nice, it's a tiny village though and given it's location it's very seasonal. When we went the local pubs/restaurants/take aways and even those in the next village were closed outside Friday/Weekend so keep that in mind if your intention is to go out. Runswick Bay itself is a very pretty little area, there is a road down to the beach but unless you're comfortable with walking up VERY steep hills, take the car down there. We stayed with our dog and the site is really well located for going on nice walks. If you go outside the gates and turn right you are very quickly into open fields and you have access to the Cleveland Way foo path that can take you for miles in either direction, aside from a few walkers we didn't see another soul. There is an Aldi/Lidl/Asda all within a 15 minute or so drive and slightly closer there's a BP garage near scaling dam with a really well stocked shop attached. We'll definitely be returning, would be nice to be able to make use of the provided BBQ next time!

Lovely lodge, comfortable homely and cosy with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday.

Included extensive welcome box with choc treats for the children as well as essentials. Quiet, small site with ample parking and enclosed veranda. Ideally located for cliff walks and the beach at Runswick where the children spent hours looking for fossils. Would definitely return.

Second time booking this property and the standard of cleanliness remains high.

So clean and comfortable. Quiet location. The welcome basket and bag was a lovely touch. Ideally located for coast and moors. 5 stars from 3 generation of my family. Runswick Bay is stunning and completely dog friendly as are most places. I would highly recommend local restaurant in nearby village Ellerby.

Lovely place to stay, very quiet, no problems with parking, would recommend staying here.

A really lovely and welcoming place.

Thank you for the welcome basket which was a lovely surprise. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. The only thing I would change is the curtains in the bedrooms-they were far too thin and let so much light in it woke us all up early. Also we couldn't get the TV in the bathroom to display any channels.

We have stayed in this property before and was again very pleased with level of cleanliness.

The park itself is very well maintained and very quiet. Dissapointed that this property is no longer available for rent.
