Bluebell Lodge

A peaceful, comfortable cottage.

The cottage was very clean and we had all we needed for our stay. In a lovely country location. Our little dog enjoyed walking round the green and meeting new friends from the other cottages. We were very comfortable here and the shops were very close by. We have booked to come back here again next year.

The cabin is set in beautiful grounds and the cleanliness was of a good standard .

Everything was as it should be , comfortable enough seating and beds . From this point of view you couldn’t ask for much more . There are a couple of minor problems for me personally. First is the WIFI isn’t great and if like me you had a 7 year old who likes his tv and his Nintendo and it keeps dropping out then it’s annoying. The second thing is because of its location you can’t walk anywhere. The car is needed for everything . You can walk around the grounds but that’s it . These are minor gripes as the actual cabin is nice .

Bluebell lodge was well equipped,clean and comfortable we had a lovely relaxing time it was so quiet and the surroundings was beautiful a fabulous place to go and we can highly recommend you go for a stay there you won’t be disappointed.

Could not get any Wi-Fi

Well, our first time in Bluebell Lodge and what a great lodge it is.

Suited our purpose exactly. We all loved our week in the lodge and its gorgeous view and surroundings. We even had mother and baby peacocks visiting most days. The lodge was clean and had everything we needed. The welcome pack was particularly pleasing. Subject to age and health issues we would love to return.

Stayed here before, lodge is clean, welcome pack on arrival.

Shower is hot and powerful, beds are comfortable and again fresh and clean. Good communication, with all details regarding arrival instructions. Supermarkets and restaurant within a 5 minute drive. Good base if you want to explore the local areas.

Our second stay at Bluebell lodge, and again was so relaxing.

Lovely accomodation and great surroundings. Easy access to lots of local amenities. We are going again in April 2024.

We arrived in dark having travelled through storm babet.

We found rushpool hall, but couldn't find the cabins. We called at hotel reception who didn't know there were cabins. After driving around the grounds for an hour, we called at the private house who helped us. But then which cabin. We had to get out and check each cabin until we found bluebell as no cabins had clear or light up signs. In fact the name plates were on the side of the cabins not the front. Also we were given no telephone number and felt abandoned. The owners need to have a sign erected on the road to the cabins. When we visited you could not see a road as it was covered in leaves. Also put clear name plates on the front of the cabins and have them light up. Also visitors should be provided with a plan of the grounds and the cabins so they can be located easily. This all happened in pouring rain.

Need to clean under beds and sofa, we had reason to move both and muck underneath, found sock with a load of dust attached.

Would have been a great help to have a grab rail by the door to make the property more accessible.

Bluebell Lodge has everything you need for a lovely stay.

It's clean and well equipped. The environment is gorgeous with lovely walks by the river and through the woods. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Saltburn is a lovely seaside town. (Don't publish this - the photos of the lodge show towels on the beds but in the list of what is included ie linen, towels are not on the list so we took our own but needn't have done.)

Tv wouldn't work at first but found airiel not connected was ok after l fixed it overall comfortable stay good location handy for shops and pubs can recommend

Very clean and comfortable. Easy access for getting around the north east. Would definitely recommend.

We had a decent weeks stay at Bluebell Lodge.

The cabin was lovely and clean and the welcome basket was very useful. The grounds are well kept and lovely to stroll around. We appreciated the new settee and chair they were really comfy, but found the beds a bit hard for our taste.

We had a miner problem which was sorted out promptly without any issues The location is very good close to the sea front near shops and supermarket's and pubs for food and drink The surroundings are very well maintained in a nice quiet area ideal for sitting outside with a drink The log cabins are very well presented and have everything you need to enjoy your stay

Great location, nice and quiet.

Might be nice to have an option for the second bedroom to have twin beds. The holiday home really needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. Dust and cobwebs could easily have been dealt with. Rambling peacocks added a certain quaintness.

People need to be aware of the peacocks in the grounds of the lodges.

The man opposite feeds them so they are present all day /night can disturb your sleep as on the roof so early wake up at 5am. Otherwise very pleasant stay.

One double bed not very good, other bed fine.

Could do with handrail in shower. T.V. reception not great. Loved the setting and had an enjoyable holiday.

Great Lodge in a peaceful and tranquil location ideally situated for the local beach and nearby shops and pubs

Lovely situation and very clean and comfortable.

Welcome hamper was a lovely surprise. Grounds perfect for walking our little dog and visiting peacocks provided much amusement. Lots of wildlife including, squirrels, rabbits, ducks and even a fox. Great to sit on our terrace, which caught the sun all day, and watch the animals. Only 5 mins to Aldi and Asda. We took cushions and rugs/blankets as Covid meant not provided. Marske is a lovely village with a great beach only 5 mins drive away. Although there is a lovely bathroom there are no bars in the walk in shower so my disabled husband could not use it.

A lovely touch with the welcome goodies, the wine was particularly nice.

We love the area and the grounds surrounding the lodges are beautiful. The cabin was very clean and everything was really well organised and we didnt have a problem. A welcome pack was waiting for us on arrival. If I had one criticism it would be that the sofas in the lounge are not back friendly and I cant seem to get comfy.

Spot on place to stay.

Will go back there again.

Accomodation clean and modern.

This lodge is set in the beautiful grounds to Rushpool Hall.

The peace and tranquility was so refreshing morning ad evening walks around the grounds and through the woods enhanced everything. The lodge was clean and comfortable no complaints however the bedding seemed a little old but no worries just an observation. A perfect little break enhanced by a proms evening held in the hall. It was lovely to see all the young students celebrating with no noise or fuss it seemed a well organised event. Our first visit to both the lodge and Saltburn we weren’t disappointed and I know we’ll be back

A lovely peaceful place - the only noise was from a gorgeous peacock which enhanced the stay.

Good accommodation and well kitted out. A bottle of locally produced Skinningrove Wine was a welcome touch. The only things that needed attention were a fridge in dire need of defrosting and provision of a recycling bin alongside the rubbish bin. I would certainly stay here again.

A peaceful and quiet location which was ideal for the dogs.

We had a wonderful weekend break in Bluebell Lodge.

It was warm, cosy and well appointed. The grounds were spectacular with a wide variety of wildlife to watch. The only thing I would like to see updated on your site is that you cannot walk into Saltburn-By-The-Sea or to a pub/shop. I love walking and enjoy exploring on foot but it was impossible to cross the beck and the roads were fast with no footpaths.

Situated in a lovely location, the property gives you all that you need very comfortable .

The property is set in lovely woodlands and is easy to get to other locations to explore Yorkshire . Had a brilliant time

A few issues need addressing: Internet was very poor most often unavailable, we asked them to reboot a number of times but this didn’t improve issue.

Cracked dishes. Sharp knives NOT sharp - unable to cut anything with them. The outside appearance of the cabin was dirty and full of cobwebs, leaves, dirt. The back door once opened was encased with what looked like years of dirt and grime. Welcome bottle of wine, dog treats and small amount of coffee/tea sachets was a nice touch.

A beautiful setting and perfect for our young puppy.

When returning the keys at Rushpool Hall, there is nowhere to leave them, you have to wait until the Receptionist arrives at 9am.

This was awkward as we did want leave the site by 8.15am. Perhaps they should have a key box outside so you can drop the keys into when leaving the site.

Rushpool Hall is majestic especially at night when illuminated.

The lodge was excellent but I was disappointed that the wifi setting was unsecure. I mentioned this to the receptionist who said she would follow up on my comment. Our stay was very relaxing & our dog enjoyed the woods, especially in the snow We would certainly recommend Bluebell Lodge

The location and property were lovely.

Unfortunately on our arrival we could smell a 'drain' like smell in both the utility room and second bedroom. The morning after (due to the increasing smell , children complaining of it etc) we reported this to Rushpool hall, the receptionist informed us that there had been problems with this lodge before (why was it not rectified before our arrival?) Their maintenance man ' Rob' was very prompt and tried hard to sort the problem and sent follow up texts to check how things were. I also reported it to yourselves (Sykes) I was told I would receive a call back which we did, to inform us you couldn't contact the owner. We received no more calls from Sykes which was disappointing. The smell subsided but remained throughout our stay, we were offered a replacement chalet of a much lower standard by the staff at Rushpool. We also woke to no heating/ hot water part way through our stay, Rob was again prompt to sort this problem. We were lucky to have family staying in Snowdrop so were able to eat there to elevate having to sit in the smell. We'd appreciate a prompt response and some reasonable compensation. The cottage was to a very high standard and was in a beautiful quiet location.

The local walks around the ground were excellent. Would definitely recommend it and will stay again

We really enjoyed our stay and it was good value for money but we did feel that the kitchen area needed a little tlc The oven was really dirty and I didn't look in the microwave but I took my own pans after reading an earlier review so I wasn't to shocked but this would make a lot of difference if the oven was cleaned

Slightly annoyed that we had to wash crockery from the cupboards.

Frying pan was unusable, burnt on substance. Good bottle of wine provided helped.!

Perfect location, great for wildlife.

Easy to travel to other locations. The cottage was well equipped and clean. The family didn't want to leave. We will wanting to rebook again in the future.

What a lovely lodge set in the beautiful setting of Rushpool Hall grounds!

The Lodge was very cosy and surprisingly big with two bedrooms a large bathroom,kitchen and lounge!All clean and tidy upon arrival!The grounds are stunning and we enjoyed the local wildlife such a peacocks and ducks!The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble!We will be booking again very soon for next year!! x x
