Sheep Cote Shepherds Hut

We had a lovely stay at Sheep Cote.

It was a great place to get away and escape. The Shepherds hut was very well equipped and comfortable and a great place to return to after a days hiking. Thank you to the owner who was very friendly and helpful from start to finish. We look forward to our next visit and would recommend Sheep Cote to anyone who is looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

Accommodation was just what I expected and needed for a total chill out time.

Host Robert was very nice and very helpful. Everything that is needed for a perfect break was there in the Sheep Cote. Hope to be able to return.

The Shepherd's Hut is compact, comfortable and well equipped.

Robert, the owner while running a working farm, takes time to ensure that guests are comfortable. The peaceful views across Raysdale and over into Bilsdale are truly outstanding. It is a pleasure just to sit and soak in the tranquility, broken only by the occasional. bleating of sheep. There are plenty of good places to eat in the local area. The North Yorkshire coast and lovely local towns and villages can be reached within a half hour drive.

Idyllic peaceful location , quality accomodation which was exceptionally well thought through, with everything you would need .

The host was welcoming and helpful . Excellent walks from the door , with plenty of things to see and do in the area.

This was the first time we had stayed in a shepherds hut and we were very impressed.

The hut is very comfortable and you can tell the owners have put a lot of thought and love into making it a very special place, they have thought of everything you might need. The setting is perfect, wonderful views, so peaceful and it’s great for spotting wildlife. We would definitely recommend it.

We had such a lovely stay at the shepherds hut.

The views were absolutely stunning, it was so peaceful and relaxing. The bed was huge and we slept so well every night! Robert was a great host and made us feel really welcome. The shepherds hut had everything we needed and was finished to an exceptional standard. We especially loved all the thoughtful details throughout and a surprisingly big bathroom was a luxury. And of course, the views again were just incredible. We would definitely stay again!

Lovely location.

Beautiful setting. This cosy hut has everything you would need for a relaxing time away. Waking up to stunning views never get’s tiring. You are ideally placed and easy driving distance from the moors and coast. Perfect place for switching off.

We thought the shepherd's hut was superb and don't have any improvements to suggest.

Really gorgeous cabin, stunning view, very comfortable bed and so many walks just outside the door.

Feels very special on the farm. The electric heater was perfect for the winter but it would also be such a lovely place to stay in the summer. It has all the tools you'd need for a short stay and the hosts are very helpful.

Self-contained cosy cabin with beautiful views.

Kitchen well stocked with essentials, just need to bring ingredients to cook. Huge bathroom. Lovely host who welcomed us to ensure we're in the right place. Had the best New Year's day celebration. Would definitely come back.

The hut is done out beautifully and is warm and cosy even in winter. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Paul.

The hut was absolutely perfect, really can’t fault a thing.

Great that the sheep farm is all happening in the fields around too, this and the veiw is so lovely. Set on the hill side, so looking down and round from your own space is idilic. Robert is the best host and ensured everything was how it should be for a relaxing and comfortable break. Top stay

We cannot fault the Sheep Cote Shepherds Hut.

Stunning area, views, comfortable accommodation. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and happy to help. They were so happy to chat about the farm and animals, which we loved. The accommodation was spotless. Will definitely revisit.

For us it was just amazing.

From the host, the accommodation, the views and the sheep plus some assorted wildlife it was perfect. Oh and not forgetting resident dog Trixie who was a joy. It was the most peaceful place we have stayed and can't wait to return.

Very nice place to relax and have good hoiday

Sheep Cote Shepherds Hut was a perfect base for my short walking holiday in the North York Moors.

The walking trails into magnificent countryside begin at the door. The hut is incredibly comfortable and kitted out with everything you would expect in a cottage. Robert is a very welcoming host. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I get the opportunity. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time here.

We have stayed in a few of these but this was by far the best one. It's very well equipped and comfortable. We had a very warm welcome from Rob the owner, being a working Sheep farm might put some people off, but we really enjoyed watching and learning a few things about it we didn't know before. It is a stunning place with an amazing view and this won't be our last visit here.

Having stayed in a few shepherds huts this possibly is the best yet.

Perfect in every way. Wonderful location ideal for walkers and if you prefer just sitting looking at the views . Rob and Jo are great hosts.

The Shepherds Hut is a fantastic place to stay.

It’s very cleverly laid out with everything you need. The view is amazing and it’s so peaceful. Lots to do nearby including some lovely walks on the moors, great market towns and lots of tourist attractions. The hosts are very welcoming, generous and kind. We couldn’t fault our stay and it exceeded our expectations having not stayed in this type of property before. We stayed for a weekend but would love to stay again and for longer as it’s such a beautiful place. Thank you for a truly lovely stay.

The shepherds hut is absolutely stunning with everything you need provided and Rob & Jo are such lovely hosts. A lovely base for exploring the surrounding countryside and villages. Would definitely love to return. Absolutely value for money.

Immaculate and cosy accommodation. This brand new hut was absolutely spotless in a beautiful location with every need catered for including the lovely welcome basket on arrival. It was beautifully designed, and decorated to a very high standard. Our hosts were very welcoming and we will definitely be returning soon. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Sheep Cote Shepherd's Hut is a hidden gem.

The place is absolutely wonderful, very cosy, with everything you need, its own bathroom and an amazing view of the Yorkshire moors. The place is a little piece of heaven, quiet and peaceful, in a very well situated area in the North York Moors from where you can walk, visit, or just enjoy life staying at the hut. Jo and Rob are great hosts and give you a very warm welcome (and seeing the life of the sheep farm is an additional bonus). Not one bad thing to say about this stay. Best booking experience ever, and we will definitely go back !

What a beautiful place to stay set right in the heart of the countryside.

The views from the front door are breathtaking and from the garden you can watch the sheep in the fields next door. We relaxed from the minute we arrived. The hut is well equipped for self catering and the hosts had left us a lovely goodie bag on arrival. Would highly recommend this little gem.
