The property

Honeysuckle Lodge sits above the river in the historic market town of Knaresborough, offering a refined retreat for couples seeking a slower pace and a change of scenery.

Positioned on the first floor, this thoughtfully designed hideaway makes the most of its elevated setting, with leafy views that shift beautifully through the seasons and a sense of privacy from the moment you step inside.

The studio-style layout is light-filled and well arranged, with a striking glass roof lantern drawing daylight into the heart of the space.

A king-size bed anchors the room, perfect for lazy mornings, while a comfortable seating area invites you to relax with a film on the large Smart TV after a day exploring.

The neatly tucked-away kitchenette is ideal for relaxed breakfasts or evening drinks, complete with a coffee machine for an unhurried start to the day.

A sleek shower room sits alongside, offering a refreshing end to long walks or sightseeing adventures.

Outside, a generous decked terrace provides a peaceful spot to enjoy a book or dine in the fresh air, surrounded by birdsong and woodland views.

It’s the kind of space that encourages you to linger, whether over morning coffee or a quiet glass of wine as the light fades.

Knaresborough itself is a delight to explore on foot, with cobbled streets, independent shops, and inviting cafés all close at hand.

A gentle stroll leads to the riverside, where rowing boats glide beneath the dramatic viaduct and waterside pubs offer a welcoming pause.

Further afield, Harrogate’s elegant gardens and tea rooms are easily reached by car, while York’s historic streets promise a memorable day out.

For those who love the outdoors, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales opens up a world of scenic drives and rewarding walks.

Honeysuckle Lodge is a calm, inviting base, perfectly placed for enjoying the character, history, and countryside of North Yorkshire at your own pace.

About the location

KNARESBOROUGH

Harrogate 2 miles; York 18 miles.

Knaresborough is an ancient market and Spa town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking the River Nidd, and is one of the prettiest towns in North Yorkshire. Its location makes it ideal as a base for touring the stunning countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. For lovers of history, St John’s Church, Knaresborough House and the now-ruined Knaresborough Castle were built by the Normans in around 1100 AD. Other attractions in the town include Mother Shipton’s petrifying well, the Courthouse Museum, "Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe in England" which dates back to 1720 and the quirky House in the Rock. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy wonderful walks by the river, cycling, climbing, fishing, boating or just sitting and taking in the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The town centre has many interesting shops and galleries, and there is a colourful and lively market held on Wednesdays. The fascinating, historic cathedral cities of Ripon and York are close by, as are the Spa town of Harrogate, the great stately homes of Castle Howard and Harewood House, the Cistercian Abbeys of Fountains, Rievaulx and Jervaulx, and the castles of Middleham, Bolton and Richmond.
