The property

Skylarks is a superb, luxury lodge on the popular and beautiful Black Isle north of Inverness. The position of the house is just perfect; not too far away from the routes north, south, east and west for easy touring yet an idyllic, peaceful retreat for those looking to just relax, listen to the birds, take long woodland walks and return to relax in the spacious new barrel sauna.

The view from the sauna through the one way curved window is amazing and will allow for the most rejuvenating end to any days activity or even more spectacular, watch the Northern Lights in winter from this perfect vantage point. Regardless of time of year, the warmth and comfort of this beautiful house will wrap itself around you and ensure that you can truly relax and escape. The Black Isle is a fascinating peninsula which well rewards exploration from the most easterly tip where the historic town of Cromarty sits, offering excellent dining opportunities, a beach, headland walks and dolphin boat trips in season, through to the western part which connects to the major roads going north and south giving you the opportunity to quickly head to Dornoch and the north, Ullapool and the west or Aviemore and the Cairngorms to the south. Despite its perfect location for touring, we do recommend that you consider just enjoying this timeless area of the Black Isle and all it will bring to you, most of all peace and quiet and an absorption in the natural world.

The garden is planted with native trees, gorse and wildflowers.

About the location

DINGWALL

Strathpeffer 5 miles; Inverness 14 miles; Chanory Point 17 miles.

The attractive market town of Dingwall is situated at the head of the Cromarty Firth and has a rich history dating back to Norse times. The town today enjoys an excellent range of services and facilities, and its pedestrianised main street boasts a generous range of speciality cafes and charming small shops. Why not follow the Dingwall Heritage Trail, a walk that will take only 1 1/2 hours but will provide a wonderful insight into the history of this area? Close to Dingwall is the Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer, which is well worth a visit, or perhaps take a short drive to Chanonry Point where the Moray Firth Dolphins are quite often seen jumping close to shore. There is also the option of seeing red kites at the RSPB Tollie red kites natural reserve, as well as a close proximity to Inverness that allows day trips to Inverness Castle, trampoline park, Inverness Botanic gardens and the many shops on offer.

Note: Linen for travel cot is available on request. Note: Though electricity is included in the rent, electric for charging cars is not included in the rental.
