Beautiful cottage snuggled in the Northumbrian hills.

The journey down the 1 mile track was a joyful experience shared with sheep and lambs. Spotlessly clean, all the amenities in the kitchen, a wonderful stay. 2 suggestions: 1) don't suggest logs from Otterburn, yours were much better at burning and better value for money 2) instructions to find the electric gate not massively clear, perhaps add it,s set back off the road, a couple of hundred yards from the pub and opposite the old chapel. Other than that a fabulous stay, thank you

A perfect retreat from the hussle and bussle of life.

This is one of the nicest holiday homes we have stayed in.

Clean, spacious, comfortable and perfectly equipped. Even the bedding and towels smelt lovely! Washing machine and line to hang washing out was really helpful. So peaceful and sitting out watching the starts was special, chiminea was lovely to have. You can’t let your dog off lead in the garden but they have a steak and longline to tie them to. Tv with Netflix and loads of games to play in the evening. The location is gorgeous and a visit to Kielder Water and forest is a must. Would 100% recommend for a get away from it all break.

The place was amazing in every respect.

Clean, very comfortable and quiet. Though the listing does not mention this.... Crag Lodge is a great place to stargaze from. The hosy was very amenable to helping with this and also assisted when I needed some other help too.

Lovely property, very well finished, warm and has all the amenities you'd need.

It was easy to cook everything we wanted to for the whole week (and it's not often I can say this). Beautiful surroundings and easy enough to get to local points of interest. Only possible improvement / consideration is that the bed is a bit small. I'm 5'11 and just about fit in it, and so anyone over 6ft may struggle. We had a great time and would happily stay again and/or recommend.

What a beautiful place to say!

It was perfect. Clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. Really useful having the utility room with washing machine. Only slight criticism - the bed upstairs wasn't the comfiest. We loved the location - quiet and remote but not too far from civilization. The pub nearby was really cosy and super friendly. Definitely worth a second visit!

Fantastic barn conversion, brilliant log burner

This fantastic cottage was a lovely place to stay, extremely well equipped and well presented.

We had a perfect week in Northumberland and this cottage served as a fantastic spot for our days out and activities. The cottage has a home away from home feeling and Chris and Charlotte are on hand next door if you need anything.

The accommodation was excellent, it's very comfortable and had everything we needed.

The location is idyllic with easy access to all the locations we wanted to visit, including the coastal areas like Lindisfarne and Bamburgh etc. I would return, and do highly recommend this property.

Good holiday accommodation.

The cottage is in an absolutely amazing location, it was stunning.

We appreciated the little touches like the vast array of board games, with the damp weather this was great, and there was milk in the fridge when we arrived. However, it is getting very tired and needs updating. There was loads of cracks and paint issues which just let the property down. The cleanliness was not what we were expecting, I had to clean the bathroom myself before been able to use the facilities which was not what I was wanting on a relaxing staycation for a special occasion. I had to clean black mould from around the bath, this is not something that should have been missed. The beds were not comfy at all, we could feel every spring in the bed and we genuinely considered if it would have been better sleeping on the sofa. This felt to have put a downer on the stay. The emergency lighting did not turn off on a night which was distracting for myself, and there were no blinds on two of the windows. I do appreciate that they are high windows, but we have the same at home and have remote control blinds which are simple and effective. I do feel as though this cottage has potential to be an absolutely amazing stay.

The place was spotless. Everything you could need.

The property, with courtyard and gardens for us to use was better than expected.

The photos certainly don’t do the outside space any justice, it’s beautiful. It was the perfect stay for us and the enclosed courtyard was great for the dogs. The lodge has everything you need. Would definitely book again.

We had an amazing week.

Weather was pretty good but on the very wet stormy day the lodge provided home from home comfort. We had everything we needed for us and our dogs. The location was great, a peaceful getaway. The lodge was clean and a lovely environment. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Wonderful very clean cottage.

Set in beautiful surroundings off the beaten track. Chris and Charlotte the owners very welcoming and helpful sorting any problems straight away. Had everything we could possibly need!! Would highly recommend!!!

A great Lodge to explore Northumberland from.

Chris & Charlotte are lovely, friendly & helpful people. Lodge was well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Extremely clean & comfortable. It is isolated, but that is what we wanted - peace & tranquility. Dog friendly too! Night skies were amazing. Great couple of pubs nearby. We were touring the County using the Northumberland 250 route map & the Lodge is more or less in the middle of the route. We were able to visit so many famous landmarks from our "base". We will be returning.

Absolutely loved Cragg Lodge, if you are looking for remote with peace and quiet, stunning views and excellent facilities this one fits the bill!

This was a super holiday venue and we would recommend the location as it is quite central and gives easy access to so many activities.

We made great use of our National Trust and English Heritage memberships, as well as being able to explore the surrounding countryside on foot. We loved the peaceful setting, which was also great for stargazing. Whilst the property was well equipped there were a few things I would have liked available to me - Iron and ironing board, mop and bucket, and hot water bottles. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

The holiday was so relaxing.

The cottage is beautiful with great facilities. The location was amazing. And the fire really made it a wonderful stay. My daughter struggled to sleep As the beds are very creaky. Other than that it was perfect.

If you want rural, peace and quiet, surrounded by truly magnificent countryside, you must stay here. It’s absolutely breathtaking. Nearby are a friendly village shop and pub (great food) both within walking distance. I cannot wait to re visit and continue to explore. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. I loved my stay at this magnificent property in its unique location.

Lovely cottage in great location for exploring Northumberland.

Good facilities local to the area. The cottage itself had everything we needed for a pleasant stay with our two small dogs. The dark skies also gave us a good view of the northern lights. A small comment, hopefully taken as constructive, would be the installation of a couple a grab rails in the shower/bath area

A touch of luxury in a beautiful location The owners had thought of everything, the kitchen had everything you could need and more. It really a perfect little break.

A lovely comfortable property with new equipment and well furnished.

The host was very helpful when initially there was no hot water, calling out an electrician on Saturday afternoon who remedied the problem. A great location with views and privacy which is what we had sought.

The place was beautiful and loved the animals and views. Small things to note : WiFi and TV didn't work. Would have been helpful to have a guide to let you know what to do with rubbish/recycling, WiFi details etc. Also wasn't sure which parts of the garden we were ok to use as it wasn't separated from the next door.
