“Nice area for the holiday lodge however there were no facilities available on the site in terms of a meal or a drink.”

There was a direlict building/lodge on the site as you enter - not good a good look and doesn’t give a feel of comfort or excitement at staying on this site. Our lodge - The Barn Owl, was certainly not as described on your site or as in the pictures you promote for the lodge. The seating area at the back of the lodge had no roof and so sitting out was not an option there with the projected as pre offered in your literature. Sadly whoever stayed before us had not left the oven trays and tins in a clean condition, they were full of grease and oil and need throwing away. The wok is all burnt and rusty on the cooking surface and not fit to cook in. We had to wash up in a large pan as the sink plug is corroded and broken and would not seal to stop the water from running out of the sink. As per your photos again it was clear that the lounge/dining area had been updated at some point, however, the seating /sofa area definitely needs updating again, it was not the best place to sit and relax, very very worn and uncomfortable. In view of it not being as described on your website we do feel we should be financially reimbursed for part of this booking. If needed I can provide photographs of the outside space to back up this claim. Surely what you are promoting and advertising is your responsibility to make sure you are factually correct and in this instance you are not. I would not like to publish this feedback as I think the owners should be given the opportunity to put things right. However, in view of all the above, my booking was made with you and so I still feel we are due financial recompense, at this this point I would not recommend anyone book with Sykes.
