What guests are saying
Overall the holiday was fantastic- the lodge was lovely and peaceful, plenty of wildlife and some lovely walks - majority of walks were within a 10-20 minute drive of we wanted something longer.
Just a few downfalls where that it advertised a screen was available for outside - this was incorrect and this was no longer available. It also advertised a Restaurant and pub on site - again incorrect - the restaurant was closed and the pub only opened Wednesday to Sunday 5-9pm and only had 2 bottles of beer. (literally). We would 100% come back for sure but we do feel the lodge needed a few minor updates such as window in en-suite broken and would open. The hot tub lights didn’t work. We would recommend the lodge and the area though.
On first appearance the Lodge looked lovely, however once inside it was very clear no deep clean had been done after the last guests.
All mirrors, glass surfaces and windows were still heavily marked and dirty. The oven door was dirty and stained and the back splash still had grease on. I myself did a full clean before we could settle in. The bathroom door wouldnt open properly without considerable force and it just all seemed like there is very little upkeep of the property. One of the bathroom windows wouldnt open. A broken blind string. A faulty living room heater. We felt it was very disappointing for the cost of the week and some general maintenance and considerably better housekeeping needs to take place.
I felt that the cleaner could have been more thorough as there were urine splashes on rim of toilet, the sofa was very uncomfortable there were no tv instructions also living area has a very high ceiling and two small radiators were inadequate for the month of March a back up heater would have been good.
I think it was far too expensive..
