Our second time here, welcome pack was lovely, everything that was needed for our break.

Close to travel to Morpeth, Seahouses, Alnmouth, Alnwick, the coast and of course Cragside. The village shop stocks most things that you need but there is also a local Coop in Rothbury (don’t go into the Londis there though you get shouted at if you do not buy anything) and bigger supermarkets in both the local towns, we found the bed mattress quite uncomfortable but we are use to quite a firm mattress, the area around it is really lovely and everyone in the village is really friendly, I would definitely return

The lodge was perfectly adequate for our needs, it just lacked a little TLC.

For example the dead plants on the outdoor area and cobwebs all over the outside. However, the owners had left some milk, bread, eggs and washing up liquid which were an unexpected and thoughtful bonus!

The property was very comfortable and well equipped.

It was quiet with lovely views across the hills. However, we were very disappointed with the state of the nonstick pans, the coating was rough and not suitable for use. The oven trays were sticky with burnt food on them. The toaster had lots of toast crumbs on the tray and in the toaster too.
