Plot 18 Meadow View

Meadow View wasn't as comfortable as we would have liked.

The first impression we had when we arrived was two very tatty broken chairs outside the patio doors. Inside was reasonable and we found a welcome pack of biscuits, crisps, a few sachets of tea, coffee and sugar and a packet of doggy treats, there was also a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge but no milk which would have been nice as we were desperate for a cuppa. The seating was low and uncomfortable even though there were lots of cushions. There was a mishmash of cups and the glasses were cumbersome, smaller lightweight ones would have been better, definitely no plastic ones found for use outside in the hot tub as stated in the instructions provided but we didn't use the hot tub anyway so not a problem. We did mention to Mel when we saw her next day that there was no blind in the ensuite (I had to hang a doggy blanket up for modesty sake as although we were not fully overlooked, the window was still quite see through). The kitchen blind was also very obviously broken and somewhat grubby. There was a problem with the cistern in the second bathroom as it trickled water all the time and the loo had to be flushed often to stop it. This lodge was not up to the standards of the two previous lodges we have stayed in on Longdyke and we will not be returning to this one.

The property was very clean and in a lovely position on the site. A couple of small niggles - sofa was low and not overly comfortable. Both of the single mattresses we found a bit lumpy for adults, they may be more suitable for kids though. Nice welcome package on arrival. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We enjoyed our stay.

Arrival was a bit stressful as the postcode in the gps took us to the adjacent airfield lol, finding way around the site took a while to find the van as actually 2 seperate adjoined sites, but once settled soon got familiar. Nice van, very warm and cosy and location was great looking out over field (be aware its private, initially thought could be dog walking on it), lots of wildlife comes and goes,. rabbits, birds, grouse, deer,. Nice to sit in hot tub and relax and observe, though heard the field is ear marked for development, shame. Good location for visiting the many areas nearby. Good big Crazy Horse club over on the other site,. short walk, though be aware its mini shop in the foyer is sparsely stocked essentials only and toys. Van has 2 bathrooms with showers,.one is en suite,.nice. The van has totally enclosed decking so dogs / kids can safely go out the van. Small close by lake in other site is very nice for dog walk though keep on lead,. Swans, ducks, Canadian geese and chicks abound. All in all we had a nice time, 3 adults and one small dog. Recommended!

I’ll start with the positives: there was a nice welcome pack for both people and their four-legged friends; the property itself sits in one of the best locations on the site meaning it was quiet and relatively private with a view across a field which in the evening deer visit; and when we had a query we had a response from the number provided really quickly, with things sorted the next day.

But, it’s a shame to have to say that there are downsides to this property too. The radiators in both bathrooms were unusable given the amount of rust on them and both showers had mould around a lot of the seals at the bottom - this created a mildew smell in the ensuite bathroom which you could smell in the main bathroom if you left the door open. The door itself didn’t close without force which meant it wasn’t usable in the night without disturbing others. The bed was also uncomfortable to sleep on and the thin mattress protector on top did little to help.

The photos on the website were obviously taken some time ago, before the smart settee was covered with a mismatch of cushions and throws.

The radiators in the shower rooms were rusted beyond repair. The oven desperately needed a deep clean, and we wouldn't use the microwave for the same reason. The freezer drawers were jammed due to packed ice at the back of the freezer. I wish I hadn't stripped the bed as instructed, then I wouldn't have seen the stains on the mattress protecor.

Lovely property on a quiet site.

Really well positioned with meadow views. Internet issues were quickly resolved with the owner. Local village 2 miles away. Great pub and fabulous cafe with homemade deserts/cakes. Will be back for another visit.

Good property and we’d stay again.

Had a few problems early on, power failure, wifi down, gutter leak, but all were dealt with incredible promptly and with a great urgency. The local rep Mel was superb. The property is lovely in a good location. We will be back

Lovely holiday home, we had such a relaxing time.

Normally on uk breaks we come home early, we didn’t hear!! The hot tub was a brilliant feature. The beds were so comfy, very clean. We aren’t pet owners but found the place didn’t smell of dog which was very nice as normally welcomed pet places do!, brilliant extra facilities and a lovely welcome hamper. Thank you :) I messaged the owner while we were here and he responded quickly and efficiently too! Great location to get to everywhere in Northumberland too!

Lovely welcome, super comfy bed, we all loved the hot tub especially the kiddos.

Approx 25 mins to anywhere we went inc Metro Centre, Lilidorei, trampoline park and Asda. Would visit again in a heartbeat- kids wanted to stay for a month :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and will most definitely be returning.

The lodge was clean, had a great spacious hot tub and there was all the facilities we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend to family and friends!

We had a lovely stay at Meadow View.

It’s in a great location for getting around places in the area. The Lodge was well equipped, and even had Netflix (not that we watched it much!), as when we weren’t out, we were in the hot tub overlooking the fields (saw deer one night). We sat on the decking a couple of nights watching the lovely sunset! The park is quiet and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Great weekend stay .

Lodge spacious and clean! Good having the two shower facilities. Lovely touch with the welcome hamper ! Ideal location and beaches very easy to get to and lovely dog friendly pubs ! Highly recommend

Loved the location of the lodge, layout and the placement of the hot tub, great to sit out and watch all the wild life in the fields infront.

Amazing location to sit out, definitely the best location of the whole park, however we was slightly uncomfy as their was only 3 outdoor cushions , and it was quite dark as most of the lights didn’t work. Also the beds were very uncomfy, would definitely benefit from a mattress topper, we had to put the spare quilt ontop as it was very uncomfy . Love that the outdoor decking area is enclosed for our dog , he loved to lay on it in the sun. Thank you for the welcome snacks , very thoughtful!

Lovely part of the country.

Nice touches such as bottle of fizz , coffe and tea sachets and treats. Bed uncomfortable would benefit from a thick mattress topper. Half of the outside lights not working. Lovely hot tub. Would benefit from a privacy screen around hot tub .

Stunning little place to stay, spotlessly clean and the homely touches were lovely.

We had helo via a number if needed and were provided with a few items we thought we would need to bring e.g tea towels and washing up liquid. We were even welcomed with prosecco. The only thing that let ut down slightly was the main bed. We are tall so our feet dangled off the end of the bed and it wasn't the most comfortable nights sleep but everything g else was perfect.

Lovely lodge, banners, balloons, couple bottles of fizz, chocolates and a lovely card from Claire & Tony there on arrival. Lodge Is exactly as described. Fabulous hot tub at back of lodge with fairy lights which is lovely to sit and watch the stars. Position on the park in my opinion is the best, due to being so quiet and private with unbroken views. Already tried to immediately rebook for New Year but unavailable as already booked, but we will most definitely be back. Thank you. Xx

The property was very nice and even better than what I expected.

Me and my partner were very pleased with our stay and would love to stay again.

We recently stayed at Meadow View for a couple of weeks between 11th August and 25th August and had a fabulous time, the accommodation was clean and comfortable and just as described with pretty much everything we needed it to be, location great for visiting surrounding areas.

Owner Claire was extremely helpful and quickly responded to any queries or concerns we had, on one particular occasion we asked was there a hairdryer available to which she replied no but i can get one delivered to you no problem, that evening a delivery from Asda arrived with one and also some additional little goodies for us and the kids (Chocolates, sweets and a couple of bottles of Fizz) Would certainly recommend staying at Meadow View and if you have a dog its spot on as the external decking area is completely secure.

The property was absolutely fantastic.

This location is perfect for stargazing. I wouldn't recommend utilising public transport to get here due to the inconsistent bus schedules and the stop being quite far up the road with no obvious path to use. I will definitely aim to return here in future.

We really enjoyed staying at meadow view lodge which has a hot tub, the lodge was spotlessly clean with more or less everything you need for the stay, it’s very well located on the site with a big field behind it with wildlife on it, we saw deer, hares, and birds of prey, the lodge is ideally situated just off the A1 and ideal for visiting the beautiful towns and coast of Northumbria, would definitely recommend.

I’m going to start with the positives.

Hot tub was amazing. Really bubbly and perfect temperature. However we have stayed in lots of holiday lodges and we’re used to having the hot tub checked and wiped over daily. This happened twice during our stay. Outside area is also lovely and comfortable with beautiful views over the field. There was however a cushion pad missing from the outside sofa which would have left someone with no seat if there had been 4 of us staying. I let the property manager know this by text. The pressure and temp in the showers was the best I’ve ever had in a holiday lodge. However, there was no sieve, colander, corkscrew or cafetière in the kitchen. I couldn’t even make a pot of pasta as I couldn’t drain it. Even if there was a sieve or colander, there wasn’t a pot big enough to cook pasta. Given that this is a lodge for 4 people that’s not good news. Only 2 rings worked on the hob also. The couch in the living room was very uncomfortable and as a result I spent most of my time on the outside couch. That’s fine as we had good weather but if it rained I would have spent a lot of time on a very uncomfortable couch. The pillows in both bedrooms were wafer thin and the fact that the pillow slips were enormous made them feel and look even more flimsy. Considering that we spent over £1000 for seven days none of this is good enough and I hope the owner reads this and makes the necessary changes.
