    “We had an amazing stay, thank you so much.”

    The location was perfect and the cottage was in great condition. The welcome pack was also really welcome, especially the items for the dogs. The only thing that we felt was missing was some kitchen basics (cooking oil, salt and pepper) and maybe some more bathroom products (shower gel, shampoo). Most similar properties we have stayed in before had these available, so we did not think to bring them. This is the only negative bit of feedback we had however, and would still rate our stay ...

The property

Brown Owl is a fantastic eco log cabin set just metres away from the private beach belonging to Heather Cottages at Budle Bay near Bamburgh.

It is fitted out to a very high standard with all mod cons, and stands in its own garden with spectacular views of Lindisfarne and Budle Bay.

The coastline here is extremely popular with walkers, birdwatchers, kite and wind surfers alike and you are well placed for visits to Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Alnwick and Berwick. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Ramp to front door. Living/kitchen room open plan with log burner, TV/DVD, hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, doors to decked area. Utility room with washer/dryer, fridge/freezer. Bedroom 1 with twin beds. Bedroom 2 with king size bed, en suite shower, WC and basin. Bathroom with bath, shower, WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Enclosed patio garden with decking.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
