We enjoyed our week at Aurora Skies.

Cresswell has a beautiful beach, the walled garden in the village was beautiful, and there are lots of walks around the area. The cabin is very well equipped, Russ and Sue were lovely hosts, a special big thank you to Sue for the beautiful cake you made us for our wedding anniversary, it was delicious.

Our elderly dog loved the enclosed garden and the personal guided tour of the pele tower was fabulous. The welcome cake was much appreciated. A lovely spot close to the beach and a good base for exploring.

We had a wonderful stay, the lodge was warm and cosy and everything we needed was provided, even dressing gowns and slippers !

We couldn’t fault our stay ! Unfortunately the weather was stormy and we experienced lots of creaking and doors not closing, but we will return in the summer when everything is calmer ….

Stayed for Christmas ‘25 & throughly enjoyed our stay.

It was exactly what we needed - quiet and peaceful….& lovely & warm in the cabin. The accommodation has EVERYTHING - the owners have thought of everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable in the cabin & they were friendly & welcoming. Loved the cabin, loved the beach & the tour of Pele Tower & will book again.

Everything there we needed for our mini break. Enclosed garden meant our dog could potter about safely, privacy apart from the sparrow hawk who visited along with the pheasants:) which was great to see wandering in the garden. Lovely, welcoming and delicious cake for us on arrival. Northern lights amazing. Overall, yes we would recommend and return.

Excellent cottage in a wonderful position near the beach .

Ideally situated for exploring this beautiful county. The owners were very welcoming and had given careful consideration to the needs of guests providing all of the amenities we needed. Highly recommended.

A lovely cosy and well equipped little lodge.

Russ and Sue are perfect hosts very helpful and friendly, we really enjoyed the tour of the tower given by Russ. The accommodation is very comfortable with a safe fully enclosed garden for our puppy. Perfect location for long walks along a lovely beach. A very quiet and relaxing place to stay, we hope to be back again.

This really was a shed at the bottom of the garden.

Perfect for two people but definitely not a family. The decking outside was in need of replacing and the doors inside were badly warped so we were unable to close the bathroom door. The WiFi was none existent. The outside furniture needs replacing very tired.On the positive side the hosts were lovely and we were greeted with home made cake and given a tour of the monument opposite. The beach is amazing and a lovely ice-cream shop which are close by.

We had a great stay our hosts were very helpful letting us know where things were.

Fantastic stay and lovely people.

The cabin is beautifully maintained and in a completely enclosed private garden with every facility you could possibly need.

It is very warm and comfortable, like an home away from home. Russ and Sue are amazing hosts with great knowledge of the surrounding area, especially the Pele Tower which is directly opposite the accommodation. Cresswell beach and the famous Cresswell Ice cream shop is at the bottom of the street with lots of other attractions a short drive away. We can’t wait to book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Excellent little cabin and well equipped and furnished.

Very toasty stay and the owners were very welcoming leaving cake for our arrival. Russ was very happy to take us for a tour of the local Pele Tower which was fantastic. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

My sister and I always love staying in Aurora Skies so much so, this is our 4th visit with our little dogs!

Perfect little cabin in its own private, enclosed garden. Very well equipped kitchen having that all important dishwasher as well as washing machine. Ideal for walks along the miles of sand at Cresswell Beach towards the fabulous Drift Cafe that is dog friendly and offers great food. A great base to explore further afield if you wish. The owners, Russ and Sue extremely friendly and welcoming with delicious cake, milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us. Highly recommend this little gem and we certainly will return for visit number 5!

Hosts were lovely, very welcoming and friendly, on hand for anything we needed. We were treated to a lovely home-baked cake from Susan on arrival and a personal tour of the local Pele Tower and garden by Russ. Pretty little village beside the coast path and within easy distance of visitor attractions.

Could do with a bit more lighting in the kitchen area.

Otherwise a very clean, cosy and comfortable stay. Tour around the Pele Tower was an unexpected bonus

What a GEM the cottage was peacefull you could hear the sea the crashing waves it was amazing place ,everything was excellent quality the enclosed garden safe for the dog I couldn't fault a thing ,the host Sue and Russ was lovely and helpful they left you alone but was there if needed ,they left us two big slabs of victorian sponge cake (Delicious it was to ) the village of Cresswell was beautiful quiet and 100 mtrs to the beach what more could you want we would definitely stay there again amazing place ,

We loved our time at Aurora and found it very peaceful.

Cress well is a lovely place. We were so pleased to find our mutt was welcome and the garden was enclosed and safe for him to roam. Just a couple of little things we think would make a difference. One outside chair is broken and needs replacing. All the doors inside squeak terribly and need a little attention. The kitchen area could do with some brighter lighting. A washing line would be a nice addition. Nothing major to spoil the experience. Everything else was great and the hosts Were lovely. Would recommend Aurora Skies and revisit.

If you are looking for peace and quiet Aurora is the place set at the back of the main house it is very private with an enclosed garden and a very well equipped cottage, Sue and Russ make you very welcome and the homemade scones jam and cream on arrival where delightful.

The well equipped lodge is located in a quiet village 2 minutes walk from a lovely dog friendly beach.

It is set within an enclosed private garden accessed through the owners garden (not a private pathway as stated in the website description). Other fabulous beaches are a short drive away and places of interest including Alnwick castle, Lindisfarne & Beamish outdoor museum are slightly further afield. We had a lovely stay here and hope to return!

Had a lovely stay was beautiful in a lovely village Susan and Russell were very knowledgeable of the surrounding area The lodge had everything you needed and more and was really peaceful a private fenced in garden made it perfect for dog to and the beach across the road was wonderful for dog Highly recomend

Lovely lodge with its own enclosed garden.

Great location in a beautiful, peaceful village only 5 minutes walk to the beach. The owners Susan & Russell were friendly & helpful - and left us milk and a cake when we arrived. Recommend the Drift cafe and the ice cream parlour which are both only a few minutes walk away. The only negatives were a slight lack of storage in the twin room & the outside furniture needed a clean.

This cabin was perfect, very cosy, delicious scones were a lovely touch on arrival to have with the complementary tea, cream and Jam.

Sue had thought of everything as we didn’t need everything that we had taken which was great. We will certainly be returning. This was our first trip away with our dog and didn’t know how it would go but happy to say he loved it just as much as we did!

Sue & Russ were very welcoming & very knowledgeable of the area. Including a tour of the Pele Tower. Sue had made us scones for our arrival & Barney our dog adored all the beach & sand dune walks.

The property was as advertised, the space is well used which makes it a real home from home. We had a warm welcome. The setting is private and near perfect. It's quiet aside from the roar of the ocean, and what a beautiful beach and village.

Lovely holiday at Aurora Skies, with just a minutes walk to a fabulous dog friendly beach, a little ice cream shop (seasonal) and an excellent nearby cafe “The Drift Cafe” (dog friendly).

The log cabin is cosy and has everything you need. Also is surrounded by its own private and fully enclosed garden so no worries of escapees! The owners are very helpful and welcoming. This is our 4th visit to Aurora Skies and this time me and my sister were delighted to see the stunning Northern Lights over Cresswell Beach! Aurora Skies certainly lived up to its name! Overall a very relaxing holiday, with nearby beaches and beautiful woodlands to explore. Cresswell Pele Tower which stands opposite is definitely worth a visit too. The area is quiet and peaceful and you can just hear the waves from inside the cabin at night! Wi-Fi a little slow but there was a good selection of DVD’s and some games and books if want to stay inside. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning. Thank you :)

Comfortable, warm and cosy despite Storm Babet blowing around us.

The log cabin had everything one could possibly need. My only suggestion would be a small shelf in the bathroom which would be useful, maybe on the right hand side above the sink? Enclosed garden perfect for our dog and the beach was just fantastic. Also recommend the Drift Cafe nearby.

The bathroom smelt of drainage, none of the locks worked on the bedroom, or bathroom doors, the garden gate was stiff and difficult to open every day.

The lodge was set in the owners back garden , which gives a slightly different conception as to what was stated on the website, which explained the cabin was on owner’s grounds. There were no sea views from the grounds of the cabin, which again stated on the website sea views were visible from the cabin. The cabin didn’t look as big as was advertised on the site. However, on a positive, the location was great with easy access to a beautiful/quiet beach, within minutes from the lodge.

Aurora Skies is a lovely quiet getaway.

Is equipped with everything you could possibly need to make a stress free holiday. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog to wander around. Thank you Sue & Russ .

The lodge is ideally situated and the private garden is great for a dog.

Having said that the accomodation is okay for 2 adults and, possibly, one or two children but would be very cramped for 4 adults. The place is very well equipped but some of the lodge is lacking a bit of maintenance. We found the sofa a bit uncomfortable and there were two narrow armchairs but these could be improved at a modest cost. The owners were friendly and most helpful.

Great place and area to visit been Thier at least 5 times .

Upon arrival at the holiday home we were greeted by the owners and shown around the property which is extremely well equipped.

Everything you could want including tea coffee milk in the fridge and some delicious cake. Totally enclosed making it perfect for our dog to wander in and out. We unfortunately had a issue with our car but the owners were extremely helpful in finding us a garage that carried out repairs very reasonably. The coastline is stunning with fabulous beaches backed by lovely sand dunes.. So much to see and do one week is nowhere long enough to fit everything in. We are definitely hoping to visit the area again and wouldn't hesitate in returning to Aurora Skies. Can't recommend it enough for anyone who likes a quiet relaxing holiday. Very well equipped, we had everything we needed plus more. The location was fabulous being literally minutes to a huge sandy & dog friendly beach. Lovely welcome from our hosts. We would definitely recommend to friends & family.

Everything you need is there and total privacy. Warm welcome from hosts and was greeted with lovely fruit scones. Handy to visit sites along Northumbrian coast.

Wonderful accommodation lots of little extras to make your break.

Distance to the beach extremely good as was the beach itself. Owners were extremely accommodating in helping us to enjoy our break. Lots of information within the cabin to allow you to plan various trips around the area.

What a fantastic few days away!

The cabin had everything you would need, it's very quiet and peaceful and a stones throw from a fabulous stretch of beach. We went in February and the accommodation was lovely and warm The owners had provided tea, coffee and milk for our arrival and they were very friendly. We even got a personal visit to the Pele Tower and grounds just across the road. The Tower is a ancient defensive tower restored to its former glory. Highly recommended

We loved this lodge.

The best Sykes accommodation we have stayed in. It was really cosy and had everything you could need (including slippers and dressing gowns). It was also really warm, we didn’t have to use the heating at all, it was very well insulated. Perfect location for the beach (which was amazing). Also not too far to drive into nearby towns. Wi-Fi was ok for light usage, but I had to work a couple of days and had to go to nearby town to use Wi-Fi in a cafe. We would definitely return. The hosts were also lovely and even gave us a private tour of Pele Tower. Thanks so much for looking after us.

Aurora Skies is a beautiful little hide away, very clean, well equipped and lovely and cosy, the hosts are really helpful and nothing is too much bother, situated close to the beach with a great place to have coffee and some lovely meals.

Have to say it’s the perfect spot, literally 2 minutes walk from a fantastic beach!

Really private and enclosed which meant our dogs could enjoy the freedom of the garden. Lovely hosts, nothing too much trouble. The cabin itself feels a little cramped, strange because it’s not, maybe it’s the wood which has darkened with age, perhaps some bright pictures would help? The doorways all felt too narrow, again, they’re not, a less able person might struggle with the ‘lips’ that protrude a few inches up from the floor which you are conscious of when using them. All in all we had a really nice break! Would definitely recommend a visit or two, thanks to the hosts for making it possible…

A beautiful property in an ideal location - perfect for exploring areas and attractions not too far away.

Aurora skies is such a warm and cosy accommodation with everything you need. Our children loved the property, in particular the large enclosed garden space. Cresswell is a lovely little village with such a gem of a beach situated just a 2 minute walk away from the property.

We had a fantastic week in the gorgeous aurora skies.

The cosy little cottage had everything we needed and Sue was a very responsive and helpful host. We loved being so close to the sea and enjoyed the Drift Café and Cresswell Ices! We did some fantastic coastal cycle rides, visiting Alnmouth, Amble Dunstanburg Castle, Warkworth Castle, Alnwick Castle and Cragside. A fantastic trip with amazing weather too! Thank you!

We think it would be better made into a one bedroom property and to make the shower room larger.

We are used to a firmer bed, it was rather soft for us. We had a wonderful holiday and the owners were happy to help make our stay the best possible. The village was absolutely beautiful.

This is our 2nd visit to this place can not fault it its got everything we need close to the beach, walks, scenery nice places to eat.

We really love this place.

We stayed here 9th - 16th April.

We found the property to be very comfortable and cozy. There is absolutely everything you need. The bed is big and comfy and loads of storage for clothes etc. There is a lovely garden that surrounds it with table and chairs. Washing machine and dish washer too! 2 minutes walk to a beautiful beach with The Drift cafe. Perfect.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful, great biscuits on arrival, fantastic area too. Only let down was not a good view as described on the website. Would still recommend.

Our household comprised two adults and a small dog.

This was an enjoyable stay and the cottage sufficient for our needs, but the following are worth noting. The property is small with a lot squeezed into a small space - good in some ways, frustrating in others. The outdoor space and the appropriate weather would seem essential for larger groups to spread out. All was clean and well equipped with the exception of some missing cutlery. WiFi (internet access) was rather unreliable and there was little or no 4G reception. Don't expect a sea view. That is largely obscured by a chalet next door and a relatively high wall.

Think photos need updating the view is a wooden fence and another cabin not what is in the photo it states 1 step onto deck into cabin it does not mention that from carpark you have a ramp a gravel path then you get to property where the 1 step to deck is then you have a threshold step you finally in property but every door way has raised threshold this should be in description as we struggled due to poor mobility we would not of booked if we had known about all these steps cabin was warm and cosy none of the inside doors shut and my son in law had to fix the entrance door as they didn't seem bothered would we come again proberly not but it may be suitable if you are mobile

Two minutes walk from a pristine beach with the excellent Drift Cafe an easy walk and dog friendly too. A great base for visiting Northumberland

we had a fantastic holiday in Northumberland at a lodge Auroria skies in Creswell village, perfect location and the lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed.

We had a fantastic week and the accomodation lived up to our expectations.

The hosts were really friendly and we could not have chosen a better location. However, when we checked on availability for the same time in 2022, we note that there has been a considerable price increase to 2021. We do not believe this can be as a result of Covid as the cleanliness regime should be the same. Disappointing but we will consider all options.

We have stayed a few times before so we obviously really enjoy staying here.

Unfortunately the internet failed after first day and couldn't be restored after speaking to owners. One or two areas are in need of replacement such as mattress in second bedroom/crockery. Overall very good but unable to give 5 stars as we have before.

I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely lodge.

The location is great- you can hear the sea at night- and it's a couple of minutes walk to the tip of beautiful Druridge Bay. The lodge was very well equipped with all the essentials that you could need for your stay- soap, foil, kitchen roll- even dressing gowns!! The secluded, sunny garden was fantastic for barbecuing and got the last of the evening sun. Thank you very much to Sue and Russ for making our break so enjoyable and comfortable.

It was a little oasis tucked away in the loveliest private garden. Our boys and our puppy loved the garden, as did we. The weather was mostly good and the area and local beaches are stunning. The garden really catches the sun all day which was a huge bonus. The hosts, Sue and Russell, were really warm, welcoming and helpful. We had been looking forward to the holiday very much and it was even better than we had hoped. The house was so comfortable and well equipped. Everything you could possibly need. We would love to visit again.

A very cosy, clean and warm holiday home in a perfect location for the beautiful beach. Everything you need is here and if not just ask Sue or Russell, nothing is too much trouble. The enclosed well kept garden is ideal and safe for dogs. Ample parking. The Drift Cafe is a must to visit only a short walk away. This was my first visit to this stunning coastline of Northumbria and I would most definitely return and stay at Aura Skies again.

We were made to feel welcome from the get go. The accomodation is excellent. All of the highest standard. Mum loved her brass bed. Location is excellent for touring the area. Sue and Russell recommended Amber and we had an excellent day there.

The hosts were always available and friendly but not intrusive.

The area is beautiful with lots of incredible uncommercialised beaches which allow dogs. We also found a lot of dog friendly shops and eating places. All the local people were also friendly. We enjoyed it so much we are returning later in the year.

if you like the beach,it was great for my dog, fire pit and bbq were a bonus. Only thing that didn’t work was WiFi, but that was a bonus

Great accommodation and it's location across the road from a fabulous miles long stretch of clean sandy beach added so much to our pleasure.

Just paradise for the dog too. Loads of great places to eat out within short travelling distance. Loved it all.

We had a brilliant week away at Aurora Skies!

The description couldn’t have been more accurate. We woke to beautiful sea views every morning from our private garden which our dog loved pottering around in. The beach was a 5 minute stroll with a fab little ice cream shop on the way. The lodge was incredibly clean and catered for all our needs. We will definitely re-visit! 5*!

This little lodge in cresswell village definitely met our expectations , the lodge was very nice , fully equipped with everything you needed, the hosts sue and Russ were very welcoming and when we arrived sue had made us some homemade cookies and milk in the fridge.

the beach was virtually across the road and what a beach it is , beautiful , we were fortunate enough to have had the sunshine so we saw everything at its best . I would highly recommend this holiday lodge , we will definitely be returning. we took our small dog and it was brilliant having a enclosed garden for bobby to play out .Northumberland is such a beautiful place and so much to see and do .

Aurora Skies is a nice compact wooden lodge which meets all the basic needs for a holiday base.

It is comfortable and well equipped, quiet and private. The owners are welcoming but do not intrude on your privacy. While it maybe a little small for four adults it is OK for two adults with children and our dog loved the surroundings. Ideal as a base for going out to explore Northumbria it is also ideally situated to go on the beach across the quiet road. All in all anice place to stay
