Breamish

This was just perfect for two of us and two dogs.

They absolutely loved the huge dog field! And my wife had what she describes as the best gluten-free burger that she has ever had, at the Village Inn. My beer was pretty good too! If you are thinking of staying here and are worried about the large barns in the pictures, then I can say it's just honest advertising and the farm doesn't intrude on the accommodation at all. The cottages look out upon a small copse.and across the fields and the valley; it's a lovely view. Our cottage had everything we needed - and it was all in good condition. There was a shower and a bath. We only used the shower. It was strong and hot. The dishwasher and washing machine were also really useful. The location is terrific, on the edge of the village. And in terms of wider Northumberland, it's as central as you can hope to get, which made it easy for us to see much of the Northumberland landscape. We would definitely return.

Great cottage lovely outlook on a working farm about 1 mile from the village centre and Peaceful location i think this was our 3rd stay.

Close to the Cheviots, Rothbury and the Coast is only 20 mins away. Northumberland remains one of our favourite places to visit.

Very easy to find but out on the very edge of Longramlington so very rural.

Quiet and peaceful. The key safe makes it a doddle to get into the cabin. So no stress to have to meet up with the owners at a certain time and the owner had been communicative earlier in the week with all our instructions. We were delighted to find that an EV charger unit had been installed on the farm which cottage tenants were allowed to use. A little fiddly at first because I hadn't got a decent signal for the wifi until I utilised the one for the cottages. Then it was great not having to find somewhere to charge up the car. All the information you need for your stay is supplied on laminated sheets under TV. (very organised) The cottage itself met a high standard with equipment even the tv has a built in dvd player. We really enjoyed our stay finding the location easy to go to other areas within Northumberland.

A really comfortable lodge in a peaceful location.

Basically all you need for a restfull break in a nice part of the country. Highly recommended.

Perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland to the North, South, East and West.

Ideal for those that wish to take their dogs on holiday with them. The dog walking field not only is multi-acred, but also has a fresh water supply for the dogs in it. Lodge itself well equipped, well maintained and comfortable. I was unfortunate to get a puncture whilst staying here. Our hosts were brilliant and assisted me when I had difficulty releasing the spare wheel. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.

2nd time here and it was exceptionally nice,chalet is 1st class and owners are friendly and very helpful.

Breamish is a great lodge with fantastic views with a large field to exercise your dogs,it's a well equipped lodge with all mod cons the only down side is the poor wi fi but this didn't spoil the holiday in the slightest and we will be back again well worth a visit.

A very nice chalet in an excellent position within fairly easy reach of all the things we wanted to do and see in the area.

Our dog really liked the field. The negative items, which are really minor but are frustrations, mainly relate to the basic items in the kitchen, like no salt and pepper, no cleaning clothes, mismatched glasses and no tea/coffee and milk for your arrival drink. The welcome wine was very nice but as it was white why was it not in the fridge? The information pack, such as it was, being 3 laminated pages of basic information with nothing about rubbish bins, dog poo bins, etc. Local information leaflets comprised a large unsorted pile under the TV with some dating back 2 years. Sorting and updating would be helpful. As a point of health and safety the shower adjustment goes from warm to very hot easily with no warning.

We absolutely loved our stay at Breamish lodge, we’ve never stayed in such a dog friendly place, a large field and also well kept lawns, we couldn’t keep them in.

The lodge was really comfortable, perfect for two and in a great area within an easy drive to everywhere. We would love to go back there. It was so quiet and peaceful. We’d highly recommend it to all, especially if you have dogs.

Everything was great apart from WiFi which buffered a bit when streaming but I understand it's difficult with multiple lodges didn't in any way spoil our fun!

This was our 3rd year at Holme farm and hopefully many more.

The accommodation is first rate and Sally does a great job in cleaning every lodge 100%. The view from the lodges is amazing and the addition of the huge dog exercise is a bonus. We can't recommend Holme farm enough. Thanks Gavin and Sally for a lovely stay.

Our stay in Beamish lodge was all we hoped for and more.

The lodge was well presented and comfortable with everything we needed for a few days rest and relaxation. Set in beautiful surroundings with lovely views over the countryside and very peaceful. This was our first visit to Northumberland and we loved it. We will definitely visit again and hope to stay at Holme farm lodges.

Modern, clean and well appointed chalet accommodation.

Spotless kitchen and bathroom. The single bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space and the bed linen was crisp and fresh. Very welcome complimentary bottle of wine, a nice touch after a long hot day driving. Excellent location to use as a base to explore Northumberland. 10/10.

Would have liked a information booklet about general info re wate disposal and recycling.

Also information sent said there would be books and games available but didn't find any.

It’s a lovely place to stay, comfortable bed and great shower.

It was lovely and warm and if we go back we would certainly rent the property again.

A beautiful property with beautiful views and fantastic place to take your dog large field to exercise your dog only downside is poor wi fi but well worth another visit.

It would have been appreciated if the owners, who only lived 100yds away, made the effort to call in at some point during our stay to ask if we were happy with everything and to point out some places of interest or whatever.

The only time we made contact was when I phoned to tell them we were leaving a day early, as we had a long drive back to Devon and wanted to break the journey, and also to let them know about an outside light that wasn't working. However, the accommodation was comfortable and suited our needs and was very quiet. The only downside was that I kept hitting the leg of the bed with either my foot or leg especially at night, and being of a certain age that nature calls me out once or twice a night, this is due to the fact that when the door is open into the bedroom the gap between door and bed is about 9" and in the dark it's very awkward!! excellant property could have had a sweeping brush for indoors and outside small table and chairs for out door use otherwise everything and more that you would have in your own home very good inside space we enjoyed our stay at breamish even our 10month old puppy was happy and behaved himself good location for days out

The location was great and we had a fantastic stay.

The dog field was much appreciated. The area was extremely peaceful and the starry night sky was amazing. Had everything we needed but didn't meet the owners, which would have been nice.

Simply STUNNING!

!!!! The view from the windows of the surrounding mountains, moors and countryside was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! The log cabin had absolutely everything - fluffy towels, very comfy bed, loads of storage space, and THE BEST SHOWER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!! Being able to sit on the front and finally enjoy the hot weather made this break PERFECT!

Quiet location yet not remote.

Easy access to the main tourist areas by car using a good network of mainly traffic free back roads. Couple of good dog friendly food pubs within a mile. The lodge itself furnished to a good standard and very well maintained. Only negative was the weeks stay passed too quickly.

The weather helped, but we had a wonderful week. The site was clean and tidy, and the surrounding trees and grassed area made it comfortable, enjoyable, and relaxing. The views were great, the nighttime skies were clear and the sunsets were amazing.

It has everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Great location, very clean and well equipped. Cannot fault

We really enjoyed our stay and thought the setting was ideal, especially the field to walk the dogs in.

Perhaps a picnic table would be useful to eat outside when the weather is sunny, which it was during our stay.

Well what can I say.

This was in an idyllic location. It wasn't far from our home and was an impromptu stay for a week. We would have travelled a lot further if needed. The building was beautiful and fit in with its surroundings. I've never stayed in anything so clean and fresh. It had everything we needed and more. The field to walk the dog first thing is genius and appreciated. We would of stayedanother week but it was fully booked. Would definitely be up there for a revisit. Well done Sally and Gavin.

It would have been nice to meet the owner, and have more information re the equipment in the property.

The bottle of wine was most acceptable, but a personal welcome would have been better. The location is very good for exploration of the county. This is the second time we have stayed in this village. The sofa made a lot of noise each time we moved, but overall it was good and reasonably comfortable.

Great second stay in this lovely lodge.

Plenty of local walks for my dogs and I and the local town pub is excellent. Highly recommended.

Great for dog owners with the field provided very welcome. The wine was a thoughtful gift. Only draw back was not knowing beforehand that we could not invite guests around as we were visiting family. Negative if you could call it that was the duvet provided would have done well in Siberia.

Great location for a pet friendly mini break, close to many lovely beaches and country walks.

Very clean and well kept accommodation with ample open space to exercise dog. All facilities provided, just needed to bring dog bed and food. Loved it.

Very clean and tidy, bed was comfortable which is more than can be said for the sofa which was low to the ground and very uncomfortable, chairs weren’t much better.

Wi-Fi was very weak and kept going off line which was very annoying. Felt the bear minimum of utensils were provided with no condiments not even a dish cloth to wipe surfaces. I’ve stayed in many properties with Sykes Cottages and I think I’ve always found a small supply of tea, sugar and coffee but not here. As has been mentioned it would have been nice if owners had checked with us, to advise places to go roundabout, were to eat etc., but must give thanks for the bottle of wine. The dog, however enjoyed running round the field which was huge, and the area immediately outside the property was good for first thing in the morning and last thing at night for the dog to do his business, thankfully a torch was provided. The property was well situated for the many beautiful beaches and the corner shop was well stocked for everything we needed.

Only downsides are the sofa which is very uncomfortable and the bed which although comfy made you feel very hot. It would also have been nice if the owners had checked with us that all was oaky.

A perfect place for us and our dog, brilliant accommodation, great location, plenty of space to exercise the dog and close enough to all the places of interest.

The property was very clean, spacious with gorgeous views.

Our 2 dogs loved being off-lead in the field. Location is brilliant to reach so much of Northumberland. Only wish we had the time to visit everything. Our only negatives - we found the settee & chairs a little uncomfortable, and only realised there was no condiment set when about to cook. As you can see, very minor, and wouldn't stop us from coming back, nor influence our high recommendation of the property.

All round, a really good property.

Downside with a small dog was the lack of enclosed garden (other lodges on the farm have their own), and the stone surface in between grass and lodge which the dog hated. As others have commented, the sofa is a tad low. Otherwise excellent, great facilities, quiet location, everything we wanted.

Well presented property.

Had everything you would ever want in a lodge and more. Beautiful surroundings. Nice and warm even when cold outside. Just found sofa too low but the single chairs very comfortable. Would certainly recommend and would stay again.

Just what we needed for our short break with our two Golden Retriever’s.

A warm and cosy west-facing property, where we enjoyed watching the sunset on the veranda. Outside, plenty of space to park the car, a lovely green area in front, which was ideal first thing in the morning and last thing at night to allow the dogs to do their business. If you wanted a slightly longer walk, the adjacent field had a path around its perimeter, which has been cut. It was well drained and relatively dry considerably it was the end of October. There was also a lovely tarmac walk down the lane towards the valley if your preferred something firmer. Indoors - top spec. Loved it! We didn’t get chance to do too much cooking, but there appeared plenty of utensils for the two of us. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine, which was enjoyed by hubby - the only wine-drinker in the party. There was enough space to put our dog’s baskets and their toys. Have given 4 stars for comfort, as the sofa was rather low to the ground with very soft cushions, so not as comfortable as you’d expect. Welcome additions were the two high-back chairs, which I preferred to use. Wi-if was weak and kept dropping out, so had to use my own data to keep in touch with messages I had to pick up relating to an important event I was attending during our stay. Overall, we were extremely pleased with this accommodation and will definitely visit again and will recommend to our friends and family. Plenty of attention to detail and located on a lovely village with a dog-walking field, great corner shop, butchers, hairdressers and excellent dog-friendly, welcoming pubs with an excellent menu.

Clean, bright, warm chalet with gorgeous views and sunsets. Central for exploring Northumberland. Local shop is brilliant too. (There are now a couple of high backed chairs for those who do not like soft sofa).

We had a very enjoyable holiday.

Longframlington is central to the area we wanted to explore - half an hour from the coast, about an hour from Lindisfarne, and with National Trust and English Heritage properties not far away. We could be on Warkworth dunes every morning with our dog by 7.00an (getting up at 5.00, which we enjoyed). We walked on Simonside, at Holystone Forest, on Lindisfarne, visited Belsay Hall, Cragside and Wallington, spent a hot afternoon at Longframlington Gardens, and another at Brinkburn Priory, and enjoyed lunches at the Anglers Arms. The cottage was clean - very important in these pandemic days - and had what we needed, though we were out most of the time. The kitchen was minimally equipped and I had to use a bit of ingenuity to cook, but we managed. The sofa is very uncomfortable - even our lurcher, a sofa enthusiast, would not go on it - but we had not gone on holiday to spend time sitting down.

I asked for a fragrance free chalet as I have chemical sensitivities, the toilet paper was fragranced, in the cupboard under tge dink were bold washing pods and flash lemon wipes also fairy liquid all of which give off a scent, luckily I took my own, which were unscented and I also took all my own bed linen and towels etc, it was a lovely place apart from the scents which caused me some problems.

What a lovely place this was to stay in.

It was tranquil, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. My only critique was the sofa, it was very uncomfortable and very low to get up from as myself and my husband have hip problems.

Excellent accommodation, only minor gripe being the uncomfortable sofa.

Other than that we were very pleased.

First time I have used Sykes.

I took my two dogs on a mini break to Northumberland and chose Breamish cottage at Long Framlington. I was more than pleased with the choice. Superbly situated modern cottage, very well furnished and extremely clean and tidy. Could not fault in any way. Woould highly reccomend and will certainly look to enjoy a holiday there in the future.

The lodges were in a very quite location and plenty of space outside.

There is a grass area in front of the 1 bed lodges, ideal for walking your dog beofre setting off for the day.

Our only criticism regarding the facilities is that there was no broom in the cupboard and we had to use the hoover if we wanted to sweep the floor.

The bed was a little uncomfortable and there was a strange noise during nighttime which sounded like it was coming from the heating

We had a very enjoyable 3 days at Breamish.

The welcoming bottle of wine set the scene for our stay. The cottage is in an ideal location for visiting Rothbury/Cragside and the Northumberland coast and the surrounding countryside is very gentle but calming.

The chalet was perfect, spotlessly clean and had a very well equipped kitchen area.

Central heating was really effective and almost instant. From the front there are gorgeous views across the valley, and on the horizon we would watch some amazing sunsets - very quiet location- friendly folk around - short walk to small village and short drive to Alnwick, Seahouses etc

The log cabin was wonderful, far exceeding any of the photos shown.

Ideal for our dogs with plenty of grass/ field to enjoy a good walk and play about. Immaculately clean with all facilities required. A very peaceful location with a small village a short walk up the lane. Great area for exploring Northumberland will definitely return.

The pictures don’t do these properties justice , just having the large garden area in front makes a lot of difference with our well behaved dogs , very pleased overall and could definitely recommend these to dog owners.

The lodge was very nice views out of the lodge were good but, the settee was so uncomfortable totally worn out, we will not return and also you can enter at 3-00 pm not 5-pm as stated the owner seemed as though he did not want to speak .

Well equipped chalet with everything needed for a great holiday stay, (views included), in a lovely area with lots of places to visit and great local facilities.

Recommend a visit to the village inn, (the food is lovely), but it's a bit more than a 10min walk as stated on the Sykes listing!

We appreciated the bottle of wine and tea and coffee.

The setting would be great for dark sky watching if we had had clear skies .I would have liked a hook in the bathroom and perhaps some more information on local eating establishments but overall we really enjoyed our stay .

A very quiet area.

While the cottage was adequate there were some limitations....lack of seating in the small lounge. Only one two seater very uncomfortable sofa. The bed required some additional linen such as a fitted mattress cover. No designated braai area and although a large bit of grass in front of the cottages was unsure if we could braai there. Did not see anyone from the main house which was assumed was where the owners lived. Oherwise adequate but three nights was sufficient. Rothbury is 15 minutes away and a very pretty little town.

The holiday home was good in general it had lovely views and plenty of space inside for easy holiday living, but unfortunately the sofa was much too low and lumpy for comfort and the only other seating was wooden table chairs.

A new sofa would have made the holiday so much more comfortable and enjoyable.

This is a newly built cabin, we were quite possibly the first guests to use it.

it is well equipped and quite comfortable, but a few "homely " touches would be nice, for example some hooks in the bathroom to hang your robe. Similar in the kitchen area to hang tea towels and oven gloves. we did fine the lighting to be strong and harsh, so a couple of stand alone lamps to allow more subtle lighting
