Great accommodation, the lodge was spotlessly clean, relatively well equipped and in a peaceful & beautiful location.

Ideal for dog owners due to the secure garden & paths into the adjoining field. We hope to return next year.

A very comfortable and spacious lodge with a garden ideally suited to having a dog with a field adjacent for a good walk.

The area is within easy distance of the coast and inland places of interest notably Cragside and Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Inspite of mixed weather we had a very enjoyable week in Coquet. David, Celia and Molly June 2026

Great location, loved the view, porch arrangement and fenced outside space - well maintained - couldn’t ask for more as a dog owner.

Any chance of replacing the double bed marshmallow mattress & quality of cutlery which makes the overall experience a 4 and not a 5.

Property clean well equipped and maintained. Perfect accomodation for those seeking peace and quiet, with dog owners being able to take their pets with them. Have already booked another visit later in the year.

Very relaxing and great for doggy walks! Site very well planned! Would suggest a couple more tea towels but not a problem to pack a couple! Maybe more oven dishes! But throughly enjoyed views spectacular! Will Definitely be back! Gavin and Sally have got it so right! Bonus electric car charger and very good price!

The property was perfectly located for visits to surrounding landmarks and beach, the beds were comfy, however, the duvets protective cover did cause a slight discomfort at night for the kids but nothing major.

The seating area was nicely positioned on an evening for relaxing, My only slight personal preference change would be to have 2 sofas for a family of four as the 2 single chairs weren't the most comfortable on an evening to chill on. we enjoyed the enclosed garden and far reaching views from the veranda. All in all a lovely stay in breathtaking Northumberland.

This was our third time at Coquet cottage and we still really enjoy the stay.

The relaxed location and views are fantastic and the adjacent field seems to have improved with it now being a well groomed space, which our dog loves. The only thing the property could improve is a couple of more comfortable chairs for the lounge area.

Comfortable property which was exceptionally clean, with good storage and appliances.

The front covered veranda was such a nice place to sit. Great environment to stay with our dog. The French doors straight out onto the fenced garden, as well as the dog exercise area was a real plus for us. Super location and the bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch. We’ll be back!

We had a great week at Coquet, my daughter and husband stayed in Wansbeck next door.

The enclosed gardens were brilliant for the dogs. The views from there were stunning. The accommodation was very clean and the bed was so, so comfortable and a welcome bottle of wine was there for us on arrival. House martins were very busy and and great to see amongst plenty of other birds including goldfinches. There were sheep and lambs close by and could be seen and heard from the very secure exercise field. My dog thought he was in heaven because he could run free in there (his recall is absolute rubbish) and I enjoyed seeing him. The village of Longframlington is pretty with a pub, grocers and bakery all are friendly and the butcher's shop, has extremely tasty steaks, reasonably priced and I took some home for the freezer. Places along the coast are easy to get to and within thirty or so minutes. Morpeth was a good place to visit, a busy town. We would have like to visit more places, but make sure if you have dogs that they are welcome an example was Alnwick Castle and the Gardens. I have only a few gripes with the lodge and they are that I would've liked some decent cutlery, a couple of larger pans and maybe a casserole dish. Oh and a can opener that works. I managed for two of us, but a family might struggle. None of these points spoilt the holiday - just some suggestions.

Fantastic property , peace and quiet in abundance, just what we needed ,my only criticism but this is only my choice and understand most people wouldn't agree with me and that is ditch the bottle of wine for a pint of milk in the fridge

Beautifully clean, spacious and comfortable.

The beds and bedrooms were the best I have had so far. Plenty of storage room in the kitchen for frozen, fresh and tinned stuff. Perfect quiet setting in the countryside, with great views. Garden fully enclosed which was our main concern for the dog. Would definitely come here again.

Clean and quiet. Lovely enclosed garden for our dog. 2 chairs were not comfortable for us. No toilet brush. No welcome pack. Only a bottle of wine which we dont drink.

This was our second time staying and we continue to enjoy it as a family.

The property is spotless in a very relaxing location but not too far from the cafe, pub and shop. Not forgetting the chippy van on Tuesday! We will definitely stay again

Everything provided for a comfortable stay. Enclosed garden is excellent for dogs and children. Location is ideal - perfect base to explore surrounding areas. Approximately one mile to nearest pub and shop which is a pleasant walk. Owners Sally and Gavin take great pride in their accommodation and we would not hesitate to return very soon

Absolutely beautiful lodge, location & very clean.

The field beside Coquet was fabulous for our dog, amazing view and great to see some deer. We found the upright chairs very uncomfortable but probably fine if you’re tall! However we would definitely recommend & come back again. ❤️

The cabin is in a perfect location and absolutely perfect for our 4 legged friends .

Totally enclosed garden . As for the cabin itself its bright comfortable with more than addiquate and modern kitchen complete with large fridge freezer . Sofa and chairs very comfy to relax and watch the large television. Bedrooms are spacious beds extremely comfy and more than enough built in wardrobe space with bedside cabinets and lamps . Bathroom is modern spacious extra large shower with super hot water bath basin and toilet . The cabin is nice warm and cosy with you having the ability to adjust the heat level required . Views are superb and the veranda and bench an added bonus . The owners dont bother you but very approachable if any help is required . My first stay was so enjoyable and relaxed ive booked again for August 2024 . Also the coast line is easy to reach from the cabin .

The seating needs sorting.

We just wanted the chill out and the sofa and 2 chairs were so uncomfortable i had to lay on the bed. The shower was lovely but the fixing was too stiff to turn the temperature down so couldn't shower. Needs some more pans not big enough pans to cook dinner. However still a clean beauriful place and we will be going again

A very nice peaceful setting.

The property was spotless and very spacious for a family of 4. We will definitely use this property again for future holidays. A short walk to a local pub, shop and cafe meant we were never stuck for anything. We could the location really good for local beaches, Alnwick and Morpeth.

A lovely cottage with fantastic views of the countryside.

All we needed to make our stay comfortable. Beds comfortable and plenty of space to put or clothes. Kitchen with washer/dryer and dish washer greatly appreciated. A great place to visit all the local attractions. Loved it.

The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

It was situated on the edge of a rural community with wonderful views & very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it. There was a gastro pub in the village & a wonderful bakery/ cafe The running Fox which sold the most amazing cakes . Would definitely return, so much to see in the area.

It would have been nice to have a welcome pack.

i.e. Milk so when you arrive late you don't have to drive over a mile if the local store is closed. It looks like cutting costs when only one toilet role is left

Coquet exceeded our expectations, the cabin was spotlessly clean with all the amenities, that you would require.

The location was superb with stunning countryside views, plus close access to Northumberland attractions.

Our second stay at this comfortable lodge, which is also ideal for our four legged friend with its enclosed garden.

Perfectly placed for touring beautiful Northumberland and fabulous to return each evening to peace, quiet and wonderful views. We look forward to staying again in the next couple of years.

Everything was perfect, I don’t think the pictures did it justice. It was so peaceful and larger than expected. If you have a dog it will love it here, there’s a field next to the lodges where you can exercise your four legged friend. Highly recommend and we will return again next year. Shower great, comfortable beds and beautiful views. Loved our stay and plenty of outdoor space for the dogs. Would love to return sometime. A couple of extra cooking dishes would have been useful, eg dish with lid for microwave and a pan lid.

This is our third visit as we love it here.

The facilities are great, everything very clean and the whole place is very peaceful but without being miles away from anything else. Our two dogs love the garden and the field right next to the garden especially for walking your dog is so handy. Local village pub is very welcoming and the Sunday carvery in there particularly good. So many places nearby to visit, spoilt for choice, everywhere very dog friendly too. Had a lovely meal in Masons Arms at Warkworth, great cake in Gingerbread cafe at Red Row, and generally lots of lovely places to eat. Also had takeaway Indian from Rothbury (Newcastle House) which was very good and is only 10 minutes drive. Favourite beaches Warkworth and Cresswell (nice cafe The Drift, free parking). Always sad to leave this place, we could happily stay for months! Highly recommend Coquet cottage and we will be back. PS new sofa very comfy and a good addition.

Such a fabulous location enhanced by the field next to the property which Lewis, our Springer, loved running around in.

The lodge is spacious and clean and close to local amenities. We highly recommend a trip to at least one of the Running Fox cafes. We agree with previous comments regarding the lack of comfort of the sofa and bed.

The property is in a lovely location and the lodge is warm and clean and spacious.

The duvets were a bit noisy, as they have a plastic cover on them.

We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and well equipped cabin.

The views are spectacular and our two dogs loved the dog walk right next door. Having a safe fenced in garden was also a bonus. We will definitely be returning to Coquet. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The view from the patio is worth it alone.

Lovely and peaceful, as I am recovering from a new hip, I enjoyed sitting outside We've re booked for next year already, something to look forward too in these dark times. Central to visit lots of places, from beaches to hidden valley.food trucks on the park Tues and Thurs too

We have stayed in Coquet Lodge 7 times to date and have always found it delightfully clean and comfortable.

We and our lively springer especially appreciate the enclosed lawned area and adjoining field. The location is beautiful and ideally situated for exploring the coast and countryside of Northumberland. My only negative comment is that the settee is very low and therefore unsuitable for anyone with back pain which my husband now suffers from.

Lovely place, very quiet.

.ideal for dog owners. Only slight issue for me was the seating. The 2 chairs where quite uncomfortable and the 2 seater couch was probably ready for replacement. It's possible this hasn't been upgraded as t's a dog friendly lodge.

We have had a lovely week staying in the Croquet chalet.

It was easy to find and we settled in and relaxed straight away. The chalet was clean and spacious, having plenty of storage and great facilities. With a cheeky bottle of wine thank you. The location and views were great and the garden, with the added bonus of a meadow to walk the dog… We will definitely recommend these chalets to our friends and family, possibly come back sometime.

Everything you want from a holiday lodge, lovely clean accommodation set in a fabulous location.

Four lodges, with an enclosed garden which was perfect for the summer evening, sitting watching the very many swallows flying around. The lodges are near the village and close to many places to visit, but located down a lovely quiet lane. Perfect for taking your dogs away to, a great field to be able to walk in and the lane, which is the local dog walking place to go so nice for a chat with the very friendly local residents.

Loved the lodge, perfect for dog owners, even though we didn’t have one.

Easy to find, parking excellent and very clean. Fairly well equipped. It’s perfect being out in the countryside but close to village ( walkable 20 mins) and main road so driving to coast or inland was easy. Views were stunning, lots of birds, we even had a nest of swallows who fledged while we were there. Beautiful large field just through the gate with grasses and wild flowers, nice to walk in even without a dog. A couple of very minor things, could do with a few more hangers, a rubber shower mat - floor of shower slippery and a loo brush. Would be delighted to return

Great property in fantastic grounds.

The view from the property is amazing. Enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and we enjoyed watching the house Martin's flying around. Village has everything we could need with so many amenities and all within walking distance. Great place to visit the great places that Northumberland has to offer.

Coquet Lodge is a lovely property in a peaceful location with amazing views.

It’s spacious enough for 4 and very clean and tidy. The location is great for access to all that Northumberland has to offer. Our only criticism is that the kitchen is a little lacking in basic equipment. There are only 3 quite small saucepans which meant cooking pasta/rice for 4 in 2 pans. There are also no lids for the saucepans! There is also only 1 sharp knife. Also, with only 4 bowls/plates etc, it meant having to keep washing stuff up just to be able to cook basic meals.

Absolutely loved our stay just before Christmas.

Was great for our 2 small children, had all the equipment we needed like cot/high chair. Would definitely return and recommend to friends. Lots to do around. Great enclosed garden, safe for kids to run around in.

Doggy heaven, secure garden and lovely big field to walk dogs, real bonus. Would highly recommend.

The cottage is well appointed and, importantly, as we visited in very cold and windy early December, warm.

All the rooms are well sized and the kitchen and bathroom are with good quality fittings. The beds are very comfortable and we slept very well during our stay. The wi-fi signal was good, a very important plus with the remote position of the property.The cottage is in a very quiet spot, with uninterrupted views across fields to hills beyond. It was too cold for us to spend any time on the large lawn in front of the cottage, but it would be great in the warmer weather. It's very easy to get to the cottage, as it's only about 3 or 4 minutes off the A697, and easy to get to all the main tourist attractions of Northumberland. Thanks for a great stay.

Fabulous lodge, had everything we needed.

Great garden for the dogs, made even better by fact there was a field to walk them in. My only negative comment would be the pir light in the bedroom which come on when I turned over and woke me up throughout the night

Staying at Coquet was fabulous, the views were amazing but more amazing was the silence!

The chalet provided everything we needed & was equipped to a high standard. We would highly recommend & thank you to Sally for the complimentary bottle of wine !! Much appreciated

The cottage was perfect for us with our two dogs.

Lovely and clean and the enclosed garden with adjoining field for the dogs was a big plus for us. Everything was very well kept including the garden and special dog walking field. We felt at home straight away in this property. Local village very nice with good corner shop, cafe/bakery and pub. We had a couple of nice meals in the village pub and it was friendly and relaxed and dogs very welcome. A great base for exploring. Will definitely rebook and can't wait to come back.

One of the settees has been replaced by two winged armchairs.

Worked in my favour, as I have recently had a hip replacement. Struggled to get up from the settee. Immaculate home from home. Booked again for next year. Delighted to find a huge hedgehog visiting every evening. The next door field is also cut around the perimeter, to take your dog for a walk

Great location . Everything you need in the village only 15mins walk. Wanted to book for January 22 but full, clearly a popular place.

A great place to stay, close to local amenities with a great view.

We had a lovely stay.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Fabulous position overlooking the valley and a nice secure garden for our little dog. The field next door was great too, Pixie had a fabulous time on the local beaches, she definitely had post holiday blues when we came home. The village was an easy 20 minute walk and had everything we needed, general shop, butcher, a fabulous bakery and two pubs. There was honestly nothing to fault.

This chalet is one of the best we have stayed in and is paradise for dogs.

There is a fully enclosed lawn at the property with a gate leading onto a very large meadow which has a path around it with seats-outstanding. The chalet is immaculate with everything we needed and a bottle of wine to welcome us. Lovely owners who left us to our own devices but live nearby.Even though there are 4 chalets none are overlooked and it is very quiet and rural but also only a couple of minutes to a lovely village with a great shop and pubs. The coast and country park are easily reached by car. All perfect for a peaceful week away.10 out of 10 from both of of us and the dogs

A perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.

Clean, spacious and well appointed cottage with perfect secure garden for our dog and views to make the long journey to Northumberland very worth while. Whilst walking in the adjacent field we saw hares, deer and curlews. We were blessed with fabulous weather which made for some stunning sunsets. Village Inn and Running Fox both a 20 min walk and recommended. Perfect location for easy access to the gorgeous coastline, Wallington, Cragside etc. Wouldn't hesitate to book again (or other accommodation on this site) when we next return to this part of the country.

The accommodation was lovely and we probably will book again .

The only disappointment was that despite the booking for arrival as per email - 3pm , we were informed when arranging to collect keys that it had been changed to 5pm for ! Covid cleaning ! My thoughts are that despite Covid 19 all accommodation should be thoroughly cleaned regardless. We had plans that had to be rearranged as a result of the late arrival. With the current situation not easy to just go to the pub etc . Suspect those with young children would struggle - hanging about after a reasonably long drive .

We had a lovely break, the chalet was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The location is great - very private with a lovely outlook and easy access to the coast, we particularly enjoyed Amble. Highly recommended, thank you.

There was a bottle of wine waiting for us which was a lovely touch. The owner sent us a message to advise when our property was ready as she knew we were having a food delivery. This is a property we will definitively go back to

We had one of the best doggie holidays staying in Coquet.

The chalet/bungalow was brilliant. The fully enclosed garden was a bonus and the field to the side ideal for a quick walk before going out. Coquet was immaculate and had everything you needed. Information leaflets on coffee table and a QR Code for Track and Trace.

A home from home in a quiet setting.

Dog friendly with an enclosed garden and safe field to run in to. Very high standard of cleanliness, felt very safe in thses strange times. Local shops very welcoming but strict with Covid rules. Don't miss the fish and chip van on Tuesdays in the Playing Field!

Coquet chalet was in an excellent location.

The views were lovely and being able to walk our dogs on the field next door was great. The village of Longframlington was great and we enjoyed a meal in the local pub on Friday evening and even better dogs are welcome. Really friendly location. A good base to travel around Northumberland.

Everything as expected.

Nice view and very quiet. Good pubs and friendly people. Food at anglers arms especially good. Only minus lack of instructions on cooker and washing machine but not owners fault as I presume covid problem.

The property is perfect for a holiday with a dog.

The enclosed garden allowed our puppy to roam contentedly. Stunning views. Worth the early rising for a spectacular sunrise. We would recommend the Running Fox bakery and the mobile fish and chip van.

This was our second year at the property.

Great location and facilities are just what is needed for a base.

This was our second visit to Coquet and unfortunately it did not meet the first trip.

Due to the high winds sleep was not possible at night due to the howling wind which was lifting the seat on the veranda. This also caused our two dogs to be on edge throughout the first two nights. On the third day there was a power cut in the village which was when we decided to cut our stay short. Although we did receive a text about the power cut from the owners they never came to see us to check how we had got on due to the bad weather. A shame really but it has put us off returning.

We thought this property was absolutely stunning.

Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves and every effort had been made to make sure that they could enjoy the fully enclosed garden. The accommodation is suitable for anyone who hasn’t got dogs and it was definitely a property that wasn’t a typical property of that type. As a dog owner we sometimes feel a bit like second class citizens. The property was absolutely spotless and much more spacious than we expected. It was warm and comfortable. The setting is fantastic with stunning views. I would definitely return and also have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.

We have not visited Northumberland before & when looking for somewhere to stay with 2 dogs w came across Aln Cottages Sykes website.

The cottage, open views & village location appealed to us & has proven to be a very enjoyable stay. We have visited many local landmarks during each day, returning to our cosy cottage for relaxing evenings. Would highly recommend Aln Cottages for anyone holidaying with dogs or looking to enjoy all Nirthumber has to offer, we will definitely be back, Gill & Ian xx

Lovely cabin in a beautiful area.

Our cocker spaniels loved the enclosed garden. Weather not great but not too bad for this time of the year. We shall hopefully return next year maybe a wee bit earlier so we can sit out on the decked area and out in the garden. We go to a number of holiday cottages every year and Coquet is now high on our list.

Stunning views, I practically lived on the verandha

The cottage was amazing and contributed largely to our most wonderful holiday it was spotless, beautifully decorated, warm and such lovely attention to detail.

The views were wonderful and it was so well placed in Northumberland to access easily all that we wanted to see. The garden was a delight particularly loved by our German Shepherd . When we come back next we would most definitely book to stay in this cottage. We absolutely loved it

Upon arrival it was very clean, I found it spacious and the views were amazing.

Very quiet location which is just what we were looking for, nice maintained garden ideal getaway for my family and the dogs. Plenty of places to walk the dogs. The village nearby is very friendly, good little village shop, with an amazing cafe, and nice pubs you could use for meals. Would definitely recommend this chalet and area for a holiday, definitely considering re booking.

The location of the lodge was brilliant.

Wonderful views. A little disappointed with the selection of pots and pans - we could have done with a few more.

The lodge was excellent, the owners very friendly and helped with questions about the area ,,the views from the lodge where to die for across the Coquet Valley , good value for money

Accommodation was very clean and warm.

The large enclosed garden was particularly good for our 12 year old Westie who sadly is going blind. We have stayed at a number of sykes cottages over the years so have some experience of the standard we would expect. This accommodation was one of four on the site. Unfortunately it seemed like they had been kitted out with a job lot of sofas that were incredible uncomfortable to sit on.There was also limited utensils and pans ,so you couldn't cook your Sunday Roast if you wanted to. There was no cleaning equipment provided so you either left the hob dirty after a weeks of cooked breakfasts or as we did buy your own cleaner.Certainly the first time we have ever done that on holiday. So overall the location and peaceful surrounding was beautiful. On the whole the accommodation was good but spoilt by the lack of attention to some of the practical things needed.Perhaps we have been spoilt in past accommodation!!!!!

Just back from our third stay in Coquet and we're missing the views of the Cheviots already.

The lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful spot and we always enjoy our stay. Longframlington is a very friendly village and The Village Inn is dog friendly and does a lovely Sunday Carvery. The Running Fox is great for coffee and cake {dog friendly too} and the village shop is handy. The enclosed dog walking area in the village is useful even though there are lots of places to enjoy a walk. The garden is totally enclosed so no worries about letting our dog have free access to the garden. Great to sit on the garden bench and watch or listen to the curlews or skylarks. Cheviot is always exceptionally clean and provides us with all we need. The heating is very easy to operate so we're always warm and cosy even when the weather decides to be difficult! The only slight problem for us is the bed is a double not king as stated. This hasn't deterred us as we keep going back but it would make sleeping easier and the room is definitely big enough to accommodate a kingsize. Lovely to have a bottle of wine on arrival courtesy of the owners. Can't wait to go back.

Couple of suggestions for improvement 1 Bigger bed 4 foot 6 is to small room can easily take a lot bigger bed 2 More glasses no pint glasses and only 3 wine glasses Would stay again

Lodge was easy to find, very clean and bright inside, kitchen well equipped, lovely views, would definitely recommend :) and if I ever get chance to come back to Northumberland I would certainly stay here again

Brilliant holiday , exceptionally clean and comfortable.

The one thing which we were disappointed with was the bed, stated it was kingsize, it was a double. This caused us sleep problems as my husband has health issues and we always have to have a kingsize. Perhaps this should be changed. But otherwise the place was just great. The bottle wine was well received after a long journey many thanks. Would highly recommend this cottage.

I asked if the property had a DVD and was told it did not.

This is incorrect as the TV had an integrated DVD. Surely the owners should know this as there were DVDs in the property! One bedroom was listed with a king size bed when it was just a standard double. Also the step in front of the patio was covered in bird droppings from a birds nest above the back door. I would have expected this to be cleaned before our arrival.

What a lovely place to stay with fantastic views would highly recommended this cottage to anyone, the owners had left us a bottle of wine on arrival which we thought was a lovely touch

The lodge was spacious & clean, with lovely views over the enclosed garden and adjoining fields and the bottle of wine made us feel welcome.

It was very peaceful with no noise or disturbance from the workers building two more lodges adjacent to ours. We enjoyed the walk-in shower but the towels were hard & scrubby. We were disappointed to find only half a roll of toilet paper & no spares. The weather turned very cold during our week’s stay but there were no instructions for the heating and no spare blankets for the beds. Would recommend the village shop, who seem to stock almost everything you might need!

Right from the start out experience was great, we needed to call the owner a couple of times as we were trying to navigate in the dark, but she was polite and patient and once we were in we were amazed with the cottage.

It's a beautiful, clean, well designed cottage with all the amenities you could want. Both bedrooms were comfortable, the lounge was cosy, the kitchen perfect for our needs and the bathroom was very spacious. Although it wasn't until the morning that we saw the most amazing views from every window! It's a shame we were only there for the weekend (a friends wedding nearby) because you could easily stay there for a week or two and be very settled and comfy. The games included also gave us a few hours of entertainment as the men rediscovered their love of Chess. I would definitely recommend this cottage and if I needed to stay in the area again I would definitely rebook myself. 10/10

When we booked the holiday as with any other we were a little apprehensive.

However when we finally got there we started to plan our next trip there! The lodge has everything we needed and such a peaceful night sleep. The beds a very comfortable and the layout of the lodge is very homely. The owners didn't intrude at all and left us to our own devices, they even left a bottle of wine on arrival of us! we knew if we needed them it would only take a short walk to their house. The location was everything we was looking for. Away from the chaos before Christmas. safe to say by the end of our short stay we had holiday blues! Would recommend for anyone who just wants to get away and have that little bit of quiet time. We will be back next year!

Lovely lodge in a great location.

Just a couple of niggles, the toilet seat is too small for the toilet and the shower didn’t work. The owner sorted us out very promptly with a couple of other issues, (tv remote not working and no dishwasher tablets) and also got the shower going but it didn’t work again the next day. We didn’t want to have to call the owners again and as there was a bath, it wasn’t a big deal.

Lovely property and in a great relaxing location.

The location was gorgeous, the accommodation excellent.

We loved every minute of our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Wish we could have stayed longer.
